Dissertação de Mestrado Conjunto Europeu em Tribologia de Superficies e Interfaces apresentada à Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia A investigação e desenvolvimento de ligas de titânio tem vindo a ser alvo de estudo durante as últimas décadas devido às suas superiors propriedades físicas, químicas e mecânicas quando comparado com outros ligas. No entanto, o fabrico de components em ligas de titânio é mais caro e requer mais tempo de processamento em comparação com outros metais devido à sua grande dificuldade de maquinar. Uma das principais soluções atualmente usadas para melhorar a maquinação das ligas de titânio é a aplicação de revestimentos na superficie das ferramentas de corte, que por um lado permitem aumentar a vida de ferramenta de corte e por outro melhorar a qualidade da superfície maquinada. Nesta tese, revestimentos industriais depositados em monocamada (TiAlN, TiAlCN) e em multicamada (TiAlN/TiAlCN) foram caracterizados relativamente a diferentes propriedades para determiner quais dos revestimentoa apresentam o melhor compromisso entre propriedades. Os revestimentos depositados foram caracterizados quanto à sua composição química, estrutura, morfologia, resistência à oxidação, estabilidade térmica, propriedades mecânicas e comportamento tribológico à temperatura ambiente. Como esperado os revestimentos apresentam diferentes composições químicas de Ti, Al, N e C devido à diferente composição dos alvos usados e potência aplicadas aos alvos durante a deposição. Todos os revestimentos apresentam uma estrutura fcc. A morfologia dos revestimentos em secção transversal exibem um crescimento columnar, onde o revestimento TiAlN apresenta uma morfologia mas densa do ques os outros revestimentos. O ponto de início de oxidação dos revestimentos é dependente da composição química dos revestimentos: ~900°C, ~850°C e ~800°C para os revestimentos TiAlN, TiAlCN e TiAlN/TiAlCN, respectivamente. Os testes isotérmicos realizados às amostras a 900°C durante 2 h aos revestimentos, promoveram a total oxidação dis revestimentos TiAlCN e TiAlN/TiAlCN, enquanto que o revestimento TiAlN foi apenas parcialmente oxidado. A notável resistência à oxidação do revestimento TiAlN deve-se à formação de uma camada continua e protetora de Al2O3 no topo da camada de óxido. A formação dessa fase foi identificada por difração de raios-x analyses SEM. O revestimento TiAlN/TiAlCN apresentou os maiores valores de dureza – 38 GPa e modulo de elastecidade – 363 GPa, entre os diferentes revestimentos. Após o recozimento, o revestimento TiAlN exibiu um grande aumento de dureza devido ao aumento da sua cristalinidade. Nos testes tribológicos, o coeficiente de atrito, a profundidade de desgaste e a taxa especifica de desgaste corroboram os resultados de dureza e tenacidade. As pistas de desgaste exibem um mecanismo de abrasão, caracterizadas pela presença de ranhuras e detritos. O revestiemnto TiAlN/TiAlCN apresentou o melhor desempenho tribológico devido à combinação de alta dureza e alta tenacidade à fratura em comparação coms outros revestimentos. The research and development on titanium alloys have been nourishing for quite some time due to their superior physical, chemical and mechanical properties. However, manufacturing titanium is more expensive and requires longer time compared with other metals due to its poor machinability. One of the leading solutions to address the difficulty in machining titanium is to deposit coating on the cutting tools in order lengthen the service lifetime and ensure good quality of machined surface. In this study, industrial made monolithic TiAlN, monolithic TiAlCN and multilayered TiAlN/TiAlCN coatings were thoroughly characterized to determine which coating displayed the best combination of properties. The deposited coatings were fully characterized for their chemical composition, structure and morphology, oxidation resistance, thermal stability, mechanical properties and tribological performance at room temperature. The coatings reported different chemical composition of Ti, Al, N and C due to the different targets, chemical composition and power applied to the target during deposition. All films displayed a fcc NaCl type structure. The SEM micrographs of the cross-section and surface morphology of the as-deposited coatings exhibited a columnar growth with TiAlN showing the densest structure. The onset point of oxidation was measured to be ~900°C, ~850°C and ~800°C for TiAlN, TiAlCN and TiAlN/TiAlCN, respectively. After the isothermal test at 900°C for 2 h, TiAlCN and TiAlN/TiAlCN were fully oxidized while a huge portion of the TiAlN coating still exists. The remarkable oxidation resistance of the latter coating was driven by the formation of a continuous and protective oxide scale Al2O3 on top of the oxide layer. The presence of this oxide scale was confirmed by XRD, SEM micrograph and elemental map distribution. The as-deposited TiAlN/TiAlCN reported the highest H and E values at 38 GPa and 363 GPa, respectively. Upon annealing, TiAlN exhibited a huge increase in hardness due to increase in crystallinity. In the tribological tests, the coefficient of friction, wear depth and wear rate corroborate the hardness and toughness results of the coatings. The wear track exhibit abrasion mechanism which is characterized by grooves and scratches and the presence of wear debris in fish-like form. The multilayered TiAlN/TiAlCN showed the best tribological performance due to the combination of high hardness and high fracture toughness compared to the monolithic TiAlN and TiAlCN coatings. TMD coatings are a breakthrough in aerospace and automobile sector where low friction and low wear is required along with the coatings ability to withstand harsh and humid environments. The current study aims to systematically characterize the influence of N additions on structure, morphology, hardness, tribological behavior and thermal stability of WSN coatings deposited by sputtering. By varying the N2 flow into the deposition chamber, 4 coatings with N content ranging from 0 – 21.9 at. % were deposited. Highest S/W ratio of 1.5 was exhibited by reference WSN0 coating. Total film thicknesses along with Cr interlayer and gradient layer was in range of 2.1 – 2.4 µm. Reference WS2 coating had a crystalline structure, whereas with increasing N at. % content coatings exhibited broad XRD diffraction peaks as a result of the contribution of two different phases. Coating with the highest N concentration displayed an amorphous structure. Coatings were characterized tribologically against 100Cr6 steel ball in SRV tribometer at room temperature and 200ᵒC. Wear rate analysis showed that W-S-N coatings tested tribologically at high temperature performed better than the coatings tested at room temperature. Thermal stability was determined by annealing the coatings at 200ᵒC and 400ᵒC. No visible changes in the morphology and structure of the coatings were noticed with heat treatment.Conclusion: W-S-N coatings with progressive increase of N concentration were deposited from a WS2 target along with nitrogen gas flow in the chamber. The influence of N flow (sccm) on the properties of as deposited and heat-treated coatings was explored. • Increasing N flow from 0 to 20 sccm led to increase nitrogen content in coatings from 0 at. % to 22 at. %. The maximum S/W ratio (in case of WSN0) obtained was 1.45 for both as deposited and heat-treated coatings and then it decreased with N addition due to high affinity of W towards N instead of S. • Pure WSN0 coatings performed inadequately in terms of adhesion, hardness, and wear rate because of their loose and porous columnar morphology. Reference WSN0 coatings showed a crystalline structure, whereas with the increasing flow of nitrogen in the chamber coatings with higher concentration of N, such as WSN20 became X-ray amorphous. The presence of W-S-N phase in N rich coatings is not evident but W2N phase could be indexed in the XRD diffractograms. N incorporation in the lattice structure with low S/W ratio have caused the shift in peak for N rich coatings. • The hardness of coatings has evidently increased as the morphology became compact with nitrogen addition in the coatings with WSN12.5 being the highest in value. The coatings that were annealed displayed better hardness results in comparison to the as deposited coatings. This hardness increase of coatings during annealing is due to the increase of their crystallinity. W-S-N sputtered coatings displayed excellent sliding properties in comparison to literature with good coating adhesion and low wear rates. • The tribological results obtained with low S/W ratio along with nitrogen doping were quite impressive and current study appeared to be the successful beginner step in upscaling the industrial applications for systems sliding in high temperature atmospheres. A aplicação de revestimentos do tipo TMDs no setor aeroespacial e automóvel têm permitido avanços significativos em componentes onde baixo atrito e baixo desgaste são necessários, juntamente com a capacidade dos revestimentos de resistir a ambientes hostis e húmidos. O presente estudo visa caracterizar sistematicamente a influência da adição de N na estrutura, morfologia, dureza, resistência ao desgaste e estabilidade térmica de revestimentos do sistema WSN depositados por pulverização catódica. Variando o fluxo de N2 na câmara de deposição, 4 revestimentos com teor de N (entre 0 e 21,9 at. %) foram depositados. O revestimento de referência A razão S/ W mais alta de WSN0 apresentou a razão mais alta de S/W. A espessura total dos filmes juntamente com a intercamada de Cr e a camada de gradiente encontra-se entre 2.1 – 2.4 µm. O revestimento de referência apresenta uma estrutura cristalina. O aumento do teor de N nos revestimentos resulta num alargamento dos picos de difração devido à contribuição de duas novas fases. O revestimento com maior concentração de N apresenta uma estrutura amorfa. Os revestimentos foram caracterizados tribologicamente num equipamento SRV contra uma bola de aço 100Cr6 à temperatura ambiente e a 200ᵒC. Os revestimentos W-S-N testados tribologicamente aalta temperatura apresentaram um melhor desempenho que os revestimentos testados à temperatura ambiente. The interest in research echoes the need to communicate experiences in the formative dynamics of the coordinator's activities and knowledge, as a professional who needs to be known in the course of his formative life and culminates in the defining question of the research: “how the pedagogical coordinator can develop his activities in front of to the curriculum of Early Childhood Education enhanced by its autobiographical writing?”. The main objective is to get to know the pedagogical coordinator in his activities along with the curriculum through the autobiographical narrative with a view to the construction of an educational product. And, it unfolds in the specific objectives that aim: to investigate the history of pedagogical coordination in the midst of its pedagogical activities before the curriculum of Early Childhood Education; identify the interrelation of the autobiographical perspective as a self-formative strategy with the pedagogical coordinator; to build a Narrative Notebook in collaboration with a pedagogical coordinator to contribute to its self-formative path. This research with a qualitative approach establishes a methodology under the bibliographic and documentary bias through the literature review anchored in studies by Giroux (1986), Cunha (1997), Kramer and Souza (2003), Libâneo (2004), Horta (2007), Gomes (2009), Placco and Souza (2012), Placco and Almeida (2012), Goodson (2018) and the most current documents of Early Childhood Education (DCNEI; BNCCEI), and the research by Benjamin (1987), Larrosa (2002), Josso (2007), Jovchelovitch and Bauer (2010), Sousa and Cabral (2015) and Souza and Meireles (2017), lead it to the autobiographical approach, having autobiographical letters to collect information about the pedagogical coordinator who assumes himself as the research subject, using ICT tools (email and whatsapp), to the detriment of the Covid-19 pandemic. After collecting and systematizing the data, a descriptive and interpretive analysis was carried out, respecting representations and apprehensions placed by the writings of the self, coming to compose the construction of the educational product, which brings within the scope of its structure the compilation of suggestions to the process. of selftraining, mediated in the coordinator's continuing education through autobiographical letters, as material for the continuation of future research in the narrative / autobiographical perspective. A tessitura desta pesquisa dá-se na costura de um estudo sobre o coordenador pedagógico, compreendido como sujeito de narrativas, que atravessam seu percurso autoformativo ao desenvolver atividades no âmbito da Educação Infantil, e do currículo, enquanto artefato cultural que se processa nas inter-relações sociais e pedagógicas. O interesse pela pesquisa reverbera a necessidade de comunicar experiências transcorridas na dinâmica formativa dos fazeres e saberes do coordenador, enquanto profissional que precisa ser conhecido no decurso da vida formativa e culmina no questionamento definidor da pesquisa: “como o coordenador pedagógico poderá desenvolver suas atividades frente ao currículo da Educação Infantil potencializada pela sua escrita autobiográfica?”. O objetivo central se consolida em conhecer o coordenador pedagógico em suas atividades junto ao currículo pela narrativa autobiográfica com vistas à construção de um produto educacional. E, desdobra-se nos objetivos específicos que visam: investigar a história da coordenação pedagógica no bojo de suas atividades pedagógicas diante do currículo da Educação Infantil; identificar a inter-relação da perspectiva autobiográfica como estratégia autoformativa junto ao coordenador pedagógico; construir um Caderno Narrativo em colaboração com coordenador pedagógico em contribuição ao seu percurso autoformativo. Esta pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa estabelece uma metodologia sob o viés bibliográfico e documental através da revisão de literatura ancorada em estudos de Giroux (1986), Cunha (1997), Kramer e Souza (2003), Libâneo (2004), Horta (2007), Gomes (2009), Placco e Souza (2012), Placco e Almeida (2012), Goodson (2018) e os documentos mais atuais da Educação Infantil (Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para a Educação Infantil (DCNEI) e Base Nacional Comum Curricular para a Educação Infantil (BNCCEI)), e as pesquisas de Benjamin (1987), Larrosa (2002), Josso (2007), Jovchelovitch e Bauer (2010), Sousa e Cabral (2015)e Souza e Meireles (2017), encaminham-na à abordagem autobiográfica, dispondo de cartas autobiográficas para recolha de informações acerca do coordenador pedagógico que se assume como sujeito da pesquisa, lançando mão de ferramentas das Tecnologias da informação e comunicação (TICs) (e-mail e whatsapp), em detrimento da pandemia da COVID-19. Após a recolha e a sistematização dos dados processou-se a análise descritiva e interpretativa, respeitando representações e apreensões postas pelas escritas de si, vindo a compor a construção do produto educacional, o qual traz no escopo de sua estrutura a compilação de sugestões ao processo de autoformação, mediatizado na formação continuada do coordenador pelas cartas autobiografadas, como material para continuidade de futuras pesquisa na perspectiva narrativa/autobiográfica.

Programa Doutoral em Engenharia de Materiais, Nesta tese, foram depositados revestimentos do sistema TiSiN com incorporação de prata como agente lubrificante utilizando a técnica de high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) a trabalhar em deep oscillations magnetron sputtering (DOMS), de forma a avaliar o seu comportamento químico, estrutural, morfológico, mecânico, térmico e tribológico. A sua performance numa operação de maquinagem foi também estudada de forma a determinar a potencial aplicação destes revestimentos em ferramentas de corte para maquinar a liga aerospacial TiAl6V4, considerada “difícil de maquinar”. A matriz de TiSiN foi escolhida pelas sua bem conhecida elevada dureza e resistência à oxidação e também pela barreira de difusão proporcionada pela fase SiN que poderá ajudar a travar a rápida difusão da prata. O conteúdo de prata presente nos revestimentos foi de 0 a 29 at.%, sendo que um filme de TiSiN, sem qualquer prata, foi também depositado que serviu de referência ao longo desta tese. Durante as deposições, a introdução de pellets de prata no alvo foi aumentando, progressivamente, o teor de prata nos revestimentos levando a que influenciasse a taxa de deposição, a estrutura e a morfologia dos filmes. Todos os revestimentos apresentaram picos cristalinos na análise de difração de raios X, atribuídos à estrutura cfc TiN tipo NaCl. A adição de prata contribuiu significativamente para o alargamento desses mesmos picos e para o decréscimo abrupto do tamanho de grão das cristalites de TiN. A adição de prata levou também a um decréscimo da dureza e do módulo de Young dos revestimentos devido ao crescente aumento da fase macia na microestrutura. O recozimento dos filmes em atmosfera protetora não promoveu quaisquer mudanças significativas na estrutura/composição fásica ou nas propriedades mecânicas. A prata nos filmes continuou homogeneamente distribuída na matriz. O recozimento em atmosfera oxidante permitiu anotar, através da difração de raios X in-situ a alta temperatura, os primeiros sinais de oxidação aos 850 ºC com o aparecimento dos picos de rutilo TiO2. Nas partes que ficaram por oxidar dos revestimentos, a prata continuou homogeneamente distribuída na matriz. A análise termogravimétrica confirmou que a adição de prata não teve qualquer influência no ponto de inicio de oxidação. No entanto, mostrou que a velocidade com que a oxidação ocorre se deteriora, claramente, com a introdução de prata. Uma incomum perda de massa foi também descoberta na análise dos revestimentos com 6 e 10 at.% de prata, explicado pela evaporação/sublimação da prata.O comportamento tribológico dos revestimentos foi aferido a altas temperaturas e com dois tipos diferentes de contra corpos (bolas de alumina e TiAl6V4). Os testes conduzidos à temperatura ambiente contra as bolas de alumina mostrou um ligeiro decréscimo no coeficiente de atrito mas, ao mesmo tempo, uma deterioração da resistência ao desgaste. Esta resistência é melhorada á temperatura acrescida de 600 ºC, quando comparado com os seus equivalentes à temperatura ambiente. Os testes contra as bolas de TiAl6V4 mostraram a prata a apresentar um efeito benéfico na redução do atrito e do desgaste. Foi ainda observado que a prata diminui e/ou atrasa a adesão de material à superfície de desgaste. Estes resultados começaram a indiciar a promissora aplicação destes revestimentos em ferramentas de corte para a maquinagem de ligas de titânio. Finalmente, dois tipos diferentes de insertos foram testados no torneameanto, a seco, da liga aerospacial TiAl6V4. Um dos tipos de insertos foi testado em ambiente laboratorial com um torno mecânico, enquanto que o outro tipo foi testado numa máquina CNC. Estes últimos foram testados para serem comparados e referenciados em relação a um revestimento comercial de AlTiN. Em ambos os casos, o comportamento foi semelhante com a adição de prata a mostrar uma clara melhoria no tempo de vida dos insertos, especialmente para as velocidades de corte mais altas. A prata mostrou ainda o seu efeito como lubrificante sólido ao reduzir o desgaste e a formação de built-up edges (BUE). No geral, esta tese atingiu e mostrou o potencial da aplicação dos revestimentos TiSiN(Ag) em ferramentas de corte para usar na maquinagem da liga aerospacial TiAl6V4, sem a aplicação de qualquer lubrificante líquido., TiSiN coatings with incorporation of silver serving as the lubrication agent, were deposited by high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) working in deep oscillation magnetron sputtering (DOMS) mode in order to evaluate the chemical, structural, morphological, mechanical and thermal behaviour. The tribological and machining performance was also assessed to determine the potential application of these coatings in cutting tools to machine the hard-to-cut TiAl6V4 aerospace alloy. TiSiN matrix was selected owing to its well-known high hardness and oxidation resistance and due to reported diffusion barrier property of the SiN phase that could help hindering the fast diffusion of the silver. Silver content on the coatings ranged from 0 to 29 at.% with a TiSiN film also being deposited to serve as the reference throughout the whole characterization. During the depositions, the introduction of silver pellets on the target progressively increased the Ag concentration on the films, influencing the deposition rate, structure and morphology of the films. All the coatings displayed crystalline peaks assigned to a TiN fcc NaCl type structure. Ag additions significantly broadened these TiN diffraction peaks and abruptly decreased the grain size of the TiN crystallites. Hardness and Young's modulus of the coatings decreased with increasing Ag additions mainly due to the increase of this soft phase on the microstructure. Annealing treatment in protective atmosphere didn't promote any significant changes in the structure/phase composition or mechanical properties of the coatings. The silver signal kept being homogeneously distributed on the coatings. When oxidative atmosphere was present, in-situ hightemperature X-ray diffractograms allowed to observe the first signs of oxidation occurring at about 850 °C with the appearance of the rutile TiO2 peaks. Observation of even distribution of silver was still possible on the un-oxidized part of the films. TGA analysis showed that silver addition did not change the onset point of oxidation of the coatings. However, the oxidation rate deteriorated with the presence of Ag. An unusual mass loss could be observed for the coatings with 6 and 10 at.% of Ag, as a result of silver evaporation/sublimation process. The tribological behaviour of the coatings was assessed at high temperatures and by using two different types of counterbodies (alumina and TiAl6V4 balls). Room temperature (RT) tests conducted against alumina balls showed that silver slightly decreases the friction but deteriorates the wear resistance. Wear resistance is improved when the temperature is increased to 600 °C, when compared to RT tests. The tests against TiAl6V4 balls showed that silver has a beneficial effect in the reduction of friction and wear. Additionally, silver hinders the adhesion of material to the wear track. Temperature also plays an important role in propelling the effects of silver. These results started to show the promising application of these coatings in cutting tools to machine titanium alloys. Finally, two type of cutting inserts were tested in the dry turning of the TiAl6V4 aerospace alloy. First type of cutting inserts were tested in laboratorial environment using a conventional lathe, whilst, second types of inserts were tested in an CNC machine. Tests in the CNC machine were performed to assess their performance benchmarked in relation to a commercial insert coated with AlTiN coating. In both of these tests, the same behaviour was found with the addition of silver clearly displaying an improvement in the tool life of the inserts, especially for higher cutting speeds. Addition of silver also showed its solid lubricant effect by reducing either the wear or the formation of built-up edges (BUE) during the tests. Ultimately, this thesis achieved and showed the potential application of TiSiN(Ag) coatings in cutting tools for the machining of the TiAl6V4 aerospace alloy under dry conditions.

Dissertação de mestrado em Construção e Reabilitação Sustentáveis, A reabilitação de edifícios cresce cada dia mais no setor da construção devido a quase inexistência de espaços físicos para onde expandir os centros urbanos e à sustentabilidade, assunto cada vez mais importante e necessário na área, bem como a valorização pela história dos edifícios e seus métodos construtivos. Esses fatores juntos contribuem para a reutilização de edifícios em detrimento do projeto de novas construções. Enquanto isso, os avanços tecnológicos na indústria da Arquitetura, Engenharia e Construção crescem cada dia mais e com isso a implementação do Building Information Modelling (BIM) nas metodologias de projeto e construção tem se tornado fundamental. Ao falar sobre reabilitação de edifícios, BIM e arquitetura, é possível deparar-se com algumas problemáticas que envolvem os assuntos citados. O objetivo principal dessa dissertação é dar início a implementação da metodologia BIM de forma prática dentro do escritório de arquitetura em um projeto de reabilitação funcional escolhido em conjunto com os arquitetos do gabinete de arquitetura Outrasformas. Foi tido como base um estudo de caso no Largo da Oliveira em Guimarães, onde foram definidos alguns parâmetros como criação de fases de projeto, criação de folhas de impressão parametrizadas, definição de nomenclaturas de arquivos para dar início essa implementação através do software escolhido Autodesk Revit. Foi analisado o processo através das fases de projeto de acordo com a Portaria 701-H/2008 e foram extraídas com intenção de licenciamento peças desenhadas do projeto e algumas imagens tridimensionais para mostrar ao Dono de Obra., Renovation buildings grows more and more in the construction sector due to the almost inexistence of physical spaces to expand urban centers and sustainability, an increasingly important and necessary subject in the area, as well as the appreciation of the history of buildings and their methods constructive. These factors together contribute to the reuse of buildings at the expense of new construction design. Meanwhile, technological advances in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry are growing more and more and with this the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in design and construction methodologies has become fundamental. When talking about building rehabilitation, BIM and architecture, it is possible to come across some issues that involve the aforementioned subjects. The main objective of this dissertation is to start the implementation of the BIM methodology in a practical way within the architecture office in a functional rehabilitation project chosen together with the architects of the architecture office Outrosformas. It was based on a case study in Largo da Oliveira in Guimarães, where some parameters were defined, such as the creation of project phases, creation of parameterized print sheets, definition of file nomenclatures to start this implementation through the chosen Autodesk Revit software . The process was analyzed through the project phases in accordance with “Portaria 701-H/2008” and drawings of the project and some three-dimensional images were extracted, with the intention of licensing, to show the Owner of Work.

Dissertação de Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Mecânica apresentada à Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia In this Master's Thesis, the goal was to characterize two types of self-lubricating coatings: i) TiSiN/TiN(Ag) coatings and ii) TiSiN/VN coatings, both produced in multilayer configuration. In the first case, the investigation was focused on the study of the influence of Ag additions on the mechanical properties, structure, morphology, thermal stability and oxidation resistance of the coatings. With this objective, three films with increasing silver concentration (0, 9 and 14 at.%) were produced. In the case of the TiSiN/VN coatings, the objective was to verify the influence of change in the individual TiSiN layer thickness on the mechanical properties, morphology, structure, thermal stability, vanadium diffusion and oxidation resistance of those coatings. The coatings studied in this work were produced by reactive magnetron sputtering (PVD). The results showed that both coating systems presented a multilayer structure with a columnar morphology. The addition of silver to the TiSiN/TiN coatings promoted the densification of their morphology. However, the reduction of TiSiN layer thickness in the multilayer TiSiN/VN system has an opposite effect. The adhesion critical loads, hardness and Young’s modulus of the TiSiN/TiN(Ag) coatings decrease with the increase of the silver content. The same tendency is observed with the increase in the thickness of TiSiN layer in the TiSiN/VN system. Annealing treatment conducted at protective atmosphere increases crystallinity degree of the coatings and consequently their hardness and Young’s modulus values. Under annealing conditions at protective the TiSiN layer in the multilayer configuration allowed the control of the of Ag and V diffusion. The oxidation resistance of the coatings is degraded with the increase of the Ag content in the TiSiN/TiN(Ag) system and with decreased thickness of the TiSiN layer in TiSiN/VN coatings. TiSiN/TiN(Ag) coatings have better oxidation resistance than TiSiN/VN coatings. Nesta Dissertação de Mestrado, procurou-se caracterizar dois tipos de revestimentos auto-lubrificantes: i) revestimentos do sistema TiSiN/TiN(Ag) e ii) revestimentos do sistema TiSiN/VN, ambos produzidos em multicamada. No primeiro caso a investigação foi focada no estudo da influência da adição de prata nas propriedades mecânicas, estrutura, morfologia, estabilidade térmica e resistência à oxidação dos revestimentos. Com este objetivo foram produzidos três filmes com teores crescentes de prata (0, 9 e 14 at.%). No caso dos revestimentos do sistema TiSiN/VN o objetivo focou-se em averiguar a influência da espessura da camada individual de TiSiN nas propriedades mecânicas, morfologia, estrutura, estabilidade térmica, difusão de vanádio e resistência à oxidação dos revestimentos. Os revestimentos estudados neste trabalho foram produzidos por pulverização catódica (PVD). Os resultados mostraram que ambos os sistemas de revestimentos apresentaram estruturas multicamadas com morfologias colunares. A adição de prata aos revestimentos do sistema TiSiN/TiN promove a densificação da morfologia dos revestimentos, ao passo que, a redução da espessura da camada de TiSiN na multicamada do sistema TiSiN/VN tem um efeito contrário. As cargas críticas de adesão, dureza e modulo de elasticidade dos revestimentos do sistema TiSiN/TiN(Ag) tendem a diminuir com o aumento do teor de prata. O mesmo efeito é observado com a redução da espessura da camada de TiSiN no sistema TiSiN/VN. O recozimento tende a aumentar o grau de cristalinidade dos revestimentos e consequentemente os valores de dureza e módulo de elasticidade. Os recozimentos realizados em atmosfera protetora às amostram mostraram que as camadas de TiSiN permitem controlar a difusão de prata e vanádio. A resistência à oxidação dos revestimentos é reduzida com o aumento do teor de prata no sistema TiSiN/TiN(Ag) e com diminuição da espessura da camada de TiSiN nos revestimentos do tipo TiSiN/VN. Os revestimentos do sistema TiSiN/TiN(Ag) apresentam valores de resistência à oxidação superiores aos revestimentos do sistema TiSiN/VN.

Dissertação de Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Mecânica apresentada à Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia This Master's dissertation seeks to compare the properties of tungsten-doped DLC coatings (DLC-W) deposited with two different deposition sources: i) DCMS - direct current source, conventional source used in film making, and HIPIMS - high-energy source, recently introduced in the market.In this work three coatings were produced: i) DCMS deposited DLC-W which will serve as a reference to HiPIMS films, ii) HiPIMS deposited DLC-W and iii) HiPIMS deposited DLC-W using a CH4 reactive atmosphere for the introduction of hydrogen (H) into the coating. The coatings produced were characterized in terms of their chemical composition, morphology, crystalline structure, mechanical properties and tribological behavior using two characterization equipments: i) POD and ii) SRV. Concerning these tribological tests, they were performed at room temperature (RT), high temperature (HT), at 150ºC, and in a controlled environment (EC), under a nitrogen atmosphere. Using as a counter-body 100Cr6 steel balls (AISI 51200).From the obtained results it was verified that the morphology and the structure of the films did not have great variations from process to process. But the processes have a great influence on the mechanical properties of the films, with the DCMS process creating films with greater Young's modulus and hardness, but with less adhesive and cohesive capabilities. When the HiPIMS Ch4 process presented the worst hardness and modulus, but with the best adhesive and cohesive capacities. In the end, the coatings deposited by DCMS presented the best tribological behavior, having the lowest specific wear rate of all coatings. tested independently of service conditions, while showing friction coefficient values, and showing wear mechanisms identical to the others. Nesta dissertação de Mestrado procura-se comparar as propriedades de revestimentos do tipo DLC dopados com tungsténio (DLC-W), depositados com duas fontes de deposição diferentes: i) DCMS – fonte de corrente contínua, fonte convencional usada no fabrico de filmes, e HIPIMS – fonte de altos impulsos de energia, recentemente introduzida no mercado. Neste trabalho foram produzidos três revestimentos: i) DLC-W depositado por DCMS que servirá como referência aos filmes produzidos por HiPIMS, ii) DLC-W depositado por HiPIMS e iii) DLC-W depositado por HiPIMS utilizando ainda uma atmosfera reativa de CH4 para introdução de hidrogénio (H) no revestimento. Os revestimentos produzidos foram caracterizados relativamente à sua composição química, morfologia, estrutura cristalina, propriedades mecânicas e comportamento tribológico usando dois equipamentos de caracterização: i) pino-disco e ii) ensaios alternativo. No que concerne estes testes tribológicos, eles foram realizados à temperatura ambiente (RT), a alta temperatura (HT), a 150ºC, e em ambiente controlado (CE), em atmosfera de azoto. Usando como contra-corpo bolas de aço 100Cr6 (AISI 51200).Dos resultados obtidos verificou-se que a morfologia e a estrutura dos filmes não teve grandes variações de processo para processo. Mas os processos têm grande influência nas propriedades mecânicas dos filmes, com o processo DCMS a criar filmes com maior dureza e modulo de Young, mas com menor capacidades adesivas e coesivas. Quando o processo de HiPIMS Ch4 foi aquele que apresentou pior dureza e módulo, mas com melhores capacidades adesivas e coesivas. Que no final os revestimentos depositados por DCMS foram aqueles que melhor comportamento tribológico apresentaram, tendo a menor taxa específica de desgaste de todos os revestimentos testados independentemente das condições de serviço, isto enquanto ostenta valores de coeficiente de atrito, e mostrando mecanismos de desgaste idênticos aos demais.

Acompanha: Memórias da escola itinerante “Maria Aparecida Rosignol Franciosi”: a escola que caminhou com a comunidade do Acampamento Eli Vive Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo registrar as memórias da história da Escola Itinerante “Maria Aparecida Rosignol Franciosi”, dos tempos de acampamento dos atuais Assentamentos Eli Vive I e II, localizados no distrito de Lerroville, no município de Londrina, estado do Paraná. Para tanto, utilizou-se da História Oral como fundamentação teórica e metodológica para o registro e o trabalho com as narrativas produzidas a partir de sete entrevistas, com educadoras e educadores que trabalharam, organizaram e construíram essa escola, em seus anos de funcionamento (2009-2016). As narrativas possibilitaram contar uma história da experiência de fazer uma outra escola, qualificada pela ação política direta de sua comunidade e que se faz na e pela coletividade do povo Sem Terra, que, pensada e feita pela comunidade do Acampamento Eli Vive, foi reconhecida como necessidade para a própria continuidade e qualidade da luta pela Reforma Agrária Popular. Ainda, como fruto desta pesquisa, está a elaboração de um livro ilustrado destinado ao trabalho pedagógico nas atuais escolas dos Assentamentos Eli Vive I e II, que, ao contar a história da Escola Itinerante dos tempos de acampamento, aborda os tempos da ocupação das terras, dos diferentes lugares em que a comunidade esteve, do trabalho coletivo da comunidade ao construir e cuidar da escola, apresenta as educadoras e os educadores que trabalharam nessa escola e, que por sua prática educativa, vinculada ao Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra, fizeram dessa a história de uma outra escola. This research aims to record the memories of Itinerant School “Maria Aparecida Rosignol Franciosi”, from the camping times of the current Assentamentos Eli Vive I and II, located in the district of Lerroville, in the municipality of Londrina, state of Paraná. The Oral History was used as a theoretical and methodological basis for recording and working with the narratives produced from seven interviews, with educators who worked, organized and built this school in its years of operation (2009-2016). The narratives tell a history of the experience of doing another school, qualified by the direct political action of its community and done in and by the collective of the people Sem Terra, which, thought and done by the Acampamento Eli Vive community, was recognized as necessity for the very continuity and quality of the struggle for Popular Agrarian Reform. Also, as a result of this research, is the elaboration of an illustrated book destined to the pedagogical work in the current schools of the Assentamento Eli Vive I and II, which, when telling the history of the Itinerant School of the times of camping, addresses the times of the occupation of the lands, of the different places in which the community was, of the collective work of the community in constructing and taking care of the school, presents the educators who worked in this school and, through its educational practice, linked to the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra the history of another school.

Orientador: Jackeline Rodrigues Mendes Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Educação Resumo: A dimensão pedagógica da Etnomatemática perpassa e é tratada/abordada por uma grande parcela de trabalhos de pesquisa deste campo, considerado pluri e transdisciplinar. E, em vários destes trabalhos, encontramos ações pedagógicas orientadas pela Etnomatemática desenvolvidas em diferentes contextos escolares de diferentes espaços culturais e geográficos brasileiros. O foco desta pesquisa está em compreender como os sujeitos participantes destas ações se constituem e como funcionam, no interior das práticas discursivas e das relações de poder que mobilizam e/ou que são produzidas estas/nestas ações. A tese que move/impulsiona este estudo trata da compreensão de que os discursos que mobilizaram e/ou que foram (re)significados pelos pesquisadores ao desenvolverem ações pedagógicas orientadas pela Etnomatemática - assim como as relações de poder que produzem e fazem movimentar esses discursos - operam de modo a produzir certas posições-sujeito não somente para o professor e o aluno; mas, também, para as pessoas pertencentes aos grupos socioculturais envolvidos. Tese que suscita duas questões analíticas: (a) Questão principal: a partir de uma analítica discursiva, como estes sujeitos e estas ações pedagógicas orientadas pela Etnomatemática funcionam/operam de certos modos e não de outros?; (b) Questão secundária: quais saberes (inclusive aqueles identificados como matemáticos) são produzidos e/ou mobilizados nos/pelos discursos e nas/pelas relações de poder e como participam ou contribuem para o funcionamento/constituição destes sujeitos? Assim, o corpus analítico desta pesquisa é composto por alguns destes trabalhos, os quais foram selecionados dentre um conjunto mais amplo. Como recurso teórico-metodológico, recorro a uma analítica discursiva, principalmente numa perspectiva foucaultiana, a qual foi se constituindo ao longo dos vários movimentos desta Tese. Como conclusão, sempre parcial e em construção, pude perceber certos enunciados que emergem de uma discursividade que mobiliza/atravessa estas ações pedagógicas orientadas pela Etnomatemática e que, impulsionadas por propósitos tanto epistemológicos quanto subjetivos-posicionais, possibilitam a existência de uma prática de condução das ações dos sujeitos. Prática que contribui, por sua vez, para a constituição/produção e funcionamento de certas posições-sujeito (de)marcadas no interior das práticas discursivas e das relações de poder inerentes a estas ações pedagógicas, produzindo também certos saberes (pedagógicos, curriculares) referentes aos modos como os saberes identificados como matemáticos devem ser mobilizados. Mobilização que percebo se fazer necessária para a produção e funcionamento das posições-sujeito Abstract: The pedagogical dimension of Ethnomathematics runs through and is treated/aproached by a large number of research works in this field considerated pluri and transdisciplinary. And in several of this works we find pedagogical actions guided by Ethnomathematics being developed in different school contexts of different Brazilian cultural and geographic spaces. The focus of this research is to understand how the participants of these actions are constituted and how they act within the discursive practices and within the power relations that mobilize and/or produce these actions. The thesis that moves/drives this study deals with the understanding that the discourses that mobilized and/or were (re)signified by the researchers when they developed pedagogic actions guided by Ethnomathematics, - as well as the power relations that produce and make move these discourses -, operate to produce certain subject-positions not only for the teacher and the student, but also for the people who are part of the sociocultural groups involved. Thesis that raises two analytical questions: (a) Principal question: from a discursive analytic, how these subjects and these pedagogical actions guided by Ethnomathematics operate in certain modes but not others?; (b) Secundary question: what knowledge (inclusive that knowledge identified as mathematics) are produced or mobilized on/by discourses and in/by power relations and how do they participate or contribute to working/constitution of these subjects? Thus, the analytical corpus of this research is composed by some of these works, which were selected from a broader set. As a theoretical-methodological resource, I turn to a discursive analytic, mainly in a Foucaultian perspective, which was constituted itself along various movements in this Thesis. As a conclusion, always partial and in construction, I was able to perceive certain statements that emerge from a discursiveness that mobilizes/crosses these pedagogical actions guided by Ethnomathematics and that, driven by both epistemological and subjective-positional purposes, this actions enable the existence of a conduction practice of the subject actions. This practice contributes, in its turn, to the constitution/production and working of certain subject-positions marked (or demarcate) within the discursive practices and power relations inherent in these pedagogical actions, producing also certain (pedagogical, curricular) knowledges to the ways in which knowledge identified as mathematicians should be mobilized. A presente pesquisa se ocupa com os movimentos e pausas em uma escola, em uma sala de aula, em uma pesquisa, em uma educação matemática. A questão que brota dessa ocupação diz respeito à aprendizagem em uma sala de aula de matemática. Para essa investigação, a aula é adotada como unidade de escrita. Matemática é tomada como acontecimento na sala de aula, que é entendida como um coletivo de forças e, assim, busca-se uma atenção à processualidade, ao fluxo. Nesse enredo, currículo canônico, matemática hegemônica, metodologias de ensino de matemática são problematizados. Uma frase racista pichada em uma escola pública traz para a pesquisa o muro. Este é trazido em três perspectivas: o muro tem uma espacialidade. Ele delimita o espaço pertencente à escola. O muro tem uma funcionalidade. Impede que entrem e que saiam. O muro tem uma possibilidade de ocupação. Ocupada com o muro, a pesquisa coloca o apagamento, a rachadura e a colagem como metodologias de escrita. Apagar um texto clássico da educação matemática com corretivo de fita é escrever com o texto original. Com máquina de escrever, escrever um novo texto por cima do apagamento. Rachar relatos de aulas de matemática puxando linhas no emaranhado de uma sala de aula e produzir colagem em textos oficiais. Aprendizagem deslizante, deslizando uma matemática na sala de aula. This study deals with movements and pauses in a school, in a classroom, in research, in mathematical education. The question that emerges from this occupation regards to learning in a mathematics classroom. For this investigation, the class is taken as a writing unit. Mathematics is taken as an event in the classroom, which is understood as a collective of forces and, thus, we seek to drive the attention to the procedures, to the flow. In this scenario, canon curriculum, hegemonic mathematics, methodologies for teaching mathematics are problematized. A racist sentence printed on a wall in a public school brings that wall into the study. It is looked upon from three perspectives: the wall has spatiality. It limits the space belonging to the school. The wall has functionality. It prevents people from coming in or out. The wall has a possibility for occupation. Occupied with the wall, the study takes erasing, cracking and collage as writing methodologies. Erasing a classic mathematical education text with correction tape is writing with the original text. With a typewriter, writing a new text over the erasing. Cracking mathematics classes reports pulling strings in the jumble of a classroom and producing collage in official texts. Sliding learning, sliding mathematics in the classroom.

A busca constante de entendimento sobre a contemporaneidade, assim como as transformações decorrentes das mudanças ao longo do tempo, é fundamental para que nossa ação seja coerente, crítica e reflexiva, o que pode contribuir para uma melhor qualidade no trabalho que realizamos, principalmente quando se trata de Educação. Nesse sentido, o presente estudo trata sobre a apropriação e a utilização de dispositivos digitais móveis em cursos na modalidade a distância e a viabilidade de desenvolvimento, implementação e utilização de ebooks interativos e multimídia para fins educativos. O tema da pesquisa está relacionado a apropriação e uso das tecnologias digitais de informação e comunicação na educação, voltado para o processo de desenvolvimento e possibilidades de utilização de recursos digitais na abordagem de conteúdos em cursos e-learning, além de procurar conhecer aspectos e questões que envolvem a apropriação e uso de dispositivos digitais móveis por estudantes, professores e tutores de cursos na modalidade a distância (EaD). Foram utilizados métodos essencialmente qualitativos na realização da pesquisa, com uma estratégia em três vertentes principais de investigação: revisão bibliográfica e documental; recolha e análise de dados sobre um caso no Brasil; desenvolvimento, aplicação e avaliação da usabilidade de três ebooks interativos e multimídia, sobre História da Matemática, em um curso no formato e-learning. No desenvolvimento desse estudo foi possível identificar práticas e tendências na educação relacionadas diretamente às mudanças que procuramos apresentar como proposta: a publicação eletrônica; a aprendizagem online; a aprendizagem híbrida e de modelos colaborativos; a aprendizagem móvel; e a gamificação. Verificamos que o conhecimento e a apropriação das tecnologias digitais são algumas das características e condições para aplicações efetivas que resultem nas mudanças esperadas, coerentes com o atual cenário sócio-técnico-cultural. No entanto, constatamos que na área da educação, além de propostas inadequadas e ambientes desfavoráveis, muitos profissionais ainda não estão familiarizados ou capacitados para a utilização de recursos e dispositivos tecnológicos digitais. The constant search for understanding about contemporaneity, as well as transformations resulting from changes over time, is fundamental for action to be coherent, critical and reflective, which can contribute to a better quality of work, especially when Education. In this sense, the present study deals with the appropriation and the use of mobile digital devices in courses in the distance modality and viability of development, implementation and use of interactive ebooks and multimedia for educational purposes. The research theme is related to the appropriation and use of digital information and communication technologies in education, focused on the development process and possibilities of using digital resources in the approach of content in e-learning courses, as well as seeking to know aspects and issues which involve the appropriation and use of mobile digital devices by students, teachers and tutors of distance learning (EAD) courses. Essentially qualitative methods were used in the research, with a strategy in three main research areas: bibliographical and documentary review; collection and analysis of data on a case in Brazil; development, application and evaluation of the usability of three interactive and multimedia ebooks on History of Mathematics in an e-learning course. In the development of this study was possible to identify practices and trends in education related to the changes we seek as proposal: electronic publication; online learning; hybrid learning and collaborative models; mobile learning; and a gamification. We verify that the know and applied in digital technologies are some of the characteristics and conditions for effective applications that result in the expected changes, consistent with the current socio-technical-cultural scenario. However, we find that in the area of education, in addition to inadequate proposals and unfavorable environments, many professionals are not yet familiar or qualified to use digital technology resources and devices.

Self-lubricant coatings have been developed by combining the intrinsic properties of some binary and ternary coating systems, that are resistant to oxidation, with some elements that diffuse to the surface as a metal and/or forming oxides and fluorides to get the lubricious properties. Magnéli oxide phases, which possess thermal stability and easy shear planes, have been proposed to achieve lubrication at elevated temperatures. Additions of V to dissimilar coating systems showed to successfully improve their tribological behaviour at high temperatures due to the formation of lubricious V2O5. However, such improvement do not last long due to the fast diffusion of V to the surface. Thus, the challenge now is the control of lubricious metal diffusion to the surface, a criterion required to achieve long term lubrication. The aim of this thesis is to study the effect of V addition on the structure, mechanical properties and tribological behaviour of Ti-Si-V-N films deposited by high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) in deep oscillation mode (DOMS). TiSiN system has been selected because of its high oxidation resistance and excellent mechanical properties. Further, if deposited in nanocomposite structure with a nanocrystalline TiN grain embedded by amorphous SiN phase, the later phase can act as a diffusion barrier and allow control out diffusion of V. DOMS was selected as deposition process as it has been reported to easily obtain and tailor the nanocomposite structure of TiSiN films. The crystal structure of films was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The microstructure of the films was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) while their mechanical properties were measured by nanoindentation and scratch tests. Further, the tribological behaviour of coatings was evaluated by reciprocating sliding equipment. The wear mechanism present on the wear track of coatings was investigated by SEM and the wear debris analysed by energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) and Raman spectroscopy. A total of twelve depositions of dissimilar TiSi(V)N coatings were deposited using HiPIMS process in DOMS mode with 7 and 12 at.% Si content. For each silicon content, three depositions with different vanadium content (0, 6, and 11 at.% V) were made. All the above depositions were done twice using low peak power (28 kW) and high peak power (68 kW for films with 7 at.% Si and 109 kW for films with 12 at.% Si). All films made at low peak powers showed a columnar microstructure and cauliflower surface morphology, while those deposited using high peak power had a compact microstructure and granular surface morphology. V addition and silicon content had little influence on the surface and cross morphology of the coatings. A shift of diffraction peaks to higher angles with V addition suggested the formation of substitutional solid solution in TiN phase. Coatings deposited at high peak power showed higher hardness and higher level of compressive residual stresses as compared to those deposited at low peak powers. Tribological tests indicated that V addition decreased the friction coefficient. In addition, TiSiVN films with 11 at.% V, irrespective of the peak power used and silicon content, showed excellent wear resistance Abrasion wear took place for the dissimilar TiSiN coatings deposited as reference, whereas polishing wear was observed for all V rich films. Revestimentos auto-lubrificantes têm sido desenvolvidos através da combinação das propriedades intrínsecas de alguns sistemas de revestimento binários ou ternários, que são resistentes à oxidação, com alguns elementos que se difundem para a superfície sob forma de metal e/ou formando óxidos e fluoretos para obter propriedades lubrificantes. O uso deste tipo de revestimentos, baseados na formação de óxidos com propriedades lubrificantes foram propostos para promover lubrificação a alta temperatura. A adição de vanádio mostrou melhorar as propriedades tribológicas de vários sistemas de revestimentos a alta temperatura devido à formação da fase lubrificante V2O5. Contudo, estas melhorias tribológicas mostraram ser de curta duração devido à rápida e total difusão de vanádio para a superfície. Portanto, o desafio para desenvolver revestimentos autolubrificantes que promovam lubrificação contínua durante um longo período de tempo, passa pelo controlo adequado da difusão do metal que promove propriedades lubrificantes, para a superfície. O objetivo desta tese é estudar o efeito da adição de V na estrutura, propriedades mecânicas e comportamento tribológico de revestimentos Ti-Si-V-N depositados por high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) em deep oscillation mode (DOMS), uma variante do HiPIMS em que os impulsos de potência são constituídos por conjuntos de oscilações. Revestimentos do tipo TiSiN foram seleccionados devido à sua excelente resistência à oxidação e propriedades mecânicas. Além disso, quando este sistema de revestimentos for depositado com uma estrutura nanocompósita, isto é, grãos nanocristalinos de TiN embebidos numa matriz amorfa de SiN, a última fase pode atuar como uma barreira de difusão e portanto permitir controlar a difusão de V. O processo de deposição DOMS foi seleccionado para produzir estes filmes, uma vez que foi demonstrado facilmente permitir obter e alterar a estrutura nanocompósita dos revestimentos TISiN. A estrutura cristalina dos revestimentos foi analisada com recurso ao equipamento de difracção de raios-x. A microestrutura foi caraterizada por microscópio de varrimento electrónica (SEM), enquanto que, as suas propriedades mecânicas foram avaliadas por nano-indentação e testes de indentação deslizante. Além disso, as propriedades tribológicas dos revestimentos foram avaliadas por ensaios de desgaste alternativos (reciprocating sliding). Os mecanismos de desgaste presentes nas pistas de desgaste foram identificados por observações SEM e os detritos resultantes do desgaste analisados por SEM e espectroscopia Raman. Um total de 12 revestimentos foram depositados por HiPIMS em modo DOMS contendo 7 e 12% atómico de Si. Para cada um dos teores de silício, 3 revestimentos com diferentes teores de vanádio (0, 6, and 11 at.% de V) foram produzidos. As deposições acima referidas foram realizadas 2 vezes, usando baixa potência de pico e alta potência de pico (68.17 kW para os revestimentos com 7 at.% de Si e 109.83 kW para os revestimentos com 12 at.% de Si). Todos os revestimentos depositados com baixa potência de pico mostraram possuir uma microestrutura colunar e uma morfologia superficial do tipo couve-flor, enquanto que aqueles depositados com elevada potência de pico mostraram uma microestrutura mais compacta e uma morfologia superficial do tipo granular. A adição de vanádio e silício aos revestimentos mostraram não alterar significativamente a microestrutura e morfologia superficial dos revestimentos. O desvio dos picos de difracção para a direita com o aumento do teor em V nos revestimentos, sugeriu a formação de solução sólida substitucional. Os revestimentos depositados com alta potência de pico mostraram possuir valores dureza e tensões residuais de compressa mais elevados do que os revestimentos depositados com baixa potência de pico. Os ensaios de desgaste mostraram que a adição de V diminui o coeficiente de atrito dos revestimentos; em alguns casos mais de metade. Além disso, independentemente da potência de pico usada nas deposições e do teor de Si nos revestimentos, aqueles depositados com 11 at.% de V mostraram ser os mais resistentes ao desgaste. Desgaste por Abrasão mostrou ser o mecanismo de desgaste predominante nos diferentes revestimentos de TiSiN depositados como referência, ao passo que, desgaste por polimento mostrou ser o mecanismo de desgaste ativo em todos os revestimentos ricos em V.
