This paper proposes a method to combine feature fusion and decision fusion together for multi-sensor data classification. First, morphological features which contain elevation and spatial information, are generated on both LiDAR data and the first few principal components (PCs) of original hyperspectral (HS) image. We got the fused features by projecting the spectral (original HS image), spatial and elevation features onto a lower subspace through a graph-based feature fusion method. Then, we got four classification maps by using spectral features, spatial features, elevation features and the graph fused features individually as input of SVM classifier. The final classification map was obtained by fusing the four classification maps through the weighted majority voting. Experimental results on fusion of HS and LiDAR data from the 2013 IEEE GRSS Data Fusion Contest demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed method. Compared to the methods using single data source or only feature fusion, with the proposed method, overall classification accuracies were improved by 10% and 2%, respectively.

Recent land cover changes in the Umiujaq region of northern Québec, Canada, have been quantified in order to estimate changes in the extent of discontinuous permafrost that strongly affect the forest-tundra ecotone. Changes in the areas covered by different vegetation types, thermokarst lakes, and degradation of lithalsas, have been investigated over an area of 60 km², extending from widespread discontinuous permafrost in the north to areas of scattered permafrost in the south, and from Hudson Bay in the west to the Lac Guillaume-Delisle graben 10 km further east. We used high resolution remote-sensing images (QuickBird 2004, GeoEye 2009) and four Landsat scenes (1986, 1990, 2001, 2008) as well as ground based data (vegetation, active layer thickness (ALT), snow parameters) collected between 2009 and 2011. Two change detection methods applied to estimate the land cover changes between 1986 and 2009 showed an overall increase in vegetation extent between 1986 and 2009, and a 21% increase in tall vegetation (spruce and tall shrubs) between 2004 and 2009 at the expense of low vegetation (lichens, prostrate shrubs, herbaceous vegetation). Thermokarst lakes and lithalsas in 10 sub-areas were mapped manually from satellite imagery. The area covered by water decreased by 24% between 2004 and 2009, often due to vegetation colonizing the margins of lakes, and ninety three of the observed lakes disappeared completely over that period. The area covered by lithalsas declined by 6%. Our results demonstrate the viability of using high resolution satellite imagery to detect changes in the land surface that can serve as indicators of permafrost degradation in the sub-Arctic.

International audience; The exploration of groundwater in hard rock is one of the ways indicated for supplying populations in water. In fact, the cracked bedrock aquifers are excellent groundwater reservoirs (Kouame, 1999; Jourda et al, 2006).The aim of this work is to produce a map of lineaments and thematic maps of Soubré-Méagui's groundwater resources for their efficient management. The method uses remote sensing associated to Spatial Reference Information System (SRIS). Indeed, thanks to different treatments applied to Landsat ETM + images (geometric correction, enhancement, CPA, RGB composition , space filtering), structural lineaments have been extracted. The validation of these lineaments with photo-geological map has helped to map fracturing of Soubré-Méagui. The integration of this map in the SRIS with hydrogeo-logical data has made possible thematic mapping of groundwater resources. Maps of availability, accessibility, exploit-Utilisation des images Landsat ETM+ et du SIRS pour la cartographie linéamentaire et thématique de Soubre-Meagui 210 ability and potentiality of groundwater ressources were performed. This study shows that 82.60% of the area provides a good availability of groundwater resources. These resources are however difficult to reach because 62 % of the area presents bad and poor accessibilities. Therefore these resources are fitfully exploitable with 76.63 % of the area presenting bad and poor groundwater resources exploitability. The map groundwater potentiality reveals that 60% of the area presents excellent and good potentialities, predicting good flow of future drilling operations in the concerned areas.; L'exploration des eaux souterraines en zone de socle est l'une des voies indiquées pour la fourniture des populations en eau. En effet, les aquifères du socle fissuré constituent d'excellents réservoirs d'eau souterraine (Kouamé, 1999; Jour-da et al, 2005). L'objectif de ce travail est de réaliser la carte des linéaments et les cartes thématiques des ressources en eau souterraine de Soubré-Méagui en vue de leur gestion efficiente. L'approche méthodologique utilisée est la télé-détection couplée au Système d'Information à Référence Spatiale (SIRS). Cette étude révèle que 82,60 % du domaine présente une bonne et excellente disponibilité en eau souterraine. Ces res-sources sont difficilement accessibles car 62 % du territoire présente une accessibilité mauvaise à médiocre. Elles sont aussi difficilement exploitables car 76.63 % de la superficie présente une exploitabilité des ressources en eau souter-raine mauvaise et médiocre. La carte des potentialités en eau souterraine révèle que 60% du domaine présente un excellent à bon indice de potentialité; ce qui prédit de bons débits d'exploitation des futures forages dans les zones con-cernées.
