Abstract

26th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 2855-2859, High efficiency solar cells based on Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) typically comprise Cu-poor ([Cu]/[III]1) absorber shows better electronic properties such as low defect densities, less fluctuating potentials and high carrier mobility. However better electronic properties do not directly reflect to the device performance due to the interface recombination of the Cu-rich device. In this work, we investigated the effect of a surface treatment by co-evaporation of indium and selenium on the “Cu-rich” CuInSe2 absorber to form Cu-poorer surface. The performance of the solar cells indicated that In-Se treatment could improve the open circuit voltage by reducing the reverse saturation current. The efficiency of surface treated device achieved 12.0 %, improved from 9.5 % efficiency of untreated device. In addition, it was confirmed from temperature dependent current-voltage measurement that this treatment could suppress interface recombination. Thus we here show that a decent efficient solar cell can be achieved using surface treated absorbers grown under Cu-excess, which now opens the path to higher efficiency solar cells.

Abstract

We present a group theoretical analysis of the hypercubic lattice described by the affine Coxeter-Weyl group Wa (Bn). An h-fold symmetric quasicrystal structure follows from the hyperqubic lattice whose point group is described by the Coxeter-Weyl group W (Bn) with the Coxeter number h=2n. Higher dimensional cubic lattices are explicitly constructed for n = 4,5,6 by identifying their rank-3 Coxeter subgroups and maximal dihedral subgroups. Decomposition of their Voronoi cells under the respective rank-3 subgroups W (A3), W (H2)×W (A1) and W (H3)lead to the rhombic dodecahedron, rhombic icosahedron and rhombic triacontahedron respectively. Projection of the lattice B4 describes a quasicrystal structure with 8-fold symmetry. The B5 lattice leads to quasicrystals with both 5fold and 10 fold symmetries. The lattice B6 projects on a 12-fold symmetric quasicrystal as well as a 3D icosahedral quasicrystal depending on the choice of subspace of projections. The projected sets of lattice points are compatible with the available experimental data.

69. Sub-bandgap photoconductivity and photocapacitance in CIGS thin films and devices

Abstract

Photoconductivity and photocapacitance of Cu(In,Ga)Se(2) and CuGaSe(2) thin films and devices induced by sub-bandgap illumination are investigated. Both effects have been attributed to the optical transition from valence band to the same empty levels situated around 0.8-0.9 eV above the valence band. The influence of the metastable states created by illumination and voltage bias on the sub-bandgap response has been studied. The experimental results are discussed in the framework of a model based on negative-U property of a native defect in chalcopyrites, i.e. V(Se)-V(Cu) divacancy. The arguments are presented that the levels involved in the optical transition observed in photoconductivity and photocapacitance might be antibonding levels of the acceptor configuration of this defect.

Abstract

The strong and consistent relationship between criminal involvement and victimization is one of the most persistent documented findings within criminological research. However, there is little study on the nature and extent of why this overlap exists with even less research focusing on the perspective of the offenders who identify themselves as victims. The current study analyzes the personal experiences of female offenders at the Greene County Jail, Missouri. Our findings indicate a substantial overlap in lifestyle and risk behavior of female offenders who also identify as victims of crime. Important theoretical and policy implications are discussed.

Abstract

Recombinant pMMEx-bovine leukemia virus env gene DNA fragments were produced and expressed in eukaryotic cells. Clone C4, containing an SmaI-SmaI fragment of the gene coding for gp51, was co-transfected with pSV2neo DNA into Chinese hamster cells. About 800 geneticin-resistant cell clones were isolated and then morphologically and biologically characterized. The presence of gp51 encoding env gene fragments was detected in 17 of them by Southern blotting. The expression of gp51 gene in hamster cells was confirmed by Western blotting of their lysates with monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) directed against different epitopes of gp51 of bovine leukemia virus. The immunoreactivity of the expressed peptides with MAbs directed against neutralizing epitopes of gp51 of bovine leukemia virus was confirmed.

Abstract

In recent years, correctional and community agencies have developed and promoted an array of policies and programs aimed at successfully facilitating the offender transition from prison to community. One model, the Reentry Partnership Initiative (RPI), emphasizes building collaborative partnerships in an effort to deliver a coordinated and continuous stream of supervision, services, and support during the transitional process and includes institutional, structured reentry, and community reintegration phases. The current study evaluates the outcome of an RPI-style model called the Missouri Prisoner Reentry Initiative (MPRI). The impact of MPRI participation was examined by comparing the reimprisonment of two MPRI treatment groups to the reimprisonment of a reference group having no MPRI involvement. The MPRI groups consisted of (a) offenders entering all MPRI phases and (b) offenders receiving MPRI assistance exclusively inside prison. MPRI was not successful in reducing reimprisonment for males but had benefits for females who entered all MPRI phases. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
