The energy spectrum of an X-ray tube plays an important role in computed tomography (CT), and is often estimated from physical measurement of dedicated phantoms. Usually, this estimation problem is reduced to solving a system of linear equations, which is generally ill-conditioned. In this paper, we optimize a phantom design to find the most effective combinations of thicknesses for different materials. First, we analyze the ill-posedness of the energy spectrum inversion when the number of unknown variables (N) and measurements (M) are equal, and show the condition number of the system matrix increases exponentially with N if the transmission thicknesses are linearly changed. Then, we present a genetic optimization algorithm to minimize the condition number of the system matrix in a general case (M < N) with respect to the selection of thicknesses and types of phantom materials. Finally, in the simulation with Poisson noise we study the accuracy of the spectrum estimation using the expectation-maximum algorithm. Our results indicate that the proposed method allows high-quality spectrum estimation, and the number of measurements is reduced over two thirds of that required by the widely-used method using a phantom with linearly-changed thicknesses.

Therefore, establishing a scientific and effective network security evaluation model is an effective way to supervise, manage and improve network security; It is also an effective measure to reduce the loss of life and production. Therefore, we first selected six factors closely related to network security to form a complete network security evaluation index system. Then, the utility function in the traditional measurement of alternatives and ranking according to compromise solution (MARCOS) method is improved by using the value function in cumulative prospect theory (CPT), and a PDHL-MARCOS evaluation model that can reflect the decision-makers' (DMs') attitudes towards gains and losses is obtained in the probabilistic double hierarchy linguistic term set (PDHLTS). Chemical sequestration is one important manner of CCUS. The injection of CO2 into an oil reservoir can not only sequestrate CO2 but also raise the oil recovery factor. The performance of chemical sequestration of CO2 depends on the interaction between CO2 solution and reservoir rock. In this paper, we have conducted three different scales of experiments, e.g., microscopic scale, core scale, and time scale, to fully investigate the interaction and resultant variation to mineral content, microscopic structure, porosity, and permeability under reservoir conditions (i.e., reservoir temperature of 90 °C) in Jimusar shale oil formation. The microscopic-scale experiment applied SEM and hyperspectral scanning to obtain microscopic pore throat structure and element distribution before and after soaking the rock in CO2 solution. The core-scale experiment employed XRD to evaluate mineral content variation caused by CO2 solution. Core flooding experiments were conducted to evaluate porosity and permeability variation caused by the dissolution of CO2 solution into the core samples. The third type of experiment was employed to investigate the effect of time sequence on the dissolution, in which the time ranged from 1 day to 14 days continuously. The experimental results indicate that, under Jimsar reservoir conditions, CO2 solution exhibits a relatively robust dissolution capability, causing significant alterations to the properties of the core samples. Specifically, the CO2 solution effectively dissolves carbonate upon contact. Calcite is the primary target for dissolution, followed by dolomite. In the presence of sufficient CO2, complete dissolution of all carbonates is achievable. On a microscopic scale, dissolution primarily occurs in the calcium-rich areas, leaving other regions unaffected. The typical pore size resulting from CO2 solution-induced dissolution ranges from several to dozens of micrometers. This dissolution process significantly enhances both porosity and permeability. For Jimsar shale core samples, porosity experienced an increase of over 20%, and permeability nearly doubled. Under Jimsar reservoir conditions at 90 °C, CO2 solution can consume all carbonates present in core samples within 8 days. The increase in porosity and permeability is rapid during the initial days and stabilizes around the 6th day. Tropical moist forests have been severely affected by natural and anthropogenic disturbances, leading to substantial changes in global carbon cycle and climate. These effects have received great attention in scientific research and debates. Here we review recent progress on drivers and ecological impacts of tropical moist forest disturbances, and their monitoring and modeling methods. Disturbances in tropical moist forests are primarily driven by clearcutting, selective logging, fire, extreme drought, and edge effects. Compound disturbances such as fire and edge effects aggravate degradation in the edge forests. Drought can result in terrestrial carbon loss via physiological impacts. These disturbances lead to direct carbon loss, biophysical warming and microclimate change. Remote sensing observations are promising for monitoring forest disturbances and revealing mechanisms, which will be useful for implementing disturbance processes in dynamic vegetation models. Yet, constrained spatiotemporal coverages and resolutions limit the application of these data in process-based models. It is also challenging to represent physical processes derived from fine-resolution remote sensing data in coarse-resolution models. We highlight the need to continuously integrate new datasets and physical processes in forest disturbance modeling to advance understanding of disturbance patterns and impacts. Interactions and impacts of climate change and anthropogenic activities should also be considered for modeling and assessing feedbacks of tropical moist forest disturbances. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background Generating elite rice varieties with high yield and superior quality is the main goal of rice breeding programs. Key agronomic traits, including grain size and seed germination characteristics, affect the final yield and quality of rice. The RGA1 gene, which encodes the α-subunit of rice G-protein, plays an important role in regulating rice architecture, seed size and abiotic stress responses. However, whether RGA1 is involved in the regulation of rice quality and seed germination traits is still unclear. Results In this study, a rice mutant small and round grain 5 (srg5), was identified in an EMS-induced rice mutant library. Systematic analysis of its major agronomic traits revealed that the srg5 mutant exhibited a semi-dwarf plant height with small and round grain and reduced panicle length. Analysis of the physicochemical properties of rice showed that the difference in rice eating and cooking quality (ECQ) between the srg5 mutant and its wild-type control was small, but the appearance quality was significantly improved. Interestingly, a significant suppression of rice seed germination and shoot growth was observed in the srg5 mutant, which was mainly related to the regulation of ABA metabolism. RGA1 was identified as the candidate gene for the srg5 mutant by BSA analysis. A SNP at the splice site of the first intron disrupted the normal splicing of the RGA1 transcript precursor, resulting in a premature stop codon. Additional linkage analysis confirmed that the target gene causing the srg5 mutant phenotype was RGA1. Finally, the introduction of the RGA1 mutant allele into two indica rice varieties also resulted in small and round rice grains with less chalkiness. Conclusions These results indicate that RGA1 is not only involved in the control of rice architecture and grain size, but also in the regulation of rice quality and seed germination. This study sheds new light on the biological functions of RGA1, thereby providing valuable information for future systematic analysis of the G-protein pathway and its potential application in rice breeding programs. Its rendering speed surpasses ArcGIS Desktop by more than two times, exceeds GeoServer by more than four times, and is over seven times faster than ArcGIS Server. Remote sensing practitioners can quickly and conveniently utilize this system, while providing convenient functionalities that enable remote sensing scientists to independently conduct scientific research and development using this system. Urban fire accident is a common dangerous accident in urban sudden accidents, which threatens the safety of people's lives and property. Taking urban fire accident risk monitoring and early warning capability, fire infrastructure and communication system, fire-fighting and rescue capability, recovery and reconstruction capability as evaluation attributes, the probabilistic double hierarchy linguistic weight Power Heronian mean (PDHLWPHM) operator model and the probabilistic double hierarchy linguistic weight Power geometric Heronian mean (PDHLWPGHM) operator model are constructed for group decision-making. In addition, the idempotence, boundedness and monotonicity of these operators are studied, and the sensitivity of the parameters involved in the operator model is analyzed. Ovarian cancer (OC) is a prevalent type of gynecologic malignancy, and to improve its treatment effectiveness, it is essential to identify new and more potent therapeutic drugs. Magnoflorine is a fundamental chlorine alkaloid with various pharmacological properties, including anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory effects. However, whether Magnoflorine can inhibit the protective autophagy induced by cisplatin by modulating (high-mobility group B1) HMGB1 requires further investigation. This study aims to assess the impact of Magnoflorine on cisplatin resistance in OC. Our findings demonstrate that Magnoflorine enhances the sensitivity of OC cells to cisplatin. Additionally, it promotes apoptosis in cisplatin-resistant OC cells and simultaneously inhibits cisplatin-induced protective autophagy. Mechanistically, Magnoflorine reduces HMGB1 expression in cisplatin-resistant OC cells. Collectively, these results suggest that Magnoflorine has potential as a therapeutic agent for cisplatin-resistant OC in future clinical applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis (HNL) is a self-limited inflammatory disease of unknown pathogenesis. A very small fraction of patients with HNL could develop hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a hyperinflammatory disorder. These patients are diagnosed as HNL with HLH (HNL-HLH). HNL-HLH in the pediatric population has been systemically studied, however, the clinical, laboratory, and radiological features and outcomes of adult patients with HNL-HLH remain to be explored. We aimed to explore the clinical, laboratory, and radiological features and outcomes of adult patients with HNL-HLH. Methods: We collected the clinical data of patients with HNL-HLH admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from October 2010 to June 2015. All the patients underwent lymph node biopsy and have a pathological diagnosis of HNL. The age, gender, clinical presentation, lymph node signs, laboratory findings and imaging data, and pathological findings of the patients were collected. Results: In this study, we reported five adult patients with HNL-HLH. All five patients showed enlarged lymph nodes and prolonged fever. Laboratory findings were consistent with the diagnosis of HLH. 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) showed enlarged lymph nodes with increased FDG uptake and splenic hypermetabolism could be present. All the patients responded well to corticosteroids and had a good prognosis. Two of the five patients were diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus during the follow-up. Conclusions: Our study demonstrated that adult patients with HNL-HLH showed distinct clinical, laboratory, and radiological features. This study aimed to evaluate the expression level of caseins during mastitis of goats. Whole goat caseins were used as primary antigens for mouse immunization. A monoclonal antibody (mAb) named 5B with high specificity to goat αs1-casein was developed. Further results showed that mAb 5B can successfully be applied to western blot and ELISA. In addition, immunofluorescence analysis using this mAb showed increased milk αs1-casein level in mastitis-affected goats. In conclusion, this study has established an effective tool to evaluate the expression level of αs1-casein during mastitis development.

Abstract Red blood cell distribution width (RDW), which measures the range of variation of red blood cell volume, has been explored as a prognostic factor in multiple types of cancer. However, the role of RDW in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), a rare type of non‐Hodgkin lymphoma with poor outcomes, remains to be determined. Therefore, we investigated the prognostic role of RDW in MCL. We found that 21 of 76 MCL patients (27.6%) had an abnormally elevated RDW (>15.7%). Abnormally elevated RDW was significantly associated with presence of B symptoms (P = 0.0020), elevated lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) (P = 0.0010), higher leukocyte count (P = 0.0345), higher simplified Mantle Cell International Prognostic Index (sMIPI) (P = 0.0194), and lower level of hemoglobin (Hb) (P 15.8%) predicted shorter progression‐free survival (PFS) (hazards ratio [HR]: 3.14; P = 0.0005) and shorter overall survival (OS) (HR: 4.04; P

Abstract. Background:. Serum antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) are positive in some patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), but the prognostic value of ANAs remains unknown. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of ANAs as a prognostic factor in CLL. Methods:. This study retrospectively analyzed clinical data from 216 newly diagnosed CLL subjects with ANAs test from 2007 to 2017. Multivariate Cox regression analyses were used to screen the independent prognostic factors related to time to first treatment (TTFT), progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Receiver operator characteristic curves and area under the curve (AUC) were utilized to assess the predictive accuracy of ANAs together with other independent factors for OS. Results:. The incidence of ANAs abnormality at diagnosis was 13.9%. ANAs positivity and TP53 disruption were independent prognostic indicators for OS. The AUC of positive ANAs together with TP53 disruption was 0.766 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.697–0.826), which was significantly larger than that of either TP53 disruption (AUC: 0.706, 95% CI: 0.634–0.772, P = 0.034) or positive ANAs (AUC: 0.595, 95% CI: 0.520–0.668, P

This paper presents a comparison of IRI-2016 model vertical total electron content (VTEC) predictions and the International GNSS Service (IGS) VTEC maps during low and high solar activity, from 2000 to 2017. The comparison is carried out by investigation of the differences between the two data sets of VTEC values from a range of directions, such as all over the globe behavior, latitudinal latitudes as well as latitudinal and longitudinal behavior. The results show that there is a good consistency between IRI-2016 VTEC predictions and the IGS VTEC maps during low solar activity. IRI-2016 model is suitable for the scientific analysis of the general trend of the ionosphere. However, it extremely underestimates VTEC values in low latitudes during high solar activity. Due to the effect of EIA, the large differences are distributed in the low latitudes both in 2009 and 2015. The largest differences are distributed in the northern Indian Ocean and southern Atlantic Ocean according to the comparison of latitudinal and longitudinal behavior. Besides, IRI-2016 model also underestimates the VTEC values over the Pacific Ocean, especially during high solar activity. With the installation of more ground-based and space-based instruments, there is an opportunity for promoting the performance of IRI model in the equatorial ionization anomaly (EIA) region during high solar activity. Dendrostoma was recently proposed in Erythrogloeaceae (Diaporthales, Sordariomycetes), with all known members recorded as being plant pathogenic on economically important tree hosts. During our collections of Dendrostoma species in China, mild to severe canker symptoms were observed on sweet chestnut (Castanea mollissima) and oak (Quercus spp.) trees. Dead and dying plant tissues exhibiting Dendrostoma canker symptoms were sampled for fungal isolation. A total of 37 Dendrostoma isolates were obtained and analysed using morphological characteristics and molecular data (ITS, LSU, RPB2, TEF1-α). Based on these data, 10 novel clades could be distinguished, which also proved to represent morphologically distinct species described here as Dendrostoma aurorae, D. castaneae, D. castaneicola, D. chinense, D. dispersum, D. parasiticum, D. qinlingense, D. quercus, D. shaanxiense and D. shandongense spp. nov. A key to species of the genus is also provided.

Improving feed efficiency is important for decreasing feed cost in poultry production, because feed account for approximately 70% of the total production costs. The selection of feed efficiency may affect other important economic traits. Therefore, the objectives of this present study was to evaluate the relationships of the residual feed intake (RFI) with live body weight, carcass weight, carcass composition, and size of small intestines in a population of F2 Pekin ducks. Nine-hundred and eighty F2 ducks were derived from a cross between 40 Pekin ducks and 10 Mallard ducks. The results showed no significant correlation of RFI with live body weight and eviscerated carcass weight. RFI had negative effects on breast meat weight and gizzard weight. A positive correlation of RFI with abdominal fat weight, skin weight, and jejunum length was detected. Our results indicated that the selection of RFI could improve the feed efficiency of ducks without affecting their carcass compositions.

The performance of a fuel cell stack is affected by the operating temperature of the stack. The thermal management subsystem of a multi-stack fuel cell system (MFCS) is particularly significant for the operating temperature control of each stack in the MFCS. To study the influence of different topologies of a MFCS thermal management subsystem, this paper proposes and establishes two different topologies. Firstly, the integrated topology is proposed. Secondly, seven component models, namely the mixer, thermostat, radiator, tank, pump, bypass value, and proton exchange membrane fuel cell stack temperature models, are described in detail. Finally, the performance of the two topologies of the MFCS thermal management subsystem under two working conditions, steady (200 A) and variable (China heavy-duty commercial test cycle, C-WTVC), is compared. Furthermore, there are two evaluating indicators, including the stability duration and deviation of the operating temperatures of the single stack in the MFCS. Results show that when the MFCS operates under steady working conditions, the integrated topology is superior in operating temperature control accuracy (ΔT<0.5 K), while the distributed topology is superior in the adjustment process (t ≤ 100 s). Moreover, when the MFCS operates under variable working conditions, the distributed topology is superior in operating temperature control accuracy.

Semantic segmentation of remotely sensed imagery is a basic task for many applications, such as forest monitoring, cloud detection, and land-use planning. Many state-of-the-art networks used for this task are based on RGB image datasets and, as such, prefer three-band images as their input data. However, many remotely sensed images contain more than three spectral bands. Although it is technically possible to feed multispectral images directly to those networks, poor segmentation accuracy was often obtained. To overcome this issue, the current image dimension reduction methods are either to use feature extraction or to select an optimal combination of three bands through different trial processes. However, it is well understood that the former is often comparatively less effective, because it is not optimized towards segmentation accuracy, while the latter is less efficient due to repeated trial selections of three bands for the optimal combination. Therefore, it is meaningful to explore alternative methods that can utilize multiple spectral bands efficiently in the state-of-the-art networks for semantic segmentation of similar accuracy as the trial selection approach. In this study, a hot-swappable stem structure (LC-Net) is proposed to linearly compress the input bands to fit the input preference of typical networks. For the three commonly used network structures tested on the RIT-18 dataset (having six spectral bands), the approach proposed was found to be an equivalently effective but much more efficient alternative to the trial selection approach.

Hybrid rice technology has been used for more than 50 years, and eating and cooking quality (ECQ) has been a major focus throughout this period. Waxy (Wx) and alkaline denaturation (ALK) genes have received attention owing to their pivotal roles in determining rice characteristics. However, despite significant effort, the ECQ of restorer lines (RLs) has changed very little. By contrast, obvious changes have been seen in inbred rice varieties (IRVs), and the ECQ of IRVs is influenced by Wx, which reduces the proportion of Wxa and increases the proportion of Wxb, leading to a decrease in amylose content (AC) and an increase in ECQ. Meanwhile, ALK is not selected in the same way. We investigated Wx alleles and AC values of sterile lines of female parents with the main mating combinations in widely used areas. The results show that almost all sterile lines were Wxa-type with a high AC, which may explain the low ECQ of hybrid rice. Analysis of hybrid rice varieties and RLs in the last 5 years revealed serious homogenisation among hybrid rice varieties.

Quercus schottkyana is a dominant species of oak in the Asian evergreen broad-leaved forests in southwestern China but seedlings are uncommon and recruitment is rare. Annual acorn production by Q. schottkyana is variable and the acorns are exposed to a series of mortality risks. Understanding the factors that limit recruitment of the oak requires knowledge of the oak's life cycle from acorn production to germination and seedling establishment. In this study, we first tested the effects of acorn density on establishment of seedlings by placing batches of acorns at different densities throughout the study area. Second, we tested the effects of herbivores on seedling survival by erecting fences around both natural and transplanted seedling populations. Our results show that even though the rate of seedling establishment increases as acorn density increases (for 32–8000 acorns∙m−2), survival rates of seedlings in the field were generally low (0–0.6%). We show that seedling recruitment of Q. schottkyana is mainly limited to the acorn stage where 88% of the acorns died from the combined effects of desiccation and predation by weevils (Curculio) and bark beetles (Coccotrypes sp.). Herbivory results in the death of some seedlings and consequently also affects the recruitment of seedlings of Q. schottkyana. Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia is one of the most common types of adult leukaemia. Cancer-related systemic inflammation response has been characterized to correlate with therapeutic outcome in patients with cancer. The C-reactive protein-to-albumin (CRP/ALB) ratio (CAR), which is an inflammatory marker, has been reported as a novel prognostic factor in several cancers. The aim of our study was to evaluate the prognostic value of the CAR in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). We retrospectively reviewed the clinical characteristics of 322 newly diagnosed CLL patients, investigated the correlations among pretreatment CAR, treatment-free survival (TFS) and overall survival (OS), assessed the prognostic effect of the CAR to compare with other inflammation-related prognostic index by the area under the curve (AUC), and combined CAR and CLL-international prognostic index (CLL-IPI) together to improve the current prognostic system. The results showed that CAR was an independent prognostic factor for OS. Furthermore, the predictive and discriminatory capacity of CLL-IPI together with CAR level was superior to that of CLL-IPI alone for OS. In conclusion, serum CRP and ALB levels are both simple and easily accessible parameters, whose ratio CAR may be good candidates for predicting prognosis in the future clinical practice of CLL.

IntroductionPrimary breast marginal zone lymphoma (PBMZL) is a rare occurrence and less is known about its characteristics, treatments, and outcomes.MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed 370 cases of early-stage PBMZL from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. Statistical analyses were performed to describe clinical features, determine prognostic factors, and compare different therapeutic strategies.ResultsAt a median follow-up of 68.5 months, the 5-year overall survival (OS) and disease-specific survival (DSS) rate were 81.2 and 95.4%, respectively. We divided the cohort into four treatment groups and compared their characteristics and survival: radiotherapy (RT) ± surgery (Sx) (n = 142, 38.4%), Sx alone (n = 71, 19.2%), any chemotherapy (CT) (n = 63, 17.0%), and none of the above (n = 94, 25.4%). Age of onset and laterality of lesions tended to relate to the choice of different treatments. Multivariate Cox analysis showed that advanced age (>60 years), concomitant tumor, and any CT (vs RT ± Sx) predicted poorer OS, while for DSS, there was no meaningful indicator (P > 0.05). Patients aged >60 years or treated with any CT seemed to have shorter DSS, but the difference only approached statistical significance. Then we applied a propensity score-matched analysis to demonstrate that neither RT- nor Sx-containing therapy could bring a better OS or DSS. The competing risk model suggested that CT was the only contributor to higher PBMZL-specific mortality.ConclusionOur results show an indolent behavior of early-stage PBMZL with long-term survival. Conventional oncological treatments fail to bring survival benefits; especially CT is detrimental to survival, suggesting that observation may be advisable in the management of early-stage PBMZL, and further research on novel targeted agents is warranted for patients in need.

Objective: Elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is an established risk factor for ischemic stroke; however, whether LDL-C affects the platelet deformation function in the peripheral blood circulation in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is unknown. The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between LDL-C and platelet distribution width (PDW) in AIS patients.Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional hospitalized-based study of consecutive 438 patients with AIS within 24 h. Blood samples were collected upon admission and prior to drug administration, and LDL-C and PDW (a parameter that reflects the heterogeneity of platelet volume) were assessed. The relationship between LDL-C and PDW were analyzed by linear curve fitting analyses. Crude and adjusted beta coefficients of LDL-C for PDW with 95% confidence intervals were analyzed using multivariate-adjusted linear regression models.Results: The PDW was significantly higher in the high LDL-C group compared with those in the normal LDL-C group (16.28 ± 0.37 fl vs. 16.08 ± 0.37 fl, p < 0.001). Adjusted smoothed plots suggested that there are linear relationships between LDL-C and PDW, and the Pearson's correlation coefficient (95%) was 0.387 (0.304–0.464, p < 0.001). The beta coefficients (95% CI) between LDL-C and PDW were 0.15 (0.12–0.18, p < 0.001) and 0.14 (0.11–0.18, p < 0.001), respectively, in AIS patients before and after adjusting for potential confounders.Conclusion: Our study suggested that the elevated LDL-C level was related to increased PDW among AIS patients.

Abstract The industrial application of lithium metal anode requires less side reaction between active lithium and electrolyte, which demands the sustainability of the electrolyte‐induced solid‐electrolyte interface. Here, through a new diluted lithium difluoro(oxalato)borate‐based (LiDFOB) high concentration electrolyte system, it is found that the oxidation behavior of aggregated LiDFOB salt has a great impact on solid‐electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation and Li reversibility. Under the operation window of Cu/LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 full cells (rather than Li/Cu configuration), a polyether/coordinated borate containing solid‐electrolyte interphase with inner Li2O crystalline can be observed with the increasing concentration of salt, which can be ascribed to the reaction between aggregated electron‐deficient borate species and electron‐rich alkoxide SEI components. The high Li reversibility (99.34%) and near‐theoretical lithium deposition enable the stable cycling of LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2/Li cells (N/P < 2, 350 Wh kg−1) under high cutoff voltage condition of 4.6 V and lean electrolyte condition (E/C ≈ 3.2 g Ah−1).

The larva of Taeniidae species can infect a wide range of mammals, causing major public health and food safety hazards worldwide. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP), a biodiversity hotspot, is home to many species of rodents, which act as the critical intermediate hosts of many Taeniidae species. In this study, we identified two new larvae of Taenia spp., named T. caixuepengi and T. tianguangfui, collected from the plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae) and the Qinghai vole (Neodon fuscus), respectively, in QTP, and their mitochondrial genomes were sequenced and annotated. Phylogenetic trees based on the mitochondrial genome showed that T. caixuepengi has the closest genetic relationship with T. pisiformis, while T. tianguangfui was contained in a monophyletic group with T. crassiceps, T. twitchelli, and T. martis. Biogeographic scenarios analysis based on split time speculated that the speciation of T. caixuepengi (∼5.49 Mya) is due to host switching caused by the evolution of its intermediate host. Although the reason for T. tianguangfui (∼13.11 Mya) speciation is not clear, the analysis suggests that it should be infective to a variety of other rodents following the evolutionary divergence time of its intermediate host and the range of intermediate hosts of its genetically close species. This study confirms the species diversity of Taeniidae in the QTP, and speculates that the uplift of the QTP has not only a profound impact on the biodiversity of plants and animals, but also that of parasites.
