Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyze the surgical outcome of patients with total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) who underwent cardiac surgery., Methods: A retrospective study was carried out. Patients with diagnosis of TAPVC undergoing cardiac surgery at the National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Chávez, from January 1, 2003 and June 30, 2019 were included. Descriptive statistics were calculated, as well as a bivariate analysis of the variables associated with mortality. A logistic regression model was included to determine risk factors associated with the main outcome and survival was analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier method., Results: A total of 5314 patients diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD) underwent surgery, 414 (7.8%) were patients with TAPVC, with an average age of 17.1 ± 34.6 months, 58.2% were male. It was frequent in infants (61.6%) and preschool (19.6%). Predominant type was supracardiac TAPVC (47.4%). Pulmonary venous obstruction (PVO) occurred in 32.1%. Risk factors associated with mortality were infracardiac TAPVC (odds ratio [OR]: 3.26; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.17-9.03; p = .02), PVO (OR: 2.56; 95% CI: 1.05-6.22; p = .03) and postoperative mechanical ventilation (OR: 1.005; 95% CI: 1.002-1.008; p = .01). Overall survival was 87.2%, with better outcomes in adolescents (100%), children (94.1%), mixed TAPVC (96%), and cardiac TAPVC (91.9%; p < .001)., Conclusions: The survival of our institution after surgical correction of TAPVC is similar to that of other referral centers, where patients with infracardiac TAPVC and newborns worse outcomes. Formation and stability of the B 56 boron cluster were investigated using a topological approach and the disk aromaticity model. An extensive global energy minimum search for the B 56 system which was carried out by means of the Mexican Enhanced Genetic Algorithm (MEGA) in conjunction with density functional theory computations, confirms a quasi-planar structure as its energetically most stable isomer. Such a structural motif is derived by applying a topological leapfrog operation to a B 12 form. Its high thermodynamic stability can be explained by the disk aromaticity model in which the delocalization of its π orbitals can be assigned to the levels of a particle in a circular box with the [(1σ) 2 (1π) 4 (1δ) 4 (1φ) 4 (2σ) 2 (1γ) 4 (2π) 4 (2δ) 4 (1η) 4 (2φ) 4 (1θ) 2 ] electronic configuration. This π delocalization is confirmed by other delocalization indices. While the B 56 has a similar electron delocalization to that of the quasi-planar B 50 , they have opposite magnetic ring current properties because of the symmetry selection rules of their HOMO-LUMO electronic transitions. The π delocalization in the boron clusters is larger at long distances as compared to carbon clusters at similar sizes, but such a trend is reversed at shorter distances.

Cysteine-protected metal nanoparticles (NPs) have shown interesting physicochemical properties of potential utility in biomedical applications and in the understanding of protein folding. Herein, cysteine interaction with gold, silver, and copper NPs is characterized by Raman spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations to elucidate the molecular conformation and adsorption sites for each metal. The experimental analysis of Raman spectra upon adsorption with respect to free cysteine indicates that while the C-S bond and carboxyl group are similarly affected by adsorption on the three metal NPs, the amino group is sterically influenced by the electronegativity of each metal, causing a greater modification in the case of gold NPs. A theoretical approach that takes into consideration intermolecular interactions using two cysteine molecules is proposed using a S-metal-S interface motif anchored to the metal surface. These interactions generate the stabilization of an organo-metallic complex that combines gauche (P H ) and anti (P C ) rotameric conformers of cysteine on the surface of all three metals. Similarities between the calculated Raman spectra and experimental data confirm the thiol and carboxyl as adsorption groups for gold, silver, and copper NPs and suggest the formation of monomeric "staple motifs" that have been found in the protecting monolayer of atomic-precise thiolate-capped metal nanoclusters.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, the etiologic agent of coronavirus disease 2019, has caused more than 160 million infections globally. The experience of our department showed that the execution of a strict surgery protocol, universal severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 screening, surgical prioritization, and an orderly reactivation of the cardiac surgery program is a feasible way to keep congenital heart diseases surgery program.

Gold, silver, and copper small nanoparticles (NPs), with average size ≈2 nm, are synthesized and afterward protected with l- and d-cysteine, demonstrating emergence of chiroptical activity in the wavelength range of 250-400 nm for all three metals with respect to the bare nanoparticles and ligands alone. Silver-cysteine (Ag-Cys) NPs display the higher anisotropy factor, whereas gold-cysteine (Au-Cys) NPs show optical and chiroptical signatures slightly more displaced to the visible range. A larger number of circular dichroism (CD) bands with smaller intensity, as compared to gold and silver, is observed for the first time for copper-cysteine (Cu-Cys) NPs. The manifestation of optical and chiroptical responses upon cysteine adsorption and the differences between the spectra corresponding to each metal are mainly dictated by the metal-ligand interface, as supported by a comparison with calculations of the oscillatory and rotatory strengths based on time-dependent density functional theory, using a metal-ligand interface motif model, which closely resembles the experimental absorption and CD spectra. These results are useful to demonstrate the relevance of the interface between chiral ligands and the metal surfaces of Au, Ag, and Cu NPs, and provide evidence and further insights into the origin of the transfer mechanisms and induction of extrinsic chirality., (© 2021 Wiley-VCH GmbH.)

Learning Objects represent a widespread approach to structuring instructional materials in a large variety of educational contexts. The main aim of this work consists of analyzing the process of generating reusable learning objects followed by Clavy , a tool that can be used to retrieve data from multiple medical knowledge sources and reconfigure such sources in diverse multimedia-based structures and organizations. From these organizations, Clavy is able to generate learning objects that can be adapted to various instructional healthcare scenarios with several types of user profiles and distinct learning requirements. Moreover, Clavy provides the capability of exporting these learning objects through standard educational specifications, which improves their reusability features. The analysis proposed is conducted following criteria defined by the MASMDOA framework for comparing and selecting learning object generation methodologies. The analysis insights highlight the importance of having a tool to transfer knowledge from the available digital medical collections to learning objects that can be easily accessed by medical students and healthcare practitioners through the most popular e-learning platforms.

The epidemiology of lymphomas has changed since the use of antiretroviral therapy. The incidence of Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas (NHL) has significantly decreased in high income countries but not in low and middle-income countries where AIDS-related events remain high. This observational study describes the characteristics, infectious complications and main outcomes of patients diagnosed with HIV and lymphoma at the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología.All adults >18 years diagnosed with HIV and lymphoma from January 2010 to December 2017 were included. Information on HIV and lymphoma was collected, as well as the occurrence of co-infections at diagnosis and during therapy. Multiple regression was done with NHL patients to evaluate independent variables associated to death.One hundred fifty three patients were included: 127 patients with NHL (83%) and 26 (17%) with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). Of the NHL, 49 (38%) were diffuse large B cell Lymphomas (DLBCL), 35 (27%) plasmablastic, 28 (23%) Burkitt, 10 (8%) primary DLBCL of Central Nervous system, 3 (2%) T-cell lymphomas, and 2 (2%) pleural effusion lymphoma. Most patients were diagnosed in an advanced stage: 70% of NHL had a high International Prognostic Index (IPI); 68% of patients had <200 cells/mm. Almost 25% of NHL patients had an opportunistic infection at lymphoma diagnosis. During chemotherapy, 60% of all patients presented with at least 1 serious non-opportunistic infectious complication, and 50% presented 2 or more infectious complications, mostly bacterial infections. Thirty six percent of NHL and 23% of HL died. After adjusting for confounders, the variables associated with death were IPI and lymphoma type.HIV positive patients with lymphoma in our institution are diagnosed with an advanced stage and a high burden of infections complications. Death remains high and the variables strongly associated with death are those related to lymphoma prognosis such as lymphoma type and IPI.

Objective: To describe the clinical features, outcomes, and molecular epidemiology of an outbreak of multidrug resistant (MDR) A. baumannii., Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of all MDR A. baumannii isolates recovered during an outbreak from 2011 to 2015 in a tertiary care cancer hospital. Cases were classified as colonized or infected. We determined sequence types following the Bartual scheme and plasmid profiles., Results: There were 106 strains of A. baumannii isolated during the study period. Sixty-six (62.3%) were considered as infection and 40 (37.7%) as colonization. The index case, identified by molecular epidemiology, was a patient with a drain transferred from a hospital outside Mexico City. Ninety-eight additional cases had the same MultiLocus Sequence Typing (MLST) 758, of which 94 also had the same plasmid profile, two had an extra plasmid, and two had a different plasmid. The remaining seven isolates belonged to different MLSTs. Fifty-three patients (50%) died within 30 days of A. baumanniii isolation: 28 (20%) in colonized and 45 (68.2%) in those classified as infection (p<0.001). In multivariate regression analysis, clinical infection and patients with hematologic neoplasm, predicted 30-day mortality. The molecular epidemiology of this outbreak showed the threat posed by the introduction of MDR strains from other institutions in a hospital of immunosuppressed patients and highlights the importance of adhering to preventive measures, including contact isolation, when admitting patients with draining wounds who have been hospitalized in other institutions., Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist.

A genetic search algorithm in conjunction with density functional theory calculations was used to determine the lowest-energy minima of the pure B22 cluster and thereby to evaluate the capacity of its isomers to form endohedrally doped cages with two transition metal atoms M (M = Sc and Ti). An important charge transfer from metal atoms M to the boron cage takes place, stabilizing the endohedral compounds, as predicted with the genetic algorithm implemented. High-level coupled-cluster theory CCSD(T) calculations were carried out to confirm that the structures found are the lowest-energy isomers. For a deeper understanding of the doping effects and related charge transfer, the best structural motif of the B22 isomers was also determined when the bare cages are in anionic states, such as B222- and B224-. It was found that B22 has an appropriate size, geometric shape and electronic state to host the chosen metal atoms and, consequently, to form stable endohedrally doped compounds Ti@B22 (C2v, 4-Ti) and Sc@B22 (C2v, 5-Sc). The chemical bonding was analyzed in order to understand the molecular orbitals that these novel systems form. The cage aromaticity was evaluated by means of the nuclear independent chemical shift (NICS(0)iso) indices, the isochemical shielding surface (ICSSzz), the anisotropy of the current induced density (ACID) maps, and the magnetic ring current Gauge-Including Magnetically Induced Current (GIMIC) method, indicating that aromaticity plays a crucial role in the stabilization of endohedrally doped boron clusters. Finally, the thermodynamic stability of the latter, using parameters derived from density functional theory (DFT), was evaluated. Ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations were performed to elucidate the stability, at high temperature, of the most stable endohedrally doped boron clusters 4-Ti and 5-Sc.

Background: Breast surgery is considered a clean surgery. However, surgical-site infection (SSI) rates are currently higher than predicted. Postoperative drains remain in situ for several days, with inevitable bacterial colonization and increased SSI risk., Methods: This randomized controlled trial from October 2016 to January 2018 analyzed patients undergoing breast cancer surgery. The patients were randomized to either the standard drain care group or the antiseptic dressing group (3M® Tegaderm® CHG). Drain samples taken on postoperative days (PODs) 7 and 14 were cultured as standardized in the laboratory. Colonization rates and SSI were compared between the two groups., Results: The study enrolled 104 patients with 167 surgical drains. The patients' clinical characteristics were similar in the two groups, with no statistically significant differences. Bulb fluid cultures at postoperative week (POW) 1 were positive for 42.9% of the control group and 28.9% of the antiseptic group (p = 0.06). Cultures from the POW 2 assessment were positive for 79.7% of the control group versus 54.9% of the antiseptic group (p = 0.001). Cultures from drain tubes were positive for 79.8% of the control group and 50.7% of the antiseptic group (p = < 0.001). In 11 patients, an SSI developed, 3 (5.8%) from the intervention and 8 (15.4%) from the control procedure (p = 0.11)., Conclusion: The study findings demonstrated that the use of antiseptics at the drain exit site significantly reduced bacterial colonization of the closed drainage system in breast cancer surgery. Semi-permeable occlusive chlorhexidine-impregnated dressings provide an opportunity to test simple, safe, and low-cost interventions that may reduce drain bacterial colonization and SSI after breast surgery.

Controlling Ce4+ to Ce3+ electronic reducibility in a rare-earth binary oxide such as CeO2 has enormous applications in heterogeneous catalysis, where a profound understanding of reactivity and selectivity at the atomic level is yet to be reached. Thus, in this work we report an extensive DFT-based Basin Hopping global optimization study to find the most stable bimetallic Pt-Cu clusters supported on the CeO2(111) oxide surface, involving up to 5 atoms in size for all compositions. Our PBE+U global optimization calculations indicate a preference for Pt-Cu clusters to adopt 2D planar geometries parallel to the oxide surface, due to the formation of strong metal bonds to oxygen surface sites and charge transfer effects. The calculated adsorption energy values (Eads) for both mono- and bimetallic systems are of the order of 1.79 up to 4.07 eV, implying a strong metal cluster interaction with the oxide surface. Our calculations indicate that at such sub-nanometer sizes, the number of Ce4+ surface atoms reduced to Ce3+ cations is mediated by the amount of Cu atoms within the cluster, reaching a maximum of three Ce3+ for a supported Cu5 cluster. Our computational results have critical implications on the continuous understanding of the strong metal-support interactions over reducible oxides such as CeO2, as well as the advancement of frontier research areas such as heterogeneous single-atom catalysts (SAC) and single-cluster catalysts (SCC).

In this paper, we describe a new approach to generating standardized e-Learning content from existing medical collections. The core of this approach is a tool called Clavy, which makes it possible to retrieve information items from medical collections, to transform these items into meaningful learning units, and to export them in the form of standardized e-Learning packages. In addition to describing the approach, we assess its feasibility by applying it to the generation of IMS Content Packages from MedPix, an online database of medical cases in the domain of radiology.

The lowest-lying isomer of the B50 boron cluster is confirmed to have a quasi-planar shape with two hexagonal holes. By applying a topological (leap-frog) dual operation followed by boron capping, we demonstrated that such a quasi-planar structure actually comes from the smallest elongated B102-, and its high thermodynamic stability is due to its inherent disk aromaticity arising from its 32 valent π electrons that fully occupy a disk configuration of [(1σ)2(1π)4(1δ)4(2σ)2(1φ)4(2π)4(1γ)4(2δ)4(1η)4]. The aromatic character of the quasi-planar B50 is further supported by a strong diatropic magnetic current flow. The sudden appearance of a quasi-planar B50 again points out that the growth pattern of pure boron clusters is still far from being completely understood.

Pulmonary regurgitation (PR) is a frequent complication after repair of congenital heart disease. Three different GRK isoforms (GRK2, GRK5, and GRK3) and two β-adrenoceptors (β1-AR and β2-AR) are present in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and their expression changes as a consequence of the hemodynamic and neurohumoral alterations that occur in some cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, they could be useful as biomarkers in PR. A prospective study was conducted to describe the expression (TaqMan Gene Expression Assays) of β-ARs and GRKs in PBMC isolated (Ficoll ® gradient) from patients with severe PR before and after pulmonary valve replacement and establish if this expression correlates to clinical status. 23 patients with severe PR were included and compared with 22 healthy volunteers (controls). PR patients before the PVR had a significantly lower expression of β2-AR (513.8 ± 261.2 mRNA copies) vs. controls (812.5 ± 497.2 mRNA copies), so as GRK2 expression (503.4 ± 364.9 copies vs. 858.1 ± 380.3 mRNA copies). The expression of β2-AR and GRK2 significantly decreases in symptomatic and asymptomatic patients, as well as in patients under treatment with beta-blockers and non-treated patients. The expression of β2-AR and GRK2 in PR patients recovers the normal values after pulmonary valve replacement (754,8 ± 77,1 and 897,8 ± 87,4 copies, respectively). Therefore, changes in the expression of β2-AR and GRK2 in PBMC of PR patients, could be considered as potential biomarkers to determine clinical decisions.

A theoretical study has been performed for deposited AumAgn (m + n = 1-6) clusters. The combined use of the Mexican Enhanced Genetic Algorithm (MEGA) and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations allows us to explore the potential energy surface and therefore, find the global minimum configuration for each composition. We have performed calculations of clusters deposited on defects (oxygen vacancies) known as F centers on MgO (100) surfaces. Our results show interesting differences in the geometries of the clusters upon deposition and as a consequence in their electronic properties. The combination of two metals with different electronegativities creates an inhomogeneous charge distribution on their exposed surface producing good conditions for a catalytic process to take place.

A comparative theoretical study has been performed of the gas phase and deposited AumRhn (4 ≤ m + n ≤ 6) clusters. The combined use of a genetic algorithm and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations allows us to explore the potential energy surface and, therefore, find efficiently and automatically the global minimum configuration for each composition. Our results show interesting effects on the geometries of the clusters on deposition. This occurs because the rhodium atoms (electronically) prefer to be in contact with the MgO surface, sometimes promoting planar clusters to become three-dimensional when deposited, and three-dimensional clusters in the gas phase to become two-dimensional. Together with the change in geometries, the magnetic moment is reduced from the gas phase, as the electrons rearrange themselves when the cluster interacts with the substrate.

Anion photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) and ab initio calculations have been used to identify the unique structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of both neutral and anionic binary AunRhm (n = 1-7 and m = 1-2) clusters in vacuo. Negative ion photoelectron spectra are presented with electron binding energies measured up to 3.493 eV. We discuss our computational results in the context of the PES experiment, in which the calculated electron affinities and vertical detachment energies are in good agreement with the measured values. Theoretically, we investigate the low-lying energy structures and the spin isomers of each neutral, anionic and cationic species. The PES spectra, binding energies, fragmentation energy, electron affinities, vertical and adiabatic detached energies, HOMO-LUMO (H-L) gaps and vibrational spectra are presented and discussed. Our results show that the characteristic planarity for gold clusters is preserved for many of the bimetallic clusters. This study is therefore compared with the case of pure gold for which ample experimental and theoretical data are available. Both experimental and theoretical results obtained here are compared and discussed with previous theoretical studies on the same systems.

To explore if genic expression of β(1)- or β(2)-adrenoceptors (ARs) exhibits a common regulatory pattern with G protein-coupled receptor kinase (GRK) 2, GRK3, or GRK5 expression, we determined messenger RNA levels for these genes in different tissues from human and animal models of cardiovascular disease. We measured genic expression by qRT polymerase chain reaction in the left and right ventricles or peripheral blood mononuclear cells from healthy (n = 21), hypertensive (n = 20), heart failure (n = 24), and heart transplanted patients (n = 17) or in left ventricle, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and kidney from spontaneously hypertensive rats or L-N-methyl-arginine-induced hypertensive rats and their respective controls (n = 4-5). In diseased versus healthy subjects and rats, parallel changes in messenger RNA levels of GRK2 and β(2)-AR or GRK5 and β(1)-AR were observed in each territory. Therefore, without excluding other regulatory mechanisms, the parallelism observed suggests a common regulatory pattern for the β(1)-AR/GRK5 and β(2)-AR/GRK2 genes, which is independent of cellular type or pathology. This highlights the need to focus not only on GRKs but also on β(1)- or β(2)-AR changes to completely understand the involvement of β-AR/GRK pathways in cardiovascular diseases.

Objective: To analize the implementation of the Sistema Integral de Calidad en Salud (Sicalidad) program of the Ministry of Health in the 2011., Materials and Methods: The study follows a cross sectional design, hybrid, with a qualitative and quantitative components. A cluster probabilístic sample was used with two stages. A total of 3 034 interviews were carried out in 13 states to evaluate the implementation of the eight components of the Sicalidad program. General indexes of performance (GIP) were formulated for structure process and satisfaction of users, physicians and nurses with the program., Results: The GIP with the lower score was accreditation of health facilities with a range of scores between 25.4 and 28% in the medical units evaluated; The highest range of scores was in the component of nosocomial infection prevention between 78.3 and 92%., Conclusion: In brief the Sicalidad components evaluated suggest problems with both structure and critical process elements in the implementation of the quality initiatives.

Aims: Recent studies suggest that non-cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning can be performed safely in selected cardiac rhythm device patients. However, little is known about the safety of performing specific cardiac MRI in this setting. We sought to determine the feasibility of cardiac MRI in patients with pacemakers (PMs) or implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs)., Methods and Results: Thirty-eight patients underwent a total of 39 (8 ICDs and 31 PM) cardiac MRI examinations at 1.5 T using usual protocols without specific absorption rate (SAR) restrictions. Nine PM-dependent patients were included. All devices were interrogated before and immediately after MRI. During the scan, pacing mode was programmed to asynchronous for PM-dependent patients whereas ICDs were programmed to a monitor-only mode. All devices were functioning appropriately after cardiac MRI. Comparison of device parameters obtained before and immediately after MRI revealed no significant changes in pacing threshold, lead impedance, battery status, or sensing signal amplitude. Neither clinical events nor patient complaints were reported. Significant imaging artefacts were present on 11 of 39 scans (28.2%). These artefacts were significantly more frequent in ICDs (8 of 8, 100%) vs. PMs (3 of 31, 9.7%) (P < 0.001). Diagnostic questions were answered in 92.3% of the cases, with just three pronounced artefacts preventing an adequate diagnosis in three ICD patients., Conclusions: Our results suggest that cardiac MRI may be performed safely in appropriately selected patients with close monitoring during the scan without limitation of peak SAR level using several precautionary measures. Image artefacts were more frequent in ICD patients.

Currently, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging is contraindicated in patients with a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. This study was carried out because the potential risks in this situation need to be clearly defined. This prospective study evaluated clinical and electrical parameters before and after magnetic resonance imaging was performed in 33 patients (five with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators and 28 with pacemakers). In these patients, magnetic resonance imaging was considered clinically essential. There were no clinical complications. There was a temporary communication failure in two cases, sensing errors during imaging in two cases, and a safety signal was generated in one pacemaker at the maximum magnetic resonance frequency and output level. There were no technical restrictions on imaging nor were there any permanent changes in the performance of the cardiac pacing device.

Introduction and Objectives: The development of renal failure is one of the most important problems after heart transplantation (HT), but the wide range of definitions means that estimates of its prevalence vary considerably. Furthermore, its impact on mortality has not been adequately studied. The objective was to investigate the relationship between the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) 1 year after transplantation and mortality during follow-up., Methods: The GFR was determined in 316 patients still living 1 year after transplantation using the abbreviated Modification of Diet in Renal Disease Study formula. Patients were divided into three groups according to GFR (i.e. <30, 30-59 and > or =60 mL/min per 1.73 m2) and pretransplant variables and rejection and infection rates within the first year were analyzed. The association between GFR at 1 year and mortality during follow-up was evaluated and reasons for the association were examined., Results: There was no difference in the number of rejections or infections in the first year between the three groups. During a mean follow-up period of 6.3 years, 74% of patients with a GFR <30 mL/min per 1.73 m2 died, compared with 24% and 30% of those with a GFR > or =60 and 30-59 mL/min per 1.73 m2, respectively. Survival analysis (i.e. Cox regression analysis) demonstrated a significant difference between patients with a GFR <30 mL/min per 1.73 m2 and other patients (P< .001). A very low GFR at 1 year was the only independent predictor that remained statistically significant on multivariate analysis (hazard ratio =2.87; 95% confidence interval, 1.52-5.41)., Conclusions: Severe renal dysfunction at 1 year was an independent predictor of long-term all-cause mortality in heart transplant patients.

The aim of this study was to analyze, in heart transplant patients, if renal function improvement after cyclosporine replacement by everolimus persists at the middle term and its predictors. We studied prospectively 56 patients in whom conversion was consecutively made. Forty-five patients completed the follow-up period. Significant improvement was observed at 6 and 12 months in plasma creatinine levels (1.92+/-0.7 vs. 1.67+/-0.6 and 1.69+/-0.6 mg/dL; P=0.047) and glomerular filtration rate (43.9+/-17 vs. 52.5+/-23 and 51.3+/-22.3 mL/min; P=0.004). Glomerular filtration rate increased in 32 patients (71%). Baseline characteristics comparison showed a lower percentage of patients with smoking history and new onset diabetes in responders group, but only previous smoking was shown as independent factor (Exp B: 0.083; 95% confidence interval: 0.010-0.793; P=0.024). No differences regarding age, gender, body mass index, disease leading to transplantation, time between transplantation and replacement, cardiovascular risk factors, lipid levels, and hematologic parameters were found.
