Numerical investigations of laminar shock-wave/boundary-layer interactions (SWBLIs) in hypersonic flow have been carried out at M∞ = 6.85 and M∞ ≈ 8, with unit Reynolds numbers ranging from 2.0 x 106 m- l to 7.60 x 106 m- l. This thesis deals with a simplified 2-D geometric configuration to simulate SWBLIs on vehicle surfaces or engine intakes, i.e. the interaction of an oblique shock (produced by a wedge) impinging on an incoming laminar boundary-layer on an isothermal flat plate. The numerical simulations were performed with weak/moderate to strong shock. The results were compared with available theoretical and experimental results. Limited experimental work at M∞ = 6.85 for obtaining qualitative data were performed to provide the location of separation and re-attachment points using surface oil flow. Schlieren photographs were taken to provide the general flow features. A comprehensive analysis was performed on the 2-D numerical results with various Mach numbers, Reynolds numbers and shock strengths, to verify whether numerical solutions were able to confirm the established trends for the laminar free-interaction concept. An analysis was also performed using a well-established power-law relationship of pressure and heat flux in the region of interactions. An unstable first oblique mode disturbance was imposed with the strongest wedge angle, 9°, at M∞ = 6.85 and unit Reynolds number 2.45 x 106 m- l to determine the boundary-layer stability and its propensity to undergo transition in the linear regime. Several unsteady 3-D simulations were performed with varied parameters. Streamwise vortices were generated in all cases especially downstream of maximum separation bubble height. However, as the amplifications of the disturbance were quite small, transition was found to be unlikely at these conditions

- Abstract
Technological sophistication brings the world community to be faced with the 6th generation of war, namely war involving the latest technology, artificial intelligence (AI), satellites, and robotics. This indicates that war has gone beyond conventional means, No. longer having to face each other or face to face as happened in the first generation of war. Although in several parts of the world the "classic" war still occurs, it is more sectoral in nature and only in local scale conflicts. The qualitative descriptive research method was chosen because the researcher wanted to get a description of Indonesian military research and development in dealing with the sixth generation warfare: the use of artificial intelligence in war operations. Given the dynamics of the world's rapid technological developments, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) must be adaptable, one of which is by updating defense equipment that incorporates the concept of artificial intelligence (AI). The use of artificial intelligence by the TNI is a necessity, this is caused by increasingly sophisticated threat patterns, so the use of technology is very relevant to ensuring the security of border areas. Maintaining the integrity of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia is a "fixed price," and one of its forms is ensuring the security of the border area.

FECAL egg count , *PROTOZOAN diseases , *PARASITIC diseases , *ENDOPARASITES , *GOATS - Abstract
The risk of parasitism in different groups of small ruminants depends on intrinsic, environmental, and management factors. Although there are different views regarding the sex-related risk of endoparasites in small ruminants, females are undoubtedly the most affected group in the flock. Moreover, whether the greater sex-specific risk of parasitic infection observed in female goats in field situations is associated with their production or other intrinsic factors is still under scrutiny. In this paper, cross-sectional epidemiological data collected from selected small ruminant flocks were analysed to determine the distribution, risk, and burden of endoparasites in young, nonpregnant, pregnant, and lactating female goats. There was a higher incidence of gastrointestinal parasites (88.4%, 95%CI= 83.01-92.19) than blood protozoa (54.0%, 95%CI= 46.85-60.92), with a significant difference among the groups. A higher risk of gastrointestinal parasites was observed in lactating (OR = 46.667, P = 0.001) and pregnant (OR = 9.167, P = 0.003) groups. A greater risk of blood protozoan infection was also observed in the pregnant (OR = 5.971, P = 0.0104) and lactating (OR = 3.600, P = 0.0528) groups. A significant increase in the mean faecal egg count of the lactating (2.72 ± 0.76) and pregnant (2.34 ± 0.97) groups (P < 0.05) was accompanied by a significantly lower mean PCV in the lactating group (23.48 ± 4.838) than the kids (29.44 ± 6.13), or nonpregnant (27.80 ± 5.525) groups (P < 0.05). Thus, the pregnant and lactating female goats may experience a greater exposure risk and burden of endoparasites. Therefore, female goats may be selectively targeted for implementing nutritional management, controlled grazing, and selective anthelmintic treatment during pregnancy and lactation to save cost and minimise excessive use of anthelmintic. - Abstract
The VOYAGER-PAD trial demonstrated the interest in dual pathway inhibition (DPI) (low dose rivaroxaban plus aspirin) to reduce limb and cardiovascular events after revascularisation for peripheral artery disease (PAD), but its applicability in clinical practice has not yet been assessed. This study aimed to assess the number of patients revascularised in France for PAD and to estimate the proportion of those matching the VOYAGER-PAD trial selection criteria. A secondary objective was to examine the prognosis of revascularised patients in a real world setting. This observational retrospective study was conducted on the national hospital discharge database and included all patients with PAD who underwent lower extremity revascularisation for PAD (without lower extremity revascularisation in the two years prior to inclusion) from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2019. Available VOYAGER-PAD selection criteria were then applied to the study population. In total, 180 870 patients were included (mean age 72.0 ± 12.2 years, 30.9% female), with approximately 45 000 patients revascularised annually. Among them, 90 379 (50.0%) matched the VOYAGER-PAD trial criteria (VOYAGER-PAD eligible subgroup; mean age 69.8 ± 12.1 years, 29.5% female). In the study population and the VOYAGER-PAD eligible subgroup, 33.9% and 26.6% of patients had diabetes, 28.1% and 19.9% had chronic coronary artery disease, and 14.6% and 5.7% had renal failure, respectively. Overall, 73.1% of study patients were treated by an endovascular approach (75.5% in the VOYAGER-PAD eligible subgroup). In patients with more than one year of follow up, 45.4% of study patients and 36.0% of the VOYAGER-PAD eligible subgroup experienced a limb or cardiovascular event. The median time until the first event and in hospital death was 4.8 months and 7.8 months, respectively (6.7 months and 12.9 months in the VOYAGER-PAD eligible subgroup). The burden of PAD for revascularisation and secondary events is considerable. One half of revascularised patients in France are eligible for DPI therapy. Those patients are younger, with fewer comorbidities, and better outcomes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This veterinary clinical and pathology case report describes a severe clinical case of theileriosis in adult cattle with prolonged recumbency and terminal wasting because of complications due to chronic theileriosis in two adult (2-year-old) Jersey-Friesian Cross. The case was referred to the large animal clinic of the University Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The animals were presented as recumbent, dull, depressed, hypothermic, dehydrated, and cachexic. There were poor responses of the patients to fluid therapy and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory treatments, and they both died within 24 hrs of clinical presentation. Haematology (complete blood count and serum biochemistry) results revealed haemoconcentration and faecal examinations were negative for liver fluke infestation and blood smear examination was positive for intraerythrocytic piroplasms of Theileria (0.01% parasitaemia). Post-mortem examination further revealed advanced cachexia, generalised serous atrophy of fat, hepatomegaly, hepatic congestion, pulmonary congestion, and pulmonary oedema. Histological findings revealed atrophy of the hepatic cord, hepatic congestion, splenic hemosiderosis, pulmonary oedema and congestion. The clinicopathological findings supported an aetiological diagnosis of a severe clinical case of Theileriosis with terminal wasting because of complications due to chronic Theileriosis infection. Background: Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare peritoneal mucinous carcinomatosis with largely unknown underlying molecular mechanisms. Cytoreductive surgery combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy is the only therapeutic option; however, despite its use, recurrence with a fatal outcome is common. The lack of molecular characterisation of PMP and other mucinous tumours is mainly due to the physicochemical properties of mucin. Results: This manuscript describes the first protocol capable of breaking the mucin barrier and isolating proteins from mucinous tumours. Briefly, mucinous tumour samples were homogenised and subjected to liquid chromatography using two specific columns to reduce mainly glycoproteins, albumins and immunoglobulin G. The protein fractions were then subjected to mass spectrometry analysis and the proteomic profile obtained was analysed using various bioinformatic tools. Thus, we present here the first proteome analysed in PMP and identified a distinct mucin isoform profile in soft compared to hard mucin tumour tissues as well as key biological processes/pathways altered in mucinous tumours. Importantly, this protocol also allowed us to identify MUC13 as a potential tumour cell marker in PMP. Conclusions: In sum, our results demonstrate that this protein isolation protocol from mucin will have a high impact, allowing the oncology research community to more rapidly advance in the knowledge of PMP and other mucinous neoplasms, as well as develop new and effective therapeutic strategies. All guidelines worldwide strongly recommend exercise as a pillar of the management of patients affected by lower extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD). Exercise therapy in this setting presents different modalities, and a structured programme provides optimal results. This clinical consensus paper is intended for clinicians to promote and assist for the set-up of comprehensive exercise programmes to best advice in patients with symptomatic chronic PAD. Different exercise training protocols specific for patients with PAD are presented. Data on patient assessment and outcome measures are narratively described based on the current best evidence. The document ends by highlighting disparities in access to supervised exercise programmes across Europe and the series of gaps for evidence requiring further research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Paratuberculosis, also known as Johne's disease, is a chronic wasting disease caused by Mycobacterium avium subs paratuberculosis (MAP) in ruminants. Paratuberculosis causes a significant reduction of milk production in the affected dairy sheep or goats and increase the cost of diagnosis, treatment, and culling of the infected animals. Paratuberculosis is currently recognised as a disease of major economic significance in cattle, sheep, goats, and wild ruminants globally. Recent reports also suggest that paratuberculosis affects wild ruminants and farmed deer. Despite the widespread occurrence of MAP, there are variations in the seroprevalence and global distribution patterns of disease among small ruminants and deer herds due to the influence of interacting epidemiological variables in different places. This systematic review aims to provide insights on the current global seroprevalence status and distribution pattern of paratuberculosis among small ruminants and deer herds. The review compiled, analyzed, and narratively synthesized 36 eligible research articles published between January 1, 2010, and January 31, 2024, from the SCOPUS and PubMed databases based on the 22-point Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) checklist. The average global seroprevalence of paratuberculosis in sheep was 14.02% (0.7-66.8), with the highest rate in Canada (66.8%) and the lowest in Austria (0.7%). Comparatively, the average global seroprevalence in goats was 18.44% (0.3-83), with the highest rate in Canada (83%) and the lowest in the West Indies (0.3%). The average global prevalence of paratuberculosis in deer was 14.76% (3.7-30.2), with the highest rate in Spain (30.2%) and the lowest rate in the Czech Republic (3.7%). This review revealed that Canada is a hot spot for both caprine and ovine paratuberculosis and there was a higher global seroprevalence rates in goats than sheep and deer. The lack of data on the seroepidemiology of paratuberculosis among small ruminant stock in Southeast Asia and other regions is a gap in our current knowledge of its distribution. Therefore, seroprevalence surveys of paratuberculosis among the small ruminant and deer livestock are required to furnish information for planning suitable interventions in these areas. ELECTROCHEMICAL sensors ,DOXORUBICIN ,GOLD nanoparticles ,CARBON electrodes ,GOLD electrodes - Abstract
This study focuses on addressing the challenges associated with doxorubicin (DOX), an anthracycline chemotherapeutic widely used in cancer treatment. Despite its efficacy, DOX is linked to severe side effects that limit its clinical applications. Novel pharmaceutical formulations aim to mitigate these issues, providing better safety profiles. The development of these formulations requires analytical methods that can accurately and quickly quantify DOX. A cost-effective and portable electrochemical sensor for DOX detection was developed utilizing in-house printed carbon electrodes decorated with gold nanoparticles. DOX was detected using differential pulse voltammetry. The sensor demonstrated an accurate quantification of DOX from novel pharmaceutical formulations and serum, presenting a dynamic range of 1 to 500 μg/mL and a low detection limit of 0.3 μg/mL. The method, successfully applied to characterize DOX-loaded nanosomes, offers a valuable alternative in the early stages of formulation development, reducing costs and saving time, while maintaining accuracy. Abstract Background In the biofuel industry, land productivity is important to feedstock growers and conversion process product yield is important to the biorefinery. The crop productivity, however, may not positively correlate with bioconversion yield. Therefore, it is important to evaluate sugar yield and biomass productivity. In this study, 2-year-old poplar trees harvested in the first coppice cycle, including one low-productivity hybrid and one high-productivity hybrid, were collected from two poplar tree farms. Through steam pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis, the bioconversion yields of low- and high-productivity poplar hybrids were compared for both sites. Results The low-productivity hybrids had 9–19% higher sugar yields than the high-productivity hybrids, although they have the similar chemical composition. Economic calculations show the impact on the plantation and biorefinery of using the two feedstocks. Growing a high-productivity hybrid means the land owner would use 11–26% less land (which could be used for other crops) or collect $2.53–$3.46 MM/year extra revenue from the surplus feedstock. On the other side, the biorefinery would receive 5–10% additional revenue using the low-productivity hybrid. Conclusion We propose a business model based on the integration of the plantation and the biorefinery. In this model, different feedstocks are assessed using a metric of product tonnage per unit land per year. Use of this new economic metric bridges the gap between feedstock growers and users to maximize the overall production efficiency.

Phosphoinositides (PIs) are phosphorylated membrane lipids that have a plethora of roles in the cell, including vesicle trafficking, signaling, and actin reorganization. The most abundant PIs in the cell are phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate [PI(4,5)P2] and phosphatidylinositol-4-monophosphate (PI4P). The localization and roles of both PI(4,5)P2 and PI4P are well established, is the broadly accepted methodological approach for their immunocytochemical visualization in different cell compartments in several cell lines. However, not much is known about these PIs in platelets (PLTs), the smallest blood cells that detect vessel wall injury, activate, and stop the bleeding. Therefore, we sought to investigate the localization of PI(4,5)P2 and PI4P in resting and activated PLTs by antibody staining. Here, we show that the intracellular pools of PI(4,5)P2 and PI4P can be detected by the established staining protocol, and these pools can be modulated by inhibitors of OCRL phosphatase and PI4KIIIα kinase. However, although resting PLTs readily stain for the plasma membrane (PM) pools of PI(4,5)P2 and PI4P, just a few activated cells were stained with the established protocol. We show that optimized protocol allows for the visualization of PI(4,5)P2 and PI4P at PM in activated PLTs, which could also be modulated by OCRL and PI4KIIIα inhibitors. We conclude that PI(4,5)P2 and PI4P are more sensitive to lipid extraction by permeabilizing agents in activated than in resting human PLTs, which suggests their different roles during PLT activation.

The assessment of the meteorological factors, in direct correlation with the nectar release and honey production, helps beekeepers with the organization of the technological activities within the apiary (determination of the pastoral schedule, supplementary feedings, reproduction of bee colonies, honey harvest, etc.). The study was carried out between 14th of April and 20th of July 2017, on 20 Apis mellifera carpatica bee colonies, maintained in multi-layer and Dadant beehives. The bee colonies were transported in field for rape, acacia and sunflower gathering and monitored with the help of the BeeWatch Professional device. The rape and acacia gatherings were negatively influenced by low temperatures and heavy rainfall, which impeded the capitalization of the melliferous potential. The bee colonies gathered only 5 kg rape honey and 3.9 kg acacia honey/bee colony/period. As regards the sunflower, the weather conditions were optimal for gathering, and the bee colonies gathered the supplies necessary for winter and also 5 kg honey extra. The honey production obtained by the bee colonies studied was not influenced by the beehive type; it was strongly influenced by the environmental factors, temperature and humidity.

3D Scanners Lab from Digital Humanities Laboratory at the University of Warsaw initiated the scientific project, the purpose of which was to call attention to systematically penetrated and devastated pyramid-shaped tomb from the XVIII/XIX century, of family von Fahrenheid in Rapa in Banie Mazurskie commune (NE Poland). By conducting a series of non-invasive studies, such as 3D inventory using terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), thermal imaging, georadar measurements (around and inside the tomb) and anthropological research of mummified remains as well - the complete dataset was collected. Through the integration of terrestrial (TLS) and airborne laser scanning (ALS) authors managed to analyse the surroundings of Fahrenheid pyriamid and influence of some objects (like trees) on the condition and visibility of the Pyramids in the landscape.

Abstract Background Feedstock cost is a substantial barrier to the commercialization of lignocellulosic biorefineries. Poplar grown using a short rotation coppice (SRC) system has the potential to provide a low-cost feedstock and economically viable sugar yields for fuels and chemicals production. In the coppice management regime, poplars are harvested after 2 years’ growth to develop the root system and establish the trees. The biomass from these 2-year-old trees is very heterogeneous, and includes components of leaf, bark, branch, and wood chip. This material is quite different than the samples that have been used in most poplar bioconversion research, which come from mature trees of short rotation forestry (SRF) plantations. If the coppice management regime is to be used, it is important that feedstock growers maximize their revenue from this initial harvest, but the heterogeneous nature of the biomass may be challenging for bioconversion. This work evaluates bioconversion of 2-year-old poplar coppice and compares its performance to whitewood chips from 12-year-old poplar. Results The 2-year-old whole tree coppice (WTC) is comprised of 37% leaf, 9% bark, 12% branch, and 42% wood chip. As expected, the chemical compositions of each component were markedly different. The leaf has a low sugar content but is high in phenolics, ash, and extractives. By removing the leaves, the sugar content of the biomass increased significantly, while the phenolic, ash, and extractives contents decreased. Leaf removal improved monomeric sugar yield by 147 kg/tonne of biomass following steam pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis. Bioconversion of the no-leaf coppice (NLC) achieved a 67% overall sugar recovery, showing no significant difference to mature whitewood from forestry plantation (WWF, 71%). The overall sugar yield of NLC was 135 kg/tonne less than that of WWF, due to the low inherent sugar content in original biomass. An economic analysis shows the minimum ethanol selling price required to cover the operating cost of NLC bioconversion was $1.69/gallon. Conclusions Leaf removal resulted in significant improvement in overall monomeric sugar production from SRC biomass. Leaf removal is essential to achieve good yields in bioconversion of poplar. Economic analysis suggests the NLC could be a reasonable feedstock provided it can be obtained at a discounted price.

General Medicine - Abstract
Pulses occupy a very unique position in Indian agriculture by virtue of the fact that they are highly nutritious and provide a protein-filled diet via food. As compared to the cereal production globally, pulses are being produced sporadically in low fertile lands having moisture stress condition which eventually conceal its true yield capacity to its poor management practices. The aim of the present study uses to estimate the genetic parameters of 13 yield attributing characters traits in 20 Black gram genotypes with the view to select for better yield contributed characters in Black gram. Analysis of variance showed significant differences for all the 13 characters. Seed yield per plant exhibited high estimates of PCV, GCV and heritability. Super—imposition of genotypes was observed in Metro glyph analysis because of close proximity two variables taken for plotting the genotypes. In this classification analysis made based on biological yield and harvest index for all the 20 genotypes formed 4 complexes. Out of 20 genotypes 4 genotypes like KU-99-16, KU-96-8, KU-48 and KU-303 were recorded highest index score and fell into different complex, hence used as parents for getting good combinations for future hybridization programmers.

In European culture the colour black has quite a diverse and complex symbolism, which is also confirmed in the phrases containing black and referring to human life and the surrounding nature. This article is a comparative analysis of the meanings (figurative and literal) and connotations of the term “black” in three genetically close languages: Czech, Polish and Upper Sorbian. The comparative approach has brought out both the similarities in the conceptualization of this colour and its connotations, which are typical for two languages or only one. The semantic connotations of black in the analysed languages confirm their high compliance, which results from the linguistic and cultural proximity. The differences relate primarily to the wealth of expressions that implement the appropriate connotations. There is a visible lack of symmetry between Czech and Polish ??on the one hand, and Upper Sorbian on the other. In Upper Sorbian, as a minority language, one can also notice the influence of the German language (clichés of German expressions), which results from the closeness of Upper Sorbian with German.

The optimal strength of compression needed to prevent post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) after a proximal deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is debated. We aimed to assess whether 25 mm Hg elastic compression stockings (ECS) are non-inferior to 35 mm Hg ECS in preventing PTS after a DVT.In this multicentre, double-blind, non-inferiority, randomised controlled trial, we enrolled adults (≥18 years) with a first ipsilateral proximal DVT attending 46 French vascular medicine hospital departments or private practices. Participants were randomly allocated (1:1, stratified by centre, age, and sex; with varying block sizes of two and four) to wear 25 mm Hg or 35 mm Hg ECS for 2 years. The primary outcome was the cumulative rate of PTS 2 years after inclusion, defined by a Villalta scale (≥5). Efficacy was assessed by intention-to-treat and in eligible participants who had complete primary outcome data. A per-protocol analysis was also conducted among compliant patients as a secondary outcome measure. Safety was assessed in all participants who used ECS at least once, and for which we have at least some tolerance information during follow-up. The margin for non-inferiority was 12·5%. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT01578122, and has been completed.Between June 28, 2012, and July 21, 2017, we enrolled 341 eligible participants who consented to randomisation. 233 (68%) were men and median age was 59 years (IQR 45-70). Collection of ethnicity and race as a routine research variable is not authorised in France. Median follow-up was 735 days (IQR 721-760). 249 (73%) had complete data at 2 years. For the primary analysis, 40 (31%) of 129 participants with complete data in the 25 mm Hg ECS group and 40 (33%) of 120 in the 35 mm Hg group had PTS (absolute difference -2·3% [90% CI -12·1 to 7·4], pAlthough we did not reach the prespecified sample size, our results suggest that 25 mm Hg ECS are non-inferior to 35 mm Hg ECS in preventing PTS. Larger more powerful studies are needed.Laboratoires Innothera, France.
