The article focuses on the crystallization of the compound diaquadiformatodipyridinecobalt(II). In the crystal structure the cobalt atom has an octahedral coordination geometry involving two oxygen atoms of formate ligands, two pyridine nitrogen atoms and two water molecules. In the experiment cobalt diacetate trihydrate, pyridine and formic acid were dissolved to an aqueous solution of benzene-1,4-dioxyacetic acid.
