Employees with sound educational backgrounds are crucial determinants of competition among the businesses. The importance of the employees in this field makes it necessary that students should be offered good education which should be supplemented with implementation from the field. In this implementation phase the internship takes an important place. In this study which deals with the expectations and post-internship experience of the vocational higher school students, the questionnaire technique was employed as the means of data collection. The findings of the study suggest that the opinions of the students who completed their internship and who have not completed their internship have been found out to be over 3 (positive) out of 5. This study draws a picture of the internship experience perceived by the statements and suggestions have been put forward.

In this study, the investigation of relationship between students’ choice of profession and mission and vision of their high school was aimed. The research sample consisted of 180 students attending ninth and twelve grades at three state high schools which to get students with choice examination in Erzurum. The data were obtained by semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted in the first semester of 2009-2010 education semester. The data are separated which are obtained from common and different answer and the evaluations are made according to this categories. The 50-60% of students of A high school said not to be their choice entering this school and the 9% of students are determined to prefer from themselves field. The 24% of student made the choice exclusive of their field as law, teaching. An important division of student of high school of teacher (70-80%) indicated to made the choice of themselves school, but the students determine who prefer the B high school is only factor which is inclined them They thought to utilize this environment of competition. The students of C high school are determined to make suitably the choice of occupation. However the students of B high school determined to tend majority exclusive of their field. Another conclusion is meanings to be imputed relating the concept of occupation. Although the students of B high school describe as business winning respectability at the rate of 44%, they see it as business making to provide a material earning at the rate of 30%. Although the students of A high school see as a business making to provide a material earning it at the rate of 60%, they describe as stopping on themselves foot at the rate of 24%. While the students of C high school see to provide a material earning at the rate of 50%, they see as a business winning respectability it.

Çağımızda kaliteli üretimi gerçekleştirebilecek, bilimsel ve teknolojik gelişmeye uyum sağlayabilecek, iş hayatının ihtiyaç duyduğu yüksek nitelikli tekniker ve meslek elemanlarını yetiştirecek eğitim sisteminin sahip olduğu girdilerin temel özelliklerinin bilinmesi gerekmektedir. Bu doğrultuda bu araştırmanın amacı, Yükseköğretim sisteminin önemli bir bileşeni olan meslek yüksekokullarında, nasıl bir öğrenci profilinin bulunduğunun belirlenmesidir. Bu araştırma, bir sosyoekonomik profil çalışması olarak yatay bir sosyal bilim çalışmasıdır. Araştırmada elde edilen veri tabanı ile, bir boyutu mikro ve yatay bir araştırmanın genel sonuçları ortaya konulmak, diğer bir boyutu ile bir çok dikey çalışmanın bir unsurunu oluşturabilecek verileri ortaya çıkartmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada verilerin oldukça sınırlı bir analizine yer verilerek genel bir profil sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre; ankete katılan öğrencilerin %49.31’inin genel lise mezunudur. %55.17’sinin ailesi şehir merkezinde ikamet etmekte, %85.17’sinin ailesi sosyal güvenceye sahip bulunmakta, %55.86’sı öğrenim bursu ya da kredi almakta, %23.10’u yarı zamanlı bir işte çalışmakta ve %6.92’si kendisine ait bir arabaya sahip bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırma sonuçları Ahi Evran Üniversitesi Kaman Meslek Yüksekokulu’nun çağdaş ve modern eğitim çalışmaları yapabilmesi için bir kaynak mahiyetindedir. Ayrıca Üniversite yöneticilerine hâli hazırdaki öğrencilerinin profilleri hakkında bir veri tabanı oluşturmaktadır., The fundamental characteristics of the inputs of the education system which would execute production, adapt to the scientific and technological innovations, and raise skilled and qualified individuals who are required for business life should be known. Therefore, the aim of this study is to reveal the profiles of students at vocational high schools which is one of the main components of higher education system. This study is a socio-economic profile study which is a horizontal social sciences research. The purpose of the data collected in the research is two fold. While first is to introduce the results of the micro and study, the second is to reveal the data that may be an issue for many vertical studies. Accommodating the very limited analysis of the data, the very general profile is presented. To the research; 49.31% of the students graduated from college. The percentage of the students whose family live in downtown is 55.17%, 55,17 % of the students’ family live in city, whose family have social security is 85.17%, who has scholarship is 55.86%, who have part-time job is 23.10%, and who have his/her own car is 6.92%. This study is a resource for implementing contemporary and modern education at Ahi Evran University Kaman Vocational High School. In addition, this study is a database of the students for the administrators of the high school
