Abstract The diagnostics of ruminant parasites remains one of the cornerstones for parasite control best practices. Field veterinarians have several techniques at their disposal (fecal egg count, coproculture, FAMACHA®, plasma pepsinogen, ELISA-Ostertagia, ELISA-Fasciola, Baermann and ELISA-Lungworm) for the identification and/or quantification of gastrointestinal nematodes, lungworms and liver fluke infecting small ruminants and cattle. Each of these diagnostic tools has its own strengths and weaknesses and is more appropriate for a specific production operation and/or age of the animal (young and adults). This review focuses on the usability and interpretation of the results of these diagnostic tools. The most advanced technical information on sampling, storage, advantages and limitations of each tool for different types of production operations and animal categories is provided. COPPER , *CRYSTAL structure , *NAPHTHALENE - Abstract
A highly reactive dicuprate/CuCl aggregate, Nap(Cu4Cl2)(TMEDA)2 (2, Nap = naphthalene-1,8-diyl, TMEDA = tetramethylethylenediamine), was synthesized by the reaction of 1,8-dilithionaphthalene(TMEDA)2 with four equivalents of CuCl. The X-ray crystal structure of this complex shows that the four copper atoms form a bent parallelogram-shaped core, with terminally bonded chlorine atoms. The naphthalene ring is bonded through carbons in the 1 and 8 positions (peri-positions), each bridging two copper atoms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The clean reaction of 5-lithio-6-diisopropylphosphinoacenaphthene (1') with dichlorophosphines, RPCl₂ (R = Ph, Fc, NMe₂, iPr), led to the formation of peri-substituted phosphino-phosphonium chloride salts 2-5. The synthetic utility of these salts was demonstrated in a range of reactions. Mixed tertiary/secondary bis(phosphines) (6 and 7) were prepared by the LiAlH₄ reduction of phenyl or ferrocenyl phosphino-phosphoniums (2 and 3), and the bis(borane) adduct of 6 was prepared by reduction of 2 with BH₃•SMe₂. Reaction of 2 and 3 with a large excess of MeOTf at elevated temperature gave 1,2-diphosphoniums (11 and 12), which were subjected to reduction and co-ordination to a molybdenum(0) centre. An investigation into the co-ordination chemistry of 2 revealed three distinct modes of reactivity. In the reaction with [(nor)Mo(CO)₄] the Mo(0) complex [(2)Mo(CO)₄Cl] (18) was isolated, in which monodentate co-ordination was observed. [PtCl₂(cod)] reacts with the chloride and triflate salts of 2 to form [(2Cl)PtCl₂] (19) and [((2Cl)PtCl)₂][TfO]₂ (21) respectively, both of which show co-ordination of 2 as a bidentate phosphine/chlorophosphine ligand. A palladium(II) dimer (22) in which 2 forms a chelating phosphine/phosphide ligand was isolated from the oxidative addition of 2 to a palladium(0) complex. The geminally bis(peri-substituted) tridentate phosphine (27) was prepared by reaction of 1' with half an equivalent of iPrPCl₂. 27 has a rather strained geometry, and displays restricted dynamics on an NMR timescale, which leads to anisochronicity of all three phosphorus nuclei at low temperatures. Strained bis and tris(sulfides) 28 and 29 and the bis(selenide) 30 have been isolated from the reaction of 27 with sulfur and selenium, respectively. A series of co-ordination complexes, [(27)Cu(MeCN)][BF₄] (32), [(27)PtCl][Cl] (33), [(27)FeCl₂] (34) and fac-[(27)Mo(CO)₃] (35), with tetrahedral, square planar, trigonal bipyramidal and octahedral geometries, respectively, were synthesised. In all of these complexes the tris(phosphine) backbone is distorted, but to a significantly smaller extent that in the chalcogenides 28-30.

This thesis will be asking questions about the underlying structure of Kant, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche's thoughts on atheism and agnosticism. It will begin with the work of the mature Kant, explaining how his epistemology, as articulated in the Critique of Pure Reason, treated the question of the sense experience of God and then how his theory of biblical hermeneutics treated the question of divine revelation through scripture, before examining Kant's moral proof of God, finding it not to be successful. I next move to a consideration of the atheistic philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer. Schopenhauer's chief argument against God will be seen to be an argument from exclusion, although significant difficulties will be seen to beset Schopenhauer's endeavour. He will also be seen to shape a moral philosophy which he then turns against God. This argument will be examined in some detail and it too, despite appearances, will be seen to be essentially metaphysical. Since Schopenhauer's moral philosophy is intrinsically metaphysical in this way, his moral objective to God has to be construed as relying upon the prior introduction of an element of his atheistic metaphysics and to that extent is to be considered an expression of, rather than an argument for, atheism. Nietzsche elaborates a metapsychological and physiological analysis of the type of person inclined towards believing in the claims of the monotheistic tradition, demonstrating how theism is connected with the yearning of escape and for the moralisation of the socially unaccountable. After investigating the Nietzschean approach to religion and atheism, I will however, conclude that Nietzsche only achieves some of his aims; and further, that those of his aims which are achieved themselves rely on certain specific empirical assumptions which are in any case problematic.

[BACKGROUND & AIMS] Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic liver disease in which autoimmune destruction of the small intra-hepatic bile ducts eventually leads to cirrhosis. Many patients have inadequate response to licensed medications, motivating the search for novel therapies. Previous genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and meta-analyses (GWMA) of PBC have identified numerous risk loci for this condition, providing insight into its aetiology. We undertook the largest GWMA of PBC to date, aiming to identify additional risk loci and prioritise candidate genes for in silico drug efficacy screening. [METHODS] We combined new and existing genotype data for 10, 516 cases and 20, 772 controls from five European and two East Asian cohorts. [RESULTS] We identified 56 genome-wide significant loci (20 novel) including 46 in European, 13 in Asian, and 41 in combined cohorts; and a 57th genome-wide significant locus (also novel) in conditional analysis of the European cohorts. Candidate genes at newly identified loci include FCRL3, INAVA, PRDM1, IRF7, CCR6, CD226, and IL12RB1, each having key roles in immunity. Pathway analysis reiterated the likely importance of pattern recognition receptor and TNF signalling, Jak-STAT signalling, and differentiation of TH1 and TH17 cells in the pathogenesis of this disease. Drug efficacy screening identified several medications predicted to be therapeutic in PBC, some well-established in the treatment of other autoimmune disorders. [CONCLUSIONS] This study has identified additional risk loci for PBC, provided a hierarchy of agents that could be trialled in this condition, and emphasised the value of genetic and genomic approaches to drug discovery in complex disorders. [Lay summary] Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic liver disease that eventually leads to cirrhosis. In this study, we analysed genetic information from 10, 516 people with PBC and 20, 772 healthy individuals recruited in Canada, China, Italy, Japan, UK, or USA. We identified several genetic regions associated with PBC. Each of these regions contains several genes. For each region, we used diverse sources of evidence to help us choose the gene most likely to be involved in causing PBC. We used these ‘candidate genes’ to help us identify medications that are currently used for treatment of other conditions, which might also be useful for treatment of PBC., 原発性胆汁性胆管炎のゲノムワイド関連解析 --国際メタ解析による新規疾患感受性遺伝子と治療薬候補の同定--. 京都大学プレスリリース. 2021-06-28.

Silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) released during the burning of sugarcane have been postulated to have a role in chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology. We tested the hypothesis that pristine SiNPs of the size present in sugarcane might cause chronic kidney injury when administered through the lung in rats. We administered 200- or 300-nm amorphous SiNPs twice weekly (4 mg/dose), or vehicle by oropharyngeal aspiration for 13 wk to rats followed by euthanasia after an additional 13 wk (26 wk total). Tissues were evaluated for the presence of SiNPs and evidence of histological injury. Both sizes of SiNPs caused kidney damage, with early tubular injury and inflammation (at week 13) that continued to inflammation and chronic fibrosis at week 26 despite discontinuation of the SiNP administration. Both sizes of SiNPs caused local inflammation in the lung and kidney and were detected in the serum and urine at week 13, and the 200-nm particles were also localized to the kidney with no evidence of retention of the 300-nm particles. At week 26, there was some clearance of the 200-nm silica from the kidneys, and urinary levels of SiNPs were reduced but still significant in both 200- and 300 nm-exposed rats. In conclusion, inhaled SiNPs cause chronic kidney injury that progresses despite stopping the SiNP administration. These findings support the hypothesis that human exposure to amorphous silica nanoparticles found in burned sugarcane fields could have a participatory role in chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology. 616.07 - Abstract
In the preceeding pages, instead.of entirely confirming my remarks to the instance which occurred in my ovum practice, I have endeavoured by a selection of cases from the experience of others, to indicate, so far as I am able, the position held by Antistreptococcic serum as a therapentic agent. It will be seen therefore. 1. That its successful application in a measure depends on a recognition of the microbe which is responsible for the infection ie it is Useless to expect a favourable result in say Staplulococcic infection. 2. Even when Streptococci are demonstrated its employment is sometimes unsatisfactory; this is explained by the fact that a given sample of curative serum is only antagonistic to a like strain of Streptococci from which it has been derived. Therefore as has already been pointed out it is important to immunise the animal against as many strains of this organism as possible. 3. Experience would poini, to the view that many forms of mixed infection might well be treated by a serum of polyvalent character derived from animals immunised against various forms of pathogenic bacteria. 4. That in certain forms of Septicaemia of more or less obscure character it seems to be of great value and this value will probably be further emphasised by the result of additional trials. 5. It should be used as early as possible in the course of the disease. For this reason it is imperative in doubtful cases to have a bacteriological examination of the blood and secretions. As the injections rarely cause any inconvenience the application of the serum need not be delayed until the receipt of the bacteriological report: If the report contra indicates this particular serum, no harm has been done and if a positive report has been received much valuable time has been gained. 6. As regards dosage 10 C. CM appears to be an average dose. In many instances the amount injected is too small. It is often well to commence with a large quantity say 20 C CM fcr one injection. This was the procedure followed out in the case which happened in my own experience, 7. Antistreptococcic serum is not antitoxic in the same other serums are. It is primarily Ante -bacterial but by its inhibitary action on these organisms, it at the same time lowers their toxin production. As the bounds of our knowledge of many forms *of bacterial infection become more extended, we may safely assume that this particular branch of Serumtherapy will obtain a wider recognition with more certain results.

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are more environment-friendly and sustainable solvents than ionic liquids (ILs). Determining their physical properties is vital prior to their application. However, it is not practical to experimentally determine the physical properties of all DESs. Therefore, developing models to estimate their physical properties is necessary. In this study, a generalized model using artificial neural network (ANN) was developed to predict the heat capacities of ammonium- and phosphonium-based DESs over the temperature range of 278.15 – 353.15 K at atmospheric pressure. The best ANN model developed from the training and optimization process has an architecture with two hidden layers of 7 and 6 neurons, respectively. The overall average absolute relative deviation of the proposed model from the data was 0.57%. Qualitative analyses suggest a promising predicting capability of the proposed model. The calculated values of the statistical descriptors are close to their ideal values. Therefore, the proposed model can be used to reliably predict the heat capacities of other ammonium- and phosphonium-based two-component DESs.

- Abstract
Within this text James Theodore Stillwell III extracts thought strands from profound thinkers such as Hume, Nietzsche, Kant A.J. Ayer, C.L. Stevenson, J. L. Mackie, Ragnar RedBeard, Peter Sjöstedt—H and interweaves them into a meta ethical tapestry that is a liberating—brutally honest red pill. Mixing non cognitivism, error theory, with projectivism, Stillwell puts forth a kind of moral nihilism (Power-Nihilism) that dispenses with both secular and theistic forms of moral realism. In the final chapter James articulates his qualified form of political nihilism and critiques such concepts as'Natural law'and'Natural Rights'along with a few other pivotal concepts within political theory. This book also covers such topics as the will to power, slave morality, bad conscience, the on going destruction of Western civilization, radical individualism, collectivism, egalitarianism, hierarchy and much more...
