Pervious concrete is a type of a concrete designed and installed to have high porosity which reduces its me-chanical properties. But this feature is also resulting in its most favorable property, remarkable drainage properties making it a desirable green pavement solution for specific areas. Properly designed and installed pervious concrete pavement presents an optimal solution for low volume areas and particularly, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. Pervious concrete has been studied extensively over the past 40 years, but still there are no European standards for its testing and installation. Mainly, international researchers are dealing with pervious concrete composition and mechanical properties improvements for its usage as concrete slabs or monolithically constructed concrete pavement surfaces. Within this paper, experimental research will be presented on pervious concrete properties for the production and installation of pervious concrete paving flags. On laboratory produced pervious concrete paving flags, weathering resistance by water absorption measurement, bending strength, abrasion resistance and drainage by ASTM C1701 were conducted varying pervious concrete mix composition.

Knjiga prikazuje politiku i regulativu Europske unije vezano za obnovljive izvore energije, nastojeći pozicionirati Republiku Hrvatsku u odnosu na druge članice EU-a u pogledu postizanja zadanih ciljeva o uporabi obnovljivih izvora energije. Obnovljivost i održivost nisu istoznačnice, ali se radi o težnjama koje se međusobno nadopunjuju te sinergijski djeluju u cilju postizanja ravnoteže na dugoročnoj osnovi. U tom smislu treba sagledati, analizirati i razmotriti sve moguće načine ostvarenja takvih ciljeva. Upravo s takvom se namjerom ostvarivanja pozitivnih pomaka biomasa analizira kao energent, s naglaskom na lokalno dostupnoj biomasi - žetvenim ostatcima i drvnoj biomasi. S obzirom na to da kao rezultat sagorijevanja biomase u energetskim procesima nastaje pepeo, prikazan je pregled literature na temu primjene pepela biomase u građevnim proizvodima, što je korak ka poboljšanju trenutačnoga stanja kroz iznošenje značajnih informacija u znanstvenom, zakonodavnom, ekonomskom i praktičnom smislu. Dodana se vrijednost knjige očituje u prikazu rezultata vlastitih istraživanja na temu primjene pepela biomase u građevnim proizvodima nastalih u sklopu provedbe projekta Poljoprivredni otpad - izazovi i poslovne mogućnosti - Eco build. Radi se o složenoj tematici koja uključuje više znanstvenih područja, polja i grana, a s takvim se interdisciplinarnim pristupom knjiga hvata u koštac pitanjima na koja je potrebno i neophodno tražiti odgovore kako bi se osigurao boljitak. Kako je već spomenuto, tematika ove knjige zbog složenosti iziskuje angažiranost široke lepeze zainteresiranih struka pa su tako autori ove knjige nastavnici Sveučilišta Josipa Jurja Strossmayera različitih istraživačkih profila, s prinosom u svom području rada i djelovanja. Iako je knjiga primarno znanstvena, autori se nadaju da će pobuditi zanimanje i kod svih onih koji posjeduju biomasu, onih koji ju mogu koristiti kao energent, kao i kod dionika građevne industrije koja bi mogla koristiti pepeo biomase. Umrežavanjem bi sve uključene strane mogle ostvariti korist te bi se, općenito, poboljšala konkurentnost regionalnih ekonomskih subjekata i pospješio daljnji razvoj poslovnoga okruženja na ovom području.

Ethical considerations regarding the application of AI-enabled technology have also transposed to the accountancy profession, challenging the ethical principles of professional accountants. Ethical behaviour is a keystone of the accountancy profession and needs special consideration in the digital age. The main goal of this paper is to provide an overview of the current state of knowledge by investigating professional accountants' ethical issues and concerns regarding the use of Artificial intelligence technology in accounting practice. The objective of this paper is to analyse recently published research on ethical implications that arise from the adoption of Artificial intelligence (AI) technology in accounting practice and analyse viewpoints from academics and practitioners. The paper also highlights areas that have been identified to be addressed in future research. This paper synthesizes the findings of the recent research about the ethical considerations of the usage of AI technology in the accounting practice which is still underexplored. The paper also covers broad scope by identifying issues emphasized in practitioners’ literature as well as in the recent academic research to gain a more comprehensive insight into the subject matter. A systematic literature review was conducted of open access articles and proceedings papers, indexed in Scopus as well as reports, and discussion papers from globally recognized professional accounting bodies. Challenges for the ethical principle of objectivity, followed by the principle of professional competence and due care have been most articulated in the analysed literature, both by academics and professional accounting bodies. Future research regarding ethical considerations and AI technology should focus on the future role of professional accountants and the accountability regarding exercising professional judgment as well as requirements for altering professional accountants' skills to uphold professional competence and due care principle. Road construction relies on natural material exploitation and it is necessary to find new ways of reducing its negative environmental impact. Simultaneously, number of tyres placed on Croatian (and world) market is constantly growing and the need for waste tyres management will begin to increase due to the wear and tear of tyres in use at the moment. This paper presents a review of latest international and domestic researches on waste rubber application in road construction with special emphasize on Croatian researches within this topic. Preliminary results of ongoing research on waste rubber application in cement bound mixtures are also presented.

Intenzivna primjena informacijskih tehnologija u svakodnevnom poslovanju ne mijenja samo tradicionalne načine obavljanja računovodstvenih zadataka, već traži i specijalizirana znanja i vještine. U tom smislu, od iznimnog je značaja edukacija vezana uz informacijske tehnologije i primjenu informacijskih tehnologija u računovodstvu, a koju budući profesionalni računovođe stječu tijekom formalnog obrazovanja na visokoškolskim institucijama. Cilj rada je istražiti pojavnost kolegija koji pružaju edukaciju o informacijskim tehnologijama na računovodstvenim smjerovima, na preddiplomskoj i diplomskoj razini studija, na visokoškolskim institucijama s AACSB akreditacijom (eng. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) u odabranim europskim zemljama. U radu se također identificiraju vrste informacijskih tehnologija koje se izučavaju u okviru kolegija na računovodstvenim smjerovima na preddiplomskoj i diplomskoj razini studija. U istraživanju je korištena metoda analize sadržaja web stranica, pri čemu je analiziran 51 studijski program računovodstvenog usmjerenja. Rezultati provedenog empirijskog istraživanja nadopunjuju postojeće spoznaje pružajući uvid u informacijske tehnologije koje se izučavaju na preddiplomskoj i diplomskoj razini studijskih programa računovodstvenog usmjerenja u europskom kontekstu, a koje u značajnoj mjeri korespondiraju tehnologijama koje se primjenjuju u recentnoj računovodstvenoj praksi., The intensive use of information technologies (IT) in day to day business operations changes traditional ways of performing accounting tasks and requires gaining specialized knowledge and skills. It is of utmost importance that future professional accountants have IT education within formal accounting education. The goal of this paper is to analyse courses (modules) that cover IT and integrate IT into the accounting domain in higher education institutions at undergraduate and graduate levels at AACSB accredited higher education institutions in selected European countries. This paper also aims to identify a variety of information technologies that are covered in courses in undergraduate and graduate accounting degree programs. Content analysis was used for analysing web pages of 51 accounting study programmes. Results of the research complement previous academic studies by providing a better understanding of information technologies that are studied at the undergraduate and graduate accounting degree programmes in European context. Results imply that they significantly correspond to the technologies integrated into a recent accounting practice.

Etiologija izvanbolničke upale pluća ovisi o brojnim čimbenicima, kao što su sezonstvo, geografski položaj, dob bolesnika i težina bolesti. Liječenje djeteta s izvanbolničkom upalom pluća uključuje primjenu simptomatskih mjera i u većine bolesnika antimikrobnu terapiju. U radu su prikazane kliničke preporuke Hrvatskog društva za pedijatrijsku pulmologiju radi ujednačenja postupaka i kriterija postavljanja dijagnoze, liječenja i prevencije izvanbolničkih upala pluća u djece.

This paper analyses prerequisite professional accountants' generic skills from accounting employers' perspective. Generic skills received much attention and were analysed from the perspectives of accounting professionals, graduate accountants but also from the perspective of accounting employers. The expectations of the accounting employers best reflect the labour market requirements and are an important source of information of necessary generic skills of professional accountants. This paper aims to broaden current knowledge regarding the expected generic skills of professional accountants by analysing results of recent studies from accounting employers' perspectives conducted in different regions. Literature review was conducted by investigating large databases such as Web of science Core Collections and Scopus as well as prominent scientific journals, focusing on the period from 2016 till 2020 with emphasis on different regions. Consistent with previous research, results suggest there is no general agreement regarding the prerequisite generic professional skills of professional accountants from an employers perspective. We also identified some common skills perceived as important: oral and written communication skills, teamwork skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to use information technology, commitment to life-long learning and ethical attitude. Identification of different generic skills should serve as a guidance for accounting educators in their reflection regarding accounting programs and establishing relevant teaching areas, units and learning outcomes. Further research should focus on contextual factors to produce interesting findings and enable a deeper degree of understanding of expected generic skills of professional accountants.

Etiologija izvanbolničke upale pluća ovisi o brojnim čimbenicima, kao što su sezonstvo, geografski položaj, dob bolesnika i težina bolesti. Liječenje djeteta s izvanbolničkom upalom pluća uključuje primjenu simptomatskih mjera i u većine bolesnika antimikrobnu terapiju. U radu su prikazane kliničke preporuke Hrvatskog društva za pedijatrijsku pulmologiju radi ujednačenja postupaka i kriterija postavljanja dijagnoze, liječenja i prevencije izvanbolničkih upala pluća u djece., Community-acquired pneumonia is potentially serious infection in children. The diagnosis can be based on the history and clinical signs and symptoms. Additional diagnostic tests (laboratory, imaging, and microbiology) may be helpful when diagnosis is unclear. The most likely etiology depends on a number of factors such as seasonality, geographic location, the age of child, and the severity of disease. Treatment involves symptomatic measures, and in most children antibiotic therapy. This paper presents the clinical guidelines of the Croatian Society of Pediatric Pulmonology to standardize the procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of children with community-acquired pneumonia.

67. Smanjenje pronosa onečišćenja oborinskim vodama primjenom TiO2 na poroznim parkirališnim pločama za popločavanje

Rad istražuje mogućnost smanjenja pronosa onečišćenja oborinskim vodama primjenom TiO2 različitih proizvođača i pojavnih oblika (prah, peleti, emulzija) kao komponente habajućeg sloja parkirališnih ploča za popločavanje od poroznog betona. Izrađeno je pet serija dvoslojnih parkirališnih ploča od poroznog betona pri čemu je u gornjem (habajućem) sloju korišten TiO2 kao sastavna komponenta. Ploče za popločavanje od poroznog betona su kontaminirane ispušnim plinovima automobila te je preko njih puštena voda simulirajući oborinu. U procjednoj vodi su analizirane koncentracije otopljenog kisika, nitrata, nitrita, organskog ugljika (TOC), vodikovih iona te električna vodljivost vode. Zaključeno je da primjena TiO2 u gornjem sloju parkirališnih ploča za popločavanje može smanjiti pronos prometnog onečišćenja oborinskim vodama te da je najučinkovitiji TiO2 u prahu.

Professional accountants today face many challenges caused by many factors, most notably the evolution of information technology - the digital revolution. Professional accountants are required to possess specific knowledge and skills inherent to the accounting profession, as well as generic skills. Higher education in accounting is one of the fundamental forms of formal education that enables professional accountants to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills and to develop professional competence. In accounting education, understanding the role of the modern professional accountant required knowledge and skills, serves as the basis for establishing relevant teaching areas, units, and learning outcomes. Accounting education should consider market requirements related to the necessary skills and knowledge of professional accountants, and adjust accounting curriculum as well as teaching methods accordingly. In this regard, teaching methods are linked to learning outcomes and they should enable accounting graduates to acquire labour market- relevant skills and knowledge. There is a continuing need to adjust accounting education to market demands in the wake of ongoing academic discussions about the existing gap between accounting education and requirements of accounting practice. The aim of the paper is to explore current innovative teaching methods in higher education in accounting, with a particular focus on the means of integrating information technology (IT/ICT) into accounting education, based on a literature review of relevant sources. The paper also explores how innovative teaching methods affect the development of skills required of a modern professional accountant. The development of information technologies affects the content of education as well as teaching methods. A review of recent literature also focuses on analyzing the use of innovative teaching methods based on student attitudes and examines the level of information technology integration in accounting education and its impact on learning outcomes. The research findings contribute to the understanding of innovation in accounting education, summarizing new teaching methods and the impact of information technology in that context. These findings will primarily serve accounting educators by providing insight into innovative teaching methods and the extent of their current presence in accounting education, as well as their benefits.

The continuous development of information technology and its application in accounting has provided new opportunities but also numerous challenges for accounting practice. It is possible to identify a wide variety of information technologies that have had a significant impact on accounting in the 21st century but also certain constraints that have slowed the integration of information technology into accounting. The COVID- 19 pandemic dictates new business conditions and models that create numerous changes in business operations where the use of information technology has become extremely important for the survival of businesses. The changed conditions did not bypass the accounting profession either which also had to adapt to the new circumstances. This paper aims to analyze whether the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the integration of information technology into accounting and the transition to 'Accounting 4.0'. In this context, the paper analyzes various types of information technology that enabled accountants to become more efficient and effective with special emphasis on Cloud-based technology, Blockchain, and Artificial Intelligence. The paper also identifies the advantages and risks of information technology integration in accounting and future directions of integration. The fast development of information technologies creates a continuous need for accountants to acquire knowledge and skills related to new technologies. U ovome radu autori predstavljaju model diskretnog digitalnog monitoringa učinka građevinskih strojeva pomoću bespilotne letjelice (drona) u svrhu određivanja stvarnog učinka proizvodnje građevinskih strojeva, utjecaja na učinke i trend učinaka ostalih tehnologija na gradilištu te ukupnog trajanja proizvodnje. Model je primijenjen za monitoring građevinskog stroja utovarivača pri utovaru iskopanog materijala na gradilištu. Rezultati monitoringa su pokazali značajnu razliku između planskog i stvarnog učinka utovara uz brzu povratnu informaciju što omogućava reakciju menadžmenta pri reorganizaciji i racionalizaciji preostalog posla. Model je, unatoč visokoj ovisnosti o korisnikovom radu, tj. nižoj razini automatizacije pri transferu informacije, pokazao potencijal za daljnji razvoj naročito u smjeru automatizacije analize i transfera podataka prikupljenih monitoringom.

Accounting is part of the information system of a company that generates the most important information for the decision-making process. This process should be supported by new technologies to respond to all business requirements. Disruptive technologies change the way of performing business transactions and their implementation in business practice was notably accelerated by the pandemic. In this context, Blockchain technology has been articulated as the future of the accounting profession and there is a growing body of research regarding the impact of the blockchain on accounting practice and the accountancy profession. Many advantages arise from blockchain technology's distinctiveness, but also many risks that need special attention. Consequently, evolving conditions require professional accountants around the world to master new skills related to emerging information technologies. Being accustomed to information technologies is one of the basic prerequisites for the quality service that professional accountants offer to clients. Accounting education, especially at universities, has an important role in forming competent professional accountants and enabling required skills that are an essential part of professional competence. Accounting education has a challenging role in this context to incorporate and transfer knowledge regarding new technologies. This paper aims to analyse the recent research to investigate the impact of blockchain technology on accounting practice. The paper also focuses on the analyses of means of the inclusion of blockchain technology into accounting education and curriculum, by conducting a literature review of relevant sources. Research findings enable further understanding of the implications of blockchain technology in the accounting context, both for accounting practice and accounting education. Produženi boravak u školi vrlo je neistraženo područje odgoja i obrazovanja. U svojim početcima, produženi boravak bio je namijenjen učenicima koji trebaju pomoć u učenju, a u današnje vrijeme produženi boravak zaposlenim roditeljima nudi mogućnost zbrinjavanja njihove djece prije ili nakon redovne nastave. U produženom boravku rade učitelji, a radno vrijeme produženog boravka uglavnom je od 7 sati ujutro do 17 sati poslije podne. Često se govori kako je produženi boravak mjesto gdje se čuvaju djeca dok pišu domaću zadaću. Iz toga proizlazi pitanje jesu li učitelji zadovoljni ovakvim načinom rada. Upravo je cilj istraživanja bio: istražiti što uključuje rad učitelja u produženom boravku, pronaći prednosti i nedostatke, otkriti jesu li učitelji zadovoljni svojim radom ili bi radije radili u redovnoj nastavi gdje se njihov rad više cijeni. Rezultati istraživanja su pokazali kako je većina učitelja zadovoljna takvim načinom rada jer imaju veću slobodu u kreiranju odgojno – obrazovnog procesa, različitih aktivnosti, radionica i igara te imaju individualizirani pristup prema učenicima. Osim toga, rezultati su pokazali kako produženi boravak nije mjesto gdje se samo piše domaća zadaća i čuvaju djeca. Učitelji za učenike organiziraju razne radionice, projekte i aktivnosti koje provode u slobodno organiziranom vremenu, a u slobodno vrijeme učenici imaju priliku raditi ono što ih najviše zanima i veseli. The Mid–day school care is a very unexplored area of upbringing and education. In its beginning, the care was intended for students who need help with learning, and nowadays the extended stay allows employed parents the possibility of taking care of their children before or after school. Teachers usually work in the mid-day care with working hours from 7 AM to 8 AM and from 12 PM to 5 PM. It is often said that the Mid-day care is a place where children are watched over while they are doing homework. From this arises the question as to whether teachers are at all satisfied with this way of working. This was the goal of this research: investigate what the work of teachers in mid-day care includes, find advantages and disadvantages, find whether they are satisfied with their work or would they prefer to work in regular classes where their work is more appreciated. The research results show that most teachers are satisfied with this way of working because they have more freedom in creating the educational process, various activities, workshops, games, and have an individualized approach to students. In addition, the results showed that the mid-day care is not a place where only homework is written and the children are looked after. Teachers organize various workshops, projects and activities for students in their time out of school where the children have the opportunity to do what they are most interested.

Klasifikacija slika je jedan od ključnih predmeta razmatranja strojnog učenja i računalnog vida. Posljednjih godina najbolji rezultati klasifikacije postižu se uporabom konvolucijskih neuronskih mreža koje su detaljno opisane. Rad se osvrće na polazni model klasifikacije ljudskog lica koji određuje nose li osobe na slici masku na licu ili ne. Raznim postupcima, kao što su dodavanje broja ulaznih podataka, povećanje ulazne dimenzionalnosti podatka te izborom optimizacijskog algoritma učenja, provodi se poboljšanje učinkovitosti polaznog modela te se kao rezultat dobiva uspješniji model klasifikacije. Metode se analitički vrednuju i provjerava se njihov doprinos u cjelokupnoj uspješnosti modela. Korišteni alati u radu su programski modul TensorFlow-a Keras s pripadnim bibliotekama. Rad je pisan u programskom jeziku Python. Image classification is one of the key subjects when researching machine learning and computer vision. Lately, best results of classification are made using convolutional neural networks which are described in more detail. This paper looks at initial classification model which decides whether the person in the picture is or is not wearing a mask. Initial classification model is being improved using various procedures, such as adding input data, increasing dimensions of input data and choosing optimization learning algorithm. Procedures are being analytically evaluated and their contribution is being validated in model’s efficiency. Tools that have been used are TensorFlow’s high level application programming interface Keras with its library. Implementation is written in programming language Python.

Geografski informacijski sustav (GIS) korisna je tehnologija za upravljanje prostornim bazama podataka koje su osnova sustava za upravljanje kolnicima. Pri kreiranju sustava za upravljanje kolnicima u GIS-u treba uzeti u obzir potrebe i dostupna sredstva pojedine uprave za ceste. U radu je prikazana uspostava jednostavnog sustava za upravljanje i vođenje baze podataka za potrebe malih gradskih uprava. Baza podataka stvorena je ručnim prikupljanjem podataka o stanju kolnika nekoliko nerazvrstanih cesta u gradu Osijeku. Na osnovi prikupljenih podataka sustav proračunava PSI indeks i uspoređuje stanje kolnika., The Geographic Information System (GIS) is a useful technology for managing spatial databases, which are the basis of the Pavement Management System. When creating a pavement management system in GIS, the needs and available resources of individual road authorities should be considered. This paper describes establishment of a simple database management system for small city administrations. The database was created by manual collection of pavement condition data at several unclassified roads in the city of Osijek. Based on collected data, the system calculates the PSI index and compares pavement condition., Das geografische Informationssystem (GIS) ist eine nützliche Technologie für die Verwaltung der räumlichen Datenbanken, welche die Grundlage des Systems des Fahrbahnmanagements bildet. Bei der Entwicklung des Fahrbahnmanagementsystems im GIS müssen auch die Anforderungen und die Verfügbarkeit der Mittel einzelner Straßenverwaltungsbehörden berücksichtigt werden. In der Abhandlung werden die Einrichtung eines einfachen Systems für das Management und die Leitung der Datenbanken für die Bedürfnisse kleinerer städtischer Behörden. Die Datenbank wurde durch manuelles Zusammentragen von Daten über den Zustand von Fahrbahnen einiger nicht kategorisierter Straßen in der Stadt Osijek erstellt. Acinetobacter baumannii is a notorious hospital opportunistic pathogen that causes life- threatening infections worldwide [1]. It quickly acquires antibiotic resistance and survives adverse environmental conditions such as starvation [2], desiccation [2, 3] and a wide array of temperature and pH regimes [4]. The survival of one environmental (pan drug- resistant) and one clinical isolate (extensively-drug resistant) was monitored for the period of one year in commercially available spring water (SW) and diluted (1:100) nutrient broth (DNB). Isolates were incubated at 22 and 4°C at moderate oxygen saturation of 56%. Initial bacterial abundance determined on Muller-Hinton agar at 42°C/24h was 6.8 ± 0.1 log CFU/mL. Both A. baumannii isolates performed similar and survived for one year in tested conditions. Survival was slightly better in DNB than in SW, but without statistical significance. After one-year exposure to 22°C the average final abundance was 5.0 ± 0.2 log CFU/mL, while at 4°C the final abundance was 1.2 ± 0.3 log CFU/mL. Small translucent colony variants together with normal opaque colonies were recorded as the response to unfavourable temperature of 4°C. A. baumannii can survive in refrigerators as well as in suspensions kept at room temperature for a long time, which is important for its persistence and possible transmission in the hospital environment.

Acinetobacter baumannii has emerged as one of the most common nosocomial pathogens worldwide. This organism mostly targets the susceptible immunocompromised patients in ICUs where natural barriers are breached by trauma, surgery or mechanical support ventilation. MDR clinical isolates represent a major problem in the epidemiological and therapeutic sense and challenge for clinicians. Surveillance of carbapenem resistant isolates (which are also multiresistant) of A. baumannii in Croatia is continually monitored since in the last decade the percentage of carbepenem resistant isolates reached 97%. In addition to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia also recorded a significant increase in the incidence and prevalence in carbapenem resistant clinically relevant isolates of A. baumannii. The aim of this pilot study was to compare the genotype resemblance and resistance mechanism of 12 isolates of carbapenem resistant A. baumannii collected from three different hospitals in neighbouring countries in region of south-eastern Europe. First results of pilot study were presented on 12th Symposium on the biology of Acinetobacter in Frankfurt during September 2019.

Svakodnevno raste svjetska potreba za energijom čija se proizvodnja većinom temelji na iscrpljivanju neobnovljivih izvora. Spaljivanje različitih vrsta biomase jedan je od najčešćih načina proizvodnje energije iz obnovljivih izvora, a Republika Hrvatska obzirom na raspoloživo obradivo zemljište i pogodnu klimu ima sve predispozicije za razvoj ovakvog načina proizvodnje energije. U radu se prikazuje mogućnost primjene poljoprivredne biomase za proizvodnju energije u Republici Hrvatskoj s posebnim naglaskom na ogućnosti primjene otpadnog pepela u proizvodnji dva građevinska proizvoda: morta i stabiliziranog tla za primjenu u cestogradnji. Istaknute su i mogućnosti očuvanja okoliša primjenom pepela biomase kroz povoljan utjecaj na ugrađeni ugljik i ugrađenu energiju.

Every year in the world millions of tons of harvest residues are generated, such as corn stalks and corn cob blanks, wheat, soy and rice straw, sunflowers and rice husk. Those harvest residues can be used as a replacement for fossil fuels and represent a renewable energy source. Ash, which is generated by the combustion of harvest residues, is usually deposited in landfills, causing environment pollution and potential human health risks. Such a state is a consequence of non-existent bio-ash management and the absence of pollution control. In order to promote biomass as an energy source, available quantities of agricultural biomass in Croatia and Serbia are presented. Heating power of various harvest residues is determined and compared to the heating power of standard energy sources. The possibilities of using biomass ash as waste material in the building industry are outlined. Different kind of biomass ashes can be successfully used to replace cement in mortars and concrete and have a positive influence on geotechnical properties of soil. Preliminary results of ash application suggest that these ashes exhibit the potential for use in the building industry, but due to differences in their characteristics, each of them needs to be investigated in more detail.

Pervious concrete, also known as permeable concrete is a material with the same basic components as the standard concrete, but designed to have high porosity. This basic property of pervious concrete accounts for its primary advantages and disadvantages. Low mechanical properties, but remarkable drainage properties make it a desirable green pavement solution for specific areas. Properly designed and installed pervious concrete pavement presents an optimal solution for low volume areas and particularly bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. The aim of here presented research is to determine compositions of pervious concrete which enable adequate mechanical and drainage properties. A specific objective is drainage assessment of different pervious concrete mixtures, in order to define its optimal composition. Finally, pervious concrete as a pavement material is characterized utilizing digital image correlation, a new and modern research technique.

The typical properties of pervious concrete are good drainage, high noise absorption, ability to reduce urban heat islands, poor mechanical characteristics, low abrasion, and freeze–thaw resistance. The clogging phenomenon is an essential factor that must be taken into account when using and maintaining pervious concrete as it can reduce permeability significantly. In fact, because of its open structure, pervious concrete acts as a filter, retaining sediments, organic matter, chemicals, and other contaminants flushed through it during a precipitation event. This paper addresses the clogging problem of pervious concrete by using commercially available polymers and testing their influence on its mechanical properties. Five mixtures of pervious concrete, with and without polymers incorporated (polypropylene fibers, latex, and reactive impregnation), were prepared, and their properties in the hardened state (compressive and flexural strength) were compared. Draining capability was tested on pervious concrete slabs before and after their contamination in order to determine the influence of certain polymers on pore clogging. It was concluded that the addition of all types of studied polymers improved compressive strength when used separately but not when combined. As expected, compared to a reference mixture, polypropylene fibers slightly improved flexural strength, whereas reactive impregnation decreased it, and the use of latex did not result in any changes. In every case, the addition of the tested polymers improved the ratio of infiltration rates after and before clogging compared to the reference mixture, indicating that the use of polymers in pervious concrete could retard pore clogging.

96. Agricultural biomass as an opportunity for circular economy in Croatia

Purpose of the work ; Approach ; The problems facing Croatia are low competitiveness, poor connections between companies and inadequate disposal of the remains of agricultural crops - biomass. The presentation would present Eco build project whose task was networking scientific organizations with the industry by creating a network of owners and potential users of agricultural biomass/ash. Agricultural biomass is here considered to be residual in the fields after harvesting crops. The task here was to establish co-operation between agriculturists who own agricultural biomass and the local industry that would use this biomass as a substitute for commonly used energy sources and establish cooperation between the local companies, where burning of agricultural mass would produce ashes which could be used by the construction industry in building products. Scientific innovation and relevance ; Result ; Available quantities of agricultural biomass in Croatia for a five-year period range from 2 901 197 to 4 025 889 tonnes per year, up to 10 times the amount compared to the amount of available forest waste that the current biomass power plants use as an energy source. Taking into account that a part of the agricultural biomass should be left on the fields in order to preserve the quality of agricultural soils, there are still large quantities of unused biomass. Redirecting surplus agricultural biomass to the local industry would also benefit the agriculturists who own it and the industry that uses it. Namely, redundant biomass is currently trapped in fields or being burned by agriculturists, which pollutes the environment. By selling their biomass to the industry sector, agriculturists would gain financial benefits. On the other hand, agricultural biomass is a waste product and is expected to be sold at a lower cost than conventional energy sources, which would bring savings to the energy industry. By burning agricultural biomass for energy large amounts of ash are generated, that needs to be taken care of. In order to promote agricultural biomass as an energy source, its heating power is determined and compared to the heating power of standard energy sources. The use of biomass ashes has been explored in concrete, mortar, stabilized soil and reinforced concrete beam and research results were promising. Conclusions. According to the research results, agricultural biomass as energy source is similar to wood chips and the ash of agricultural biomass has potential to be used in civil engineering products.

97. Multidrug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii – a decade of the successful clone in Croatia

Among the “ESKAPE“ group of serious pathogens Acinetobacter baumannii is under a great concern worldwide. This microorganism has become a leading nosocomial pathogen of the 21th century, and numerous studies are focused on the epidemiology, resistance and control measures of this pathogen in the hospital setting. The epidemiology and molecular basis of resistance of clinical isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii in Croatia over the last two decades has changed significantly in most health institutions, with a high percentage of resistance to carbapenems, quinolones and aminoglycosides, and the presence of multiresistant isolates. Research into the resistance of this microorganism as an important hospital pathogen began in Croatia in 2002. on isolates from UHC Split, where the basis of reduced susceptibility to carbapenems was studied molecularly. Genotyping of the first clinical isolates with reduced susceptibility to one or both carbapenems proved the presence of European clone 1 (later called International IC1) from 2002. to 2008. In early 2009., an epidemic spread of a new clone belonging to IC2 occurred. The characteristics of A. baumannii belonging to the new clone are easy to detect in routine susceptibility testing as this isolate shows resistance to both carbapenem antibiotics with high levels of minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC> 32 mg/L) on imipenem and meropenem. This new clone belonging to IC2 with confirmed epidemiological transmission from neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, also referred to as the Mostar Clone in its first published citations, is today predominantly present in most healthcare institutions in Croatia. In epidemiological terms, this new clone completely suppressed isolates belonging to IC1 from 2002. and has become dominant clone in almost all health care institutions in Croatia.

Clostridioides difficile kolonizira crijeva zdrave novorođenčadi vrlo brzo po rođenju. Može se izolirati iz stolice 80% zdrave djece i 3% odraslih ljudi te se smatra oportunističkim patogenom. Postotak koloniziranih osoba značajno raste u bolničkim uvjetima, proporcionalno s brojem bolničkih dana i antibiotskim liječenjem Nedavno je izdvojen iz roda Clostridium i svrstan u zaseban rod Clostridioides. Može uzrokovati asimptomatske infekcije i blage postantibiotske proljeve, ali i teške infekcije s letalnim ishodom, kao što su pseudomembranozni kolitis i toksični megakolon. Epidemiologija Clostridioides difficile infekcija (CDI) se značajno promijenila posljednja dva desetljeća. Porast udjela bolničkih pacijenata starijih od 65 godina, nesvrsishodna primjena antibiotika širokog spektra te pojava novih hipervirulentnih genotipova (PCR-ribotipova 027 i 078), pridonijeli su povišenju stope incidencije CDI u bolnicama, ali i težine kliničke slike.

Change is inevitable in accountancy as in all professions. In this case, it implies a broader set of responsibilities for professional accountants. Among the many causes of change, the development of technology is certainly one of the most significant cause. Adapting to change is a prerequisite for survival. This adjustment for professional accountants means constantly acquiring new knowledge and developing new skills and attitudes. Due to the changing conditions in which professional accountants operate, the nature of the knowledge and skills that they require in order to be able to face the challenges, and the meaning of the term competent professional accountant today require thorough re-examination. Hence, the main research question in this paper is, what knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSAs) are essential for a professional accountant of today? According to the research conducted over the last three decades there is no clear consensus on the required KSAs that are expected from accounting professionals by all involved parties: academics, accounting professionals and employers. The main objective of this paper is to analyse the KSAs of the accounting professionals that have been promoted by the prominent international professional accountancy bodies (PABs) and associations. It analyses the requirements stipulated in the most recent competency frameworks issued for all accounting professionals as well as the specific requirements issued for management accountants, the public sector, audit professionals, internal auditors, and accounting technicians, as well as for the students entering the accounting profession. The paper aims to provide a review of the prerequisite knowledge, skills and attitudes of professional accountants in order to identify the expectations for professional accountants and the aspiring professional accountants that will serve as a basis for providing the recommendations for accounting education in the given context. Integrirana revizija podrazumijeva sveobuhvatan pristup koji znači zajedničko razmatranje nekoliko različitih aspekata poput financijskog, operativnog i aspekta usklađenosti. Provođenje integrirane revizije može utjecati na povećanje učinkovitosti i djelotvornosti interne revizije kroz povećanje stupnja ostvarenja njezinih ciljeva.
