The authors reflect on Paola Bressan's assertions on double-anchoring theory (DAT) of lightness perception. According to Bressan, the DAT to predict lightness must first determine the frameworks as a regions of common illumination. They discuss that the amount of light reflected by an object is determined by both the illumination and reflectance. Furthermore, the authors believed that Bressan made her extension theory more subjective and less precise than the original theory.
