Firstly, we prove the Spanne type boundedness of M-rho from the space LMp,phi 1{x0} to another LMq,phi 2{x0} 1 < p < q < infinity and from LM1,phi 1{x0} to the weak space WLMq,phi 2{x0} for p = 1 and 1 < q < infinity. Secondly, we prove the Adams type boundedness of M-rho from the space M-p,M-phi 1/p to another M-q,M-phi 1/q for 1 < p < q < infinity and from to the weak M-1,M-phi, space M-q,M-phi 1/q for p = 1 and 1 < q < infinity. In this paper, the necessary and sufficient conditions are found for the boundedness of the Riesz potential I α {I_{\alpha}} in the local Morrey–Lorentz spaces M p , q ; λ loc ⁢ ( ℝ n ) {M_{p,q;{\lambda}}^{\mathrm{loc}}({\mathbb{R}^{n}})} . This result is applied to the boundedness of particular operators such as the fractional maximal operator, fractional Marcinkiewicz operator and fractional powers of some analytic semigroups on the local Morrey–Lorentz spaces M p , q ; λ loc ⁢ ( ℝ n ) {M_{p,q;{\lambda}}^{\mathrm{loc}}({\mathbb{R}^{n}})} .

The objective of this study was to determine the seroprevalance of canine brucellosis and toxoplasmosis in female and male dogs and also determine the realtionship to various factors as parity, abortion and pyometra. Brucella canis is a disease of the reproductive tract that may cause late abortion, infertility and fail of conception with optimum insemination time in females and infection of the sexual organs in males. Toxoplasma gondii is an important obligate intracellular protozoan parasite which can affect all warm-blooded mammals and humans which may cause fatal diseases with severe problems, such as abortion. As a result, in this study B. canis was determined in low seroprevalence in some cases on the island (North Cyprus), T. gondii was determined as an important contagious parasite. Also reproductive parameters like parity, spaying, cyclicity could be important too and it was presented that extended evaluation of these factors is needed with further studies.

Dilation of one or both ventricles and systolic dysfunction occur dilated cardiomyopathy. Hypocalcemia is a rare cause of reversible heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy. A seventeen-day old male infant was brought to our clinic with complaints of poor feeding and convulsion. On physical examination, the patient had worse general appearance and was apathetic. Examination of cardiovascular system revealed 2/6 diastolic murmur and signs of congestive heart failure. The value of serum calcium was 4.8 mg / dL. Cerebrospinal fluid examination was unremarkable. Echocardiographic evaluation showed enlarged heart chambers and globally hypokinetic left ventricular wall. Left ventricular ejection fraction was 39% and shortening fraction was 17%. After the treatment of calcium gluconate, a clinically dramatic improvement was observed. On the second day of hospitalization, the echocardiographic examination was normal. Therefore, we suggest that sermon calcium level in newborn with cardiomyopathy should be measured.

Aile İşletmeleri günümüzde hem ülkemizde hem de dünyada çok büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Aile işletmelerinin dünya ekonomisindeki payı %85 civarında bulunmaktadır. Ülkemizdeki işletmelerin ise %95 i aile işletmelerinden oluşmaktadır. Gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerde aile işletmeleri hem ekonomi alanında hem de sosyal ve kültürel alanda önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu çalışmanın amacı ise, farklı ülkelerde eğitim gören üniversite öğrencilerinin aile işletmesi algılarını değerlendirmektir. Bu amaçla, Stratejik Boyut, Yönetim Boyutu, Düşünce Boyutu, Kişisel Boyut ve Bireyin Gelişim Boyutu olarak Karabük Üniversitesi ile Universidad De Castilla-La Mancha da eğitim gören öğrencilerin algıları arasında farklılık olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada anket yönetimiyle elde edilen veriler frekans ve faktör analizi yöntemiyle elde edilmiştir. It is difficult to resolve such a conflict without an institutional support. Thus, some organizations have started to carry out family friendly policies to help their employees in balancing their work and family life. Studies show that Implementations such as flexible working hours and part-time job options increase women employees’ motivation, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Thus family friendly policies have positive effects on organizations and societies as well employees. In this context, we argue that family-friendly policies should be developed in accordance with the social and cultural structure of our country and these policies should be encouraged by the government.

Seven days after 14-days interval PGF2a estrus synchronization protocol, CL positive animals were assigned either to a control group (AP-, n=10) or to an AP group (AP+, n=10) stimulated by using B22 and B23 sensitive acupoints. LS and LBF examinations were carried out before the stimulation (0h) and at 1st, 3rd, 6th hour on d7 and thereafter on d9, d10, d11, d12 and d13 following the AP stimulation in each group with a portable color Doppler ultrasonography. The aim of the study is to determine the ethical concept of the companies’ statements and correlations with each other. Therefore, content analysis with quantitative methods were applied to the formal and written documents of 192 companies. In addition, corporate characteristics were determined. Consequently, statements were determined in 36 different subject areas. Among these, “high quality production” is the most frequently mentioned subject, while “supplier satisfaction” and “union relations” are the least. Also, “human resources” is the most, while “environmental issues” are the least examined subjects in the context of business functions. Companies’ ethical statements are affected by their year of establishment, the number of personnel, market values and ISO certificates.

During mitral valve replacement, total chordae preservation is very important for left ventricular functions. But leaving anterior leaflet and chordae may cause serious complications, such as left ventricular outflow tract obstruction and impairment in prosthetic valve functions. In this article, we present the anterior leaflet preservation technique by excising the central portion of the anterior leaflet. The rim of the leaflet tissue containing the marginal chordae was divided in two parts without destroying the chordae, and then the rim of leaflet tissue was sutured to the left atrium. This technique provided optimal chordae tension and improved avoidance of complications due to total chordae preservation, in mitral valve replacement operations.

The efficacies of chemotherapeutic agents are often limited by side effects and acquired drug resistance. We have investigated whether the differential expression pattern of 14-3-3σ affects cisplatin response in non-small cell lung cancer cell lines. Two pairs of parental/cisplatin resistant cell lines (A549/CRA549 and Calu1/CR-Calu1) and clinical lung cancer biopsy samples were analysed for 14-3-3σ expression. Cell viability was assessed by WST assay; and 14-3-3σ expression was suppressed by siRNA transfection. 14-3-3σ mRNA expression increased in CR-A549 and CR-Calu1 compared with their cisplatin-sensitive parental A549 and Calu1 cell lines. But when 14-3-3σ expression was suppressed, elevated cisplatin response was seen in A549 and CR-Calu1 cell lines. Increased 14-3-3σ expression might also account for reduced cisplatin response in vivo, since, 14-3-3σ expression in clinical biopsy samples obtained from lung cancer patients undergoing cisplatin-based chemotherapy significantly higher in the non-responder compared with the responder group. We therefore propose that increased 14-3-3σ expression is correlated with cisplatin response in non-small cell lung cancer cells; monitoring its expression might become useful in the future in predicting poor outcome to cisplatin treatment and/or the verification of acquired cisplatin resistance in lung cancer patients.

The aim of this study was to investigate the course of expression of platelet-activating factor (PAF), PAF-receptor (PAF-R), epidermal growth factor (EGF), EGF-R, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), VEGF-R1 and VEGF-R2 in uterine tissue during canine pregnancy. For this purpose, 20 bitches were ovariohysterectomized at days 10-12 (n = 10), 18-25 (n = 5) and 28-45 (n = 5) days after mating, respectively. The pre-implantation group was proven pregnant by embryo flushing of the uterus after the operation, the others by sonography. Five embryo negative, that is, non-pregnant, bitches in diestrus (day 10-12) served as controls. Tissue samples from the uterus (placentation sites and horn width, respectively) were excised and snap-frozen in liquid nitrogen after embedding in Tissue Tec(®). Extraction of mRNA for RT-PCR was performed with Tri-Reagent. In the embryos, mRNA from all factors except VEGF was detected. In the course of pregnancy, significantly higher expression of PAF and PAFR as well as VEGF and VEGFR2 during the pre-implantation stage than in all other stages and a strong upregulation of EGF during implantation were characteristic. The course of EGF was in diametrical opposition to the course of the receptor. These results point towards an increased demand for VEGF, EGF and PAF during the earliest stages of canine pregnancy.

FINDIK, Murat/0000-0003-1408-2548; Kucukaslan, Ibrahim/0000-0002-3458-4409 WOS: 000311653600008 The present study is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of combined preventive treatment with Ceftiofur Hydrochloride (CHR), Oxytocin (OXT) and PGF(2 alpha) on fertility parameters and puerperal disorder rates in postpartum (pp) dairy cows. A total of 191 Holstein-Friesian cows were divided into four groups. The cows in group I (GI; n=37) and II (GII; n=69) were treated on a daily basis with CHR and OXT for five and three days pp, respectively. Group III (GIII; n=52) was designed as the PGF(2 alpha) group, and group IV (GIV; n=33) served as a control group. The animals in GI, GII, and Gill were given a PGF(2 alpha) analogue on days 15 and 26 pp. Each group was further divided into subgroups of normal parturition (np) and dystocia (d) when the study results were evaluated. It was found that the first service pregnancy rates for the subgroup of dystocia were significantly higher (P0.05). As the treatment with CHR-OXT combined with PGF(2 alpha) on days 15 and 26 was associated to improved uterine involution patterns and reproductive performance, our results suggest that administration of this preventive treatment would be useful, especially for cases of dystocia.

Acute decompensated heart failure (HF) is a serious complication associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The CA-125 and NT-proBNP levels have been shown in some studies to predict the outcome, however, the prognostic value of other simple clinical parameters such as pleural effusion has not been established yet.To assess the prognostic value of pleural effusion regarding in-hospital and 6-month follow-up outcome in patients with acute decompensated HF and the relationship between pleural effusion and CA-125 and NT-proBNP levels.The CA-125 and NT-proBNP levels were measured at baseline and the presence of pleural effusion was examined on chest radiograms. One hundred patients were prospectively followed until the occurrence of cardiac death, defined as death from worsening HF or sudden cardiac death, or completion of follow-up period. There were 27 deaths over the course of 6 months of follow-up. An insignificant trend towards higher values of CA-125 was found in patients with pleural effusion. Univariate Cox regression analysis showed that there was no relationship between pleural effusion and in-hospital outcome as well as mortality during 6-month follow-up. The CA-125 and NT-proBNP levels predicted mortality. Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that only CA-125 was an independent predictor of the 6-month outcome (RR: 1.2; 1.04-1.4; p = 0.001).In patients with acute decompensated HF, accompanying pleural effusion did not predict mortality or rehospitalisation during the 6-month follow-up. The increased CA-125 level was found to be an independent predictor of poor outcome, irrespective of pleural effusion.
