56. HC-SCR: NOx Reduction using Mn and Cu Catalysts Impregnated in Coconut and Palm Kernel Shell Activated Carbon

Abstract

The characteristics of catalysts impregnated in coconut shell (CS) and palm kernel shell (PKS) activated carbon were determined as potential precursors of catalysts used in a flue gas denitrification system at low temperature. In this study, Manganese (Mn) and Copper (Cu) with metal loading of 8% were impregnated in the activated carbon (AC) before undergoing low temperature calcination process. The morphological properties of samples was analysed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET) was used to determine the surface area and pore size of samples. The exhaust gas from a diesel engine at a constant flow rate of 4L/min was passed through in a fixed-bed catalytic reactor containing the catalyst, and the concentration of NOx was measured for temperatures ranging from 150°C to 250°C. It was found that the CS catalysts (CS-Mn and CS-Cu) and PKS catalysts (PKS-Mn and PKS-Cu) have the potential to reduce NOx concentration, and results showed that the metal loading of 8% resulted NOx reduction ranging from ~48% to 64%.

Abstract

Al Quran Hadis teachers’ strategy in improving the students’ skill in memorizing Juz Amma.This research is motivated by education at this time facing and using sophisticated technology. This greatly affects the growth of learners in the learning process, especially in memorizing the juz Amma in the holy Quran. This study aims to analyze: 1) What strategies that teachers use in improving learners' ability to memorize Juz' Amma. 2) what strategies are used by teachers Alquran Hadith In maintaining the memorization of learners. This research is descriptive qualitative, which is to accurately explain the data found in the field that is then analyzed critically and described narratively, by looking for objects as they are originally founded. Data sources are obtained from interviews, field observations, documentation, archives, and other official documents. The results show that the strategies used are Wahdah (reciting the Quran) and Jama' (Repeating Readings). The strategy of the teacher of Alquran hadith in maintaining memorization in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muthi'ul Haady Bogo Rejo is through reading the surah that has been deposited when performing prayers, then by connecting the verses done with the teacher first read a verse or several verses and students imitate it. The last strategy to keep memorization is by helping friends in learning by heart.Abstrak: Strategi Guru Alquran Hadis Dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Siswa Menghafal Juz Amma.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pendidikan pada saat ini yang berlangsung dengan penggunaan teknologi yang canggih. Hal demikian sangat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran khususnya dalam menghafal juz Amma. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: 1) Strategi apa yang digunakan guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam menghafal Juz Amma. 2) strategi apa yang digunakan oleh guru Alquran Hadis dalam menjaga hafalan peserta didik. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif yaitu menjelaskan data-data secara akurat yang ditemukan dilapangan yang selanjutnya di analisis secara kritis dan di deskripsikan secara naratif. Sumber data diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, observasi lapangan, dokumentasi, dan dokumen resmi lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang digunakan ialah Wahdah yaitu memperbanyak bacaan Alquran dan Jama’ yaitu mengulang bacaan. Strategi guru Alquran hadis dalam menjaga hafalan di Madrsah Ibtidaiyah Muthi’ul Haady Bogo Rejo ialah dengan cara menganjurkan siswa membaca surah yang sudah disetorkan ketika melaksanakan shalat, kemudian dengan cara menyambung ayat yang dilakukan dengan guru terlebih dahulu membacakan satu ayat atau beberapa ayat dan siswa menirukannya. Abstract

Nanotechnology is a science that deals with objects measuring 1-100 nm that are different from their original properies. Nano-technology ferilizers are more reacive and on target with minimum use. Nanotechnology ferilizers can be utilized as slow-release ferilizers, allowing for optimum ferilizer uptake by plants. Because of the holes that can store nitrogen ferilizers, zeolite and bovine bone can be utilized as ferilizer coatings. This study was conducted at Universitas Gadjah Mada's Faculty of Agriculture. The research method used was a 2X5 factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with each treatment being repeated 3 times so that the total polybags used were 30 polybags. The first factor was the type of coating material for urea, nano zeolite, and nano bovine bone. The second factor consisted of a dose of coated urea ferilizer with five kinds of dose treatments, which were 0, 100, 200, 300, and 400 kg.ha-1. ANOVA was used to analyze parameter data, followed by testing using the DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test). When compared to nano bovine bone, the effectiveness of N removal with nano zeolite generated the best results as a slow-release ferilizer on N uptake. The best N fertilization dose with nano zeolite coating was 200 kg.ha-1, which increased corn plant growth by producing the highest plant height (167.17 cm) and N uptake of 1.6 g/plant. This research can be a recommendation for more effective and efficient Nitrogen fertilization for corn farmers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The certification policy is a “fresh air” for the welfare of teachers in Indonesia. Likewise, the establishment of this policy does not necessarily guarantee and significantly change the quality of education in Indonesia. This paper analyzes teacher perceptions of teacher certification policies in improving the quality of education. The focus of the discussion of this study is how the teacher's perception of RA Ali Mahfudz about teacher certification policies in improving the quality of education. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection techniques used are structured interviews, participant observation and documentation studies. The results of this study indicate that (1) the teacher certification policy has an important role in improving the quality of education, it is based on the main objective of this policy as an effort to prosper teachers, train teacher skills, improve teacher competence and professionalism. Likewise, (2) there are several problems in the field, namely the orientation of teachers to the welfare of life and teaching is limited to obligations.

Abstract

Improving Ability to Complete the Problem of the Story by Using the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) Learning Model in Mathematics Learning at Class V SDN 101769 Tembung. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in the ability to solve story problems in mathematics using the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning model on the multiplication and fraction division material in VB class SD Negeri 101769 Tembung. This type of research is classroom action research with 32 research subjects in Class V SD Negeri 101769 Tembung. The results of data analysis of 32 students obtained a significant increase from the initial test to posttest I and followed up in the second cycle with the acquisition of the ability to solve story questions for the very low category of 2 students (6.25%), low category 1 student (3.125% ), the medium category was 4 students (12.5%), the high category was 6 students (18.75%), and the very high category was 19 students (59.375%), with a claxical average of 87.87. Based on the results of the above analysis it can be concluded that using the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning model can improve the ability to solve story problems in mathematics subjects in class V SD Negeri 101769 Tembung.Keyword: Ability to Solve Story Problems, Fractions, Realistic Mathematic EducationAbstrak: Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menyelesaikan Soal Cerita Dengan Menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) Pada Mata Pelajaran Matematika di Kelas V SDN 101769 Tembung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita pada mata pelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) pada materi perkalian dan pembagian pecahan di kelas VB SD Negeri 101769 Tembung. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek penelitian 32 siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 101769 Tembung. Hasil analisis data dari 32 siswa diperoleh tedapat peningkatan secara signifikan dari tes awal ke posttest I dan ditindaklanjuti pada siklus II dengan perolehan nilai kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita untuk kategori sangat rendah sebanyak 2 siswa (6,25%), kategori rendah 1 siswa (3,125%), kategori sedang 4 siswa (12,5%), kategori tinggi 6 siswa (18,75%), dan kategori sangat tinggi 19 siswa (59,375%), dengan rata-rata klaksikal sebesar 87,87. Berdasarkan hasil analisis di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita pada mata pelajaran matematika di kelas V SD Negeri 101769 Tembung.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Menyelesaikan Soal Cerita, Pecahan, RealisticMathematic Education

Hence, many heuristic and meta-heuristic approaches have been introduced to solve these problems. However, some institutions look for a method that can deal with a wide range of scheduling problems without spending a lot of money and times as long the solutions produced are acceptable.

Abstract

Background and Purpose: Charcoal is a residue that occurs from the results of decomposition of wood due to heat when most of the chemical components are carbon. One method of making wood charcoal is to use a stove. Charcoal is an important factor in determining the sustainability of the lives of surrounding communities that have long been running. Therefore the purpose of this study is to create a strategy based on the SWOT analysis to see if the charcoal business using mangrove forests can proceed or not. Materials and Methods: Analysis of sustainable development strategies using SWOT Analysis which is one of the analyses used to formulate a strategy in an area of development. This analysis consists of 4 basic elements, namely strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. These four elements come from two main factors: internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and threats). While the stages in the SWOT analysis. Results: Analysis of public perception of the existence of charcoal trading business in the Bengkalis District gave a “Good response” with a score of 2.66. These results illustrate that the existence of a charcoal trading business does not provide a bad impact as long as it is in a location around a mangrove forest. The results obtained in the SWOT matrix diagram are in the fourth quadrant; show that the priority of the strategy is the Strength (S) and Threats (T) strategies. The components in these two strategies need to get more emphasis and attention so that the existence of a charcoal trading business can be sustainable. Conclusion: The public perception of the charcoal long-standing regulation in the” Bengkalis Regency” is in the “Good category” which is a prerequisite in the development of continuous charcoal. The strategy for sustainable charcoal development is in quadrant IV, namely the S-T strategy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran group investigation dapat Meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pelajaran IPA di kelas V. Tahun Pelajaran 2013 / 2014. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi dan angket yang terdiri dari 4 opsional, yakni sangat sering, sering, jarang, dan tidak pernah. Dari hasil pengujian instrumen yakni validitas dan reabilitas maka diperoleh 12 item valid dari masing-masing variabel. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kelompok dengan menggunakan rumus P=f/n x 100%, Berdasarkan analisis operasional dan variable bahwa operasional motivasi belajar, Sedangkan variabel group investigation yang ditandai dengan aspek tekun & ulet, aspek minat, aspek mandiri, dan aspek hasrat berada pada kategori baik. Hasil uji data antara kedua variabel tersebut diperoleh: P = 23,33 % sampai 93,33% Maka hipotesis yang berbunyi terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar siswa dengan model pembelajaran group investigation di sekolah dasar negeri di kecamatan lubuk pakam, tahun pelajaran 2013/2014, diterima.
