Extraction of proteins from defatted sunflower meal has been improved by addition of the protease alcalase during alkaline extraction. This method offers several additional advantages as compared to the traditional alkaline extraction without alcalase, which is usually carried out after a sedimentation/flotation step to remove the lignocellulosic fraction. As compared to extraction without alcalase, addition of 0.1% (v/v) alcalase improved the yield of protein extraction from 57.5% to 87.4%, providing an extract that is 22% hydrolyzed. In addition, an increment of up to 4.5 times in protein solubility at low pH values is achieved, which correlates with the degree of hydrolysis. The extracts that were obtained in the presence of alcalase had a higher proline and glycine content, suggesting that the protease improves extraction of proline-rich and glycine-rich cell wall proteins that are part of the lignocellulosic fraction. These protein extracts can be directly dried without generation of wastewater, and the resulting fiber-rich material could be used for animal feeding., Se ha mejorado la extracción proteica de la harina desengrasa de girasol mediante la adición de la proteasa alcalasa durante la extracción alcalina. IV ÖZET Bu çalışmada, bitkisel protein kaynaklarında bulunan anti-besleme özelliği taşıyan nişasta olmayan polisakkaritleri (NOP) hidrolize eden enzimlerin soya, ayçiçeği ve pamuk tohumu küspelerine dayalı etlik piliç rasyonlarında kullanımının etkileri, bir ticari enzim preparatı denenerek araştırılmıştır. Denemede ayrıca, ülkemizde yüksek üretim potansiyeline sahip ayçiçeği ve pamuk tohumu küspelerinin yetersiz miktarlarda üretilmekte olan soya yerine ikame edilebilirliği araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada 240 adet (120 erkek ve 120 dişi) 1 günlük yaştaki ROSS 308 etlik piliç hatlarından civcivler loıllanılmıştır. Civcivler şansa bağlı olarak muamele gruplarına dağıtılarak 6 muamele grubu hazırlanmış ve her muamelenin 4 tekerrürü olacağından deneme toplam 24 deneme ünitesinden oluşturulmuştur. Bu amaçla 1- %30 soya küspesi bazal yemi 2- %30 soya küspesi bazal yemi + enzim 3- % %20 ayçiçeği küspesine, 4- %20 ayçiçeği küspesi + enzim, 5- %15 pamuk tohumu küspesi, 6- %15 pamuk tohumu küspesi + enzim içeren 6 farklı rasyon hazırlanmıştır. Başlatma yemi (0-14 gün); %22 ham protein ve 3050 kcal ME/kg (12,77MJ ME/kg), büyütme yemi (15-28 gün); %20 ham protein ve 3100 kcal, ME/kg (12.98MJ, ME/kg) ve bitirme yemi (29-42); %18 ham protein ve 3200 kcal, ME/kg (13.40MJ, ME/kg) değerlerine sahiptir. Performans denemesinde kullanılan enzim, fî-glukanaz, pektinaz ve çeşitli hemiselülazlar içeren bir multi enzim preparatı olup, etlik piliç performans değerleri, karkas randımanı ve abdominal yağ değerleri üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Enzim preparatları başlatma, büyütme ve bitirme yemlerine ilave edilmiştir. Araştırma sonunda 5 haftalık etlik piliçlerin ortalama canlı ağırlıkları 6 muamele grubunda sırasıyla, 1938,75 kg, 1933 kg, 2015,75 kg, 1984,75 kg, 2015,75 kg, 1957 kg olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırmada enzim ilavesi ile performans değerleri ve karkas randımanı ile abdominal yağ oranlarında istatistiki olarak önemli bir fark meydana gelmediği bulunmuş ve soya küspesi ile ayçiçeği ve pamuk tohumu küspeleri içeren muamele grupları arasında ki faklıhğın önemsiz olduğu belirlenmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Etlik piliç, NOP, Enzim, Soya fasulyesi küspesi, Ayçiçeği tohumu küspesi, Pamuk tohumu küspesi V SUMMARY This study was conducted to test the efficacy a commercial enzyme with p- glucanase, sellulase, hemisellulase and pectinase activities against soybean, sunflower and cotton seed meals in broiler diets. 240 male and female day old ROSS 308 chicks were used in this study. The treatments were; 1) 30% soybean meal (SBM), 2) 30% SBM + enzyme, 3) 20% sunflower meal (SFM), 4) 20% SFM + enzyme, 5) 20% cotton seed meal (CSM), 6) 20% CSM + enzyme. Each treatment has been randomly distributed into 4 replicates of cage unit in which 10 broiler chicks were housed. These dietary treatment were fed to broilers for 0-14 days as starter (22% protein; 3050 kcal ME/kg), for 15-28 days as grower (20% protein; 3100 kcal/kg) and for 29-42 days as finisher (18% protein; 3200 kcal/kg). The effects of the microbial enzyme was measured in terms of gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, carcass yield and abdominal fat Microbial enzyme supplementation did not significantly effect live performance, carcass yield and abdominal fat. Foram realizados dois experimentos, objetivando avaliar o farelo de girassol (FG) na alimentação de suínos em crescimento e terminação. Inicialmente, foi avaliada a digestibilidade do FG, utilizando-se oito suínos machos castrados, com peso médio inicial de 30,41 kg, alojados individualmente em gaiolas metabólicas. Posteriormente, 48 suínos (Large White x Landrace), sendo 24 machos castrados e 24 fêmeas, foram submetidos, dos 25,82 aos 92,33 kg, a quatro tratamentos: dieta com 0% de FG, dieta com 7% de FG, dieta com 14% de FG e dieta com 21% de FG. Foram medidos o ganho diário de peso (GDP), o consumo diário de ração (CDR) e a conversão alimentar (CA) durante quatro períodos (crescimento I, crescimento II, terminação e período total). Finalmente, os animais foram abatidos e submetidos à tipificação eletrônica de carcaça. Foram medidos a espessura de toucinho (ET), a profundidade do músculo longissimus dorsi (PM), o peso da carcaça (PC), o rendimento da carcaça (RC), a porcentagem de carne magra na carcaça (CM) e a quantidade de carne magra na carcaça (RCM). Os valores de energia digestível e metabolizável do FG foram 2171 e 2036 kcal/kg, respectivamente. Não houve efeito da regressão dos níveis de FG sobre as características de desempenho, em qualquer fase. Diferenças somente ocorreram para o fator sexo, a favor dos machos, nas fases de crescimento II e no período total para o GDP e o CDR. Para as características de carcaça não foi verificado efeito da regressão dos níveis de FG. Com relação ao sexo, entretanto, os machos apresentaram maior ET e PC. Os custos das dietas foram semelhantes entre os tratamentos. A inclusão de 21% de FG nas rações de suínos em crescimento e terminação não ofereceu prejuízo para desempenho e características de carcaça. Two experiments were carried out to evaluate sunflower meal (SM) as swine feeding on growing and finishing phases. In experiment 1, eight barrows with 30.41kg liveweight were allocated in metabolic individual cages to evaluate the digestibility of sunflower meal. In experiment 2 a total of 48 pigs (24 barrows and 24 females), Large White x Landrace cross, were allotted to four treatments: diet without SM, diet with 7% of SM, diet with 14% of SM and diet with 21% of SM. The animals were evaluated from 25.82kg to 92.33kg liveweight. Daily weight gain (DWG), daily feed intake (DFI) and feed gain ratio (FGR) were evaluated during four periods (growing I, growing II, finishing and total period). All animals were slaughtered and submitted to an electronic carcass evaluation at the end of the experiment. The backfat depth (BP), muscle depth (MD), carcass weight (CW), lean meat percentage (LM), kilogram of lean meat (KLM) and carcass yield (CY) were evaluated. The digestible and metabolizable energy values of SM were 2171 and 2036 kcal/kg, respectively. There were no regression effect on performance characteristics for the levels of SM. There were significant differences for sex factor. The barrows were better to DWG and DFI during the growing phase II and total period. There were no regression effect on carcass characteristics for the levels of SM however, BD and CW characteristics were significantly greater for barrows than females. The rations cost was similar among treatments. In inclusion, the rations up to 21% of SM for growing and finishing pigs, did not affect performance and carcass characteristics.

O experimento foi realizado com o objetivo de verificar o desempenho dos frangos de corte alimentados com rações contendo níveis crescentes de farelo de girassol. Foram utilizados 1200 pintos de um dia de idade, distribuídos em um delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado com seis tratamentos, quatro repetições e 50 aves por unidade experimental. Os tratamentos consistiram de uma ração testemunha (RT) à base de milho e farelo de soja e outras cinco com 10, 20, 30, 40 e 50% de substituição da proteína do farelo de soja pela proteína do farelo de girassol. Observou-se efeito quadrático dos níveis crescentes do farelo de girassol sobre a conversão alimentar, na fase inicial, no consumo de ração e no ganho médio de peso, na fase de crescimento, e no ganho de peso, no período total. Em rações isoenergéticas e isoaminoacídicas para metionina+cistina e lisina digestíveis, a proteína do farelo de soja pode ser substituída pela proteína do farelo de girassol até o nível de 30%, o que corresponde a cerca de 15% de inclusão de farelo de girassol nas rações dos frangos de corte. A trial was carried out to evaluate the broiler chicks performance fed with increasing sunflower meal levels. A total of 1200 one-day-old chicks were allotted in a completely randomized design with six treatments, four replicates and 50 birds by experimental unit. The treatments consisted on a corn, soybean meal based control diet (RT) and five others with 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50% of soybean meal protein replacement by sunflower meal protein. A quadratic effect of the sunflower meal levels on feed gain at initial phase, on feed intake and average weight gain at growing phase and on weight gain at total period were observed. In isoenergetic and isoaminoacid diets for digestible methionine+cystine and lysine, the soybean meal protein can be replaced by the sunflower meal protein up to 30% level, which corresponds to nearly 15% of sunflower meal inclusion in the broiler chicks diets.

Ce document constitue le rapport final de la prospective "les protéines animales et végétales : de la production aux marchés et à la consommation" engagée par l'INRA depuis 1997. Cette prospective a pour objectif d'éclairer les principaux acteurs de la recherche, et en particulier l'INRA, en élaborant différents scénarios envisageables pour l'avenir et en proposant des stratégies de recherche adaptées à chacun de ces scénarios. Ce rapport final comporte trois grandes parties : l'élaboration d'une situation d'état du système des protéines et l'identification des processus, de sa dynamique actuelle, puis la construction de scénarios d'évolution à partir d'hypothèses, et enfin, l'analyse des conséquences en termes de stratégies de recherche.

Bu araştırma ile Türkiye'de ruminantlarm beslenmesinde yaygın olarak kullanılan pamuk tohumu küspesi ve ayçiçeği tohumu küspesi hücre duvarı unsurlarının (NDF, ADF, ADL) naylon torba tekniği (Bhargava ve Orskov, 1987) ile parçalanılabilirlikleri ve parçalanma karakteristiklerim belirlemek ve bu yemler arasında sözü edilen besin maddeleri halamından farklılıkları ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada 3 'er adet PTK ve ATK örneği kullanılmıştır. Yem örneklerinin hücre duvarı unsurlarının belirlenmesinde (Goering ve Van Soest, 1970; Van Soest, 1963)' ten yararlanılmıştır. Buna göre PTK1, PTK2, PTK3, ATKI, ATK2 ve ATK3 örneklerinin NDF değerleri (%, KM' de) sırasıyla 31.24, 38.81, 43.03, 46.14, 34.61 ve 44.08 olarak, ADF değerleri (%, KM' de) sırasıyla 25.44, 29.94, 32.20, 34.74, 22.63 ve 31.80 olarak, ADL değerleri (%, KM' de) sırasıyla 23.19, 26.95, 29.19, 30.25, 18.53 ve 26.93 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Yem örneklerinin parçalanılabilirlik karakteristiklerini belirlemek amacıyla 2,5 yaşlı, ortalama 82 kg canlı ağırlığında 3 adet kanüllü Anadolu Merinosu koç kullanılmış ve yem örnekleri 8, 16, 24, 48 ve 72. saat inkübasyona bırakılmışlardır. Deneme süresince hayvanlar aynı rasyon ile yenilenmişlerdir. İnkübasyon sonunda yem örneklerinin sindirilebilirliklerini, NDF, ADF ve ADL parçalanma karakteristiklerini p = a + b ( 1 - e `ct ) ve Pe= (a + be )/( c + k) (e ` (c+k) x * ) eşitlikleri kullanılarak saptanmıştır. Buna göre PTK1, PTK2, PTK3, ATKI, ATK2 ve ATK3 örneklerinin rumende etkin parçalanılabilirliği (Pe, 0.05 saat^'de) NDF için sırasıyla % 12.20, 10.23, 9.66, 14.33, 25.63 ve 16.00; ADF için sırasıyla % 14.17, 14.27, 12.30, 13.50, 18.30 ve 15.73 ve ADL için sırasıyla % 18.06, 13.47, 10.13, 14.60, 15.53 ve 15.26 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak; farklı orijinli PTK ve ATK örneklerinin rumende etkin parçalanılabilirlik (% Pe) oranı bu yemlerin farklı NDF, ADF ve ADL içerikleri tarafından etkilendiği görülmüştür. PTK örneklerinde NDF etkin parçalanılabilirliği (% Pe) sellüloz, lignin ve kül kapsamından ziyade örneklerin hemisellüloz kapsamı, ATK örneklerinde ise kısmen hemisellüloz tamamen lignin içeriklerindeki değişmeden kaynaklanmaktadır. PTK ve ATK örneklerinin ADF ve ADL etkin parçalanılabilirliği (% Pe) ise büyük oranda bu unsurları oluşturan lignin kapsamı tarafından etkilenmiştir. Key Words: Cotton seed meal, sunflower seed meal, cell wall components, nylon bag technique, degradability This research was conducted to investigate the rumen degradability characteristics and cell wall components of cotton and sunflower seed meals used in ruminant nutrition in Turkey. In this research, three samples of cotton and sunflower seed meals were used. In order to determine the cell wall components of seed samples, Goering and Van Soest (1970) and Van Soest's (1963) approaches were applied. NDF, ADF and ADL values (based on dry matter) of PTK1, PTK2, PTK3, ATKI, ATK2 and ATK3 samples were found 31.24, 38.81, 43.03, 46.14, 34.61 and 44.08; 25.44, 29.94, 32.20, 34.74, 22.63 and 31.80 ; 23.19, 26.95, 29.19, 30.25, 18.53 and 26.93, respectively. In order to determine the rumen degradability characteristics and cell wall components, three Anatolia merinos rams, 2.5 years old and 82 kg live weight, which were fitted with canullea, were used and the seed samples were incubated for 8, 16, 24, 48 and 72 h in rumen by using nylon bag tecnique. During the experiment, the animals were fed with the same rations. At the end of the incubation, digestibility of feed samples and degradability characteristics of NDF, ADF and ADL were determined using the equations ofp = a + b(l-e`ct ) and Pe= (a + bc)/(c + k)e-(c+k)xt). Research results showed that effective degradability (Pe) (at 0.05 h`1) of PTK1, PTK2, PTK3, ATKI, ATK2 and ATK3 in rumen as follow: NDF values; 12.20, 10.23, 9.66, 14.33, 25.63 and 16.00; ADF values; 14.17, 14.27, 12.30, 13.50, 18.30 and 15.73; ADL values; 18.06, 13.47, 10.13, 14.60, 15.53 and 15.26. In short, increasing effective degradability (Pe) ratio of cotton and sunflower seed meal was found to be affected by the variable contents of NDF, ADF and ADL of these samples. NDF effective rumen degradability (Pe) ratios were greatly differed within the samples of cotton seed meal and sunflower seed meal; this was due to hemicellülose content in cotton seed meal rather than cellulose, lignin and ash contents whereas this was partially due to hemicellülose and mostly lignin content in sunflower seed meal. L'Union européenne est un acteur important du marché international des oléagineux. Ses besoins en protéines et en huiles végétales sont extrêment élevés. Bien que, entre 1980 et 1994, cette zone ait sensiblement augmenté ses surfaces en oléagineux, elle reste un producteur mondial modeste et doit importer de pays tiers l'essentiel de ses besoins en graines, tourteaux et huiles. L'Amérique du Nord et celle du Sud constituent ses principaux fournisseurs, de même que certains pays asiatiques comme la Malaisie ou l'Indonésie, mais les échanges à l'intérieur de l'Union européenne et avec les pays d'Europe centrale et orientale (PECO) se sont nettement développés. Le faible taux de couverture de l'Europe, particulièrement en tourteaux, rend cette zone très vulnérable aux aléas du marché mondial et aux décisions qui peuvent être prises à l'étranger et tout particulièrement aux Etats-Unis. Alors que la mise en place de l'Agenda 2000, caractérisée par un net recul des surfaces dès la première année d'application, pose de nouveaux problèmes de compétitivité à ces cultures dans un contexte de faibles prix mondiaux, le maintien de la filière demeure un bien collectif pour les différents acteurs : consommateurs, agriculteurs, transformateurs et citoyens.

Les céréales et tourteaux d'oléagineux présentent une importance considérable aussi bien dans l'Union européenne (UE) que dans l'ensemble des pays d'Europe centrale et orientale (PECO). Ces deux zones ont en commun un très fort déficit en protéines alors qu'elles sont toutes deux équilibrées voire excédentaires en céréales. Le marché mondial approvisionné par les pays d'Amérique du Nord et du Sud sont leurs principaux fournisseurs, surtout en soja, cependant les échanges entre les deux zones se sont fortement développés au cours des dix dernières années, les PECO fournissant surtout des graines de tournesol et de colza à l'UE et l'UE des tourteaux de soja à ces pays. Une certaine complémentarité entre ces deux zones semble donc intéressante dans l'avenir pour les deux partenaires.

Istraživanjima je obuhvaćeno 30 krava koje su uz osnovni krmni obrok i žitarice dobivale 2,0 kg mljevene suncokretove ljuske na dan. Tijekom 14 dana povećan je postotak mliječne masti od prosječno 3,882%) na 4,087%), s tim daje od 60 istraživanih uzoraka mlijeka u tom razdoblju, 55% uzoraka sadržavalo više od 4,0%o masti. Postotak bjelančevina u mlijeku nije se značajnije mijenjao i iznosio je prosječno 3,255. U 58,3% uzoraka mlijeka bilo je 3,2 do 3,8% bjelančevina. U 2. razdoblju hranidbe iste krave su dobivale 1,0 kg mljevene suncokretove ljuske i 2,0 kg suncokretove sačme na dan. Postotak mliječne masti se nije značajnije mijenjao i iznosio je prosječno 4,02%. Između 4,0 do 5,0% masti bilo je u 46,6% istraženih uzoraka mlijeka. Dodatkom suncokretove sačme, međutim, povećao se postotak bjelančevina u mlijeku na prosječno 3,385%, s tim da je 65% uzoraka mlijeka sadržavalo bjelančevine između 3,2 do 3,8%, a 5% uzoraka između 3,8 do 4,0% (ukupno 70% iznad 3,2% bjelančevina). Međutim, bjelančevine između 3,2 i 3,8% nalazile su se u 45,1% uzoraka, a uz to u 23,5% uzoraka mlijeka bilo je iznad 3,8 do 4,0% bjelančevina (ukupno 68,6% uzoraka mlijeka sa sadržajem bjelančevina iznad 3,2%). Očigledno je mljevena suncokretova ljuska imala vrlo dobar utjecaj na povećanje masnoće mlijeka, a suncokretova sačma, osobito uz dodatak sojine sačme, na povećanje bjelančevina u mlijeku. Iz istraživanja se vidi specifičnost sinteze mliječne masti i bjelančevina s obzirom na strukturne elemente iz krmiva - za mast veći postotak sirove vlaknine iz mljevene suncokretove ljuske, a za bjelančevine aminokiseline iz suncokretove i sojine sačme. Uz to krave moraju dobivati s krmivima i druge hranjive tvari potrebne ne samo za metabolizam u sintezi mlijeka, nego i za druge životne potrebe. Krmni obroci krava moraju stoga biti dobro uravnoteženi sa svim hranjivim tvarima, a s tim u vezi pojedini sastojci pokazuju u prosječnim količinama izvjesnu povezanost, što je prikazano u tablicama 2., 3., 4. i 5. By sunflower hull replacement with 1.0 kg of soybean meal (addition to 2.0 kg sunflower meal) milk fats decreased to an average of 3.775% while proteins increased to an average of 4.482%. In this case only 37.3% milk samples showed milk fat value above 4.0%. The proteins content between 3.2 and 3.8% was analyzed in 45.1% samples. 23.5% milk samples showed protein content from 3.8 to 4.0% (which makes 68.6% milk samples with protein content above 3.2%)). It seems obvious that the ground sunflower hull addition had a positive effect on milk fat increase. Sunflower meal with soybean meal addition in feeding program had an effect on increased protein content in milk samples. From the experiments performed it can be seen that a close relationship exist between milk composition (milk fat and protein synthesis) and feeding program; i.e., higher fat content is due to fiber content in sunflower hull while higher protein content is a result of aminoacids present in sunflower and soybean meal. Apart from these feeds other nutritive factors in forages are essential not only for milk synthesis but to maintain other vital functions as well. It is obvious that feeding program should be well balanced in order to generate good milk quality. However it is worth mentioning that there always will be more or less variations due to feeding procedure, reproduction, stress etc.

III ÖZET Yüksek enerjili yüksek proteinli ayçiçeği tohumu küspesi (YEYP- ATK )'nin etlik piliçlerde canlı performans ve karkas randımanı ile abdominal yağ üzerine etkisini ölçmek üzere bir deneme düzenlenmiştir. Bu amaçla günlük Ross PM3 etlik piliçler alınmış, 14 gün süreyle standart broiler başlatma yemi ile yemleme yapıldıktan sonra deneme yemleri yedirilmiştir. Dört muameleden oluşan deneme yemleri 6'şar tekerrür halinde her birinde 10'ar civciv bulunan 3 katlı kafes ünitelerine şansa bağlı olarak tahsis edilmiştir. Bu amaçla toplam 240 civciv kullanılmış olup, deneme süresince (14-41 günler arasında) deneme yemleri ile ad libitum olarak yenilenmişlerdir. Civcivlere nipel suluklarla su verilmiş, denemenin yürütüldüğü oda 24 saat süreyle aydınlatılmıştır. YEYP-ATK'nın broiler canlı performansına etkilerini ölçmek üzere civcivler haftalık olarak tartılmış, yem tüketimleri saptanmış, canlı ağırlık artışı ve yem dönüşüm oranları ölçülmüştür. Muamelelerin karkas randımanı ve abdominal yağ üzerine etkilerini ölçmek üzere denemenin sonunda (41. gün) her tekerrürden 2 erkek 2 dişi şansa bağlı olarak seçilip ölçüm yapmak üzere kesilmiştir. ÖZET Etlik piliçlerde yüksek enerjili yüksek proteinli ayçiçeği küspesi (YPYE-ATK)'nin, canlı performans değerleri üzerine olan etkisini araştırmak üzere bir deneme yürütülmüştür. Bu çalışmada bir günlük R0SS-PM3 civcivleri erkek dişi karışık olarak kullanıldı. Deneme öncesi ilk iki hafta standart broyler başlatma yemi verildi. İki ile altıncı haftalar arası ise büyütme yemi verildi. YPYE-ATK %0, 15, 25 ve 33 düzeylerinde broyler büyütme rasy onunda sırasıyla %30, 15, 7.5 ve 0 oranlarında SFK yerine kullanılarak broyler cardı performansı ve sindirim sistemine olan etkileri incelendi. Bu amaçla 4 muamele 6'şar tekerrür halinde tamamıyla şansa bağlı deneme desenine uygun olarak test edildi. 14 günlük karışık cinsiyetli civcivlerin her 10 adedi 3 katlı broyler deneme kafesine yerleştirildi ve toplam 240 adet civciv kullanıldı. 4 test yemi izonitrojenik olarak formüle edildi. ÖZET Fosil yakıtların gelecekte tükenecek olması ve çevreyi kirleten atıklar bırakması, yeni ve yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarını gündeme getirmiştir. Bu enerji kaynaklarından bir kısmı yaygın olmamakla beraber günümüzde kullanılmaktadır. Ancak bunların kullanılması, varolan teknolojilerin geliştirilmesini yada yeni teknolojilerin bulunmasını gerekmektirmektedir. Çevreyi kirletmeyen yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklan arasında, özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkeler için uygulama alanı en geniş olanı belki de biyokütledir. Enerji depolanmasında karşılaşılan problemler gözönüne alındığında biyokütle çok büyük bir avantaj sağlamaktadır. Biyokütlenin cinsine, şekline ve yapısına bağlı olmaksızın, termal dönüşüm prosesleriyle, özellikle yüksek verimde sıvı ürün elde edilmesine olanak sağlayan piroliz yöntemiyle elde edilen sıvı ürün, iyileştirme işlemleri sonunda, kalorifik değeri yüksek, kolay depolanabilir ve taşınabilir özellikleriyle, petrol türevi sıvı yakıtlar için bir alternatif oluşturmaktadır. Although it is not comman, some of these energy resources are being used today. Their utolization requires the develop new technologies or to improve the existing ones. Among the non-polluted renewable energy resources, the biomass is probably the most common in particularly devolopping countries. It has a great advantage to solve problems encountered in the deposition of energy. Regardless of its type, form and construction, the biomass can be easly converted into the liguid products by using the methods of the pyrolysis. After improvisation processes these liguid products will possess the high calorific value and be easyly deposited and transported. In this respect they can be taken as an alternative fuels to the derivetives of the petroleum. In this study, under various pyrolysis conditions, the production of artificial fuels was aimed using the press cake as a by product of the sunflower oil factories. For this aim, the methot of flash pyrolysis was chosen. The IR spectrums and elemental analysis of the liquids produced in this study were obtained. Its calorific value was also determined. Additionaly, the product seperated into three fractions in an column cromatogramphy. Taken IR spectrums and gaz cromatograms of these fractions their elemental analysis and molar demostrations were also obtained. IV ÖZET Dünya nüfusunun hızla artmasına ve endüstrileşme ve hızlı şehirleşmeye bağlı olarak enerji ihtiyacı da hızla artmaktadır. Birincil enerji kaynaklarının bu şekilde kullanılması, gelecekte ihtiyaca cevap verecek olmaması, araştırmacıları yeni enerji kaynaklan bulmaya yöneltmiştir. Çevreyi kirletmeyen, kolay bulunabilen, kimyasal madde ve özellikle taşınabilir yakıt üretimi için uygun olan, yenilenebilir enerji kaynakları arasında, özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkelerde uygulama alanı en geniş olanı biyokütledir. Yapılan bu çalışmada, alternatif enerji kaynağı olarak incelenen, Euphorbia rigida, özütlenmiş Euphorbia rigida ve ayçiçek küspesi seçilmiştir. Euphorbia rigida Euphorbiaceae familyasına ait bir bitki olup, Ülkemizde kıraç arazilerde yetişmekte ve hiç bir şekilde değerlendirilememektedir. Ayçiçek küspesinin ise hayvan yemi ve direkt yakma olarak kullanılmasından başka değerlendirme alanı bulunmamaktadır. Euphorbia rigida, özütlenmiş Euphorbia rigida ve ayçiçek küspesinin sentetik yakıt üretimi amacıyla değişik koşullarda pirolizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın ilk aşamasında hammaddelerin pirolizi gerçekleştirilmiş ve piroliz sıcaklığı, ısıtma hızı, sürükleyici gaz akış hızı, parçacık boyutu gibi piroliz değişkenlerinin, piroliz ürün verimlerine etkisi araştırılmıştır. İkinci aşamada ise, hidropiroliz deneyleri gerçekleştirilmiş ve piroliz değişkenleri olarak hidropiroliz basıncı, hidropiroliz sıcaklığı, ısıtma hızı ve sürükleyici gaz akım hızlan incelenmiştir. Böylece Euphorbia rigida, özütlenmiş Euphorbia rigida ve ayçiçek küspesi'nin pirolizi ve hidropirolizinde en yüksek sıvı ürünün elde edilmesine uygun koşullar araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen sıvı ürünlerin (katran) İR ve lH NMR, spekturumları alınmış, elementel analizleri yapılmıştır. Euphorbia rigida piroliz sıvı ürününün benzetimli distilasyonu yapılıp, fraksiyonların günümüzde yaygın kullanımı olan petrol türevlerinden kerosen ve dizel yakıtın benzetimli distilasyon eğrileri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Ayrıca sıvı ürünler sütun kromatografısinde fraksiyonlara ayrılmış, fraksiyonların İR spekturumları alınmış, elementel analizleri gerçekleştirilerek molar gösterimleri ortaya konmuştur. Bundan başka alt fraksiyonların, FTIR spektrumları, alifatik, aromatik alt fraksiyonların gazkromatogramları alınmıştır. SUMMARY The need for energy have been increasing sharply due to rapid increase in world population, industriliasation and urbanisation. The extensive use of primary energy sources has lead researchers to find new energy sources. Among the renewable energy sources which are environmently, friendly, widely available and suitable in terms of chemical content and especially for transportable fuel production, biomass is used widely in developing countries. In this study, Euphorbia rigida, extracted Euphorbia rigida and sunflower bagasse were investigated as an alternative energy source. Euphorbia rigida, a plant belonging to Euphorbiaceae family, is grown in arid land of Turkey and is not utilised in any way. On the other hand, sunflower bagasse is only used as animal feed and direct solid fuel in domestic stoves and central heating boilers. Euphorbia rigida, extracted Euphorbia rigida and sunflower bagasse were pyrolysed under various conditions to produce synthetic fuel. In the first part of the study, raw materials are pyrolysed and the effect of pyrolysis parameters such as pyrolysis temperature, heating rate, gas flow rate, particle size on the pyrolysed product yield was investigated. In the second part, hydropyrolysis experiment were carried out and hydropyrolysis pressure, temperature, heating rate, gas flow rate were studied as pyrolysis parameters. As a result the conditions for highest liquid fuel yield were optimised. Liquid product produced in this study were characterised by Infrared spectroscopy (IR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy ^H-NMR) and elemental analyses. Simulated distillation of Euphorbia rigida pyrolysis liquid was undertaken and fractions obtained from this were compared with commonly used petroleum derivatives such as kerosene and diesel fuel. Also liquid product were fractioned in column chromatography, IR spectra and elemental analysis of fractionates were taken and type of hydrocarbons were found. Finally fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), spectra of subfractions and gas chromatography of aliphatic and aromatic subfractions were obtained. 172

The economic justification of using sunflower meal was investigated in an experiment carried out on 400 fattening chicks of the Jata line, divided into eight groups (1 control group and 7 experimental groups of 50 chicks each). Each of the eight groups was fed over a three-week period on starter mixture, after which they were divided into three new groups (24 groups of 15-17 chicks each). The newly formed groups were fed on a finisher mixture in the subsequent 4-6 weeks. The experimental groups of chicks fed on mixtures containing suflower meal, soybean meal, or on a mixture of sunflower and soybean meal, in a ratio of 50:50, were compared with the control group of chicks fed on a balanced commercial feed mixture in which the sources of protein were soybean meal and fish meal. In order to establish the economic justification of using sunflower meal in mixtures for fattening chicks, the cost of all feed mixtures used during the experiments, consumption of protein and energy per 1kg of gain in body mass, as well as the cost of body mass gain, were determined. The control consumed the most expensive of used mixtures (commercial starter and finisher) and the experimental chicks the cheapest, getting in their starter and finisher sunflower meal of unbalanced amino-acid composition and energy value as the source of protein. The highest protein and energy per 1kg of body mass gain were recorded in the group fed only on energy-balanced sunflower meal. The groups of chicks fed on amino-acid and energy- balanced mixtures, or balanced mixtures of soybean and sunflower meal, consumed less protein and energy per 1kg of body mass gain, with consumption being almost equal to that in the control group. An exceptionally high cost of body mass gain throughout the fattening period was experienced with the experimental groups of chicks fed on mixtures which, as the source of protein contained in sunflower meal of balanced amino-acid composition and energy value was about the same as in the controls ; the cheapest gains, however, were achieved in the groups of chicks fed on mixtures of soybean and sunflower meal.

In trials carried out on 400 fattening chicks of the Jata line, divided into eight groups (one control group and seven experimental groups), the influence of sunflower meal on the body mass, mass gain, feed conversion and mortality were studied. Each of the eight groups was fed over a three-week period on starter mixture, after which they were again divided into three new groups. The newly formed groups (a total of 24) were fed on the finisher mixture during the subsequent four weeks. The experimental groups of chicks fed on mixtures containing sunflower meal, soybean meal or on a mixture of soybean and sunflower meal, were compared with the control group fed on a balanced commercial feed mixture containing soybean meal and fish meal. Feed mixtures differed not onlx in their composition but also in amino-acid and energy value. On the basis of obtained results it was established that the feed mixture with sunflower meal of unbalanced amino-acid and energy composition had a negative effect on body mass gain and feed conversion. In order to make the chicks achieve satisfactory slaughter mass it was necessary to extend their fatteninf period by two weeks (a total of 63 days). Balance energy value produced only slightly better results than results achievedin the group fed on energy balanced mixture, and only energy and amino-acid correction together enabled good results to be achieved in thecontrol group. The same applied to the group of chicks receiving a mixture of sunflower and soybean meal as resorce of protein in the feed. Results of the research indicate that when using sunflower meal in feed mixtures for fattening chicks it is essential first to balance the amino- acid composition of proteins, particulary lysine, in which sunflower meal is deficient and then the energy value. The energy component by itself is insufficient for achieving satisfactory performance.

Bu çalışmada, enerji kaynağı olarak incelenen ayçiçek pres küspesinin nem, uçucu madde, yağ selüloz, protein, kül ve ısıl değer tayinleri yapılmıştır. Ayçiçek pres küspesine dönüştüm süreci olarak değişik proses şartlarında piroliz uygulanmış, sıvı ürün ve piroliz verimleri hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen piroliz katranının ısıl değeri ölçülmüş ve katran sütun kromatografisinde üç ayrı çözücü grubu ile fraksiyonlarına ayrılmış, uygulanan çözücülerin verimleri hesaplan- mıştır. An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of source of protein (soybean vs sunflower meal) and enzyme supplementation (no enzyme vs protease addition vs protease + xylanase addition) on digestion and growth traits of rabbits. Treatments were arranged factorially in six isonutritive diets. Two hundred and forty rabbits weaned at 25 or 35 days were used to measure dry matter and crude protein apparent ileal digestibility of diets at 35 or 45 days of age, respectively. Another one hundred and eighty animals weaned at 35 days were fed ad libitum in individual cages during four weeks to determine fattening performance. Source of protein did not affect digestion efficiency or feed conversion rate in the whole fattening period, but animals fed soybean meal-based diets showed higher feed intake, grew faster and had higher mortality than those fed sunflower meal-based diets. Addition of enzymes increased ileal apparent digestibility, especially in youngest animals when supplements contained xylanase besides protease activity. Enzyme supplementation did not affect any of the growth traits studied, but decreased fattening mortality in sunflower meal-based diets. Se realizó un experimento para determinar los efectos de la fuente de proteína (harina de soja vs harina de girasol) y de la suplementación enzimática (no suplementación vs adición de proteasas vs adición de proteasas + xilanasas) sobre parámetros digestivos y de crecimiento en conejos en cebo. Los tratamientos se estructuraron factorialmente en seis piensos isonutritivos. Se usaron doscientos cuarenta conejos destetados a los 25 ó 35 días de edad para medir la digestibilidad ileal aparente de la materia seca y de la proteína bruta de los piensos a los 35 ó 45 días de edad, respectivamente. Un grupo adicional de 180 animales destetados a los 35 días de edad fue alimentado ad libitum en jaulas individuales durante 4 semanas para determinar rendimientos productivos en el periodo de cebo. La fuente de proteína no afectó a la eficacia digestiva o a la conversión del alimento en el conjunto del periodo de cebo, pero los animales alimentados con piensos basados en soja crecieron más rápido y presentaron una mayor mortalidad que los que recibían dietas basadas en harina de girasol. La adición de enzimas incrementó la digestibilidad ileal aparente, cuando los suplementos contenían actividad xilanásica además de proteásica, especialmente en los animales más jóvenes. La suplementación con enzimas no afectó a ninguno de los parámetros de crecimiento estudiados, pero redujo la mortalidad en cebo en piensos basados en harina de girasol.
