AbstractThis research aimed at contributing on the urgency of formulating public regulation about cryptocurrency based on administrative reform, providing critical thinking about the use of cryptocurrency on economic activity in supporting sustainable tourism. Instead of focusing on economic, it focuses on the public administration to formulate the regulation of cryptocurrency circulation in Indonesia. It was underlying on descriptive qualitative method with postpositivism approach. It was conducted in Bali as the world tourism destination, and relied on tourism. The distribution of cryptocurrency is banned in Indonesia including Bali, regulated on Law No. 7 year 2011 about currency. It found the hegemony from tourists toward tourism entrepreneurs due to the demand of tourist to use crypto yet lack of regulation as legal payment. Three strategies of administrative reform applied i.e. taxation, structural and programs to implement administrative reform for cryptocurrency regulation. The practical implication shows that the regulation of legal cryptocurrency generates positive impacts on sustainable tourism growth in Bali, particularly on the tourism concept for preserving environment, social, cultural and economic. Moreover, it theoretically implicated the Public Regulation Theory on formulating public regulation that legalize crypto distribution, identifying potential issues, agenda arrangement, regulation formulation, policy approval, implementation and evaluation.

Spent bleaching earth (SBE) waste generated from crude palm oil (CPO) processing companies is constantly increasing as the demand for the oleo product is rising worldwide. This study aims to assess oil recovery from SBE using two process options to be implemented in a cooking oil plant in Sei Mangkei, North Sumatra. A techno-economic simulation was conducted to assess the feasibility of the two scenarios. The first scenario of the oil recovery plant from SBE was proposed without bleaching earth (BE) recovery. The second scenario proposed both oil and BE recovery. The research results showed that both scenarios were feasible, with scenario 2 having slightly better economic parameters. The SBE volume processed by the company was far more significant in affecting the feasibility of SBE reutilization. According to the techno-economic calculations, in scenario 1, the internal rate of return (IRR) was 23.56 %, the net present value (NPV) was USD 2.6 million, and the payback period was 3.9 years. Scenario 2 exhibited an IRR of 25.21 %, an NPV of USD 3.375 million, and a return time of 3.7 years.

The primary goal of the current research was predicting the optimum operational parameters for removing of Fe (II) from aqueous solutions by Exhausted Coffee Husk (ECH) biochar, through batch mode experiments using a Box-Behnken Design (BBD) within a Response Surface Methodology (RSM) framework. The effect operational factors for instance, pH, contact time and the dosage of ECH-biochar were investigated in a certain range, prior to conducting the BBD experiments. The pH was in a range of 4–9, while the contact time was in between 30 and 150 minutes and the dosage 0.05–2.5 g. The results showed that the optimum operational parameters for ECH biochar as biosorbent for Fe ions removal were 7, 0.102 g, 54.49 minutes for pH, contact time and dosage, respectively, with the RE and biosorption capacity (qt) were 99.91 % and 73.09 mg/g. The validation test showed the similar results were obtained for RE and qt with %RSD were 0.7 %. The process of Fe biosorption corresponds effectively with a modified Langmuir isotherm model, and the prediction of the rate constant is reliably achieved using the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Furthermore, analyses of scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed ion exchange as the Fe removal mechanism by the ECH-BC, while Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) also showed the role of structural alterations on the surface of ECH-BC subsequent to the biosorption of Fe.

Quality seeds are one of the main technological components for increasing soybean crop production. Until now the use of quality soybean seeds in Indonesia only reaches 30%. The constraints of providing soybean quality seeds still often occur. The objectives of this study are to identify the financial feasibility of soybean seed producer in various uses of soybean products; to identify socio-economic constraints on soybean seed producer and to propose a strategy for developing soybean seed producer agribusiness in East Java province. The survey was conducted on soybean seed growers and soybean farmers who planted soybeans in the 2022 growing season. The results showed that the R/C ratio of producers for seed purposes, producers for consumption purposes, and soybean farmers are 1.34, 1.23 and 1.2, respectively. Threats faced by soybean seed producers include suboptimal post-harvest handling and the rapidly decreasing soybean seed germination. The strategy in developing soybean seed producer that can be proposed are: growing soybean seed farmers at each production centre location to meet the needs of seeds on time, quantity, variety, agroclimate, quality, and price, so as to meet the need of local farmers quickly, and reduce the risk of rapidly decreasing seed germination.

The biofuel policy has been given much attention, especially bioethanol blending policy. Empty fruit bunch (EFB) can be used as a feedstock for bioethanol but need more study in terms of supply chain and economical aspect. The novelty of this study is to find the optimal EFB supply chain model in several palm oil mill in Riau Province. Economic evaluation is also carried out to determine the economic value of biorefineries and to obtain economical selling prices of bioethanol products. The Simplex linear programming method is used to optimize the EFB feedstock supply model, and ArcGIS is used to determine and to analyse the distance and location of each facility. There are three scenarios used in our study which are decentralizing, clustering, and centralizing EFB preparation unit. Economic feasibility is also used to calculate bioethanol minimum selling price. Our study shows that the scenario with EFB preparation facilities located in each palm oil mill location is the most efficient supply chain model with the feedstock cost of 6.1 cUSD per kg (Scenario 3). After creating various end-product blends (denoted as E5 to E20), the bioethanol price can compete with retail fuels. The price of E5 is slightly higher than Pertamax 92 RON, being around cUSD 3 per liter more expensive. Meanwhile in E20, the price is cUSD 18 per liter more expensive than the price of Pertamax Turbo RON 98. However, the use of E20 can be considered as it has a lower emission value compared to fossil fuels, potentially reducing emissions by 12 % when compared to RON 90.

Rainwater can serve as a safe and sustainable source of drinking water. One common way to harvest rainwater is through runoff from the roofs of buildings. Depending on the cleanliness and material of the roofs, this roof-harvested rainwater can have very different water quality like colour, turbidity, pH and total dissolved solids (TDS) compared to the rainwater. Roof-harvested rainwater TDS was not correlated with antecedent dry days (ADD) and weakly negatively correlated with rainfall amount. This paper demonstrated the use of progressive freeze concentration (PFC) to purify rainwater through reduction of colour, turbidity and TDS. In lieu of a specialised PFC equipment, falling-film ice making equipment was used to purify rainwater. Falling-film equipment was chosen for PFC as supercooling that could adversely affect separation efficiency was not observed. Two parameters, circulation time and initial rainwater quality were investigated for their effects on yield and quality of purified rainwater quality (colour, turbidity and TDS). Preliminary results showed the reduction of colour to within drinking water standard and TDS by more than 93 %. Higher circulation time was shown to decrease yield but improve effective partition coefficient (K). Initial rainwater quality has negligible effect on yield and removal efficiency. In conclusion, PFC is a potential method to purify roof-harvested rainwater into drinking water.

Purpose: This study examines the impact of financial performance, board size, and working capital on firm value. Gender diversity is a moderating variable in studies that determines how the effectiveness of financial performance, board size, and working capital affect firm value. Methodology/approach: Manufacturing enterprises are the sample for this research, and the secondary data source is the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2019 to 2023. This study combines SPSS with a data analysis approach known as moderating regression analysis. Findings: Financial performance, board size, and working capital have a beneficial impact on firm value. Gender diversity can moderate the effects of financial performance, board size, and working capital on the firm's value. Practical and Theoretical Contribution/ Originality: The highest executive levels within the company's hierarchy are the focus of this study. Numerous earlier studies have not been able to examine or test gender diversity in these ranks. Important individuals, such as the board of directors, occupy these positions. This role is crucial to the development and operation of each major business division for the corporation. The study's findings further emphasize the prospective advantages of corporate governance frameworks and gender diversity, which can increase the availability of capital, performance, and value for the firm. Research Limitation: Gender diversity is measured using solely dummy variables and ratios, which ignore the influence of each individual's decision-making style. Gender diversity focuses mostly on business executives. As a result, greater inquiry into other stakeholders who influence business risk-taking decisions is required.

Background Hypertensive pregnancies are associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular and neurological diseases in the offspring during later life. However, less is known about the potential impact on multi‐organ phenotypes in offspring before disease symptoms occur. The objective of this systematic review was to determine the associations of fetal exposure to maternal hypertensive pregnancy with multi‐organ phenotypes across developmental stages. Methods and Results Ovid MEDLINE, EMBASE, CENTRAL (Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials), WoS, Scopus, CINAHL, and ClinicalTrials.gov were systematically searched until February 2024. Records were independently screened by 2 authors. Studies reporting on the structure or function of the heart, blood vessels, brain, liver, and kidneys in offspring of hypertensive pregnancies compared with a normotensive control population were included. Risk of bias was assessed using the Newcastle‐Ottawa Scale. Extracted data were presented using harvest plots. Seventy‐three studies including 7091 offspring of hypertensive pregnancies and 42 164 controls were identified that met the inclusion criteria. Thirty‐two studies were investigations in fetuses, 24 in neonates and infants, 12 in children, 2 in adolescents, and 3 in adults. Offspring of hypertensive pregnancies had structural and functional changes in the heart compared with controls in some studies across developmental stages. Offspring of hypertensive pregnancies also had smaller occipital and parietal vessels, higher aortic intima‐media thickness, and lower retinal arteriolar‐to‐venular ratio. Some conflicting evidence existed for other phenotypical alterations. Conclusions There is still inconsistent evidence of multi‐organ structural and functional differences in offspring of hypertensive pregnancies. The evidence base could therefore be further strengthened through well‐designed and conducted prospective studies. Registration Information www.crd.york.ac.uk. Unique Identifier: CRD42023387550.

- Abstract
Changes in the learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic require quick adaptation from teachers and students to immediately achieve learning goals. However, it remains ineffective, resulting in a threat of learning loss. This condition can be overcome if students have confidence in their abilities or self-efficacy. It is important to do an analysis related to biology learning tasks taught by the teachers and students' self-efficacy. This study aims to analyze biology learning tasks variation during the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on students' self-efficacy. This study used descriptive design with cross-sectional survey method. Samples were taken using the convenience sampling technique from five public schools. 446 students out of 465 total students and seven biology teachers participated in this study as respondents. The instruments used in this study were rubrics for quantifying learning tasks and self-efficacy questionnaires given to students after Biology Learning. The results show that all learning modes in Biology Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic have learning tasks that were more dominant in the low-level cognitive process. The dominant learning tasks include retrieval and comprehension, while learning tasks with a higher level of cognitive processing such as analysis, knowledge utilization, and metacognitive only cover a small part of the whole Biology learning process. There were no learning tasks that reached the highest level of cognitive process (self-system). The result of self-efficacy in all learning modes was high, but it was higher in learning modes that used hybrid learning. Biology learning tasks given by the teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic have an effect on students' self-efficacy.

This article explores the acculturation of culture and religion, focusing on the interaction between Islam and Sundanese culture in West Java, Indonesia. Early Islamic preachers employed accommodating strategies, integrating pre-existing cultural elements, which led to the development of a unique form of Islam in the region. The purpose of this article is to examine and highlight the ways in which Islam has blended with Sundanese culture in West Java. The study utilized a qualitative research approach, combining field research with data from both primary sources (observations and interviews) and secondary sources, such as books, scholarly articles, research reports, and other relevant materials. The data were displayed in a narrative-descriptive format and analyzed using the qualitative data analysis techniques including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the long-standing process of acculturation between Islam and Sundanese culture in West Java has produced a distinct Sundanese culture influenced by Islamic principles. This is evident in elements such as the wawacan texts, which contain Islamic teachings, the prevalence of Islamic boarding schools, the practice of Islamic mysticism (Sufism-Tariqa), and the unique Islamic-Sundanese architectural style. The widespread acceptance of Islamic teachings among the Sundanese has led to the incorporation of these principles and traditions into Sundanese society, aligning them closely with Islamic values.

Aphorisms are unique literary works known for their memorability, concision, and ambiguity. They have an information structure divided into theme (known information) and rheme (new information), with the "unmarked topical theme" playing a crucial role. This study examines the impact of translation techniques on these unmarked topical themes and their influence on translation quality, focusing on an unexplored area in Arabic discourse. The research design is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected from the aphoristic text of Al-Hikam in Arabic (L1) and its translations into Indonesian (L2a) and Javanese (L2b). The research problems addressed are: (1) What translation techniques do translators employ when dealing with the "unmarked topical theme" in Al-Hikam's aphoristic text? Do translators favor the source language or the target language? (2) How can the translation of unmarked topical themes in Al-Hikam's aphorisms be assessed in terms of accuracy, readability, and acceptability?. The study finds that translation techniques, including conventional equivalent, compensation, modulation, and reduction, significantly impact the translation quality of unmarked topical themes. The conventional equivalent technique is particularly effective in maintaining the position of the unmarked topical theme from the source language to the target language. This research contributes to developing an Arabic translation model based on Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) analysis. It also provides a comparative analysis of the distinctive discourse topic development elements in Arabic, Indonesian, and Javanese texts, highlighting the implications of various translation techniques on the quality of aphoristic translations.

Even though generalized frequency division multiplexing is an alternative waveform method expected to replace the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing in the future, its implementation must alleviate channel effects. Least-squares (LS), a low-complexity channel estimation technique, could be improved by using the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) without increasing complexity. Unlike the usage of the LS method, the DFT-based method requires the receiver to know the channel impulse response (CIR) length, which is unknown. This study introduces a simple, yet effective, CIR length estimator by utilizing LS estimation. As the cyclic prefix (CP) length is commonly set to be longer than the CIR length, it is possible to search through the first samples if CP is larger than a threshold set using the remaining samples. An adaptive scale is also designed to lower the error probability of the estimation, and a simple signal-to-interference-noise ratio estimation is also proposed by utilizing a sparse preamble to support the use of the scale. A software simulation is used to show the ability of the proposed system to estimate the CIR length. Due to shorter CIR length of rural area, the performance is slightly poorer compared to urban environment. Nevertheless, satisfactory performance is shown for both environments.

This article explored the transition from paradiplomacy to protodiplomacy in Catalonia and Kurdistan, two regions at the forefront of this shift. Protodiplomacy involves the direct participation of subnational entities in diplomatic activities akin to those of recognized nation-states, challenging traditional diplomatic hierarchies and altering the global diplomatic landscape. Catalonia has greater autonomy in matters such as governance and economy, while Kurdistan has more limited autonomy in matters such as security and governance. As such, this research showed that paradiplomacy could serve as a means to increase regional engagement in international politics. This research provided an in-depth analysis of how the South Sulawesi Provincial Government's paradiplomacy initiative impacts the export of agricultural products to Egypt. Through a comparative analysis of Catalonia and Kurdistan, this study elucidated the motivations, consequences, and challenges associated with this transition. It emphasized the significance of effective paradiplomacy practices between central and local governments. Catalonia and Iraqi Kurdistan exemplified modern paradiplomacy, showcasing their capabilities on an international stage. The research identified high Iraqi Kurdish nationalism as a key driver of the shift towards protodiplomacy in Kurdistan. It also highlighted the internal structural factors within Iraq that propelled Iraqi Kurdistan's diplomatic efforts, culminating in a referendum that marked a peak in separatist interest. This research underscored the dynamic nature of protodiplomacy, highlighting the motivations behind subnational diplomatic endeavors and the transformative implications for central-local government relations.

The process of learning science, especially physics, has often had problems. The problem that often arises so far in the field is how to teach teachers who still use conventional methods. This learning method has not been able to support the science learning process, which causes low science process skills in students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the laboratory-based Blended-Project Based Learning (B-PjBL) model on students' science process skills. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a posttest control group design. The results of the hypothesis test using the t-test showed that the laboratory-based B-PjBL model has a positive effect on students' science process skills.

Sleep disturbances are one of the discomforts of third-trimester pregnant women that affect the quality of sleep. One of the non-pharmacological methods to help reduce sleep disturbances is back massage. The study aimed to determine the effect of back massage on third-trimester pregnant women's sleep quality. This type of research was pre-experimental, using the One Group Pretest Posttest Design approach. The population in this study was a third-trimester pregnant woman who checked her pregnancy at PMB Dince Safrina Pekanbaru City in February-March 2023. The sample in this study amounted to 15 pregnant women in the third trimester who had a PSQI score > 5, which was taken by purposive sampling. The data collection method was observation using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. The results showed that the average sleep quality of pregnant women before the intervention was 7.67 (Sd = 1.34), and the average sleep quality after the back massage intervention. 5.73 (Sd = 0.69). Based on statistical tests, back massage affected the sleep quality of pregnant women in the third trimester (pvalue= 0.001). It is expected that health workers, especially midwives at PMB Dince Safrina, can apply back messaging as a non-pharmacological therapy for treating sleep disorders in third-trimester pregnant women.

Introduction: Tuberculous pleurisy (TP) is the pleural inflammation caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) and a rare manifestation of childhood tuberculosis (TB). It is characterized by a large amount of fibrin, sticky adhesion, and even calcification. Pleural adhesion can significantly affect respiratory function and quality of life. Therefore, early detection, prompt therapy, and drainage of pleural effusion are crucial for preventing pleural adhesion. This case report is intended to enhance clinician awareness regarding avoiding and managing pleural thickening in TP. Case: A 14-year-old child had shortness of breath, fever for 2 weeks, cough, loss of appetite, and no smoking history. The laboratory results showed anemia and non-reactive human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV), analyzed pleural fluid monocyte showed 72%, and glucose 58%. Adenosine deaminase (ADA) analysis showed a rise above 61 U/L. The tuberculin skin test was negative. The chest X-ray showed right pleural effusion, the chest ultrasonography revealed a right hemithorax echo-free plane, and the computed tomography (CT) scan showed right pleural effusion and pulmonary fibrosis. The thoracoscopy view showed fibrinous adhesion-producing tenting and vascularization in the base without multiple nodules. Water-sealed drainage was performed and produced approximately 3,450 ml with serous xanthochromia. Then the patient was diagnosed with TP and treated with anti-TB drugs and steroids. Conclusion: Typical TP with fibrinous adhesions is an infrequent condition. This case report highlighted the importance of extensive screening using a thoracoscopy view and ADA analysis in patients with TP, especially in countries with a high TB burden.
