In this study, it is aimed to investigate the effect of mixed matrix membranes on permeability and selectivity of gas formed by the addition of filler to polyimide membranes. Firstly, MOF-5 strucutre was synthesized by solvothermal method and metals were added to these structure to obtain NiMOF-5, CoMOF-5, CuMOF-5, NiCoMOF-5, NiCuMOF-5 ve CoCuMOF-5 structures. MOF-5/PI, NiMOF-5/PI, CoMOF-5/PI, CuMOF-5/PI, NiCoMOF-5/PI, NiCuMOF-5/PI ve CoCuMOF-5/PI mixed matrix membranes were manufactured adding MOF crystals with different loadings (0, 5%, 10% and 15%) to polyimide. To characterize thermal stability, crystal structure and morphology features of MOF-5 and mixed matrix membrane, Thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction and Scannig Electron Microscopy were used. In second part, the influence of permeability and selectivity of mixed matrix membrane in H2, CO2 and CH4 gases were investigated. The addition of MOF into polyimide increased the permeability of gases compared to pure polyimide. It can be said that Cu doped MOF-5 have the biggest effect on permeability of gases. Furthermore, surface diffusion plays a more significant role through membrane rather than solution diffusion mechanism. It is evident that, increased amount of MOFs in mixed matrix membrane increase CH4 permeability compared to H2 and CO2 and therefore adding MOF-5 and metal doped MOF-5 into polymer decreases H2/CH4 selectivity. 127

With the rapid development of hydrogen economy andmembrane science, membrane-based gas separation technology shows greatpotential for the hydrogen purification. Mixed matrix membranes (MMM) have beendeveloped in order to increase the gas separation performance of a membrane. However, MMMs result in poor filler-polymer compabilities and fillersegregation. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) as new fillers with high surfacearea and pore volume overcome these drawbacks and enhance the H2 gasadsorption properties. In thisstudy, MOF- 5 was synthesized, characterized and incorporated into polyimide(PI) to investigate the effect of filler on the single gas permeation. MOF-5/PI MMMs were fabricated at different loadingrates (5wt.%, 10wt.%, 15wt.% MOF-5). The characterization a membrane wasperformed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), infrared spectroscopy (IR),X-ray diffraction (XRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Theprepared membranes with varying filllercontents were used to investigate the H2, CO2 and CH4permeation properties and H2/CO2, CO2/CH4,H2/CH4 selectivities. The results showed that the singlegas permeation experiments for all gases increased with MOF-5 loading at roomtemperature and pressure of 200 kPa. At higher loadings, ideal selectivity of H2/CO2,CO2/CH4, H2/CH4 were found less compared to the pure polymer.Consequently, the incorparation of MOF-5 into the polimer incresed the membrane gas permeation ratesbut decreased the selectivity., Membran biliminin ve hidrojen ekonomisinin hızlıgelişimi ile hidrojen saflaştırmada membrane dayalı ayırma teknolojisi yüksekbir potansiyel göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak, polimere MOF-5’in ilavesi geçirgenlikperformansını arttırmasına rağmen, seçicilik azalma göstermiştir.

- Abstract
A mixed-matrix membrane has been developed that consists of a filler and a polymeric matrix to achieve high selectivity and permeability. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) as new fillers with a high surface area and a large pore volume enhance hydrogen (H2) gas adsorption properties. In this study, synthesis and characterization of MOF-5 with two different transition metals were carried out. Nickel (Ni) and copper (Cu) were chosen as transition metals, and nickel-doped MOF-5 and copper-doped MOF-5 were successfully synthesized by way of the solvothermal method. These particles were added to polyimide (PI) to form nickel-doped MOF-5/PI and copper-doped MOF-5/PI mixed-matrix membranes for hydrogen separation using the solution-casting method. Metal-doped MOF-5s were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. The results demonstrated that transition metals used in the MOF-5 synthesis had been incorporated into the PI matrix successfully and led to an overall improvement in the performance of permeability.

Background: deletion of 13q14 [del(13q)] is the most common cytogenetic change (50%) in chronic lymphoblastic leukemia (CLL), and it is a good prognostic factor if it is detected as a sole aberration by FISH. However, it is observed the clinical course of CLL cases with del(13q) are quite heterogeneous and the responsible for this clinical heterogeneity has not been established yet. Some investigators suggest type II deletion (include RB1 gene) is associated with more aggressive clinical course. Also, it is suggested that the deletion burden and the deletion type have a prognostic effect. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of RB1 gene deletion, deletion burden and deletion type on overall survival (OS), disease stage and time to first treatment (TTFT) in patients with isolated del(3q). Sixty eight cases, detected isolated del(13q) were included in the study. Also, RB1 deletion was analyzed from peripheral blood of them using FISH. Results: RB1 deletion was detected in 41% of patients, but there was no statistically significant difference between RB1 deletion and TTFT, stage and OS (p > 0.05). At same time, statistically significant difference was detected between high del(13q) (> 80%) and TTFT (p < 0.05). Conclusion: the statistical analysis of our data regarding to the association between RB1 deletion and deletion type, TTFT, disease stage, and OS has not confirmed type II deletion or biallelic deletion cause poor prognosis. However, our data supports the deletion burden has a prognostic effect. More studies are needed to elucidate the cause of the clinical heterogeneity of CLL cases with del(13q)., Turkish Society of Hematology

- Abstract
The consideration of scarcity and overexploitation of freshwater at the organizational level increased interest in the water footprint. The water footprint measures freshwater use for activities, taking into account water consumption and pollution contamination by classifying consumed water into groundwater and surface water (blue water), rainwater (green water), and polluted water (grey water). This study aims to identify a comprehensive water footprint inventory analysis for a denim washing organization and assess the grey water footprint (GWF) based on the effluent concentration of pollution indicators (chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspended solids (SS), ammonium nitrogen (NH4-N), and phenol) measured monthly in 2021. The company used well water for its operations, which constituted 61.79% of the total water use of the facility, water used by the organization by reverse osmosis accounted for 37.60% of total water consumption, and rainwater made up 0.61% of the volume of water used overall. The grey water footprints of COD, SS, NH4-N, and phenol were calculated as 59981.53 m3, 31747.21 m3, 10514 m3, and 48190 m3, respectively. The results illustrated that the COD, which accounted for 40% of the pollutants, had the highest grey water footprint in the organization, corresponding to the amount of freshwater required to assimilate pollutants to meet water quality standards. In addition, the effect of the reverse osmosis system on the blue water footprint of this organization was analyzed by considering two different scenarios. Reverse osmosis considerably impacted the blue water footprint, accounting for over 37% of this organization's water use. It suggests that a wastewater treatment plant using reverse osmosis is an ideal option for recovering water. The main contributions of this study are comprehensively assessing the water footprint components of the denim washing company and understanding sector-specific water footprint at the organization level., (© The Author(s) 2025.
