Photocatalytic uranium extraction from radioactive nuclear wastewater and seawater is critical for promoting the sustainable advancement of nuclear industry, but the complexity of real-world environments, particularly the occurrence of anoxic and oxygen-enriched states, presents significant challenges to effective uranium extraction. Here, a layered hollow core–shell structure of Bi2O3/g-C3N4 Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst has been designed and successfully applied for photocatalytic uranium extraction in both aerobic and oxygen-free conditions, and the extraction efficiency of uranium can reach 98.4% and 99.0%, respectively. Moreover, the photocatalyst still has ultra-high extraction efficiency under the influence of pH, inorganic ions, and other factors. The exceptional capability for uranium extraction is on the one hand due to the distinctive hollow core–shell architecture, which furnishes an abundant quantity of active sites. On the other hand, benefiting from the suitable band gap structure brought by the construction of Z-scheme heterojunction, Bi2O3/g-C3N4 exhibits current densities (1.00 µA/cm2) that are 5.26 and 3.85 times greater than Bi2O3 and g-C3N4, respectively, and the directional migration mode of Z-scheme carriers significantly prolongs the lifetime of photogenerated charges (1.53 ns), which separately surpass the pure samples by factors of 5.10 and 3.19. Background: Systemic immune‐inflammation index (SII) provides convincing evaluation of systemic immune and inflammatory condition in human body. Its correlation with prostate cancer (PCa) risk remains uncharted. The principal objective of this investigation was to elucidate the association between SII and the risk for PCa in middle‐aged and elderly males. Materials and Methods: Analysis entailed multivariate linear and logistic regression, generalized additive model, and smoothing curve fitting using resource from 2007 to 2010 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). To ascertain robustness and consistency of this association across different demographic strata, we conducted rigorous subgroup analyses and interaction tests. Results: Among 3359 participants, those with elevated SII displayed higher total prostate‐specific antigen (tPSA) levels, higher risk for PCa, and lower free/total PSA (f/t PSA) ratio. Specifically, each unit increase of log2 (SII) was associated with a 0.22 ng/mL increase in tPSA (β: 0.22, 95% confidence intervals [CI] 0.05–0.38), a 2.22% decline in f/t PSA ratio (β: −2.22, 95% CI −3.20 to −1.23), and a 52% increased odds of being at high risk for PCa (odds ratio [OR]: 1.52, 95% CI 1.13–2.04). People in the top quartile of log2 (SII) exhibited 0.55 ng/mL increased tPSA (β: 0.55, 95% CI 0.19–0.90), 4.39% reduced f/t PSA ratio (β: −4.39, 95% CI −6.50 to −2.27), and 168% increased odds of being at high risk for PCa (OR: 2.68, 95% CI 1.32–5.46) compared to those in the bottom quartile. Conclusion: Systemic immune and inflammatory condition, as represented by SII, is independently and positively associated with tPSA levels and the risk for PCa, as well as independently and negatively associated with f/t PSA ratio among middle‐aged and older US males. Oncogenic KRAS is a major driver in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) that has yet to be therapeutically conquered. Here we report that the SLC7A11/glutathione axis displays metabolic synthetic lethality with oncogenic KRAS. Through metabolomics approaches, we found that mutationally activated KRAS strikingly increased intracellular cystine levels and glutathione biosynthesis. SLC7A11, a cystine/glutamate antiporter conferring specificity for cystine uptake, was overexpressed in patients with KRAS-mutant LUAD and showed positive association with tumor progression. Furthermore, SLC7A11 inhibition by either genetic depletion or pharmacological inhibition with sulfasalazine resulted in selective killing across a panel of KRASmutant cancer cells in vitro and tumor growth inhibition in vivo, suggesting the functionality and specificity of SLC7A11 as a therapeutic target. Importantly, we further identified a potent SLC7A11 inhibitor, HG106, that markedly decreased cystine uptake and intracellular glutathione biosynthesis. Furthermore, HG106 exhibited selective cytotoxicity toward KRAS- mutant cells by increasing oxidative stress- and ER stress-mediated cell apoptosis. Of note, treatment of KRAS-mutant LUAD with HG106 in several preclinical lung cancer mouse models led to marked tumor suppression and prolonged survival. In Islamic tradition, the Falsafa school is well known for its naturalistic account of religion. When Falsafa's theory of religion made its way to the Latin West, it was embraced and developed into the so-called "double truth theory" in Latin Averroism. However, this theory quickly lost its influence in the Latin tradition, primarily due to the critique by Thomas Aquinas. One of the key aspects of Aquinas's critique is his criticism of the emanation theory of concepts and the doctrine of the unity of the intellect, which in turn undermines the foundation of Falsafa's theory of religion, particularly their theory of natural prophecy. This paper aims to revisit the debate between Aquinas and Falsafa regarding the theory of intellect as the basis for natural prophecy, with a focus on highlighting Falsafa's perspective. The aim of the current study was to investigate the feasibility of three‐dimensional ultrashort echo time quantitative susceptibility mapping (3D UTE‐QSM) for the assessment of gadolinium (Gd) deposition in cortical bone. To this end, 40 tibial bovine cortical bone specimens were divided into five groups then soaked in phosphate‐buffered saline (PBS) solutions with five different Gd concentrations of 0, 0.4, 0.8, 1.2, and 1.6 mmol/L for 48 h. Additionally, eight rabbits were randomly allocated into three groups, consisting of a normal‐dose macrocyclic gadolinium‐based contrast agent (GBCA) group (n = 3), a high‐dose macrocyclic GBCA group (n = 3), and a control group (n = 2). All bovine and rabbit tibial bone samples underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on a 3‐T clinical MR system. A 3D UTE‐Cones sequence was utilized to acquire images with five different echo times (i.e., 0.032, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, and 1.2 ms). The UTE images were subsequently processed with the morphology‐enabled dipole inversion algorithm to yield a susceptibility map. The average susceptibility was calculated in three regions of interest in the middle of each specimen, and the Pearson's correlation between the estimated susceptibility and Gd concentration was calculated. The bone samples soaked in PBS with higher Gd concentrations exhibited elevated susceptibility values. A mean susceptibility value of −2.47 ± 0.23 ppm was observed for bovine bone soaked in regular PBS, while the mean QSM value increased to −1.75 ± 0.24 ppm for bone soaked in PBS with the highest Gd concentration of 1.6 mmol/L. A strong positive correlation was observed between Gd concentrations and QSM values. The mean susceptibility values of rabbit tibial specimens in the control group, normal‐dose GBCA group, and high‐dose GBCA group were −4.11 ± 1.52, −3.85 ± 1.33, and −3.39 ± 1.35 ppm, respectively. In conclusion, a significant linear correlation between Gd in cortical bone and QSM values was observed. The preliminary results suggest that 3D UTE‐QSM may provide sensitive noninvasive assessment of Gd deposition in cortical bone. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There are still some deficiencies in the development and applications of epoxy asphalt materials, and the chemistry and curing mechanism of epoxy asphalt materials remain unknown. Based on the curing mechanism of commercial epoxy asphalt, an oleylamine curing epoxy asphalt (OCEA) material was prepared, and it was systematically described from the perspective of engineering application and reaction mechanism. The viscosity properties of OCEA were mainly used to predict its reserved time range and temperature during construction. The tensile properties of OCEA and commercial epoxy asphalt are evaluated to show the mechanical properties. The fluorescence microscopy and infrared spectroscopy of the OCEA were analyzed to understand its micromorphology and curing mechanism, and its current advantages are further explained in combination with the tensile properties of OCEA. The results show that the OCEA has the advantage of high strength and toughness. The asphalt phase can participate in the curing reaction of epoxy resin, enhancing the miscibility between constituents, which further enhances the miscibility of the asphalt binder and epoxy resin. Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is one of the most prevalent types of valvular heart disease linked to poor prognosis in patients with heart failure and is usually ignored. TR has received considerable attention due to the progressive advancements in transcatheter therapies in recent years. With relatively solid data and rapid technological advancements, tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (T-TEER) is the most frequently employed in a series of tricuspid transcatheter interventional treatments for TR. However, the efficacy and technical benefits of T-TEER are limited because of the unique anatomical characteristics and pathological mechanisms of the tricuspid valve. The aim of this review is to summarize reported data on current status of T-TEER and to provide an expert opinion regarding the challenges it is now experiencing and future development direction and approach. T-TEER is a significant treatment for TR, but its effectiveness and technical promotion are limited due to the tricuspid valve unique anatomical characteristics and pathological mechanisms. The selection criteria for suitable patients, the choice of when to intervene, device innovation, the advancement of ultrasound technology, and the volume of evidence in evidence-based medicine all indicate that the disorder of TR will eventually be better treated and understood.
