The fact that students in evening (shift) schools are included in the category of workers determines the general conditions of instruction for all groups of students. These conditions are restricted primarily by the students' jobs. Consequently, in planning teaching material and in working out a study plan, the scarcity of the working students' free time must be compensated for by taking their job experience into consideration. In addition, the correct planning of the teaching process is directly dependent on the occupational and age composition of the students. Occupational homogeneity, plus a given age composition of the students, makes it possible to give a certain orientation to instruction. For adult students who have already made their choice of occupation, such an orientation will contribute considerably to raising the level of their job qualifications.
