MILITARY government , *DICTATORSHIP , *LESBIANS , *HETERONORMATIVITY , *CONTENT analysis , *FEMININE identity - Abstract
The article's goal is to understand how lesbian women's spaces of sociability were constituted during the military dictatorship in Florianópolis - SC, Brazil. These lesbians were part of LGBT group considered subversive at the time of the military regime. The female experience of the dissident sexualities of heteronormativity was investigated in this research through indepth interviews with four women who experienced the dictatorship during their youth. The discourse systematization was performed through content analysis as proposed by Bardin, 1977 and Silva e Silva, 2016). The discourse semantic structure of the women who collaborated with the research brings identities into temporal and spatial movements, as well as the simultaneity of spatial visibility / invisibility as a way of living in times of dictatorship. This article analyzes the adaptation of the story "Family life" by Alejandro Zambra, taken to the cinema by Jiménez and Scherson in 2016. Rather than exhaustively analyzing all those elements that are transferred from the text to the image, I am interested in observing certain transformations that occur at the narrative level, such as the disappearance of the narrator. I will also analyze some of the main additions of the film version that are the spatial dimension and corporeality, and some intermedial practices, both in the story and in the film. 505.

- Abstract
This article aims to analyze the configuration of space in Milton Hatoum's novel Two Brothers. In order to do so, it will be investigated, mainly, the way in which the wandering and the exile, lived by the personages, are related to the configuration of the space in the narrative. The methodology contemplates the theoretical-critical studies formulated by Certeau (2014), Bhabha (2013), Maffesoli (2001), Said (2003), among others. The results of analysis point to a problematization about the relationship between the subject and the socially constructed space by those who, in search of an identity, are affected by the feeling of non-belonging. From this perspective, therefore, Hatoum's novel evidences the space of the exile and the immigrant to think the sense of identity in contemporary times. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

POLITICAL science , *SOCIAL sciences , *POLITICAL participation , *HISTORICAL analysis , *COMMUNITIES , *MODERNITY - Abstract
The community is built from the integration and different exchanges between collectives. As a human form of groupment, it is defined by two central elements: politics and space. Thus, with modernity, the dependence from what is outside outweighs what is within, where the hegemonic actors manage to renew the social relations, the means of production and even the understanding about these spaces. Human sciences are also responsible in reproducing different views about the concept of community and its' applications. In Brazil, the political relations stand out on the conformation of communities. The authoritarianism of hegemonic classes imposed in the daily living and the discourse based on local relevance hide the conflicts lived within the communities and hinder internal and external political action of the populace. This paper discusses these questions from a theorical review of authors who work with the theme in order to explain a given local reality. It is stressed the necessity of a political and historical analysis about how the communities spatialize, their dynamics and transformations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
- Abstract
In this article, we propose an analysis of the variations of the double myth in Milton Hatoum's novel Two Brothers, published in 2000. Based on the theoretical and critical assumptions from Bravo (1997), Rank (2013), Bachelard (1993), Rosset (1999) and Freud ( 1996), it is intended to demonstrate that in addition to the theme of the twin brothers the double, in Two Brothers, can be read in two other aspects of duplicity: the narrator configuration, which tries to define its identity as mirror other; and the image of the house in ruins, a space that doubly reflects the decadence of the Lebanese family, as well as the immigrant's cultural identity on the land of others. Based on the post-1989 Cultural Geography studies and the Geographic studies of Religion, the present essay aimed to explore the relationship between religion and media in the age of 2.0, the age of social networks and the diffusion of media. In order to achieve this goal, we tried to understand how these new social relations occur through hypermodernity, which is characterized by the culture of excess, the intensification of values and a greater diversification of production aimed at consumption. We have also discussed how the process of development and propagation of the media and the cyberspace create new strategies for diffusion of faith. Through political, economic and local dimensions, we were able to understand the new connections between the sacred, the faith and the new dynamics of hypermodern society. The Roman Catholic Church in Brazil and the new spatial and territorial transformations through cyberspace and media are the empirical examples of the present research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SPACETIME - Abstract
This paper addresses temporality and spatiality, a subject that concerned important philosophers and mathematicians, but also thinkers such as Jaspers and Freud. It focuses on Jaspers who delimited time and space as guarantors of the internalization of the world, and on Freud, who, familiarized with the semiology of the psychiatric clinic of his time and relying on his knowledge of the hidden meaning of words, constructed a psychic apparatus that was rather based on the inventive temporality of timelessness, a circular and retroactive temporality. - Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the way of social configuration of the internal space of the house in "Esboço de uma casa" and "Vende a casa", by Carlos Drummond de Andrade. For this purpose, we have based ourselves in the assumption that this configuration projects itself through the intersection among the discursive expression of experience, ability and intimacy of the chronicler with the place in which he inhabits and the visual and sensorial impressions of the reader, respecting the representation of dwelling. In this regard, the apprehension of the reader of the representation of the internal space of the house in both chronicles is nothing more than the synthesis image of the experience of dwelling reported by the chronicler and the reception of such report by the reader. - Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to expose what one might call "the aesthetics" of determining judgment, namely the judgment in its cognitive task. I propose to develop the idea that the Transcendental Aesthetic only presents itself as a doctrine precisely by the presence of the phenomenon to be known, who goes to work the entire typical cognitive apparatus of the imagination. Indeed, leaving aside here the Analytic of Principles, the triple synthesis is, in this sense, the preview 'construction' of this aesthetic doctrine, especially if we take as a starting point the statements of Kant, according to which space and time are products imagination. How is media space occupied in radiojournalism as a place of dispute for meaning by social voices? The article analyzes the programming of CBN Rio over a week with the mapping of the selected sources to discuss the social themes. To do so, one starts with concepts of geography, such as space, place and territorial configuration to understand the dynamics of dispute in the journalistic scenario in the global South. It presents a spiral cartography with high areas of discussion from the perspective of primary sources and low zones with secondary ones. The study seeks to contribute with possibilities for dialogue on research that links the geographies of communication and the diversity of sources in radiojournalism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The relationship between Geography and Cinema is, increasingly, more expressive. When one observes the number of publications, specially since the 80s, it is possible to perceive that the interest towards the moving images has become considerably plural. The research problems built by researchers fascinates by its diversity and enchantes by the conceptual refinement achieved. In this sense, this article main objetive is to reflect about the new problematization regarding the concepts of space, landscape and place which were created from the approximation between Geography and Cinema. For such was conducted a research to look for text that discuss Cinema in Geographic journal and, throught those, were built the reflections regarding cinematic space, filmic space and narrative space, as well as cinematic place and the multiple ramifications of the landscape that are the focus of interest in this paper. MONUMENTS , *NATIONALISM , *REVOLUTIONS ,SOCIAL aspects - Abstract
This article analyses the political economy of Henri Lefebvre's concept of ‘state space’ with specific attention directed towards the Monument to the Revolution in Mexico City, completed in 1938. The conditions of modernity can be generally related to the spatial ordering of urban landscapes within capital cities conjoining the specifics of national identity with imitative processes. Antonio Gramsci captured such sentiments through his understanding of the condition of ‘passive revolution’. The key contribution of this article is to draw attention to forms of everyday passive revolution, recognising both cosmopolitan and vernacular aspects of modern architecture in relation to the Monument to the Revolution. A focus on the Monument to the Revolution thus reveals specific spatial practices of everyday passive revolution relevant to the codification of architecture and the political economy of modern state formation in Mexico. These issues are revealed, literally, as vital expressions in the architecture of everyday passive revolution in modern Mexico. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Understanding space as something open, unfinished, product and producer, but also material, visible and representation of social relations, thus, its production is a condition and product of spatial reproduction, being full of intentionalities. Therefore, in each historical moment, there is a space that is consistent with the current mode of production and, nowadays, capitalism is linked to the processes of commodification and metropolization, which increasingly exclude and segregate society - since the space is due to political-economic needs and not to the reproduction of social life. The everyday life, on the other hand, has been characterized by the amplification of the reproduction focused on the consumption; appearing then as the place of the reproduction of traditions and values, of the banal, of the programmed and of the permanence and maintenance of alienated and alienating situations. This article seeks to demonstrate that tensions, interactions and struggles between domination and resistances materialize at the space, based on the everyday life - since in this is kept the possibility of changes, since it is in him that human existence is performed. Is possible to see the commons - understood as material or immaterial resources collectively shared, used and managed by a community - would be spaces appropriate collectively by the society and configure a perspective of transition for a city and a society more just. - Abstract
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Geraldo Pereira comes up as an important name in the history of Brazilian Popular Music and of Samba for being considered the most brilliant upholder of syncopated rhythm. However, there are few studies about his work, composed of 77 samba songs, registered along 16 years of career (1939-1955). Among them, 69 are related to women or to loving universe, what evidences the importance of that theme in this samba composer's songbook. Considering that recurrence, the objective of this scientific article is to analyze the lyric love production of the composer from Minas Gerais State, aiming to reflect, in 3 of his lyrics, about human types found there and about relations established between female and male genders, as they happened in the historical context of his production. Three aspects are highlighted: the disorganization of male universe as a result of female home leaving, social space offered by him and culturally reserved to her, in opposition to the street (public), belonging to male figure; the use of a religious rhetoric as a way to solve or compensate female leaving suffered by men and relationships and misunderstandings triggered by uncommitted behavior of both, dwelt in Samba world. - Abstract
This work intends to describe the space constituted in the rural district of Pelotas, located in Rio Grande do Sul, and that was permeated by cultures of diverse groups ethnics. During the nineteenth century, we highlight the presence of Portugueses, aboriginals and blacks, and in this context had a great animosity due to antagonistic interests. Approaching the assumptions of abolition, the authorities adopted as a strategy to occupy the territory the foundation of colonies, restricting the spaces used by blacks. Thus colonies of French, German, Pomeranian and Italian immigrants were founded. Cerqueira and Silva (2011), authors who help us in this reflection, write that the rural district in question was constituted by a cultural mosaic. In view of the above, we believe that it is necessary to discuss aboutacquaintanceship between ethnic groups cited, as well as the configuration of the borders established from these experiences. - Abstract
This article assumes that the Puritan ethic, as an expression of value and attitudes to the general ascetic Protestantism would become primarily responsible for the English scientific development in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This construction, developed by Robert K. Merton in his article Puritanism, pietism and science had as background the work The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism by Max Weber published in 1904. On that article Merton aimed to highlight some particular characteristics of the social behavior arising from the Puritan ethos which were clearly associated to the conduct of English scientists. In our construction we aimed to draw a parallel between the reflections of Merton and the reading of the "world system" present in the structure of Newtonian science. Finally we have sought to understand how Newtonian space ended up influencing the English Geography. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

539. PEREGRINAÇÃO: O PÉ E O ESPAÇO PARA DAR O PASSO.

- Abstract
LAN-EN Pilgrimage is a human practice that founds a luminous space experience. To discuss geographically about the beauty of such practical experience is what this scientific essay intends to do. Thus the pilgrimage is perceived as a geographical act that can be interpreted through the attempt to approach the essence of the steps taken by the pilgrim bodies, which is equivalent to reflect on the symbolic qualities of the spaces touched by the feet of pilgrim men and women. Based on the pilgrimage practices of Our Lord of Bonfim's Pilgrimage (Nativity-TO), I come to the idea that the pilgrim develops a kind of corporal poetry for space, believing that his experiences can be, with some effort, presented from texts with such a tone of life - poetic - as I try to proceed.

Thinking of the subject, in Geography, is a possibility we present through its relation to the object, the space in its conceptual power and territory. From those references, it arises the concepts of geographic horizon and geographicity as means and condition to enable the subject reading. The drafted text as an interpretative proposal, has an analysis of the sociological subject’s path to the geographic subject, through its ratio to space, territory and place, moving towards interdisciplinary in search for arguments in Sociology and Anthropology, mainly as a form of dialogue and bring into Geography different readings about space and territory.

The reflections of this article are based on a living experience. It’s about an Illness body and its perceptual modifications. The lived body is primordial, and from it, we constitute our horizons of orientation: it is the zero point of orientation. So, what are the perceptual changes that an Illness body promotes to the lived experience? To reflect on this issue, I turn, especially, to Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology regarding the problem of the constitution of corporeality (Leiblichkeit). Therefore, I will consider that an Illness body causes not only a perceptual change, but above all, disorientation.

- Abstract
This paper proposes an interpretation of the intersection of extractivism and frontiers. It explores the effects of the progressive settling of luxury wine tourism and protected areas over small livestock producers associated to grazing systems. We choose a locality at the foothills of the Andes cordillera (Uco Valley), focusing on the site called Manzano Histórico (Historical Apple Tree). The combined use of different research tools (secondary data and documents analysis, in-depth interviews, direct observation, and the production of cartography) permits to observe that these territories —the living space for cattle producers— have been progressively incorporated to capital and conservation, especially since the XXI century. At present, they express multiple and diverse compression situations on direct producers, that lead in turn to a remodeling of cattle-raising activities keeping pace with high-end tourism. This paper shows that high-end tourism and nature conservationare not opposed but rather mutually reinforcing activities. Also, that direct producers are not victims in lack of agency, since they reshape their productive profiles to take part in the tourism market highlighting theirparticular traits., El artículo propone una lectura de las intersecciones extractivismo y fronteras.

- Abstract
This article presents the historical and contemporary relationship that cinema and urban-architectural space have developed. Its purpose is to show the reciprocal influence between objective and virtual reality projected in science fiction films like Blade Runner, by director Ridley Scott (1982), and Ready Player One, by Steven Spielberg (2011), regarding the current perception of architectural space. The idea behind establishing the relationship between these films is highlighting the prospective used by their directors around user-architecture interaction and technology. Some of the literary and cinematographic works that address the topic of postmodern cities and the cities of the future are cited as background, either from a Utopian vision or from the perspective of a dystopia. Methodologically, a critical review of both films was carried out based on an analysis layout on the conception of architecture through its scenography or staging (Zavala, 2003), as well as the similarity with the way in which we currently travel through the architectural space with the use of mixed reality technology. In this way, the results show how mixed reality (physical and virtual) influences the perception and behavior of users within physical spaces. The conclusion expresses the inescapable presence of mixed reality in spaces as complex as those of cinema and architecture., O artigo apresenta a relação histórica e contemporânea que o cinema e o espaço urbano-arquitetônico têm mantido.

- Abstract
In this article we address the relationship between war and the organization of space in theformation of modern State. For this we focus on the main theories about war and the formation of theState. In contrast to most of these theories, we use geopolitics to present our explanation. We argue thatgeopolitics is a practice inserted in war and that the latter has decisive implications in the organizationof space. Thus the war has led to the transformation of the internal state constitution with itsterritorialization due to security reasons. This has meant both the integration of the geographical spaceof the state in a common jurisdictional framework and the establishment of external political borders. We contrast this hypothesis with the study of the French state and analyze how internal and externalwars contributed to its territorialization., En este artículo abordamos la relación entre la guerra y la organización del espacio en la formación del Estado moderno.
