O texto que segue busca realizar conexões entre certos aspectos problematizados no decorrer do Colóquio Internacional de Educação e Visualidades, a partir das reflexões que emergem da investigação doutoral à qual me dedico. Procuro entrecruzar à temática do colóquio, “Incômodos”, meus interesses de pesquisa, na medida em que explicito alguns dos percursos realizados até então: a perspectiva narrativa autobiográfica, como possibilidade metodológica; a cultura visual enquanto posicionamento epistemológico; e os deslocamentos enquanto temática que permeia toda a discussão proposta na investigação doutoral.

A questão ambiental, que tem sido percebida em toda a extensão da sociedade e largamente discutida nas salas de aula, é abordada neste trabalho com foco na análise dos diferentes tipos de solo e na prática da compostagem como alternativa para o manejo sustentável do cultivo de vegetais. A compostagem doméstica foi a prática escolhida para ser desenvolvida pelo 4º ano da Escola Pio XII. Inicialmente, estudaram-se as características de cada tipo de solo e promoveu-se uma reflexão sobre a quantidade de lixo produzido pelos centros urbanos. Em seguida elaborou-se uma exposição teórica sobre o processo de compostagem, os problemas decorrentes da inadequada disposição do lixo e a importância dos decompositores na reciclagem da matéria. Partindo para a prática, foi disponibilizado pela direção um local de fácil acesso para a construção da composteira. Optou-se por construí-la no próprio solo, constituindo-se de 3 buracos medindo 3m3 cada, e cuidadosamente cobertos com armações de lona e madeira. Após a adequação do local, partiuse para a identificação, através de pesquisas, dos resíduos que poderiam ser compostados e quais seriam inadequados. O projeto ainda não se encontra totalmente concluído, sendo a etapa em andamento a de monitoramento e armazenagem dos resíduos orgânicos. Os alunos têm se revezado em “visitas” à composteira, a fim de revolver o material e introduzir o ar atmosférico, rico em oxigênio e consumido pelos microrganismos presentes no composto.Apesar do projeto ainda estar em andamento, já é possível analisar que os alunos passaram a observar com mais atenção as questões relacionadas ao desperdício de recursos naturais e a importância de se encontrar alternativas criativas e viáveis que, no mínimo, amenizem certos impactos ambientais. Assim, visualiza-se na “prática” como a natureza é capaz de regenerarse em um ciclo perfeito, cabendo ao ser humano a simples e imprescindível missão de respeitar.

O presente artigo tem por principais objetivos pensar o campo do estágio supervisionado, problematizando e investigando questões decorrentes do projeto desenvolvido na disciplina de Metodologia do Ensino e aplicado entre alunos de Ensino Médio, durante o último semestre do curso de Licenciatura em Artes Visuais, na disciplina Estágio Curricular Supervisionado. O referido estágio foi desenvolvido no Colégio Técnico Industrial de Santa Maria, com uma turma de 34 alunos de primeiro ano, durante cinco semanas, com dois períodos de 50 minutos. No decorrer do processo de tornar-se professor, diferentes situações fizeram-se presentes, conferindo ao estágio uma riqueza de frutos a serem colhidos e experimentados pela primeira vez, configurando tal experiência como algo inusitado e singular.

ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease considerably compromises communication skills. Language changes become more prominent as the disease progresses. Deterioration of language and cognition reduces the ability of holding conversations, which has a negative impact on social interaction. OBJECTIVE: To conduct a systematic review of the literature for articles reporting interventions focused on the language and communication of people with Alzheimer's disease (AD) without use of medication. METHODS: We performed a search using the keywords Alzheimer's disease, language, communication, cognition, cognitive intervention, rehabilitation and therapy, and their corresponding Portuguese and Spanish terms, on the SciELO, LILACS, PubMed and PsychINFO databases. We analyzed intervention studies published from 1993 to 2016 that involved stimulation of language skills and/or communication with pre-and post-intervention quantitative results, and whose samples included at least 50% with a diagnosis of probable AD. Studies were analyzed and classified into four levels of evidence, according to the criteria described in the literature. RESULTS: Twenty-eight articles were included. The majority of the designs had medium-to-low scientific evidence. Most interventions showed benefits for at least one language or communicative skill. Eight types of interventions emerged from the analysis of the studies. Further research with higher levels of evidence is recommended in the investigation of interventions focused on language and communication skills of patients with dementia. CONCLUSION: Studies with high levels of evidence on the topic investigated are only being conducted on a small scale. Two intervention techniques seem potentially effective: lexical-semantic approaches and interventions that work with different cognitive skills (including language).

O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o papel da Libras nas práticas de ensino de inglês para surdos de uma professora-pesquisadora, em contextos de salas de aula específicas de surdos. Trata-se de um estudo de caso que busca interpretar essas práticas à luz do referencial teórico das abordagens de ensino de surdos (oralismo, comunicação total e bilinguismo) e das abordagens de ensino de LE (método tradução-gramática, método audiolingual e ensino comunicativo de línguas). Concluiu-se que a Libras teve o papel de principal mediadora das práticas de ensino/aprendizagem de inglês para/por surdos, aqui investigadas, pois é ela quem dá real significação a essas práticas. Este trabalho vem ainda defender a articulação entre a abordagem bilíngue de educação de surdos e o ECL para o ensino de inglês escrito para surdos.

RESUMO Este trabalho pretende investigar o desenvolvimento de estratégias de comunicação na escrita de surdos em inglês e em português. Para isso, ministrou-se um curso de inglês em dois módulos: 120h/a (iniciante) e 80h/a (pré-intermediário), no qual a Libras foi a língua de instrução. Participaram doze surdos no módulo I e oito no módulo II. Trata-se de um estudo de caso longitudinal com análise qualiquantitativa dos dados. De forma geral, os dados sugerem que houve um estímulo ao uso de estratégias de comunicação na escrita em inglês e em português, principalmente na primeira metade do curso. Além disso, na segunda metade do curso, a dependência da Libras e do português nos textos em inglês (e da Libras nos textos em português) diminuiu, indicando que houve aquisição de conhecimentos linguísticos em inglês e em português.

This research seeks to understand the link between urban heat island and urban cool island, which are the Local Climatic Zones (LCZ) and atmospheric systems during the winter season in the city of Balneário Camboriú, Southern Brazil. First, meteorological data on the urban environment was collected at 11 permanent points in the Balneário Camboriú metropolitan region. Next, a synoptic analysis of the dates was performed to understand the atmospheric systems operating in the region. Finally, the LCZs map created for the city in the World Urban Database and Access Portal Tools was used to correlate the magnitudes of the heat and cool islands found in Balneário Camboriú in the winter period. The results indicate that the increasing verticalization as a result of the construction of skyscrapers in Balneário Camboriú has a significant influence on local conditions for the occurrence of heat and cold islands. The findings indicate that LCZs with sparsely distributed buildings (LCZs 6, 8 and 9) and LCZs with dense vegetation (LCZ A) have lower intensity magnitudes of heat and cool conditions. The biggest magnitudes of heat and cool islands were reported in LCZs 1 and 3 during the timeframe. The synoptic analysis supports earlier research that points to atmospheric stability (Anticyclonic domain) as a favorable atmospheric setting for the emergence of urban heat and coolness islands. Abstract Fasciolosis is caused by Fasciola hepatica that affects the bile ducts and liver parenchyma of ruminants, which can result in economic loss. This study aimed to carry out the validity of the commercial kit ELISA® indirect front of the simple fecal sedimentation test used as the standard. 143 samples were collected blood and feces of cattle from Jerome, south of the Espírito Santo. Serum samples were left at -80 °C and used to perform the ELISA kit IDEXX®. All animals to stool examinations were also positive to the ELISA (22) and negative samples to test stool (121), 52 animals reacted positively against the antibody research. The frequency of fasciolosis was 15.4% in the stool examinations and 51.8% by ELISA. The validity was calculated by sensitivity (100%), specificity (57%), positive predictive value (29%) and negative predictive value (100%), and the correlation between the tests calculated using the kappa index of 0.35. The better sensitivity of the ELISA commercial kit should not be a separately evaluated, since the cost benefit and the technical facility must be considered.

The exponential growth of urban populations and city infrastructure globally presents distinct patterns, impacting climate change forecasts and urban climates. This study conducts a systematic review of the literature focusing on human thermal comfort (HTC) in outdoor urban environments. The findings indicate a significant surge in studies exploring HTC in open urban spaces in recent decades. While historically centered on Northern Hemisphere cities, there is a recent shift, with discussions extending to various metropolitan contexts in the Southern Hemisphere. Commonly employed urban categorization systems include Sky View Factor (SVF), Height × Width (H/W) ratio, and the emerging Local Climate Zones (LCZs), facilitating the characterization of urban areas and their usage. Various thermal indices, like Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET), Predicted Mean Vote (PMV), Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI), and Standard Effective Temperature (SET), are frequently utilized in evaluating external HTC in metropolitan areas. These indices have undergone validation in the literature, establishing their reliability and applicability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
