When the rate of gases released into the atmosphere exceeds the safe level, the greenhouse effect occurs and the heat that cannot spread from the atmosphere to space with the greenhouse effect is trapped in the earth and causes global warming. In today's world, it has been discussed on various platforms since the 1980s that temperature increases and decreases will become more frequent, oceans will warm, sea levels will rise, and natural disasters will increase due to climate change. Many of the climatic changes claimed by scientists at various conferences have come true, the precipitation regime has changed, desertification has been observed and forest fires have increased. As a result of all these changes, water resources have been damaged, the life cycles of plants have started to change, and the possibility of climate migrations in the near future has increased considerably. International meetings have been organized to take measures against climate change and its consequences, to reduce and eventually eliminate these effects, and to determine a road map. In this direction, policies to be implemented in urban areas have been determined by prioritizing cities, which are responsible for a large part of carbon emissions. The main purpose of this study is to convey the adaptation problems of cities in Turkey to the policies determined against climate change. From this point of view, printed and electronic sources were reviewed and the findings obtained were evaluated within the framework of qualitative research method with an interpretive approach. As a result, as in most of the cities in other world countries, climate change policies in Turkish cities have not found much application area as a result of some inadequacies and reluctance in central and local governments.
