In this study, saponins extracted from leaves and stem bark of Jatropha curcas L. were investigated for surface-active properties. Conductivity and surface tension measurements revealed the micellar character of J. curcas saponin, with the average CMC, determined to be 0.50 g/L and 0.75 g/L for leaf and stem bark saponin, respectively. Stem bark saponin reduced the surface tension of water to a greater extent ( γ C M C = 37.65 mN/m) compared to leaf saponin ( γ C M C = 49.27 mN/m) indicating its efficient surface activity and potential detergency. pH measurement confirmed the weakly acidic nature of saponin with a pH value lying slightly below the range suitable for hair and skin. Stem bark saponin showed better cleaning ability, foaming ability and foam stability than leaf saponin, due to a sufficient reduction in the surface tension of water. This manuscript reports a dataset for the scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM-EDX), surfactant properties, thermokinetics, and corrosion inhibition activity of [[Co(HL) 2 .2H 2 O] Cl 2 .H 2 O]] ( 1 ) and [[Zn(HL) 2 .Cl] Cl.3H 2 O]] ( 2 ) complexes with surfactant-based Schiff base ligand ( HL ). It contains analyzed data related to thermokinetics, such as the activation energy ( E* ), entropy change (∆ S* ), enthalpy change (∆ H* ), and free energy change (∆ G* ) of HL and metal complexes. It also contains the SEM micrographs and EDX images of the studied ligand and metal complexes. A detailed analysis of the critical micelle concentration (CMC) data and figures illustrating the surfactant behavior of the synthesized complexes are presented in this article. The data for the corrosion inhibition activity of all synthesized compounds are also included. The newly developed aminated maize stalk (AMS) was prepared by a chemical process using charred maize stalk (CMS). The AMS was used for the removal of nitrate and nitrite ions from aqueous media. The effects of initial anion concentration, contact time, and pH were studied by the batch method. The prepared adsorbent was characterized by FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM , and elemental analysis. The concentration of the nitrate and nitrite solution before and after was determined with the help of a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The maximum adsorption capacities were found to be 294.11 mg/g for nitrate and 232.55 mg/g for nitrite, respectively, at pH 5 for both ions attaining equilibrium within 60 min. The BET surface area of AMS was found to be 25.3 m 2 /g with a pore volume of 0.02cc/g. The pseudo-second-order kinetics model fit well, and the adsorption data supported the Langmuir isotherm. The findings revealed that AMS has a high capability for removing nitrate (NO 3 - ) and nitrite (NO 2 - ) ions from their aqueous solutions., (© 2023. The title compound, C 20 H 21 F 3 N 2 O 4 , features a main twelve-membered difuryl ring with which the furan rings make dihedral angles of 76.14 (5) and 33.81 (5)°. The dihedral angle between the furan rings is 42.55 (7)°. The six-membered nitro-gen heterocycle has a twist-boat conformation. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are connected by inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions, generating an R 2 2 (14) ring motif. These pairs of mol-ecules form zigzag chains along the a -axis direction by means of C-H⋯F inter-actions. Furthermore, C-H⋯π and C-F⋯π inter-actions link the mol-ecules into chains along the b- axis direction, forming sheets parallel to the (001) plane. An approach to removing crystal violet (CV) dye from aqueous solutions was investigated by introducing a xanthate group on charred rice husk. The newly prepared charred rice husk (CRH) and xanthated rice husk (XRH) were characterized by XRD, SEM, FTIR, and elemental analysis. A batch technique was used to adsorb CV dye in aqueous suspensions. Different adsorbent quantities, concentrations, pH, and contact times were investigated to find the effect of these parameters. The optimum pH for both CRH and XRH was found to be 10. The adsorption capacity of CV dye onto CRH and XRH was found to be 62.85 mg/g and 90.02 mg/g at pH10, respectively. Langmuir isotherms could be reasonably explained by the experimental data. Within 60 min, equilibrium was achieved. Similarly, the kinetic data are best suited to the pseudo-second-order model. The title compound, C 24 H 24 N 2 O 5 S, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules ( A and B ) in the asymmetric unit. In the central ring systems of both mol-ecules, the tetra-hydro-furan rings adopt envelope conformations, the pyrrolidine rings adopt a twisted-envelope conformation and the six-membered ring is in a boat conformation. In mol-ecules A and B , the nine-membered groups attached to the central ring system are essentially planar (r.m.s. deviations of 0.002 and 0.003 Å, respectively). They form dihedral angles of 64.97 (9) and 56.06 (10)°, respectively, with the phenyl rings. In the crystal, strong inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O contacts link the mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional network. In addition weak π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-to centroid distance = 3.7124 (13) Å] between the pyrrolidine rings of the nine-membered groups of A mol-ecules are observed. Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots were used to qu-antify the inter-molecular inter-actions present in the crystal, indicating that the environments of the two mol-ecules are very similar. The most important contributions for the crystal packing are from H⋯H (55.8% for mol-ecule A and 53.5% for mol-ecule B ), O⋯H/H⋯O (24.5% for mol-ecule A and 26.3% for mol-ecule B ) and C⋯H/H⋯C (12.6% for mol-ecule A and 15.7% for mol-ecule B ) inter-actions., (© Mertsalov et al. 2021.)

In the title compound, C 20 H 19 NO 5 , the central six-membered ring has a slightly distorted half-chair conformation, with puckering parameters of Q T = 0.3387 (11) Å, θ = 49.11 (19)° and φ = 167.3 (2)°. The conformation of the fused pyrrolidine ring is that of an envelope. Mol-ecules are connected by inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.9536 (11) Å, with a slippage of 2.047 Å], forming a three-dimensional network. The title compound, C 22 H 33 N 3 O 4 , crystallizes in the triclinic space group P with two mol-ecules in a unit cell. The two pyrrole rings are essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.002 Å) and they form a dihedral angle of 81.24 (10)° with each other. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π stacking inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network. In the title compound, C 13 H 9 Cl 2 N 3 O 2 , the 2,6-di-chloro-phenyl ring and the nitro-substituted benzene ring form a dihedral angle of 21.16 (14)°. In the crystal, face-to-face π-π stacking inter-actions occur along the a- axis direction between the centroids of the 2,6-di-chloro-phenyl ring and the nitro-substituted benzene ring. Furthermore, these mol-ecules show intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O contacts and are linked by inter-molecular N-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming pairs of hydrogen-bonded mol-ecular layers parallel to (20). The Hirshfeld surface analysis of the crystal structure indicates that the most important contributions to the crystal packing are from H⋯H (23.0%), O⋯H/H⋯O (20.1%), Cl⋯H/H⋯Cl (19.0%), C⋯C (11.2%) and H⋯C/C⋯H (8.0%) inter-actions., (© Çelikesir et al. 2020.)

In the title compound, C 16 H 14 Cl 2 FN 3 , the dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 64.12 (14)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by a short Cl⋯H contact, C-Cl⋯π and van der Waals inter-actions. The Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots show that H⋯H (33.3%), Cl⋯H/H⋯Cl (22.9%) and C⋯H/H⋯C (15.5%) inter-actions are the most important contributors towards the crystal packing., (© Özkaraca et al. 2020.)

The antagonistic as well as synergetic interaction for dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB) and sodiumdodecyl sulfate (SDS) mixed surfactants by using surface tension are investigated on the basis of the results obtained earlier, the efficiency of adsorption (p C 20 ), aggregation number ( N ), Γ Γ max , effective Gibbs free energy ( Δ G eff o ) and C M C C 20 are calculated additionally with three different temperatures at T = 293.15, 298.15 and 303.15 K as the detailed surface properties. The binding constants and standard free energy change of SDS and DTAB mixture with the interaction of (2.5× 10 -5 mol L -1 of methyl orange, MO and methylene blue, MB) are carried out by using UV-Vis spectroscopy at room temperature by using different models. The closer values of the binding constants and standard free energy change for SDS and DTAB mixture with the interaction of MO and MB are included in our investigations.
