351. Experiment of Modified Red Clay by Graphite Nanoparticles.

In order to study the improvement effect of graphite nanoparticles on Guilin red clay, the material composition, mechanical properties and microstructure of the improved soil were analyzed through laboratory tests. The results indicate that graphite nanoparticles increase the mass fraction of kaolinite in modified red clay, while decrease the mass fraction of quartz. The mass fraction of most oxides increases. With the increase of vertical pressure, the shear strength of the remolded red clay gradually increases. Graphite nanoparticles improve the shear strength, cohesion and internal friction angle, and the shear strength increases by 3.4% ~ 16.6%. The surface of modified red clay is laminated with the concave-convex degree decreasing. Graphite nanoparticles powder binds independent and adjacent soil particles, which decreases the internal pores and stabilizes the structural framework. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
