Research article publication is often considered a critical indicator of academic institutions' success and productivity. It improves the institution's reputation, attracts talented students and faculty members, and increases the institution's chances of receiving funding opportunities from different funding agencies. This paper provides a reliable and sustainable methodology for improving the quality and quantity of research article publications for engineering institutions in India. The various tools, techniques, and initiatives that promote research culture and improve its outcome in terms of research papers are also discussed. A case study of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE), Pune, India, depicts how predictive, prescriptive, descriptive, and diagnostic data analytics approaches help to identify the barriers in the research article publications in academic institutions and provides the ways to overcome them. It also helps to set the publication targets and develop the path to perceive the targets. The outcomes and effectiveness of the case study are discussed using the papers published in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases. This research aims to determine waqf literacy products in journals in Indonesia and Malaysia, especially cash waqf, which is expected to address the problem of low public understanding of cash waqf and may be due to not being supported by adequate literacy products. Research on waqf literacy products that focus on cash waqf is more due to the increasing trend of cash waqf, along with its great potential. The research method uses bibliometric mapping with metadata obtained from the Publish or Perish (PoP) application to access Google Scholar by filtering the titles Cash Waqf Indonesia and Malaysia and its publications in the form of journals. To visualize the bibliometric network, this study used the VOSViewer version 1.6.19. The accessed journals are limited to the last five years, 2018-2023. From the search results, Cash Waqf Indonesia had 106 journal articles, and Cash Waqf Malaysia had 40. Indonesian and Malaysian cash waqf literacy products published in journals are few. Likewise, cash waqf studies associated with productive waqf themes are still few in number, and the focus of productive waqf studies is still limited to sukuk and micro-enterprises. The history of the family business is a well-established field of study within business history. However, there is a lack of bibliometric studies on this topic. This requires, first of all, identifying publications on the subject. This has been precisely the object of our research. To do this, a systematic search has been conducted in three data sources - Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar -, using specific keywords to filter relevant publications, as well as applying inclusion and exclusion criteria to select appropriate works. The result has been the identification of 513 publications on the history of the family business between 1949 and 2023. 62% correspond to articles in academic journals, 23% to book chapters, and 15% to books. This compilation of works will serve as the basis for future bibliometric analyses on the history of the family business and a valuable resource for researchers interested in this field.

Collecting reference papers from the Internet is one of the most important activities for progressing research and writing papers about their results. Unfortunately, the current process using Google Scholar may not be efficient, since a lot of paper files cannot be accessed directly by the user. Even if they are accessible, their effectiveness needs to be checked manually. In this paper, we propose a reference paper collection system using web scraping to automate paper collections from websites. This system can collect or monitor data from the Internet, which is considered as the environment, using Selenium, a popular web scraping software, as the sensor; this examines the similarity against the search target by comparing the keywords using the Bert model. The Bert model is a deep learning model for natural language processing (NLP) that can understand context by analyzing the relationships between words in a sentence bidirectionally. The Python Flask is adopted at the web application server, where Angular is used for data presentations. For the evaluation, we measured the performance, investigated the accuracy, and asked members of our laboratory to use the proposed method and provide their feedback. The rapid increase of Earth science data from remote sensing, models, and ground-based observations highlights an urgent need for effective data management practices. Data repositories track provenance and usage metrics which are crucial for ensuring data integrity and scientific reproducibility. Although the introduction of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for datasets in the late 1990s has significantly aided in crediting creators and enhancing dataset discoverability (akin to traditional research citations), considerable challenges persist in establishing linkage of datasets used with scholarly documents. This study evaluates the citation coverage of datasets from NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) across several major bibliographic sources ‒ namely Google Scholar (GS), Web of Science (WoS), Scopus, Crossref, and DataCite—which helps data managers in making informed decisions when selecting bibliographic sources. We provide a robust and comprehensive understanding of the citation landscape, crucial for advancing data management practices and advancing open science. Our study searched and analyzed temporal trends across the bibliographic sources for publications that cite approximately 11,000 DOIs associated with EOSDIS datasets, yielding 17,000 unique journal and conference articles, reports, and book records linked to 3,000 dataset DOIs. GS emerged as the most comprehensive source while Crossref lagged significantly behind the other major sources. Crossref's record references revealed that the absence of dataset DOIs and shortcomings in the Crossref Event data interface likely contributed to its underperformance. Scopus initially outperformed WoS until 2020, after which WoS began to show superior performance. Overall, our study underscores the necessity of utilizing multiple bibliographic sources for citation analysis, particularly for exploring dataset-to-document connections. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The purpose of the study is to investigate the level of awareness and use of the various research visibility platforms by academic librarians in Nigeria. Methods: The study adopted online survey method where questionnaire was designed to collect data using Google form from 174 academic librarians in 16 universities in 8 states in South-east and South-south region of Nigeria. Results: The study revealed that the academic librarians are aware of some research visibility platforms like Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Scopus, and just heard about the ORCID identifier. Effort needs to be made to create awareness of the platforms that are not familiar to the academic staff members. The study revealed that majority of the academic librarians only created public profile with Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Scopus. The study also identified the benefits of having public profile in the research visibility platforms. Conclusion: Findings will inform the academic community on the need to create public profile in these research visibility platforms. Online academic profiles are used by scholars to reflect a desired image to their online audience. In Google Scholar, scholars can select a subset of co-authors for presentation in a central location on their profile using a social feature called the "co-authroship panel". In this work, we examine whether scientometrics and reciprocality can explain the observed selections. To this end, we scrape and thoroughly analyze a novel set of 120,000 Google Scholar profiles, ranging across four dieffectsciplines and various academic institutions. Our results seem to suggest that scholars tend to favor co-authors with higher scientometrics over others for inclusion in their co-authorship panels. Interestingly, as one's own scientometrics are higher, the tendency to include co-authors with high scientometrics is diminishing. Abstract Artificial intelligence tools are new in taphonomy and are growing fast. They are being used mainly to investigate bone surface marks. In order to investigate this subject, a bibliometric study was made to understand the growing rate of this intersectional field, the future, and gaps in the field until now. From Scopus and Google Scholar metadata, graphs were made to describe the data, and inferential statistics were made by regression with the Ordinary Least Squares method. Exploratory analysis with word clouds, topic modeling, and natural language processing with Latent Dirichlet Allocation as a method were also made using the entire corpus from the papers. From the first register until 2023, we found eight articles in Scopus and 32 in Google Scholar; the majority of the studies and the most cited were from Spain. The studies are growing fast from 2016 to 2018, and the regression shows that growth can be maintained in the coming years. Exploratory analysis shows the most frequent words are marks, models, data, and bone. Topic modeling shows that the studies are highly concentrated on similar problems and the tools to solve them, revealing that there is much more to explore with computational tools in taphonomy and paleontology as well.

Improving gender equality in top-tier scholars and addressing gender bias in research impact are among the significant challenges in academia. However, extant research has observed that lingering gender differences still undermine female scholars. This study examines the recognition of female scholars through Google Scholar data in four different subfields of communication, focusing on two pressing issues: (1) gender representation among the most cited scholars and (2) gender differences in citations. Our findings demonstrate significant differences in gender proportions among the most cited scholars across all subfields, but especially in Political Communication and Journalism. The regression analysis revealed significant differences in citation scores in Political Communication, Journalism, and the pooled sample. However, results revealed that gender differences in research impact were not statistically significant in Health Communication and Media Psychology. Our study advocates for shifts in the citing behavior of communication scholars, emphasizing the importance of actively recognizing and citing studies conducted by female researchers to drive advancements in communication research. A recent paper published in European Science Editing (ESE; https://doi.org/10.3897/ese.2023.e102691) assessed that journal's citations in 38 papers published between 2020 and 2022 using Dimensions and Scopus. The rationale for that study was that Dimensions, unlike Scopus, was "free", and thus a useful substitute for bibliometric analyses, but it is contended herein that the latter claim is not entirely accurate. To complement that analysis, citations of the same 38 papers, as well as 29 papers that had not been analyzed, giving the full complement of 67 papers published in ESE from 2020 to 2022, were reassessed (17 October 2023) using Scopus, Dimensions, and Google Scholar, since the latter is free. In addition, those papers' attention scores were appreciated from their Altmetrics scores, which were harvested from Dimensions. Although citation trends for the 38 papers were replicated, when the Altmetric scores of the additional 29 papers were also considered, the Altmetric score for ESE increased by 221 from 633 to give a total of 854. Abstract Artificial Intelligence is transforming Higher Education, achieving significant advances in different areas of knowledge. The OpenAI language model has revolutionized the world since November 2022. This study explores the potential of applying ChatGPT in academia. Documents available in the Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar are analyzed. The keywords “ChatGPT” and “Higher Education” are used using the “AND” operator, year 2023. The results of the bibliometric analysis reveal a considerable number of articles. When filters are applied, the number is significantly reduced. The subject is at an early stage in relation to HE. Publications in more than one database were identified, but not publication of an article in more than one journal; there is interest from researchers from different countries. Literature review studies are abundant. The advantages in terms of efficiency, quality and creativity in the generation of knowledge are highlighted. However, there are also ethical challenges and the need for responsible use. It is essential that educators and students are aware of the potential risks and take steps to mitigate them through ongoing training and the promotion of academic integrity.

The study examines the awareness and usage of Academic Social Networking Sites (ASNS) among female research scholars and faculty members in Tamil Nadu, India. A structured questionnaire was used to survey 838 female research scholars through online platforms. The results showed that most respondents use at least one ASNS, with Google Scholar being the most popular. The primary reasons for using ASNS are to disseminate scholarly work and discover research papers. However, a lack of awareness and time was the main reason for not having an account with these sites. The respondents learned about ASNS primarily through friends and colleagues and suggested increasing their use and awareness through seminars and training courses, library posters, and integration in the student courses. The study highlights the importance of ASNS in the research work of female scholars and faculties while also recognizing the need for increased awareness and access to these resources.

The researcher partner recommendation system plays a crucial role in fostering academic collaboration in universities, where a challenge for new users is finding suitable research partners. In addressing the limitations of Naïve Bayes classifiers, this article introduces an innovative approach in the form of a non-linear sigmoid activation function. We highlight the urgency of this solution, detail its implementation steps, and describe its substantial contribution to research partner recommendations. This article not only identifies existing obstacles but also proposes revolutionary solutions to enhance the effectiveness of consultation systems in academic environments. A gap in this research is the manual input method for data retrieval, creating weaknesses, susceptibility to human errors, and reduced efficiency in collecting journal data. We propose SPARRING, a researcher recommendation system connected to Google Scholar, in the context of higher education. This approach uses a dataset of faculty members from the Faculty of Information Technology and Business at a private university in Indonesia. The results from Google Scholar extraction, with topic keywords determined by Latent Dirichlet Allocation, are then classified using the Naïve Bayes algorithm. Additionally, we integrate web scraping tools, particularly SerpAPI, to access data from Google Scholar. Through the integration of SerpAPI, the proposed web-based system is capable of providing more accurate recommendations, especially for new users with limited collaboration experience. By incorporating SerpAPI, the proposed web-based system can offer more accurate recommendations, particularly for new users without extensive collaboration experience.

In this letter, we focus on a very curious and bibliometrically important case of a 2017 moth pheromone paper published in Cell Press' Current Biology that has already accumulated over 1600 Google Scholar-based citations within the past 4 years (i.e., since 2020) to appreciate whether all those citations are valid, i.e., within thematic scope, or whether a portion of those citations might be invalid, and which we colloquially refer to herein as "unwanted citations". Our investigation assessed Scopus-based data (1088 citations on 10 August 2023). In addition to creating a SciVal thematic profile, which indicated a wide diversity of topics of papers citing the 2017 paper, a manual screen revealed only one paper that was directly thematically relevant to the topic of insect reproductive biology. The remaining > 99% of citations, or "unwanted citations", are invalid. To reflect a valid state of scientific truthfulness, those papers should be corrected to reflect that citation abuse has taken place. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A few of meta-analysis studies regarding the intervention of cooperative learning have been conducted. However, it has not been performed on the studies related to the intervention of cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) learning for Indonesian students’ reading literacy. This study aims to approximate and examine the effect of CIRC learning on students’ reading literacy ability across group size of intervention, educational level, and geographical location. A meta-analysis was performed to conduct this study. The search of document using the database of Google Scholar found 97 documents. The selection of document established 10 documents published from 2015–2021 consisting of one conference paper and nine journal articles. Hedges’ equation was employed to measure the effect size. The data analysis used the Z test and Q Cochrane test. The results revealed that the CIRC learning had a strong positive effect (g=2.041; p<0.05) on students’ reading literacy ability. It indicates that the CIRC learning is effective for enhancing students’ reading literacy ability. Furthermore, some moderating factors such as group size of intervention, educational level, and geographical location did not affect students’ heterogeneous reading literacy ability. Author-level bibliometrics are one way to measure scholarly contributions. Such metrics are often calculated from journals indexed in the Web of Science TM. Google Scholar more comprehensively reflects the contributions of special education scholars by including many more social science and education journals. The current study analyzed 348 publicly available Google Scholar profiles of special education faculty at 213 U.S. universities to explore currently available measures (i.e., citation counts, h- index, i 10-index). Using descriptive statistics, quartile distributions, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), we identified several significant differences across variables based on academic rank and Carnegie classification with medium to large effect sizes. Currently reported metrics (i.e., citation counts, h- index, i 10-index) advantaged scholars with higher academic rank and those working at universities with a greater amount of research activity. Academic departments, research clusters and evaluators analyze author and citation data to measure research impact and to support strategic planning. We created Scholar Metrics Scraper (SMS) to automate the retrieval of bibliometric data for a group of researchers. The project contains Jupyter notebooks that take a list of researchers as an input and exports a CSV file of citation metrics from Google Scholar (GS) to visualize the group's impact and collaboration. A series of graph outputs are also available. SMS is an open solution for automating the retrieval and visualization of citation data.

The article presents the latest ranking list of Hungarian scientists in 2023. The ranking is presented primarily according to the h-index of scientists. Scientists with the same h-index are ranked by the number of citations. We present the top 34 Hungarian scientists with the minimum h-index 104. h-index can be determined from the following online databases: Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar and the Publish or Perish program. The ranking is edited using the Google Scholar database. We also present the Orcid ID number of scientists. The first chapter is the introduction, in the second chapter we present the latest ranking list of Hungarian scientists in 2023, the third chapter is the conclusions.

This study aims to determine the productivity of lecturers at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University in a span of 10 years (2012–2021). The research method used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The results of this study proved that from 54 lecturers, 40 lecturers were found to have lecturer profile accounts on the Google Scholar website with a total publication of 940 journal articles. Lecturer productivity based on Lotka's Law gets an exponent value (n) 0.0050 with a value (C) 0.0350. This shows that the percentage of lecturers who contribute 2 articles to the lecturer profile on google scholar is on the observation results of 5%, while in the calculation of Lotka's theoretical value is 3.59%. After conducting the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test, it was found that Dmax was greater than the critical value (0.8834 > 0.2150). Based on these results, it was found that there was a significant difference between the theoretical value of Lotka Law and the results of observations in journals indexed by google scholar in the FISIP lecturer profile for 2012–2021.

This work aims to analyze the Brazilian academic production on tarot, delimiting a space of ten years of publications - between 2012 and 2022 - and based on the search results found through the Google Scholar search engine, which aims to list and organize all sorts of academic content. Through this analysis, the main approaches of the oracle are observed, which is one of the most used in the western world, becoming more popular in recent years with the increase of its presence in cyberspace and the spirituality of the New Age, which dialogues with concepts of religion, religiosity and spirituality developed by Droogers (1983), Siqueira (2013), Durkheim (2001), Eliade (1992) and Coutinho (2012). A gap is evident in relation to the historiographical and theological production focused on the theme, emphasizing the importance of establishing the field of Tarot History in Brazil and expanding national studies on the oracle in these areas. Purpose: Th study evaluates the apparent quality of the 10 Beall's List accounting journals with the highest citation rates by investigating whether the works that cite those journals are comparable to those that cite 11 Scopus journals of similar citation impact. Design/methodology/approach: The study investigates the characteristics of the works that cited the Beall's List and Scopus journals, 2015–2020, comparing the two groups of citing works by publication type (article, book, etc.), extent of self-citation, inclusion in Beall's List and Scopus, Open Access (OA) status, publisher type, citation impact, and country/region of interest. Findings: The Beall's List accounting journals tend to be cited in less reputable outlets; they are especially likely to be cited in Beall's List journals and especially unlikely to be cited in Scopus journals. However, other evidence suggests that these journals occupy a distinctive niche. The works that cite Beall's List journals are especially likely to be OA, to be published by universities and other nonprofits, and to focus on lower-income countries. They also have relatively low journal and publisher self-citation rates. Originality/value: Beall's List accounting journals may be especially useful to scholars who rely on OA journals, who see their local universities as natural publishing partners, and who investigate topics of concern to developing countries. This study analysed the relationship between informality and sustainable development goals using the bibliometric analysis. As a means for measuring scholarly influence, citation analysis has several limitations and shortcomings. We first review the main sources of citation data (Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, and information collected directly from reference lists) and discuss the shortcomings of each source. Next, we review five significant limitations of citation analysis as a methodology (academic over popular interest, various motivations for citing, manipulation potential, failure to account for author ordering, and citations only appearing in "indexed" journals). The access to knowledge is an important requirement for advancement of scientific and technological research and development of a country. Availability of resources is a crucial bottleneck for universities and colleges in developing countries. This leads to frequent use of pirate access sites like Sci-Hub by researchers. For instance, India has more than 900 universities and 40,000 colleges, and Africa has more than 1200 universities. Only a few of these institutions would have access to most of the research journals their scholars require. It is in this context that we tried to find out if there exist some resources which can provide links to open and free to download versions of scientific papers. Google Scholar, a heavily used resource for research article searches, is explored to see how effective it is in providing links to open access freely downloadable copies of scientific articles. The complete set of global scientific publications for the year 2016 are computationally analyzed through a web-mining approach, as an example, to see if Google Scholar is able to point to freely downloadable open text versions of scientific articles. Results show that Google Scholar points to full-text sources for about 69% of the articles queried, with about 43% of the articles having openly accessible full-texts. The results, thus, indicate that Google Scholar can be a useful tool for locating open access full-text versions of close to about half of the scientific articles of the world, which has special significance for under-developed and developing countries. Schools are institutions designed for the learning process. The school level is divided into basic education, secondary education, and higher education. The purpose of the school is to develop the potential of students. The purpose of this research is to combine mapping analysis with the VOSviewer application. In addition to VOSviewer, Publish or Perish was also carried out in this study. The keyword used is "High School". Based on search results of 1000 relevant articles published from 2017-2021. Based on the research results, the number of published articles about "high school" has decreased every year. This research is expected to help researchers who will conduct and determine the research theme.

Education is the study of a group of people's knowledge, abilities, and habits, which is passed down from generation to generation through teaching, training, or research. The goal of this study is to combine mapping analysis with VOSviewer software to undertake a bibliometric analysis of research in the field of education. To acquire research data, the reference manager application is employed. The information gathered is based on search results for the term "education." From the search results, we found 993 articles that were published between 2017 and 2021. According to the findings, the number of studies in 2017 was 232, grew to 263 in 2018, and then continued to fall from 2019 to 2021. In 2021, there will be 39 education-related research publications published in Google Scholar indexed journals. The fundamental reason is that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on educational research, as practically everything is focused on Covid-19. The value of bibliometric analysis in providing analytical data about what happens is demonstrated in this work. This study is meant to assist and serve as a resource for researchers in researching and identifying research themes.

Background: A study to reveal existing pedagogical content knowledge or technological pedagogical content knowledge frameworks and their effectiveness in teaching mathematics is crucial to inform the reader, teacher, and researcher. This review study intended to explore the trends of the pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) framework, how it has changed over time until the most recent version of technological and pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) was developed, and their effectiveness in teaching mathematics. Methods: We initially downloaded 273 articles from the first 30 Google Scholar pages and analyzed 229 journal articles. We got 24 frameworks from 64 journal articles since Shulman’s first model in 1986. About 52 out of 229 were mathematics studies. Among these studies, we found that 18 studies have extensively investigated the use of identified frameworks. Results: The frameworks were presented and descriptively discussed in chronological order. The empirical studies that compared the role of pedagogical content knowledge and technological pedagogical content knowledge models among classrooms with teachers who possess and do not possess such skills were demonstrated. A proteção, conservação, avaliação e monitoramento das fontes naturais de água constituem a base para a Gestão Integrada de Recursos Hídricos e o planejamento de bacias hidrográficas, sendo as nascentes fontes de água de especial importância pelos serviços ecossistêmicos prestados. A definição do termo nascentes na literatura cientifica se caracteriza pelas imprecisões e interpretações subjetivas. O termo nascente, por estar inserido nas legislações ambientais, precisa estruturar envolvendo as diferentes áreas de conhecimento que as estudam, pois do seu correto entendimento depende a aplicabilidade das penalidades legais estabelecidas nas normas ambientais. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi identificar e analisar a informação disponível na literatura acadêmico-científica, assim como em materiais/documentos não científicos, relacionada à temática de nascentes de cursos d’água, caracterizando as publicações e analisando as abordagens que atualmente direcionam as pesquisas sobre esse assunto. Para isso, foi desenvolvida uma Revisão Bibliográfica Sistemática (RBS) em três etapas: 1. planejamento da RBS; 2. processamento da pesquisa; e 3. resultados esperados. Essas etapas conformam o sistema Entrada-Processamento-Saída que pretendeu garantir a coerência dos dados coletados com os objetivos da revisão, a fim de identificar, descrever e analisar de forma simplificada e organizada a literatura científica sobre o assunto. Os artigos e documentos consultados foram sendo filtrados e posteriormente classificados de acordo com sua pertinência e relação com a temática, foram formuladas algumas categorias para agrupar as principais abordagens das pesquisas analisadas. No total, foram consultados 1.216 artigos e 960 materiais/documentos, sendo finalmente escolhidas 102 referências. Identificou-se que a categoria de monitoramento e avaliação físico-química e microbiológica da qualidade da água superficial foi a que teve maior número de resultados associados, mostrando que existe uma prioridade acadêmica em buscar formas de garantir o abastecimento humano de água, desconsiderando todas as funções ecológicas e ambientais que as nascentes possuem.

Background: A study to reveal existing pedagogical content knowledge or technological pedagogical content knowledge frameworks and their effectiveness in teaching mathematics is crucial to inform the reader, teacher, and researcher. This review study intended to explore the trends of the pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) framework, how it has changed over time until the most recent version of technological and pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) was developed, and their effectiveness in teaching mathematics. Methods: We initially downloaded 273 articles from the first 30 Google Scholar pages and analyzed 229 journal articles. We got 24 frameworks from 64 journal articles since Shulman’s first model in 1986. About 52 out of 229 were mathematics studies. Among these studies, we found that 18 studies have extensively investigated the use of identified frameworks. Results: The frameworks were presented and descriptively discussed in chronological order. The empirical studies that compared the role of pedagogical content knowledge and technological pedagogical content knowledge models among classrooms with teachers who possess and do not possess such skills were demonstrated. Conclusions: The gap in empirical studies was identified, and further studies about the intervention of PCK and TPACK models were suggested to gain more insight into the mathematics classroom.

This paper attempts to scrutinise the publication productivity of Prof. Sunilkumar S. Manvi, Dean of Engineering and Technology at REVA University, Bengaluru, by data obtained from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases. In a total of 24 productive years (1999-2022), he has 292 publications (September 2022), and the highest number of documents was published in the year 2011 with 33 publications. His publications were analysed by types of document, year-wise distribution, distribution of articles in different domains, citation productivity, authorship pattern, measure of collaborations, collaboration indices, most prolific journals with number publication, highly cited articles, and citations during the study period of 1999-2022. As per collaboration indices, his highest Collaborative Coefficient is 0.67, MCC is 1.00 in the year 1999 and 2000 respectively. The highest Degree of Collaboration is 1.00, Collaborative Index is 3.11 in the year 2007. He published 98 documents during the period of 2009-2013. The article presents the latest ranking list of Hungarian scientists in 2023. The ranking is presented primarily according to the h-index of scientists. Scientists with the same h-index are ranked by the number of citations. We present the top 34 Hungarian scientists with the minimum h-index 104. h-index can be determined from the following online databases: Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar and the Publish or Perish program. The ranking is edited using the Google Scholar database. We also present the Orcid ID number of scientists. Extraversion, of the Big Five personality traits, has been identified as the most socially relevant of the traits with respect to positive COVID-19 coping—yet relevant research is found conflicting. Studies assessing this discrepancy have not situated the influence of extraversion within a geographical and historical context. Thus, a likely contributor has been missed. Furthermore, extraversion is based on other-directed learning with respect to COVID-19 coping, and this has not been considered regarding its contrast to self-directed learning. To provide context, an examination of high-ranking Google Scholar results on extraversion and COVID-19 coping from different countries during the pandemic's various waves is undertaken, including the introduction of vaccines as a factor in decreasing COVID-19's perceived threat. These are then examined for relationships regarding public opinion. Following, extraversion is compared with other-directed learning and differentiated from self-directed learning. An understanding is thus presented for assessing when extraversion will be an effective personality trait for positive COVID-19 coping and when it will not. Extraversion's effect is found inherently inconsistent for identifying positive COVID-19 coping because of its dependence on other-directed learning. The conclusion: stability in positive COVID-19 coping is contingent on personal values that guide self-directed learning rather than extraversion's other-directed learning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The strength of meta-analyses lies in the synthesis of data from multiple studies. Current guidelines require a thorough systematic search to maximize results, which usually includes searching multiple academic search systems (ASS). Google Scholar (GS) is considered a promising tool for searching the scientific literature. We aimed to determine whether GS is a valid and sufficient solitary data source for meta-analyses in the field of otolaryngology. Selected ENT-HNS journal was searched for meta-analyses published between 2010 and 2021 that adhered to the systematic reviews and meta-analyses guidelines and precisely followed the search algorithm. The latter was reproduced with GS, and the position of each enrolled study in each meta-analysis was determined. Ten meta-analyses were enrolled, the total number of search results ranged from 57 to 17,949. The number of GS search results was significantly greater than those of other ASS combinations (range 1,360–25,400, P =.006). The number of included papers for each meta-analysis ranged from 5 to 26. The position of all enrolled papers throughout GS searching was in the first 200 GS results in four of 10 meta-analyses. The reference lists of all included papers in the first 200 GS results identified 106 papers out of 108 (98%), while searching until the 500th GS output results identified 107 papers out of 108 papers (99%). GS can serve as a solitary ASS for systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses in the field of otolaryngology.
