Lithium-ion batteries revolutionize portable electronics and enable vehicle electrification. However, the excessive binders and additives are often involved in their fabrications with delicate yet complicated assembly procedures. This work reports a universal layer-by-layer assembly method to prepare the integrated electrodes by continuous carbon nanotube socks and active materials. Carbon nanotubes are not only the excellent conductive networks and the current collector but also the effective binder materials to efficiently net the active materials. The pouch cell assembled by the integrated hybrid electrodes shows a high specific capacity (141 mA h g−1 on the Li4Ti5O12 cathode), remarkable rate capability (135.2 mA h g−1 at 10 C), adequate safety, and flexibility. This work provides a facile approach for fabricating integrated electrodes, which holds great potential in advancing future design and assembly of hybrid materials for energy storage technologies.

Color-tunable phosphors can be obtained through codoping strategies and energy transfer regulation. Ce3+ and Eu2+ are the most common and effective activator ions used in phosphor materials. However, the energy transfer from Eu2+ to Ce3+ is rarely reported. In this work, Y2Mg2Al2Si2O12(YMAS):Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors were successfully synthesized, which was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Rietveld refinement, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and element mapping images, and spectral information. The luminescent color of YMAS:Eu2+,Ce3+ phosphors could be tuned from blue to cyan to light green to yellow-green and finally to green-yellow, which was achieved by adjusting the energy transfer between different dopants. The energy transfer from Eu2+ to Ce3+ was confirmed by photoluminescence spectra and fluorescence decay curves. Within the experimental gradient, the energy transfer efficiency could reach up to 48%. At 373 K, the Y1.99Mg1.99Al2Si2O12:0.01Eu2+,0.01Ce3+ (YMAS:0.01Eu2+,0.01Ce3+) phosphor exhibited a total integral emission loss of only 8%, and the emission peak intensity decreased to 95%, indicating the excellent thermal stability. The white light-emitting diode (WLED) fabricated by the YMAS:0.01Eu2+,0.01Ce3+ phosphor has the same level correlated color temperature (CCT = 5841 K), greatly improved color rendering index (Ra = 87.8), and higher quality white light color (CIE = (0.3258, 0.3214)) than the WLED made by the YMAS:0.01Eu2+ phosphor, indicating that the performance of the phosphor was significantly improved by introducing Ce3+. This work provides an effective guide for the design and development of highly efficient color-tunable phosphors involving energy transfer from Eu2+ to Ce3+ in some specific materials, such as garnet structures.

Growth arrest‐specific 5 (GAS5) is a kind of long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs). Previous studies showed that down‐regulation of LncRNA‐GAS5 was involved in the development of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, the regulatory mechanism of down‐expressed LncRNA‐GAS5 in SLE remains obscure. In this study, we aimed to investigate the association of LncRNA‐GAS5 polymorphism with SLE risk. And further explore how LncRNA‐GAS5 is involved in the occurrence of SLE. Here, we evaluated the relationship between the risk for the development of SLE and the 5‐base pair (AGGCA/‐) insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism (rs145204276) in the LncRNA‐GAS5 promoter region. A custom 36‐Plex SNPscan kit was used for genotyping the LncRNA‐GAS5 polymorphisms. The LncRNA‐GAS5 and miR‐21 target prediction was performed using bioinformatics software. Enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and quantitative real‐time PCR (qRT‐PCR) were performed to assess GAS5 and miR‐21 mRNA expression and PTEN protein expression. The results revealed that rs145204276 resulted in a decreased risk of SLE (DD genotypes vs II genotypes: adjusted OR = 0.538, 95% CI, 0.30‐0.97, P = .039; ID genotypes vs II genotypes: adjusted OR = 0.641, 95% CI, 0.46‐0.89, P = .007; ID/DD genotypes vs II genotypes: adjusted OR = 0.621, 95% CI, 0.46‐0.84, P = .002; D alleles vs I alleles: adjusted OR = 0.680, 95% CI, 0.53‐0.87, P = .002). A reduced incidence of renal disorders in SLE was found to be related to ID/DD genotypes and D alleles (ID/DD genotypes vs II genotypes: OR = 0.57, 95% CI, 0.36‐0.92, P = .020; D alleles vs I alleles: OR = 0.63, 95% CI, 0.43‐0.93, P = .019). However, no significant association of rs2235095, rs6790, rs2067079 and rs1951625 polymorphisms with SLE risk was observed (P > .05). Additionally, haplotype analysis showed that a decreased SLE risk resulted from the A‐A‐C‐G‐D haplotype (OR = 0.67, 95% CI, 0.49‐0.91, P = .010). Also, patients in the SLE group showed a down‐regulated expression of LncRNA‐GAS5 and PTEN than the healthy volunteers; however, patients with rs145204276 ID/DD genotypes showed up‐regulated expression of LncRNA‐GAS5 and PTEN compared with patients carrying the II genotype. Furthermore, the miR‐21 levels were considerably up‐regulated in the SLE group than the healthy volunteers, and patients with rs145204276 ID/DD genotype had lower miR‐21 levels than the ones with the II genotype. Thus, we found that the LncRNA‐GAS5/miR‐21/PTEN signalling pathway was involved in the development of SLE, where LncRNA‐GAS5 acted as an miR‐21 target, and miR‐21 regulated the expression of PTEN. These findings indicated that the rs145204276 ID/DD genotypes in the LncRNA‐GAS5 gene promoter region may be protected against SLE by up‐regulating the expression of LncRNA‐GAS5, which consecutively regulated miR‐21 and PTEN levels.

Uniform and well-dispersed SiO2:x%Tb3+@Lu2O3:y%Eu3+ core-shell spherical phosphors were synthesized via a solvothermal method followed by a subsequent calcination process. The structure, phase composition, and morphology of the samples were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that the Lu2O3:Eu3+ layer was evenly coated on the surface of SiO2:Tb3+ spheres and the shell thickness was about 45-65 nm. The PL spectra and fluorescence lifetimes of the samples were further studied. It was proved that the multicolor luminescence of the samples could be realized by changing the doping concentration ratio of Eu3+ or by changing the excitation wavelengths. Compared with SiO2@Lu2O3:3%Tb3+,6%Eu3+, SiO2:3%Tb3+@Lu2O3:6%Eu3+ showed stronger luminescence intensity, longer fluorescence lifetime, and higher energy transfer efficiency, which was attributed to the effective interfacial energy transfer, and the interfacial energy transfer mechanism from Tb3+ to Eu3+ was a dipole-dipole interaction mechanism. The XPS results indicated that the sample contained a high content of Si-O-Lu bonds, which proved that there was a strong interaction between the SiO2 core and the Lu2O3 shell, making the interfacial energy transfer possible. These results provided a new idea for luminescence enhancement and multicolor luminescence.

LiCoO2 (LCO) is the most successful commercial cathode for lithium-ion batteries due to its high theoretical specific capacity (274 mAh g-1). However, LCO-based batteries show a significantly high degree of instability in cycling performance and severe capacity fading as voltages exceed 4.35 V versus Li/Li+. Herein, carbon nanotube macrofilm (CMF) was used as a current collector in addressing the long-standing issues, which demonstrate LCO with first specific capacities of 191.1 and 180.1 mAh g-1 after 300 cycles, at 4.5 V. The excellent results are ascribed to the interactions between decomposed electrolytes and carbon nanotubes that ensure decompositions around cathode cleaned timely by the current collector cleaner. And thereby an ultrathin cathode electrolyte interphase obtained and keeps the feature at following cycles. The assembled LCO-based pouch cell also indicates a high energy density of 523 Wh kg-1 after 200 cycles. This work presents novel insights into cathodes with stable cycling at high voltages.

Mg–CaCO3:Eu3+ phosphors with various initial magnesium ion concentrations were successfully synthesized by a simple carbonation method without using any surfactant, catalyst, or template. It was shown that the different contents of magnesium ions in calcite play a crucial role in the morphology, structure, and luminescence properties. The morphologies of Mg–CaCO3:Eu3+ phosphors could be varied from spindle, dendritic, coral-like, and micron-flower-like to finally club-like by adjusting the initial magnesium ion mole percentage. The modified titration experiment indicated that not all magnesium ions had lattice substitutions. In addition, the photoluminescent properties and lifetimes of Eu3+ ions changed with the morphological and structural changes of the Mg–CaCO3:Eu3+ crystal, which was analyzed by Judd–Ofelt theory. Furthermore, temperature was also found to be a significant factor in the variation of the properties of Mg–CaCO3:Eu3+ phosphors. Finally, a crystal structure ball-and-stick model of Mg–CaCO3:Eu3+ phosphors was built and the possible mechanism of action was analyzed. This study provides an idea for the preparation of new hetero-ion phosphors.
