World distribution. Known only from the East Balkans. Remarks. Our material is in agreement with Strasser���s (1967) observations, although the body colour is more brownish. In the original description Verhoeff discussed a special gynandromorph individual of M. rhodopinum, i.e. an adult female with cyphopods and eggs but also with male gonopods (Verhoeff 1928). Gynandromorph females are rarely published (e.g. Bigler 1920, Verhoeff 1910 a), neither did such individual occur in our material, even among any Megaphyllum individuals. This material was labeled as ��� holotype ��� and provided with a name which seems, however, never to have been published by Strasser. In the NHMW there is a label ���Manuskriptsname��� suggesting its unpublished status, from 1980. There are two ��� holotype ��� preparations in the collection: one with gonopods (Figs 84���86) and a part of the 7 th body ring, the other with some walking legs and the gnathochilarium. As the trunk of the ��� holotype ��� individual is missing, we cannot describe it here as a new species. The gonopods fit well to the brachyiuline criteria, even to subgenus Omobrachyiulus, but differ from all other hitherto described species according to the bifurcated process (bp on Figs 84���85.) on the opisthomere. Until new, intact individuals are available, we can only refer to it as a species inquirenda. FIGURES 69���78. Endemic to the island of Corfu, Greece. Remarks. Strasser could not demonstrate a distinct distribution of the two subspecies on the island. However, the gonopodal differences were so remarkable that he suggested a separate subspecies status for the form discrepans (Strasser 1976). Bulgaria: Rhodope Mts.: Dyavolskoto Garlo Cave near Trigrad (type locality) (Vagalinski & Stoev 2007). World distribution. Endemic to the Rhodope Mts., Bulgaria. Remarks. Though known only from a cave, this species is regarded as trogloxene, having no evident troglobiotic adaptations. The paper presents the first catalogue of the millipede order Julida (Diplopoda:Helminthomorpha) in Bulgaria. The order is currently known to comprise 3 families (Blaniulidae, Nemasomatidae and Julidae), 21 valid genera, 51 species and 3 subspecies in the country. Another 11 species and the genus Thachypodoiulus were quoted probably erroneously for Bulgaria. Archiboreoiulus pallidus and Megaphyllum dentatum were reported without mention of their exact localities, and have never been found since. All relevant literature sources are given for each species group taxon with exact pages; detailed distribution by geographical regions; as well as a list of habitats where the species was found in the country; altitudinal range; chorotype; and sometimes additional remarks. New data, among which the second and third finds in the country of Megaphyllum anatolicum denticulatum and Brachyiulus bagnalli, respectively, are given for 19 species. The paper also provides brief analysis about the habitat preferences and zoogeographical affinities of Bulgarian julids.
