Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effect of matrine on the expressions of survivin, caspase-3 and caspase-7 in the cervical cancer tissues of rats. Methods: 34 female Wistar rats were selected, in which 19 rats that were successfully established as cervical cancer were randomly divided into the negative control group(group A) and matrine group(group B), 10 normal rats were used as group C. The expressions of survivin, caspase-3 and caspase-7 in the cervical cancer tissues of rats were detected using Western blot. Results: (1)The expression of Survivin in group A was obviously higher than that in groups B and C(P<0.05); (2) The expressions of Caspase-3 and Caspase-7 in group A were both lower than those in groups B and C(P<0.05); (3) Statistically significant differences were found in the expressions of survivin, caspase-3 and caspase-7 between group B and group C(P<0.05). Conclusions: Matrine could significantly lower the expression of Survivin, and increase the expressions of Caspase-3 and Caspase-7. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
