Amplification of chromosomal region 8p11-12 is a common genetic alteration that has been implicated in the aetiology of lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC).sup.1-3. The FGFR1 gene is the main candidate driver of tumorigenesis within this region.sup.4. However, clinical trials evaluating FGFR1 inhibition as a targeted therapy have been unsuccessful.sup.5. Here we identify the histone H3 lysine 36 (H3K36) methyltransferase NSD3, the gene for which is located in the 8p11-12 amplicon, as a key regulator of LUSC tumorigenesis. In contrast to other 8p11-12 candidate LUSC drivers, increased expression of NSD3 correlated strongly with its gene amplification. Ablation of NSD3, but not of FGFR1, attenuated tumour growth and extended survival in a mouse model of LUSC. We identify an LUSC-associated variant NSD3(T1232A) that shows increased catalytic activity for dimethylation of H3K36 (H3K36me2) in vitro and in vivo. Structural dynamic analyses revealed that the T1232A substitution elicited localized mobility changes throughout the catalytic domain of NSD3 to relieve auto-inhibition and to increase accessibility of the H3 substrate. Expression of NSD3(T1232A) in vivo accelerated tumorigenesis and decreased overall survival in mouse models of LUSC. Pathological generation of H3K36me2 by NSD3(T1232A) reprograms the chromatin landscape to promote oncogenic gene expression signatures. Furthermore, NSD3, in a manner dependent on its catalytic activity, promoted transformation in human tracheobronchial cells and growth of xenografted human LUSC cell lines with amplification of 8p11-12. Depletion of NSD3 in patient-derived xenografts from primary LUSCs containing NSD3 amplification or the NSD3(T1232A)-encoding variant attenuated neoplastic growth in mice. Finally, NSD3-regulated LUSC-derived xenografts were hypersensitive to bromodomain inhibition. Thus, our work identifies NSD3 as a principal 8p11-12 amplicon-associated oncogenic driver in LUSC, and suggests that NSD3-dependency renders LUSC therapeutically vulnerable to bromodomain inhibition. The histone H3K36 methyltransferase NSD3, which is associated with the common 8p11-12 chromosomal amplification, is an oncogenic driver in lung squamous cell carcinoma., Author(s): Gang Yuan [sup.1] , Natasha M. The objectives of our article are: to show the essence of communicative learning techniques, according to which the learning process is a model of communication process; to achieve communicative activity of pupils by the way of providing some laws; to describe the definition of the term «communicative competence»; to describe four components that make up the communicative competence (grammatical competence, sociolinguistic competence, the competence of the statement, the competence of a speech strategy); to show the methods of studying foreign languages according to the Communicative Approach in Contemporary English Language Methodology; to describe some important auto-suggestive methods of teaching English which are Phonetic teaching strategies and auto-suggestive phonological ways of teaching English senior pupils. The following theoretical methods of the research were used to solve the tasks formulated in the article: a categorical method, structural and functional methods, the methods of the analysis, systematization, modeling, generalization. The results of the research. In the senior classes there is an actualization (accentuation) of pupils’ knowledge in determining their choice of their own educational path. A reflexive component of schoolchildren’s facilitative interaction is of great importance. In this case, the principle of dialogic reflection, based on the analysis of things, objects or phenomena from different points of view, sometimes is opposite and completely incompatible, becomes especially important. This principle is considered by us as a principle of additionality, and therefore strengthening (intensification) of auto-suggestive interaction of pupils at school should be based not on antagonism of internal and external dialogues, but on their combination, which emphasizes the importance of modeling dialogue, dialogic interaction, dialogic influence and dialogic culture. Conclusions. Thus, we’d like to analyze the psychoanalytic and cultural-historical determinants of the organization of the educational process in secondary education through auto-suggestive interaction. We believe that auto-suggestive interaction is based on the principles of unconscious content, when the frames or scripts that are updated, are not actually realized by the individual. According to this, all the experience is concentrated in the collective unconscious items. This experience is accumulated by mankind throughout the history of its existence, and this experience can not be leveled, but it can only be pushed into the realm of the unconscious. It is in the unconscious content of ancient peoples – the myths – you can see a large number of plots that give the Child a special purpose: he/she plays the role of the Messiah, for him/her there are subjects with the most secret knowledge. Thus, it becomes largely understandable such amazing knowledge that the child in a young age and does not try to master. Thus, we’ve to note that children’s speech is characterized by a large degree of egocentrism, when the child does not care about the partners of communication, that is does not try to be understood by others and only speaks for himself/ herself – his/her speech is purely monologue. In addition, the child’s speech is not fully socialized, self-directed, and it is based not only on the syncretism of reasoning, which is closely related to the syncretism of understanding. The child, given some clear words of the partner of communication, creates some image of the topic, sometimes it is wrong, because the words are not always logically related, and on the basis of this holistic scheme for himself/herself masters new material, trying to explain it by analogy with certain, well-known things. As a result, the child, becoming an adult, increasingly becomes involved into the public life, his/her speech becomes universal that is it loses its internal orientation, moving to a form of purely external speech.

This comparative research is aimed to study the effect of perindopril and metformin on the levels of biochemical markers of endothelial dysfunction in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicated by a brain hemorrhage. The study was carried out on 30 white male Wistar rats. T2DM was simulated by a single intraperitoneal injection of nicotinamide and streptozotocin (NA/STZ). Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) was induced by microinjection of 1 μL of bacterial collagenase 0.2 IU/μL into the striatum on the 60th day of the experiment. Animals were randomized into 5 groups: A – negative control (intact, n=6); B – positive control 1 (NA/STZ, n=6); C – positive control 2 (NA/STZ+ICH, n=6); D – perindopril (“Prestarium”, 2 mg/kg+NA/STZ+ICH, n=6); E – metformin (“Siofor”, 250 mg/kg+NA/STZ+ICH, n=6). The studied drugs were administered intragastrically for 20 days, starting from the 50th day after the induction of T2DM. Endothelial function was assessed by the content of homocysteine (Hcy), advanced glycation end products (AGEs), endothelin-1 (ET-1), and von Willebrand factor (vWF) in blood serum. It was found that long-term separate T2DM is accompanied by hyperhomocysteinemia, as well as an increase in AGEs, ET-1, and vWF levels, indicating dysregulation of the hemostasis system and vascular tone. It should be noted that brain hemorrhage in T2DM can enhance these manifestations, although the obtained differences were characterized only by a persistent trend. At the same time, the effect of perindopril was limited only by a significant decrease in AGEs levels by 31.2% (p

Black phosphorus (b-P) single crystals having the n-type electrical conductivity produced in a high pressure set-up (~1 GPa) with six diamond anvils at 800 °C for 12 h have been studied. The electrical conductivity σ(Т,В) and the Hall constant Rh(Т,В) have been analyzed within one-band and two-band models as functions of temperature in the 2 < Т < 300 K range and magnetic field in the 0 < В < 8 T range. Fitting of the experimental σ(Т,В) and Rh(Т,В) curves suggests the following key properties of the crystals: (1) intrinsic conductivity type, (2) approximately equal electron and hole concentrations and mobilities, (3) anisotropic behavior of electron and hole conductivities, concentrations and mobilities and (4) combination of negative and positive contributions to magnetoresistance (magnetoresistive effect, MR). In a zero magnetic field the anisotropy coefficient α = [σа (Т) – σс (Т)]/σс (Т) below 50–70 K is positive whereas above 220 K its sign changes to negative due to a specific combination of the temperature dependences of carrier concentration and mobility. It has been shown that the negative sign of relative MR (negative magnetoresistive effect) dominates at T < 25 K and B < 6 T and is presumably caused by the effects of strong localization resulting from structural disorder. The positive MR sign (positive magnetoresistive effect) is associated with the Lorentz mechanism of carrier movement and exhibits itself above 25 K in 6–8 T magnetic fields.

Results of a study of an actual scientific and technical problem of determining the road safety level on road sections are presented in the paper. The aim of the study is to develop an express method for assessing road safety based on improving the method of the final accident rate by reducing the partial accident rate with the required accuracy of determining the safety level on public roads. The formalization of the relationship between the parameters of road traffic conditions has been carried out to study the level of safety on highways. Latent factors of the parameters of traffic conditions have been obtained on the basis of reduction of their aggregate by the method of principal components, taking into account the relationship of partial accident rates. This condition has allowed to develop analytical models for determining road safety for implementation in the practice of conducting a road safety audit. A method for identifying hazardous areas on highways has been proposed in the paper. It includes 11 parameters of road conditions out of 18 partial accident rates proposed in the prototype and regulatory documents of Ukraine. The adequacy of the model is determined by deviation values of the obtained data according to the prototype model from the values of the relative accident rate, which were 3.22 and 18.61, respectively. The proposed model reduces the deviation value by six times and affects the accuracy of determining the safety level. Experimental studies have been conducted on 79 km of highways (on 385 sectors with constant values of traffic conditions parameters). The results of a comparative analysis of the safety level for the prototype model and the developed model have been identical and shown a decrease in time and labor costs by 1.6 times without loss of accuracy. Thus, the developed methodology is recommended to be applied for determining the potential danger of road sections during an express analysis of the road safety or when conducting a safety audit at various stages of the road life cycle.

Clinical evidence suggests that type 2 diabetes mellitus can increase the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage and provocation of neurodegeneration. This study was aimed at evaluating biomarkers of glycemic control, lipid profile, oxidative modification of proteins, as well as the functional state of endothelium in Wistar rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated by intracerebral hemorrhage. Experimental type 2 diabetes mellitus was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (65 mg/kg) and nicotinamide (230 mg/kg). The intracerebral hemorrhage was induced by microinjection of sterile saline containing 0.2 IU bacterial collagenase into the striatum. Assessed biomarkers included the area under glycemic curve, glycated hemoglobin, total cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein, advanced glycation end products, markers of oxidative modification of proteins – aldehyde- and ketonephenylhydrazones, and markers of endothelial dysfunction – homocysteine, endothelin-1, von Willebrand factor and asymmetric dimethylarginine in blood serum. Both rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus and rats with intracerebral hemorrhage and diabetes had a significant elevated glycemic control as compared to intact animals. But combined pathology was additionally characterized by an impairment of lipid profile (increased triglyceride level and decreased as total cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein) resulting in a rise in the atherogenic index of plasma. A significant increase in the content of the markers of oxidative modification of proteins was observed in both experimental groups. But the rats with intracerebral hemorrhage and diabetes only had higher levels of advanced glycation end products in comparison with intact animals. The highest levels of endothelin-1, as a biomarker of endothelial dysfunction, were observed in animals with intracerebral hemorrhage and diabetes. Homocysteine and von Willebrand factor were elevated in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus, while acute intracerebral hemorrhage did not potentiate the further growth in its levels. Such effect was not accompanied by a marked increase of asymmetric dimethylarginine level in blood serum, although there was a clear trend. In conclusion, the development of intracerebral hemorrhage in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus can intensify the manifestations of oxidative stress, worsen lipid profile, and aggravate endothelial dysfunction. In this case, the pathological process may have the character of a “vicious circle”.

The article provides theoretical justification and describes the development, psychometric verification and approbation of the Learning Interest Index inventory for assessing learning motivation in adolescents of different age groups. The theoretical basis was a resource approach aimed at identifying those motivational-value and personality components that make a significant positive contribution to both the process and the result of learning activities of adolescents. The sample for psychometric verification of the test consisted of 572 adolescents (44.5% boys, 55.5% girls) studying in 7—11 grades of several medium-ranked schools of Moscow and the Moscow region. To identify the structure of learning interest, exploratory factor analysis was applied separately for the sub-samples of middle (grades 7—9) and older (grades 10—11) adolescents. The model of the Learning Interest Index includes both simple, unambiguous, and complex, combined factors. For a sample of middle-aged adolescents, a seven-factor model of the Learning Interest Index was obtained. The structure of the learning interest of older adolescents includes nine factors. Psychometric verification showed that all scales of the questionnaire have acceptable reliability, as well as construct and empirical validity.

The special class of atomic functions is considered. The atomic function is a solution with compact support of linear differential functional equation with constant coefficients and linear transformations of the argument. The functions considered are used in discrete atomic compression (DAC) of digital images. The algorithm DAC is lossy and provides better compression than JPEG, which is de facto a standard for compression of digital photos, with the same quality of the result. Application of high precision values of atomic functions can improve the efficiency of DAC, as well as provide the development of new technologies for data processing and analysis. This paper aims to develop a low complexity algorithm for computing precise values of the atomic functions considered. Precise values of atomic functions at the point of dense grids are the subject matter of this paper. Formulas of V. O. Rvachev and their generalizations are used. Direct application of them to the computation of atomic functions on dense grids leads to multiple calculations of a great number of similar expressions that should be reduced. In this research, the reduction required is provided. The goal is to develop an algorithm based on V. O. Rvachev’s formulas and their generalizations. The following tasks are solved: to convert these formulas to reduce the number of arithmetic operations and to develop a verification procedure that can be used to check results. In the current research, methods of atomic function theory and dynamic programming algorithms development principles are applied. A numerical scheme for computation of atomic functions at the points of the grid with the step, which is less than each predetermined positive real number, is obtained and a dynamic algorithm based on it is developed. Also, a verification procedure, which is based on the properties of atomic functions, is introduced. The following results are obtained: 1) the algorithm developed provides faster computation than direct application of the corresponding formulas; 2) the algorithm proposed provides precise computation of atomic functions values; 3) procedure of verification has linear complexity in the number of values to be checked. Moreover, the algorithms proposed are implemented using Python programming language and a set of tables of atomic functions values are obtained. Conclusions: results of this research are expected to improve existing data processing technologies based on atomic functions, especially the algorithm DAC, and accelerate the development of new ones.

The article is aimed at a theoretical generalization of forms, methods and instrumentarium for choosing perspective directions for small business development in Ukraine. At present, there are a significant number of scientific achievements on the formation of a balanced government policy on the State regulation of small business development in Ukraine. The legal principles of the State regulation of activities of business entities that aim to make a profit are determined by the Law of Ukraine «On the Associations of Economic Management». Generalization of the theoretical developments of domestic and foreign scholars on the choice of methods for determining the current state and prospects for the development of small business representatives allowed to distinguish the most common approaches to solving this issue. Most specialists are inclined to define the need for a comprehensive assessment of the state of small business entities both in the whole country and in its administrative territories. The most common techniques include: analysis of statistical indicators of the state of small business and their dynamics for a certain period; comparative analysis of the state of small business development by types of economic activity both in the inland territories and in the countries of the world; compiling a SWOT analysis with the definition of strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats to small businesses; computing the integral indicator of the level using the taxonomic analysis and the method of ranking of research objects; classification of levels of development of small business representatives based on the results of cluster analysis. The disadvantages of these approaches are that their computing does not take into account the significance of certain indicators of integrated evaluation, that is, these methods are incapable of giving clear answers to the question of finding perspective directions for the development of the small business sector. Also, the above methods do not reflect the territorial specifics of the development of certain types of economic activity, taking into account the representatives of small business and their role and place in a particular industry in a timely context over the years. All of the above has created the basis for searching a new instrumentarium to choose perspective directions for small business development in Ukraine.

A topical problem and a sought-after task is the assessment of value of the enterprise’s business and a value-oriented management of this business, which is of particular importance for diagnosing the financial condition of unprofitable enterprises, in particular debtor enterprises, at the stage of their financial sanitation and restoration of solvency. The relevance of application for unprofitable corporate enterprises of a common methodology for assessing the value of business with the help of a system of market multipliers is analyzed, which is then classified into groups, including the following: 1) earnings multipliers: «share price/earnings per share» (P/E), «price/sales – P/S», «value of business/sales» (EV/S), «value of business/profit from operating activities» (EV/Sales margin, valuates the enterprise according to the profitability of its core operations), and EV/EBITDA (estimation of the company’s total profit by all types of activities); 2) balance financial indicators: «value of business/balance value of assets» (EV/BV), «shares price/balance value of share capital» or «share price/balance value of net assets» (P/BV or P/BVE), «value of business/cost of buildings, machines and equipment on the balance sheet», or «value of business/value of non-current assets» (enterprise value/property, plant and equipment – EV/PP&E); «share price/net asset substitution value» (multiplier Q, or Tobin’s Q), «share price/net asset value», or P/NAV); 3) natural multipliers: price/volume of production, price/winning, etc. It is determined that each group of financial multipliers has advantages and disadvantages of its relevance to informativeness, and this must be taken into account when choosing multipliers for value assessment. The correctness of the choice of multipliers depends on the task of assessing the value of the share capital or the value of the business of enterprise in general. It is argued that the assessment of any enterprise or group of enterprises is a separate specific case that requires taking into account the key features of the enterprise activities. Taking into account such features, the correct choice of the multiplier and its modification is the key to obtaining a relevant assessment of the value of the enterprise. It is recommended to use a system from several multipliers for a relevant valuation of the enterprise, as well as apply several approaches to such a valuation. In case of valuation of the enterprise that is in the process of bankruptcy or systematically receives losses, the use of EV/S and EV/BV multipliers appears the most correct. To test the carried out theoretical-methodological analysis of the application of the market multipliers to valuate unprofitable enterprises, their application to valuate five unprofitable Ukrainian mines is presented, which serves as a verification of the recommendations developed in the work.

The rapid growth of demand for poultry products requires its sufficient production by specialized farms of various forms of ownership. However, such production needs are not always adequate to the selection approach, the incubation component, the basic requirements of veterinary and sanitary and zoohygienic support, breed and age characteristics of keeping and raising poultry. Therefore, one of the crucial components of obtaining biologically complete, high-quality and fast-paying products of the poultry industry, including all stages of its production, is human support of the main links of ontogenesis (development after birth) of the bird. The issue of not only the creation of the genetic potential of the parent bird of different species and areas of productivity, but also the provision of veterinary and sanitary conditions for their maintenance, breeding and breeding remains relevant. However, the current economic conditions have forced the heads of enterprises and veterinary departments to some extent bypass the planned laboratory tests of feed, water and blood, which, although not complete, but informative enough to trace the main periods of growth and development of the bird. Slight deterioration of the mode and quality of feeding, changes in the parameters of the microclimate are reflected in changes in blood parameters. And what about the spoilage of feed, water, violation of veterinary and sanitary maintenance of poultry: the lack of preventive treatments with vitamin-mineral, hepatoprotective and enzyme preparations, pre- and probiotics. Which can lead to metabolic disorders in poultry. Which can occur due to disorders of protein, lipid, carbohydrate, vitamin, macro- and micromineral metabolism. As a result, there are significantly popular diseases such as: uric acid diathesis, cannibalism, osteoporosis and osteomalacia, perosis, rickets, obesity, E-hypovitaminosis. Further reducing productivity, which leads to large economic losses on farms.

Relevance. Evaluation of nutritional value of seeds of agricultural crops is considered to be highly significant for revealing new sources of antioxidants for humans.Material. The aim of the present investigation was antioxidant status and selenium accumulation levels by chicory seeds (13 cultivars) and comparison of the results with antioxidants status of seeds of other root vegetables: celery (5 cultivars), parsley (2 cultivars), parsnip (3 cultivars) and carrot (7 cultivars).Results. Among agricultural crops studied chicory was characterized by 3-4 higher levels of selenium accumulation by seeds and relatively low total antioxidant activity and polyphenol content. Anomalously high protein content in chicory seeds may explain the efficiency of selenium accumulation while relatively low antioxidant activity may be connected with lower levels of essential oil. Direct correlations between polyphenol content and total antioxidant activity were demonstrated for carrot (r=+0.924; P

In infectious pathology in infants, staphylococcal infection occupies a leading place, is characterized by the rapid development of intoxication, a purulent-destructive process with the possibility of generalization of infection, affecting the course and outcome of the disease. The aim of the study was to study the results of treatment of primary staphylococcal enterocolitis, in infants, with the use of antibacterial drugs and their combination with bacteriophages.Research methods. The frequency of elimination of staphylococcus, the duration of the main symptoms (fever, diarrhea, toxicosis with exicosis) as a result of treatment of primary staphylococcal enterocolitis (confirmed by laboratory) were analyzed in children aged from 1 to 12 months who received inpatient antibacterial drugs (nifuroxazide, azithromycin) or their combination with bacteriophages (staphylococcal, pyobacteriophage). The data accounting period is from January 2017 to December 2020.The results of the study. The results of treatment of staphylococcal enterocolitis were studied in 4 groups: monotherapy with nifuroxazide (n = 39) or azithromycin (n = 40), a combination of nifroxazide+staphylococcal bacteriophage (n = 41) or azithromycin + piobacteriphage (n = 38). The groups were comparable by gender, age, and clinical manifestations of the disease. Elimination of staphylococcus on the 10th—12th day. treatment with monotherapy with antibacterial drugs was achieved in 31—35%, with their combination with bacteriophages — in 51—64% of patients in each combination (df = 3, p < 0.05). Against the background of combined therapy, the symptoms of the disease (diarrhea, vomiting) were stopped 1.2 times faster; the number of patients with lactase deficiency and intestinal dysbiosis decreased by 1.7—2 times, with monotherapy with antibacterial drugs-by 1.3—1.4 times (df = 3, p < 0.05).Conclusion. Treatment of primary staphylococcal enterocolitis in children, including antibacterial drugs and bacteriophages, is more effective than monotherapy with antibacterial drugs.

Astrophysics - Earth and Planetary Astrophysics ,Physics - Chemical Physics ,J.2 - Abstract
We present a theoretical analysis of formation and kinetics of hot OH molecules in the upper atmosphere of Mars produced in reactions of thermal molecular hydrogen and energetic oxygen atoms. Two major sources of energetic O considered are the photochemical production, via dissociative recombination of O$_{2}^{+}$ ions, and energizing collisions with fast atoms produced by the precipitating Solar Wind (SW) ions, mostly H$^+$ and He$^{2+}$, and energetic neutral atoms (ENAs) originating in the charge-exchange collisions between the SW ions and atmospheric gases. Energizing collisions of O with atmospheric secondary hot atoms, induced by precipitating SW ions and ENAs, are also included in our consideration. The non-thermal reaction O + H$_2(v,j) \rightarrow$ H + OH$(v',j')$ is described using recent quantum-mechanical state-to-state cross sections, which allow us to predict non-equilibrium distributions of excited rotational and vibrational states $(v',j')$ of OH and expected emission spectra. A fraction of produced translationally hot OH is sufficiently energetic to overcome Mars' gravitational potential and escape into space, contributing to the hot corona. We estimate the total escape flux from dayside of Mars for low solar activity conditions at about $5\times10^{22}$ s$^{-1}$, or about 0.1\% of the total escape rate of atomic O and H. The described non-thermal OH production mechanism is general and expected to contribute to the evolution of atmospheres of the planets, satellites, and exoplanets with similar atmospheric compositions., Comment: 18 pages, 6 figures; submitted to Icarus; comments & suggestions welcome

Stroke, especially hemorrhagic form, is one of the most serious comorbidity disease of diabetes mellitus, often associated with high mortality, particularly in type 2 DM (T2DM). Therefore, it is relevant the search for drugs with a metabolically justified protective effect. Edaravone (Eda) is widely used for treating ischemic stroke but its biochemical effects in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) associated with T2DM is not still confirmed. The aim of the study was to assess the impact of Eda on the markers of oxidative modification of proteins (OMP), such as advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP), neutral and basic carbonyls (PC370 and PC430), advanced glycation end products (AGE) and ischemia modified albumin (IMA) as well as on the activity of matrix metalloproteinases MMP2/MMP9 (gelatinases) in rats with experimental T2DM after collagenase-induced ICH. Metformin was used as a comparative drug. The data obtained indicate that ICH in diabetic rats is accompanied by an increase in AOPP, PC370, AGE, and mature forms of both gelatinases. On the contrary, IMA and proMMP9 were below normal level after ICH. Both studied drugs decreased the OMP markers to the levels of intact rats or lower, and Eda show a more potent effect. Besides, Eda significantly decreased the activity of MMP9 and changed progelatinases activity. We conclude that Eda has a perspective to be useful in the treatment of comorbid brain hemorrhage in T2DM due to inhibiting of oxidative stress and modulation of gelatinases activity.

Astrophysics - Astrophysics of Galaxies - Abstract
We present a study of complexes of young massive star clusters (YMCs), embedded in extragalactic giant HII regions, based on the coupling of spectroscopic with photometric and spectrophotometric observations of about 100 star forming regions in seven spiral galaxies (NGC 628, NGC 783, NGC 2336, NGC 6217, NGC 6946, NGC 7331, and NGC 7678). The complete observational database has been observed and accumulated within the framework of our comprehensive study of extragalactic star forming regions. The current paper presents the last part of either unpublished or refreshed photometric and spectrophotometric observations of the galaxies NGC 6217, NGC 6946, NGC 7331, and NGC 7678. We derive extinctions, chemical abundances, continuum and line emissions of ionised gas, ages and masses for cluster complexes. We find the young massive cluster complexes to have ages no greater than 10 Myr and masses between 10^4Msol and 10^7Msol, and the extinctions A(V) vary between ~ 0 and 3 mag, while the impact of the nebular emission on integrated broadband photometry mainly is not greater than 40% of the total flux and is comparable with accuracies of dereddened photometric quantities. We also find evidence of differential extinction of stellar and gas emissions in some clusters, which hinders the photometric determination of ages and masses in these cases. Finally, we show that young massive cluster complexes in the studied galaxies and open clusters in the Milky Way form a continuous sequence of luminosities/masses and colour/ages., Comment: 23 pages, 22 figures, 5 tables (high resolution jpeg Figure 15 is available in the source format). We present our results on the Chandra X-ray Observatory Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer (ACIS) observations of the bright Oort Cloud comets C/2012 S1 (ISON) and C/2011 L4 (PanSTARRS). ISON was observed between 2013 October 31-November 06 during variable speed solar wind (SW), and PanSTARRS was observed between 2013 April 17-23 during fast SW. ISON produced an extended parabolic X-ray morphology consistent with a collisionally thick coma, while PanSTARRS demonstrated only a diffuse X-ray-emitting region. We consider these emissions to be from charge exchange (CX) and model each comet's emission spectrum from first principles accordingly. Our model agrees with the observational spectra and also generates composition ratios for heavy, highly charged SW ions interacting with the cometary atmosphere. We compare our derived SW ion compositions to observational data and find a strong agreement between them. These results further demonstrate the utility of CX emissions as a remote diagnostics tool of both astrophysical plasma interaction and SW composition. In addition, we observe potential soft X-ray emissions via ACIS around 0.2 keV from both comets that are correlated in intensity to the hard X-ray emissions between 0.4-1.0 keV. We fit our CX model to these emissions, but our lack of a unique solution at low energies makes it impossible to conclude if they are cometary CX in origin. We lastly discuss probable emission mechanism sources for the soft X-rays and explore new opportunities these findings present in understanding cometary emission processes via Chandra., Comment: Accepted to ApJ, 10 pages, 7 figures
