Renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury contributes to the development of acute kidney injury (AKI). Kidney is the second organ rich in mitochondrial content next to the heart. Mitochondrial damage substantially contributes for AKI development. Mitophagy eliminates damaged mitochondria from the cells to maintain a healthy mitochondrial population, which plays an important role in AKI. Pannexin 1 (PANX1) channel transmembrane proteins are known to drive inflammation and release of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) during I/R injury. However, the specific role of PANX1 on mitophagy regulation in renal I/R injury remains elusive. In this study, we find that serum level of PANX1 is elevated in patients who developed AKI after cardiac surgery, and the level of PANX1 is positively correlated with serum creatinine and urea nitrogen levels. Using the mouse model of renal I/R injury in vivo and cell-based hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) model in vitro, we prove that genetic deletion of PANX1 mitigate the kidney tubular cell death, oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage after I/R injury through enhanced mitophagy. Mechanistically, PANX1 disrupts mitophagy by influencing ATP-P2Y-mTOR signal pathway. These observations provide evidence that PANX1 could be a potential biomarker for AKI and a therapeutic target to alleviate AKI caused by I/R injury.

The acoustic signals generated by power equipment such as converter transformers and AC filters tend to contain crucial status information. Traditional methods relying on manual auscultation to locate equipment faults suffer from subjectivity， low efficiency， and limited reliability. Therefore， a novel approach is proposed， utilizing mobile microphone arrays for abnormal sound source localization. The derivation of the error formula for the translated short-time Fourier transform （STFT） quantitatively assesses the reasonable range of array movement speed and sampling time. In the frequency domain， a positional function relationship between the mobile microphone array and the sound source is established. Building upon this new function relationship， the traditional beamforming algorithm is optimized. A triangulation method is introduced to address the limitation of the beamforming algorithm， which can only determine direction， enabling precise localization of abnormal sound sources in converter stations. Based on on-site test data， a simulation model is constructed to validate the accuracy of the approach for localizing abnormal sound sources in converter stations using mobile microphone arrays.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of local treatment (LT), including radiotherapy (RT) and cytoreductive prostatectomy (CRP), in improving outcomes for patients with oligometastatic prostate cancer (OmPCa). Methods: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of articles from PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science published between 2010 and November 2023 were conducted. The study included 11 articles, comprising three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and eight retrospective analyses. The study assessed overall survival (OS), radiographic progression‐free survival (rPFS), prostate‐specific antigen (PSA) PFS, cancer‐specific survival (CSS), and complication rate (CR). Results: OS was significantly improved in the LT group, with both RCTs and non‐RCTs showing statistical significance [hazard ratios (HR) = 0.64; 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs), 0.51–0.80; p < 0.0001; HR = 0.55; 95% CIs, 0.40–0.77; p = 0.0004]. For rPFS, RCTs did not show statistically significant outcomes (HR = 0.60; 95% CIs, 0.34–1.07; p = 0.09), whereas non‐RCTs demonstrated significant results (HR = 0.42; 95% CIs, 0.24–0.72; p = 0.002). Both RCTs and non‐RCTs showed a significant improvement in PSA‐PFS (HR = 0.44; 95%CI, 0.29–0.67; p = 0.0001; HR = 0.51; 95% CIs, 0.32–0.81; p = 0.004). For CSS, RCTs demonstrated statistical differences (HR = 0.65; 95% CIs, 0.47–0.90; p = 0.009), whereas non‐RCTs did not (HR = 0.61; 95% CIs, 0.29–1.27; p = 0.19). Regarding CR, the risk difference was −0.22 (95% CIs, −0.32 to −0.12; p < 0.00001). Conclusion: LT significantly improved OS and PFS in patients with OmPCa. The semi-active cab suspension system for trucks is gaining increasing importance due to its economic advantages, low energy consumption, and significant enhancement of ride comfort. This paper investigates the effects of three control methods on improving ride comfort of semi-active cab suspension systems under random and bump road conditions: Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control, fuzzy PID control, and Model Predictive Control (MPC). Initially, an accurate multi-degree-of-freedom truck cab suspension model was developed and validated through actual road tests. Based on this model, three control strategies were designed and implemented. Finally, the effectiveness of each control strategy was evaluated under various road conditions, including random and bump road scenarios. The results indicate that these control strategies can effectively reduce vibrations and impacts, significantly improving ride comfort. This improvement is crucial for alleviating driver fatigue and enhancing driving safety. Among them, the MPC control showed superior performance, reducing vibrations by at least 31% under both random and bump road conditions, outperforming PID and Fuzzy PID in terms of effectiveness and robustness. Waveguide-based total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy has been widely adopted due to its excellent signal-to-noise ratio over a large field of view. However, with the increasing demand for label-free imaging, waveguide-based evanescent light scattering microscopy (ESM) has also garnered significant attention. Here, we present a low-cost waveguide-based microscope slide that offers easier integration with conventional optical microscopy. This microscope slide uses an incoherent light source coupled to a lithium tantalate (LT) planar waveguide to generate an evanescent light that illuminates samples located within a few hundred nanometers of the waveguide surface. We perform its application for imaging chromium nanoholes and polystyrene nanospheres, demonstrating its label-free, high-resolution, high-contrast imaging performance. Aims Following myocardial infarction (MI), the heart repairs itself via a fibrotic repair response. The degree of fibrosis is determined by the balance between deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM) by activated fibroblasts and breakdown of nascent scar tissue by proteases that are secreted predominantly by inflammatory cells. Excessive proteolytic activity and matrix turnover has been observed in human heart failure, and protease inhibitors in the injured heart regulate matrix breakdown. Serine protease inhibitors (Serpins) represent the largest and the most functionally diverse family of evolutionary conserved protease inhibitors, and levels of the specific Serpin, SerpinA3, have been strongly associated with clinical outcomes in human MI as well as non-ischaemic cardiomyopathies. Yet, the role of Serpins in regulating cardiac remodelling is poorly understood. The aim of this study was to understand the role of Serpins in regulating scar formation after MI. Methods and results Using a SerpinA3n conditional knockout mice model, we observed the robust expression of Serpins in the infarcted murine heart and demonstrate that genetic deletion of SerpinA3n (mouse homologue of SerpinA3) leads to increased activity of substrate proteases, poorly compacted matrix, and significantly worse post-infarct cardiac function. Single-cell transcriptomics complemented with histology in SerpinA3n-deficient animals demonstrated increased inflammation, adverse myocyte hypertrophy, and expression of pro-hypertrophic genes. Proteomic analysis of scar tissue demonstrated decreased cross-linking of ECM peptides consistent with increased proteolysis in SerpinA3n-deficient animals. Leakage in underground structures, especially tunnels, may cause seepage erosion in the surrounding soil, which in turn leads to ground subsidence, posing a great threat to urban safety. The current literature mainly focuses on seepage erosion in the sand but lacks a systematic study on the development process of seepage erosion induced by tunnel leakage in different strata. To investigate the different seepage erosion modes induced by tunnel leakage in different stratum types, a series of reduced-scale model tests were carried out. A coupled fluid–solid numerical model was further established to analyze the fine-scale characteristics of different seepage erosion modes. The results show that (1) the soil seepage erosion modes can be divided into three categories: no soil cave, unstable soil cave, and stable soil cave; (2) the adopted coupled fluid–solid numerical model based on DEM, which takes into account the degradation of clay during seepage erosion, can effectively simulate the erosion process of soil with different seepage erosion modes; (3) the phenomena of the three erosion modes are different in the process of erosion development; and (4) the micro-mechanisms of the three seepage erosion modes are different, which are manifested in the erosion range, soil arching effect, and displacement. Ternary chalcogenide PbGa2Se4 with high resistivity, photosensitivity, and excellent nonlinear properties, exhibits a potential application in optoelectronic and nonlinear optical devices. However, the preparation of large‐sized pure PbGa2Se4 crystals is challenging due to the presence of peritectic reaction L+α(Ga2Se3)→PbGa2Se4${\mathrm{L}} + {{\alpha}}({G{a}_2S{e}_3}) \to PbG{a}_2S{e}_4$ and a narrow homogeneity region. Here, a "quenching‐annealing" method (quenching at 850 °C in ice water, and then annealing at 650 °C for 250 h by reheating) is developed to eliminate the PbSe second phase during the synthesis. Subsequently, the PbGa2Se4 single crystals are successfully grown using chemical vapor transport (CVT) with the I2 as the transport agent. The resulting crystal exhibits the crystal structure belonging to Fddd space group with the lattice parameters of a = 12.7192 Å, b = 21.2831 Å, and c = 21.5226 Å. Additionally, it possesses a wide bandgap (≈2.26 eV), high resistivity (6.59 × 1012 Ω·cm), and defect density calculated via space charge limited current measurement (SCLC) as 2.46 × 1011 cm−3. In order to solve the problems of low efficiency, multiple blind spots, and high risks in traditional debris flow exploration, two technical means were adopted: small baseline subset interferometric synthetic aperture radar (SBAS-InSAR) and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) low altitude remote sensing (the former obtains highly reliable deformation of vegetation coverage areas through dense images, while the latter obtains high-resolution realistic 3D models through regional network adjustment and other processing) . Integrating deformation and image texture, a survey and analysis of debris flow valleys along a railway in a certain mountainous area was conducted to obtain the spatial and temporal distribution of geological hazards in the watershed. The results show that, through SBAS-InSAR technology, it was found that there were multiple seasonal active hazards in the debris flow valley, with a maximum deformation variable of 28.5 mm/a. Based on the 3D model of UAV, a detailed investigation was conducted on the spatial form, volume, occurrence, and development of the deformation hazard. The largest scale landslide had a volume of 165 000 to 180 000 cubic meters. On site investigations show that the comprehensive remote sensing technology can effectively overcome the challenges of complex mountainous terrain and difficult access for humans, providing a multidimensional perspective for disaster screening.
