Plant interactions are among the fundamental processes shaping the structure and functioning of ecosystems as they modulate competitive dynamics. However, the connection between the response of individual growth to neighbours and to environmental conditions and the mechanisms determining interactions in monospecific stands remain poorly understood. Here, we followed a phenotypic-based approach to disentangle the effect of plant size, neighbourhood interactions and microhabitat effects on Pinus sylvestris growth and traits, as well as their spatial variation of growth. We mapped all adult trees (1002 pines) in a 2 ha stand and measured their height, DBH and crown projection. For each individual, we assessed its growth and a competition index in relation to the closest neighbours. Soil chemical and physical properties and ground cover were also measured in a grid within the stand. We analysed the effects of tree size, neighbour competition and microhabitat variation on tree growth with a linear model. We also used spatial mark-correlation functions to explore the spatial dependence of tree age, secondary growth and phenotypic traits. Our results showed that trees with close neighbours displayed lower growth rates, whilst individuals with larger growths appeared scattered throughout the stand. Moreover, we found that growth depended on competition, tree height and crown area while tree growth poorly correlated with age or microhabitat conditions. Our findings highlight the importance of forest structure, in regulating inter-tree competition and growth in a Mediterranean pure stand and they provide insight into the causes and consequences of intraspecific variation in this system., Open Access funding provided thanks to the CRUE-CSIC agreement with Springer Nature. Understanding patterns of habitat natural recovery after human-made disturbances is critical for the conservation of ecosystems under high environmental stress, such as drylands. In particular, the unassisted establishment of nonvascular plants such as biological soil crusts or biocrust communities (e.g., soil lichens, mosses and cyanobacteria) in newly formed habitats is not yet fully understood. However, the potential of biocrusts to improve soil structure and function at the early stages of succession and promote ecosystem recovery is enormous. In this study, we evaluated the capacity of lichen biocrusts to spontaneously establish and develop on road slopes in a Mediterranean shrubland. We also compared taxonomic and functional diversity of biocrusts between road slopes and natural habitats in the surroundings. Biocrust richness and cover, species composition, and functional structure were measured in 17 road slopes (nine roadcuts and eight embankments) along a 13 km highway stretch. Topography, soil properties and vascular plant communities of road slopes were also characterized. We used Kruskal–Wallis tests and applied redundancy analysis (RDA) to test the effect of environmental scenario (road slopes vs. natural habitat) and other local factors on biocrust features. We found that biocrusts were common in road slopes after ∼20 years of construction with no human assistance needed. However, species richness and cover were still lower than in natural remnants. Also, functional structure was quite similar between roadcuts (i.e., after soil excavation) and natural remnants, and topography and soil properties influenced species composition while environmental scenario type and vascular plant cover did not. These findings further support the idea of biocrusts as promising restoration tools in drylands and confirm the critical role of edaphic factors in biocrust establishment and development in land-use change scenarios.

El lenguaje de Heidegger ha sido foco de muchas críticas por su carácter críptico y en ocasiones esotérico, por su violencia semántica y su excesivo afán de autenticidad, por sus arcaísmos y sus heterodoxas reconstrucciones etimológicas, por sus innovaciones terminológicas y su falta de coherencia interna. En este sentido, el lenguaje heideggeriano presenta una dificultad y un reto a la tarea del traducir, una dificultad que aumenta considerablemente en el caso del lenguaje filosófico y poético. El presente artículo se estructura en dos partes: por una, se ofrece una breve presentación de las peculiaridades del lenguaje heideggeriano y, por otra, se muestran algunas de sus aportaciones al campo de la traductología.

Las comunidades de plantas de alta montaña mediterránea constituyen uno de los grupos más vulnerables al cambio global. El ascenso del matorral motivado por el cambio global ocasiona una reducción del hábitat disponible y una amenaza a su persistencia. En este trabajo presentamos los estudios realizados por nuestro grupo de investigación en los pastos psicroxerófilos de la Sierra de Guadarrama para caracterizar sus respuestas al cambio global y evaluar su grado de vulnerabilidad. Nuestros resultados confirman la vulnerabilidad de la alta montaña mediterránea al cambio global aunque las respuestas de cada especie pueden ser muy diferentes. Estas diferencias también se reflejan en el nivel poblacional donde las respuestas pueden variar notablemente dentro de una misma especie. En el nivel comunidad el proceso de pérdida de hábitat y de matorralización amenaza a todo el ecosistema. Plant communities of Mediterranean high-mountain pastures are one of the most vulnerable groups to global change. The elevational shift towards higher altitude experimented by shrubs is causing a reduction of the habitat available for the pasture and threatening its persistence. In this work we present the studies carried out by our research group on the psycroxerophyllous pastures of Sierra de Guadarrama to characterize their responses to global change and assess their vulnerability. Our results confirm the high vulnerability of the Mediterranean high mountain vegetation in spite of the fact that each species has specific responses. These differences appear also scaled up to the population and community levels. An escalator effect together with an intense encroachment is posing these ecosystems to the verge of extinction.

A data set of beech (Fagus sylvatica) forests in the Basque Country (Northern Spain), including biotic (floristic releves) and environmental data (pH, organic matter, slope, altitude, rock cover), is analyzed in order to describe the relationships between understorey composition and environmental parameters. An ordination technique (DCA) is used to display the floristic gradients, and the interpretation of the floristic space in environmental terms is carried out by a spatial analysis technique (kriging). The composition of the beech forest understorey responds to a complex environmental gradient in the study area. Forests growing on acid substrata differ markedly from those growing on soils with higher pH, as the sharp transition between the pH 5 and 6 isolines reflects. When pH values exceed 6, organic matter content becomes the most important factor explaining the vegetation pattern and the rate of change is greater as organic matter content tends to change at a smaller scale than sample size and, as a consequence many transitional forms are found.

Anti-COVID-19 hyperimmune immunoglobulin (hIG) can provide standardized and controlled antibody content. Data from controlled clinical trials using hIG for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19 outpatients have not been reported. We assessed the safety and efficacy of subcutaneous anti-COVID-19 hyperimmune immunoglobulin 20% (C19-IG20%) compared to placebo in preventing development of symptomatic COVID-19 in asymptomatic individuals with SARS-CoV-2 infection. We did a multicentre, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, in asymptomatic unvaccinated adults (≥18 years of age) with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection within 5 days between April 28 and December 27, 2021. Participants were randomly assigned (1:1:1) to receive a blinded subcutaneous infusion of 10 mL with 1 g or 2 g of C19-IG20%, or an equivalent volume of saline as placebo. The primary endpoint was the proportion of participants who remained asymptomatic through day 14 after infusion. Secondary endpoints included the proportion of individuals who required oxygen supplementation, any medically attended visit, hospitalisation, or ICU, and viral load reduction and viral clearance in nasopharyngeal swabs. Safety was assessed as the proportion of patients with adverse events. The trial was terminated early due to a lack of potential benefit in the target population in a planned interim analysis conducted in December 2021. registry: . 461 individuals (mean age 39.6 years [SD 12.8]) were randomized and received the intervention within a mean of 3.1 (SD 1.27) days from a positive SARS-CoV-2 test. In the prespecified modified intention-to-treat analysis that included only participants who received a subcutaneous infusion, the primary outcome occurred in 59.9% (91/152) of participants receiving 1 g C19-IG20%, 64.7% (99/153) receiving 2 g, and 63.5% (99/156) receiving placebo (difference in proportions 1 g C19-IG20% vs. placebo, −3.6%; 95% CI -14.6% to 7.3%, p = 0.53; 2 g C19-IG20% vs placebo, 1.1%; −9.6% to 11.9%, p = 0.85). None of the secondary clinical efficacy endpoints or virological endpoints were significantly different between study groups. Adverse event rate was similar between groups, and no severe or life-threatening adverse events related to investigational product infusion were reported. Our findings suggested that administration of subcutaneous human hyperimmune immunoglobulin C19-IG20% to asymptomatic individuals with SARS-CoV-2 infection was safe but did not prevent development of symptomatic COVID-19. .

La presente investigación tiene como principal propósito discutir con Heidegger el lugar de Spinoza en la historia de la filosofía occidental. En contra de lo que tradicionalmente se ha pensado, defendemos aquí dos puntos de convergencia entre ambos autores: el giro ético de la ontología y la comprensión ontológica de los afectos. The main purpose of this research is to discuss with Heidegger the place of Spinoza in the history of Western philosophy. Contrary to what has traditionally been thought of, we defend here two points of convergence between the two authors: the ethical turn of the ontology and the ontological understanding of affections.

This thesis consists of an ontological investigation of phenomenological-hermeneutic character of the work Sein und Zeit (Being and time) of Martin Heidegger. Through a set of meditations with this great work, is come to the experience of the sense of Being with which it is observed its ontological viability. So, we understand that the experience of the sense of Being is the realization of the existential analytics (ontology of the Dasein) through which the fundamental ontology is consumed. However, the fullness of the successful culmination of the Heideggerian ontological project does not lie in the experimental attainment of the sense of Being, but in going beyond it, from and in it, accessing the same Being. Therefore, the consummation of the experience of the sense of being (the realization of the fundamental ontology) is shown to us as the income in the same revelation of Being as nothing and protooriginal time from and in the immersion in the sense of Being as temporality ecstatic-horizontal Aquesta tesi consisteix en una investigació ontològica de caràcter fenomenològic-hermenèutic de l’obra Sein und Zeit (Ser i temps) de Martin Heidegger. A través d’un conjunt de meditacions amb aquesta obra magna s’arriba a l’experiència del sentit del ser i es constata la seva viabilitat ontològica. Així doncs, entenem que l’experiència del sentit del ser és la realització de l’analítica existenciària (ontologia del Dasein) a través de la qual es consuma l’ontologia fonamental. La presente tesis tiene como objetivo mostrar que la creación es un disposición ontológica, la cual resulta más adecuada para pensar en la existencia como cuidado, que el comprender templado; puesto que incorpora el pathos como condición estructural de su articulación y aperturidad. Para fundamentar mi propuesta me baso principalmente en la filosofía de Jean-Luc Nancy, sobre todo el concepto de creación de mundo, y el pensamiento tardío de Heidegger. Primero, problematizo el rol preponderante que tiene la significatividad en Ser y tiempo, bajo su articulación en las estructuras del para-qué y algo como algo, en la determinación del lenguaje y el ser-en-el-mundo. En este punto, expongo la necesidad de desarrollar una interpretación del lenguaje distinta a la de Ser y tiempo, ya que ésta centra su atención sólo en la dóxa la acepción pragmática del lenguaje, y por ello, restringe una dilucidación del pathos que implica la aperturidad. Entonces, propongo el concepto de parádoxa, como estructura que describe el modo en el que acontece nuestra aperturidad como pathos del lógos. Sostengo que esta estructura está siempre presente en el acontecimiento del sentido que comporta nuestra existencia. Con base en el marco teórico de Nancy y Kierkegaard, entonces, afirmo que la resolución heideggeriana no es una apropiación del sentido, sino más bien una expropiación. Esta reflexión me indica que el cuidado no es sólo práxis, sino también constituye un pathos existencial. Este pathos es el auténtico modo del ser-con, en términos tanto de la pasibilidad de sentido que implica el cuerpo, como el sentido inteligible que nos está dado como partage (reparto, partición y participación). Este desarrollo me conduce a afirmar que la existencia es creación de mundo. Después emprendo una remodulación del ser-en-el-mundo, desde la cual argumento que se puede considerar que el encuentro cotidiano con los entes, en la medida en que es creación de mundo, constituye un modo positivo del cuidado, el cual acontece en el ser-a-la-mano como ecotecnia, en el ser-ante como coligación de la cuaternidad, y en el ser-con como literatura, en tanto que la expresión del sentido desobrado de la comunidad. A partir de este desarrollo afirmo que el sentido auténtico del sí-mismo es de origen impropio, y de hecho, no deviene de una retirada del otro, sino de una pasión que nos abre a la vulnerabilidad del ser-con como estructura regente del sentido. Esta pasión nos muestra que nuestro sí-mismo ya está atravesado y conformado por la pluralidad del sentido, de modo tal que el sentido singular ya es plural. Con esta meditación se abre una alternativa para pensar que el cuidado de los otros tanto entes como Dasein constituye una experiencia fundamental, en la cual padecemos nuestra responsabilidad existencial que es responsabilidad por el sentido. Finalmente desarrollo esta alternativa situándola en el ejemplo de la escritura literaria, puesto que ésta nos muestra el modo en que acontece la parádoxa como lógos del pathos del pathos. Así, sostengo que la experiencia del lenguaje es una paradoja que nos dispone al cuidado del mundo como creación lingüística. Para pensar esto analizo el poema de Beckett “Comment dire”, cuyo examen nos señala las operaciones lingüísticas involucradas en la experiencia de la escritura, que acontece tanto en la lectura como en la creación propiamente dicha. A partir de esta consideración concluyo que la escritura literaria tiene el potencial, como un lógos-pathos que demanda el cuidado del lenguaje, de disponernos a la experiencia de la libertad y responsabilidad ontológicas, lo que nos motiva a procurar una transformación existencial a través de una nueva y originaria creación del mundo., This dissertation aims to demonstrate that creation is an ontological disposition, which is more apt to think the existence as care, than the tuned understanding, given that it incorporates the pathos as structural condition of its articulation and openness. In order to fundament this proposal, I based my approach mostly in Jean-Luc Nancy’s philosophy, especially his concept of creation of the world, and the late thinking of Heidegger. First, I problematize the preponderant roll significance has in Being and Time, under its articulation trough the structures for-wich and as, which determinates the language and the being-in-the-world. In this regard, I explain the need to develop another interpretation of language instead of that of Being and Time, because it focuses its attention into doxa the pragmatic manner of language, and therefore restricts consideration of the pathos implied in the openness. Then, I propose the concept of paradoxa, the way in which our openness happens as pathos of logos. I support that actually the paradoxa is always present in the occurrence of sense that our existence entails. Based on the theoretical frame of Nancy and Kierkegaard, then I settle that the heideggerian resoluteness isn’t an appropriation of meaning, but an expropriation instead. This reflection indicates me that care is not only praxis, but it is also an existential pathos. This pathos is the authentic way of the being-with, as well as the being-passible of sense implied in body, as the intelligible sense that has been given to us in terms of partage (sharing, participation and partition). This development drives me out to affirm that existence is creation of the world. After I undertake a remodulation of the being-in-the-world, from which I argue that it’s possible to consider that the daily encounter with entities, to the extent that it is creation of the world, constitutes a positive way of care, which happens in the being-at-hand, like echotechnics, in the being-present-at-hand, like the colligation of the Fourfold, and in the being-with, as literature, as long as it is the expression of the inoperative and un-designed sense of the community. Departing from this, I assert that the authentic sense of selfhood is originally improper and actually it doesn’t come as a product of retreat of others, but it comes from a passion that opens our vulnerability to the being-with as the main structure of sense. This passion shows us that our selfhood is already crossed and conformed by the plurality of sense, in such a way that singular sense is already plural. This meditation unfolds an alternative to think the care for others Dasein and entities is a fundamental experience, where we endure our existential freedom and responsibility for the sense. Finally, I explore this possibility focused on literary writing. It displays us the way in which paradoxa occurs as logos of pathos of pathos. Thus, I argue that language experience is a paradox that disposes us to the care of the world as linguistic creation. For this purpose, I analyze the poem “Comment dire” of Beckett. Its exam points out the linguistic operations involved in writing experience, which happens as well in reading as in creation itself. Departing this consideration, I conclude that literary writing has the potential, as logos-pathos that demands caring of language, to disposes us to the experience of ontological freedom and responsibility, which drives us to achieve an existential transformation trough an original and new creation of the world.

El objetivo de esta tesis es elaborar una interpretación fenomenológica de la enfermedad a la luz del denominado «primer Heidegger» y demostrar que la enfermedad es, al igual que la angustia, un modo eminente de apertura. Partiendo de una afirmación de Heidegger en Ser y tiempo, donde sugiere que tanto la enfermedad como la muerte pueden ser considerados existenciarios [existenzial], y del hecho de que nunca llegó a desarrollar sus ideas en torno a la primera como sí lo hizo con la angustia ante la muerte, se ha visto una oportunidad en esta afirmación para leer la enfermedad desde un punto de vista ontológico. Por ello, este estudio propone una analogía estructural entre la enfermedad y la angustia de manera que se asegura que 1) la investigación se lleva a cabo en el marco de la analítica del Dasein y 2) que la interpretación de la enfermedad se centra especialmente en la teoría de la propiedad [Eigentlichkeit] del Dasein, en la medida en que el análisis heideggeriano de la angustia remite a dicha teoría. La investigación se inicia con un primer acercamiento entre la enfermedad y los ejes de la fenomenología hermenéutica para presentar y desarrollar así la afirmación de Heidegger antes mencionada. Posteriormente, se analizan algunas ideas sobre la enfermedad formuladas en el contexto de investigaciones afines a Heidegger con el propósito de discernir cuáles podrían incluirse en esta fenomenología de la enfermedad. Durante el desarrollo de la investigación se ha podido comprobar cómo y por qué la enfermedad, del mismo modo que la angustia, se ha convertido en un estado que hay que encubrir y disimular. Al mismo tiempo se han observado distinciones ontológicas entre la enfermedad, la muerte, la angustia y el dolor que demuestran que la enfermedad se caracteriza por remitir a una peculiar experiencia del cuerpo. Por ello, se concluye que la enfermedad sirve para introducir y, en consecuencia, elucidar el fenómeno de la corporeidad bajo la óptica de la analítica del Dasein; algo que por cierto Heidegger rehusó hacer en Ser y tiempo. Una vez obtenido el estatuto ontológico de la corporeidad, se emprende la tarea de establecer los términos a partir de los cuales la enfermedad puede ser interpretada como un modo eminente de apertura y, en esa dirección, se sientan unas bases para pensar cómo la enfermedad, en un sentido parejo a la angustia, conduce a un modo propio de ser sí-mismo que, a diferencia de aquélla, tiene en el cuerpo una pauta incontrovertible. Con esto, el análisis permite hacer una relectura de la teoría de la propiedad del Dasein no tanto con base en la temporalidad como en la espacialidad. Por último, se desarrolla una crítica de las formas contemporáneas de encubrimiento y disimulación de la enfermedad a fin de acentuar el carácter eminentemente aperiente de este estado., This dissertation attempts to elaborate a phenomenological interpretation of illness in the light of the so-called «first Heidegger» and probe that illness is, like angst, an eminent mode of disclosedness. In Being and Time, Heidegger suggests that illness as well as death could be conceived as existential [existenzial] phenomenon yet he never resolved the question related to illness. Considering this afirmation as an opportunity to read illness in an ontological way, this study proposes an estructural analogy between illness and angst in order to ensure at least two things: 1) that the dissertation is being acomplished in the Dasein’s analytic framework and 2) that the intepretation of illness is focused in the theory of the Dasein’s authenticity [Eigentlichkeit] inasmuch as the heideggerian analysis of angst refers to this theory. In the first place, the research begins moving illness closer to the axes of the hermeneutic fenomenology so the aforementioned suggestion made by Heidegger can be introduced and developed in the study. Second, some ideas about illness formulated in different investigations related to the German philosopher are considered in this work to analyze which ones could fulfill the approach to a phenomenology of illness. In the development of this investigation, it is possible to see why and how illness, as well as angst, has become an state that we need to cover up and dissimulate. At the same time, we observe some ontological differences between illness, death, angst and pain that probe that illness refers to an exclusive and unique experience of the body. With that, it is possible to conclude that the body can be elucidated from the perspective of Dasein’s analytic, an opportunity that Heidegger neglected in Being and Time. Once that the ontological status of the embodiment is obtained, the next step is to establish the terms from which illness can be understood as an eminent mode of disclosedness and, in this direction, we set the basis to question how illness leads to an authentic self that, unlike angst, finds in the body an undeniable pattern. Finally this dissertation give us the possibility of reading the theory of the Dasein’s authenticity not only based in the temporality but in the spaciality. In order to emphasize the disclosed capacity of illness, a critical analysis of the conteporary forms of cover up and dissimulation of illness has been included.

En esta tesis se recurre a las teorías de Martin Heidegger y Manuel Castells para estudiar como el concepto de tiempo y nuestra conciencia del mismo se ven afectados por el creciente desarrollo de las tecnologías digitales. En concreto, se intenta discutir y analizar las relaciones entre tiempo y tecnología. En primer lugar, se ofrece una revisión histórica del desarrollo del concepto de tiempo. La historia muestra que nuestra conciencia del tiempo está cambiando en la era digital con la irrupción de las nuevas tecnologías. Nuestro destino está marcado por el “engranaje” de la tecnología. No podemos evitar el peligro de la tecnología, pero ella misma también encierra la posibilidad de la salvación. Ese es nuestro destino. Incluso si intentáramos evitar la “tecnología digital”, nos encontraríamos con otros tipos de tecnología. En cualquier caso, parece que la tecnología digital es una realidad inevitable. No podemos evitarla. Así pues, tenemos que examinarla y examinarnos a nosotros mismo para no caer prisioneros de un “tiempo atemporal”. El concepto de tiempo –entendido bien como una afección interior y subjetiva bien como una realidad objetiva y mensurable– se ha transformado en la sociedad red. En opinión de Heidegger, la temporalidad constituye el ser de la existencia humana (BT, 457). A pesar de ello consideramos que el tiempo del reloj es el tiempo real. Según la definición heideggeriana del concepto de tiempo, nuestra experiencia cotidiana del tiempo no aprehende el sentido del tiempo auténtico. La vida humana se encuentra absorbida por sus rutinas diarias. Nuestras acciones se miden como objetos que están a nuestra disposición. Pero tanto la medición como el tiempo del reloj se fundan, según Heidegger, en la temporalidad originaria y antológicamente constitutiva de la existencia humana (BT, 470). En palabras del propio autor, hay un “tiempo impropio” y un “tiempo propio”. Cuando medimos las actividades de nuestra existencia cotidiana, el tiempo queda reducido a una línea. Manuel Castells sugiere que vivimos en una especie de tiempo red o, utilizando sus propias palabras, en un “tiempo atemporal” que se inscribe en el espacio de los flujos. Siguiendo la idea del “tiempo atemporal” de Castells se analiza el fenómeno del tiempo en la era digital y se discute el concepto de “tiempo atemporal” describiendo la compresión del tiempo y la ruptura del ritmo. Este trabajo defiende la tesis de que el concepto de tiempo y la conciencia human del tiempo han cambiado con las tecnologías digitales. Asimismo, mientras que las tecnologías digitales transforman el tiempo, este es, a su vez, usado, administrado, percibido y disciplinado. El propósito último de esta investigación es mostrar que el tiempo-red de las tecnologías digitales juega un papel más importante que el tiempo real; un papel que siempre esta interrelacionado con la obsesión tecnológica de la aceleración del tiempo. De hecho, el tiempo real es un concepto poco apropiado para comprender la nueva realidad del tiempo-red y de las posibilidades de este nuevo concepto de tiempo en la era digital., In this thesis, we use Martin Heidegger and Manuel Castells’ theories to study how the concepts of time and our awareness of time are affected by the development of digital technologies. We try to discuss the relations between time and technology. Firstly, we give a historical review on the development of the concepts of time. The history indicates that our consciousness of time is changing in digital age with the development of technology. It is our destiny to meet technology; we are in the technology of “enframing”. Both danger and power saving are coming together with modern technology, it’s impossible to avoid. Even if we are not meeting “digital technology”, there will be “other” kinds of technologies waiting for us. It seems that digital technology is an inevitable product; we cannot refuse it, so we have to do a self-examination so that been lost in the “timeless time” is the foregone conclusion. The conception of time either as an inner and subjective affection or as an objective and measurable reality has changed in the network society. In Heidegger’s opinion, temporality is the “meaning” of Dasein’s Being. When we treat time as a line, the number is related to the picture of movement. While we accturelly know that the clock is not the time, it is the symbol of time. Dasein’s temporality is “primordial time” (BT, 457). In Heidegger’s definition of the concept of time, our everyday experience of time is not the authentic time; but the time which filled the everydayness. Dasein is absorbed in its dealings with the ready-to-hand in everydayness. We apply a present-at-hand standard of measurement to a present-at-hand thing that we are measuring. Both time-reckoning and the clock are founded upon the temporality of Dasein, which may be shown entity ontologically (BT, 470). In Heidegger’s words there are “wrong time” and “right time”: right or wrong time to do things in our everyday. As time is measured by human beings’ everyday life, the time line is becomes meanful. Manuel Castells suggests that we are living in a network time or in his words a “timeless time” that belongs to the space of flow. Following Castells’ theory of timeless time, we analyze the phenomenon of time in the digital age, and discuss the concept of timeless time by describing time compression and rhythm breaking. The results obtained in this thesis are that the concept of time and human awareness of time has changed by the digital technology. While, on the contrary, digital technology is transforming time, time is used, managed, perceived, and disciplined. The aim of this research is to show the fact that the network time plays a wider role than the real time, but it is always interrelated to the technical obsession with temporal acceleration. Actually, the real time is a fundamental misnomer; the understanding of the network time starts much more temporal possibilities.

La presente tesis doctoral tiene como objetivo llevar a cabo un estudio exhaustivo del rol de la phantasía en el tránsito de la fenomenología como psicología descriptiva en las Investigaciones lógicas hasta su formulación como filosofía trascendental en Ideas I. A lo largo de esta investigación, defiendo la idea de que el tránsito de una fenomenología de corte inmanentista, como la practicada en las Investigaciones lógicas, hacia una fenomenología trascendental cabe ser leída como la búsqueda de un suelo absolutamente evidente que dé cuenta de una distinción definitiva entre percepción y phantasía. Y si en un primer momento la primacía de la percepción sobre lo imaginario se sostenía sobre la base de un suelo sufragado por una herencia empirista, la progresiva ganancia de legitimidad de las presentificaciones intuitivas se explica por el sucesivo debilitamiento del primero. Considero que un momento clave de esta evolución se da alrededor de los años 1905-1907. La necesidad de dotar de un fundamento último a la distinción entre percepción y phantasía conduce a Husserl a una profunda revisión de su propio método. Es en este contexto en el que el “descubrimiento” de la reducción fenomenológica le permite abandonar definitivamente el modelo de las presentificaciones intuitivas fundado sobre la conciencia de imagen [Bildbewusstsein] para dar lugar al modelo definitivo, que las considera como una modificación reproductiva particular (“de punta a punta”). Son tres los elementos centrales sobre los que Husserl articula su propuesta: la reflexión y su eficacia para incorporar el “yo-imaginario” a la propia noción (ampliada) de conciencia; la phantasía como reproducción de nexos posicionales inactuales; y las posiciones dóxicas inherentes a la phantasía y sus respectiva neutralización. Con ello, Husserl introduce hacia 1912 (y en adelante) la posibilidad de una crítica del conocimiento que permita una mezcla entre percepción y phantasía; fundamental para el análisis eidético de cualquier ámbito de la realidad., This Dissertation aims to conduct a comprehensive study on the role of phantasy within the transit from phenomenology as descriptive psychology, as exposed in the Logical Investigations, to its formulation as a transcendental philosophy in Ideas I. Throughout this research, I defend the idea that this transition from a immanentist to a transcendental phenomenology can be read as the seeking of an ultimate foundation to give account for a definite distinction between perception and phantasy. And if at the very first the primacy of perception over imagination was held on the basis of its empiricist heritage, the progressive gain of legitimacy of the latter, the intuitive presentifications, can be explained by the successive weakening of the former. I consider that a key moment in this evolution occurs around the years 1905-1907. The need to provide a final basis for the distinction between perception and phantasy led Husserl to a thorough review of its own method. It is in this context that the "discovery" of the phenomenological reduction allows him to abandon the model of intuitive presentificaciones based on the image consciousness [Bildbewusstsein] in order to achieve the definitive model, which consider them as a particular reproductive modification (“through and through”). There are three key elements on which Husserl articulates his proposal: reflection and the performance of the “imaginary Ego” to incorporate it to the notion of (extended) consciousness; phantasy as reproduction of the non-actual positional nexus; and the doxic positions inherent to phantasy and their respective neutralization. With this, Husserl introduced around 1912 (and beyond) the possibility of a critique of knowledge that allows a mixture between perception and phantasia; fundamental for an eidetic analysis of any realm of reality.

En la present tesi doctoral es presenta una aportació als estudis relacionats amb la construcció i reivindicació de la memòria i dels processos de representació implicats en l'escriptura de la història i en particular en la història dels vençuts. L'actual treball de recerca exposa i estudia, en un primer moment, la concepció d'història presentada per Benjamin. Aquesta se centra en particular en la seva última obra, les "Tesis de filosofia de la història", però així mateix ofereix les respostes que el filòsof alemany presenta al llarg de tot el seu recorregut intel·lectual fins arribar a les seves últimes formulacions, que s'han d'entendre com una resposta de caràcter ètic i profundament polític. La tesi, doncs, pren com a punt de partida metodològic i conceptual les aportacions realitzades per Walter Benjamin al debat contemporani al voltant de la filosofia de la història. La seva interpretació de la història com discontinuïtat i redempció serveix per oferir una suggerent forma de narrar i recuperar de l'oblit la veu dels vençuts que trenca amb la historiografia clàssica, basada en una interpretació lineal i causal dels esdeveniments històrics. Conceptes com "instant", "temps-ara", "discontinuïtat", "rememoració" estan al servei d'una construcció de la història que posa l'accent en les llacunes i en els intersticis de tota narració històrica amb pretensió de totalitat. Aquesta estratègia permet rescatar el valor del testimoni i trencar així amb l'homogeneïtat de la cronologia clàssica. Al llarg d'aquest estudi, es presenta com s'articula aquesta nova concepció de la història, a partir de la idea central de rememoració, que pretén presentar un relat històric que, tal i com proposa Benjamin, se centri no ja en l'èpica de la història dels vencedors sinó en la tradició dels vençuts. Davant del relat acumulatiu i autocomplaent de l’historicisme, davant de la falsa totalitat, il·lusió mítica de l’ historicisme, per anar més enllà del relat dels vencedors s'imposa la necessitat d'una altra escriptura de la història, d'una altra història. En aquest sentit, resulta d'especial importància la figura del testimoni, ja que aquesta carrega contra la invisibilitat a la qual es pretén confinar els vençuts, ja que s'entén que el veritable testimoni és aquell que no ha pogut testimoniar. Així s'ha d'entendre l'imperatiu de la representació que s'exposa -doncs en el centre de la representació sempre batega l'absència-, com aquell gest ètic que posa en joc en la llacuna constitutiva del veritable relat històric i que es presenta en la figura del testimoni , així com en l'obra d'art entesa com a espai del testimoni i com a testimoni. En un segon moment, s'estudia com es trasllada a la representació del passat tal concepció i com aquesta intervé en el paisatge del sensible a través de l'obra d'art, en concret en la narrativa de l'escriptor W. G. Sebald. L'escriptor alemany, doncs, es pren com a exemple de l'escriptura de la història com rememoració reivindicada per Benjamin i il·lustra perfectament el marc teòric que presenta el filòsof., En la presente tesis doctoral se presenta una aportación a los estudios relacionados con la construcción y reivindicación de la memoria colectiva y de los procesos de representación implicados en la escritura de la historia y en particular en la historia de los vencidos. El actual trabajo de investigación expone y estudia, en un primer momento, la concepción de historia presentada por Benjamin. Esta se centra en particular en su última obra, las "Tesis de filosofía de la historia", pero asimismo ofrece las respuestas que el filósofo alemán presenta a lo largo de todo su recorrido intelectual hasta llegar a sus últimas formulaciones, que deben entenderse como una respuesta de carácter ético y profundamente político. La tesis, pues, toma como punto de partida metodológico y conceptual las aportaciones realizadas por Walter Benjamin al debate contemporáneo en torno a la filosofía de la historia. Su interpretación de la historia como discontinuidad y redención sirve para ofrecer una sugerente forma de narrar y recuperar del olvido la voz de los vencidos que rompe con la historiografía clásica, basada en una interpretación lineal y causal de los acontecimientos historicos. Conceptos como “instante”, “tiempo-ahora”, “discontinuidad”, “rememoración” están al servicio de una construcción de la historia que pone el acento en las lagunas y en los intersticios de toda narración histórica con pretensión de totalidad. Esta estrategia permite rescatar el valor del testimonio y romper así con la homogeneidad de la cronología clásica. A lo largo de este estudio, se presenta cómo se articula esta nueva concepción de la historia, a partir de la idea central de rememoración, que pretende presentar un relato histórico que, tal y como propone Benjamin, se centre no ya en la épica de la historia de los vencedores sino en la tradición de los vencidos. Frente al relato acumulativo y autocomplaciente del historicismo, frente a la falsa totalidad, ilusión mítica del historicismo, para ir más allá del relato de los vencedores se impone la necesidad de otra escritura de la historia, de otra historia. En este sentido, resulta de especial importancia la figura del testimonio, pues esta arremete contra la invisibilidad a la que se pretende confinar a los vencidos, pues se entiende que el verdadero testimonio es aquel que no ha podido testimoniar. Así debe entenderse el imperativo de la representación que se expone —pues en el centro de la representación siempre late la ausencia—, como aquel gesto ético que pone en juego en la laguna constitutiva del verdadero relato histórico y que se presenta en la figura del testimonio, así como en la obra de arte entendida como espacio del testimonio y como testimonio. En un segundo momento, se estudia cómo se traslada a la representación del pasado tal concepción y como ésta interviene en el paisaje de lo sensible a través de la obra de arte, en concreto en la narrativa del escritor W. G. Sebald. El escritor alemán, pues, se toma como ejemplo de la escritura de la historia como rememoración reivindicada por Benjamin e ilustra perfectamente el marco teórico que presenta el filósofo., This thesis presents a contribution to the studies related to the construction and assertion of collective memory and representation of processes involved in the writing of history and in particular in the history of the vanquished. The current research presents and examines, at first, the conception of history presented by Benjamin. This focuses in particular on his latest work, "Theses on the Philosophy of History", but also provides the answers that the German philosopher presents throughout his intellectual journey to reach its final formulation, to be understood as an ethical and deeply political answer. The thesis, then, takes as its starting point the methodological and conceptual contributions made by Walter Benjamin to the contemporary debate about the philosophy of history. His interpretation of history as a discontinuity and redemption is to offer a suggestive way of narrating and retrieve from oblivion the voice of the vanquished that breaks with classical historiography, based on a linear and causal interpretation of historical events. Concepts such as "instant", "now-time", "discontinuity", "remembrance" work in the service of a construction of history that emphasizes the gaps and interstices of any historical narrative with a claim to totality. This strategy allows to recover the value of the testimony and break the homogeneity of the classical chronology. Throughout this study, it is reported how this new conception of history is articulated, from the central idea of remembrance, which aims to present a historical account that, as Benjamin suggests, should focus not only on epic the history of the victors but the tradition of the vanquished. Faced with the cumulative and self-serving account of historicism, against the false totality, mythical illusion of historicism, to go beyond the story of the victors there is a need of another writing of history, another story. In this sense, it is particularly important the figure of the testimony, as this attacks the invisibility to which is to confine the vanquished, since it is understood that the true witness is one who could not testify. So we should understand the imperative of representation, as set out in the center of representation always beats the absence, as a gesture of ethics that comes into play in the lake that constitutes the true historical account and presented in the figure of the witness as well as the work of art understood as a place of witness and testimony. In a second step, we study how such a conception of the past is transferred to the representation and how it intervenes in the landscape of the senses through the art work, specifically in the narrative of writer W. G. Sebald. The German writer, then, is taken as an example of writing history as remembrance as claimed by Benjamin and perfectly illustrates the theoretical framework presented by the philosopher.
