Faced with the increase of human activities that permanently alter nature, it is more and more necessary to educate people about the importance of protecting nature, including both the biotic and abiotic aspects. In this context, UNESCO Global Geoparks (UGGp) are reference territories to educate people about geodiversity and geoconservation in different environments. On the other hand, protected areas have great potential to develop and adapt the educational materials created by Geoparks due to the pedagogical value of these materials and the lack of activities focusing on these aspects. In this sense, this work aimed to identify the educational materials displayed on the UGGps websites and published papers and discuss the potential for adaptation and use of these materials in protected areas. For this purpose, we focused on searching educational materials in the official UGGps websites, Scopus database and Google Scholar. We consider that not all materials can be found, but we tried to identify as many as we could. The analysis of the educational materials revealed that most of them are lesson plans, playful and craft activities for children and field guides for teachers and students. Therefore, such materials have excellent potential to be applied to the educational context of protected areas.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technological paradigm involved in a diversity of domains with favorable impacts on people’s daily lives and the development of industry and cities. Nowadays, one of the most critical challenges is developing software for IoT systems since the traditional Software Engineering methodologies and tools are unproductive in the face of the complex requirements resulting from the highly distributed, heterogeneous, and dynamic scenarios in which these systems operate. Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) emerges as an appropriate approach to abstract the complexity of IoT systems. However, there are no domain-specific languages (DSLs) aligned to standardized reference architectures for IoT. Furthermore, existing DSLs have an incomplete language to represent the IoT entities that may be needed at the edge, fog, and cloud layers to monitor IoT environments. Therefore, this paper proposes a domain-specific language named Monitor-IoT, which supports developers in designing multi-layer monitoring architectures for IoT systems with high abstraction, expressiveness, and flexibility. Monitor-IoT consists of a high-level visual modeling language and a metamodel aligned with the ISO/IEC 30141:2018 reference architecture. In addition, it provides a language capable of modeling architectures with a wide variety of digital entities and dataflows (synchronous and asynchronous) between them across the edge, fog, and cloud layers to support the monitoring of a diversity of IoT scenarios. The empirical evaluation of Monitor-IoT through the application of an experiment, which contemplates the use of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), demonstrates the intention of the participants to use this tool in the future since they consider it easy to use and useful.

Web extensions are powerful software artifacts that allow end-users to adapt and enrich a website. These extensions run on the user's web browser as a single-user software that manipulates available third-party web contents. Many of them offer some collaborative features that depend on a web application. The need of two co-depending software artifacts (the web application as back-end and the web extensions as front-end) increases complexity, making the system harder to develop and maintain. In this paper we tackle this problem by proposing a P2P approach to build collaborative web extensions. The approach involves a middleware and a framework. On the one hand, the middleware serves to manage the resources offered by the browser so multiple P2P extensions can coexist. It ensures that the overall performance of the browser is not degraded by the collaborative web extension. On the other hand, the proposed framework is intended to allow developers without experience in P2P to create collaborative web extensions on top of the middleware. This paper discusses the main challenges of building P2P web extensions, presents the approach, and two case studies focused on the use of the framework for inexperienced developers.

Resumo Diante da profusão de respostas intelectuais à pandemia do Sars-Cov-2, este artigo propõe sistematizar algumas das publicações realizadas pelas ciências humanas nos meses de março a junho de 2020. Inicialmente pensado como conteúdo para estudantes dos cursos de graduação, foram lidos textos presentes no volume Sopa de Wuhan, no site n-1 edições, no “Observatório do CEMI - COVID-19” (CEMI/Unicamp), no Boletim Cientistas Sociais e o Coronavírus (Anpocs), e no site antropoLÓGICAS EPIDÊMICAS (UFRGS). A leitura dessa produção, marcada por textos relativamente curtos, em formatos variados, de rápida escrita e circulação, com caráter ora ensaístico, ora analítico, sugere dois principais eixos temáticos referentes 1) à problemática da escala; 2) à problemática do biopoder e dos governos. Ao fazer um recorte instantâneo das reações mais imediatas à crise, observamos perspectivas e conceitos-chave lançados pelas ciências humanas para compreensão do mundo contemporâneo.

Abstract INTRODUCTION: The genus Haemagogus Williston is restricted to Central America and North and middle of South America and it includes numerous species of yellow fever virus vectors. METHODS: Adult female and larvae mosquitoes were collected using hand aspirators and dipper and pipette, respectively. RESULTS: The first record of a species of Haemagogus and particularly of Haemagogus spegazzinii was from La Pampa, Argentina. With this registry, the number of species found in La Pampa province rises to 18. CONCLUSIONS: New information on breeding sites for the species and implications of this new record suggest a possible extension of distribution in the near future.

We report here three new mosquito records in the Yungas ecoregion [Culex (Culex) dolosus, Culex (Micro­culex) Pleuristriatus Series and Howardina sp.] and the expansion of the distributions of 17 species of the genera Anopheles, Culex, Aedes, Psorophora, and Toxorhynchites for Argentina. These findings broaden the total number of species recorded for northwestern Argentina to 174, from which number 57 species are distributed in the Tucumán province, 21 in the Catamarca, and 96 in the Salta. Also included is information on immature instars collected in phytotelmata.

Recopilación de los resúmenes de los trabajos presentados en las V Jornadas Regionales sobre Mosquitos, realizadas el 4 y 5 de octubre de 2007 en la Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Museo de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata.

The geographic distributions of Aedes casali, Ae. meprai, Culex acharistus, Cx. bidens, Cx. coronator, Cx. dolosus, Cx. saltanensis, Cx. imitator, Haemagogus janthin­omys and Psorophora cyanescens are extended. This contribution updates the mosquito fauna listed for Argentina, increasing the number of species for the provinces of Jujuy, La Rioja and Santiago del Estero from 55 to 62, 22 to 25 and 25 to 26, respectively. Data on collection localities, habitat of immature stages, and health importance are also presented.

Resumo Este texto trata dos trabalhos de Mariza Corrêa sobre a história da antropologia no Brasil. Nele, abordamos os eixos de interesses mais gerais e persistentes que marcaram sua reflexão, especialmente atenta, de um lado, ao processo de formação e desenvolvimento institucional da disciplina no país e, de outro, às inflexões de gênero na prática e na escrita da história da antropologia brasileira.

A decade and a half have passed since the last publication of the mosquito distribution list in Argentina. During this time several new records have been added, and taxonomic modifications have occurred at the genus and subgenus level. Therefore, considering these changes, I decided to create an updated list of the 242 species present in Argentina, along with their distributions by province. Two first records for Argentina (Culex lopesi and Cx. vaxus), two old records unregistered by authors (Cx. albinensis and Wyeomyia fuscipes), 13 new provincial records for 11 species (Cx. apicinus, Cx. bidens, Cx. eduardoi, Cx. lahillei, Cx. pipiens, Cx. tatoi, Cx. usquatus, Cx. imitator, Cx. oedipus, Sabethes chloropterus, and Wy. oblita), and the extension of distribution of other species are presented. The list of literature references for the documents concerning mosquitos is included.

Antecedentes. La invasión vascular extramural (IVE) en pacientes con cáncer rectal (CR) se asocia con tumores localmente avanzados siendo un factor de predicción independiente de recidiva local, recurrencia a distancia y pobre sobrevida global. Objetivo. Determinar la asociación entre IVE y metástasis hepáticas sincrónicas en pacientes con CR. Material y métodos. Se realizó un estudio de cohorte retrospectivo que incluyó una serie de pacientes con diagnóstico endoscópico e histológico de cáncer de recto medio e inferior a los cuales se les realizó un estudio de resonancia magnética (RM) para estatificación inicial desde enero de 2011 hasta enero de 2012 inclusive. A fin de evaluar la presencia o ausencia de metástasis hepáticas sincrónicas, se incluyeron únicamente a aquellos pacientes que habían realizado algún estudio por imágenes que evaluara el hígado durante 1 año posterior a la RM de inicio (enero de 2012 hasta enero de 2013 inclusive). Se realizó un análisis multivariado mediante regresión logística. Resultados. Se incluyeron 68 pacientes. Veinte pacientes desarrollaron metástasis hepáticas durante el período de observación (29,41%), de los cuales 15 presentaban signos de IVE por RM (75%). La incidencia de metástasis hepáticas sincrónicas tuvo una asociación marginalmente significativa con la presencia de IVE (RR 3,35, IC 95%: 1,0001-11,2187, P = 0,050). Conclusión. La presencia de IVE por RM es un factor de mal pronóstico dado que aumenta el riesgo de desarrollar metástasis hepáticas sincrónicas en pacientes con CR.

Model-Driven Web Engineering (MDWE) approaches aim to improve the Web applications development process by focusing on modeling instead of coding, and deriving the running application by transformations from conceptual models to code. The emergence of the Interaction Flow Modeling Language (IFML) has been an important milestone in the evolution of Web modeling languages, indicating not only the maturity of the field but also a final convergence of languages. In this paper we explain the evolution of modeling and design approaches since the early years (in the 90’s) detailing the forces which drove that evolution and discussing the strengths and weaknesses of some of those approaches. A brief presentation of the IFML is accompanied with a thorough analysis of the most important achievements of the MDWE community as well as the problems and obstacles that hinder the dissemination of model-driven techniques in the Web engineering field.

La resección total del mesorrecto (RTM) laparoscópica representa un desafío técnico, ya que implica la disección del recto en un espacio reducido como es el hiato pelviano empleando instrumental poco ergonómico. Esta dificultad se acentúa en pacientes con tumores distales e índice de masa corporal (IMC) elevado, factores que aumentan el riesgo de compromiso de márgenes quirúrgicos y lesión de plexos nerviosos. La cirugía robótica surge con el objetivo de superar las limitaciones que conspiran contra el abordaje mini-invasivo del cáncer de recto. Se presenta un hombre de 82 años con antecedentes de obesidad (IMC = 32 kg/m2) y cáncer de próstata, portador de un adenocarcinoma de recto a 9 cm del margen anal. Al tacto rectal presentaba una lesión móvil. Por tomografía computada se descartó enfermedad sistémica y la estadificación local mediante resonancia magnética nuclear evidenció una lesión T3-N0 con margen circunferencial libre. Se decidió tratamiento quirúrgico y se empleó una técnica híbrida combinando un abordaje laparoscópico seguido de la RTM robótica. El paciente evolucionó favorablemente y fue exter- nado al tercer día sin complicaciones. La anatomía patológica reveló un adenocarcinoma de bajo grado con invasión de la grasa mesorrectal, márgenes circunferencial y distal libres, y 24 ganglios negativos (pT3-pN0-pM0/Estadío II). La RTM asistida con tecnología robótica fue realizada de manera se- gura en un paciente obeso. Facilitó las maniobras de disección en un espacio reducido, con adecuada identificación y preservación de los plexos nerviosos, permitiendo obtener un mesorrecto íntegro. Los estudios prospectivos y aleatorizados en curso definirán el verdadero rol de esta nueva tecnología.

A partir de uma etnografia histórica da sociedade baiana de inícios do século XX, o artigo trata da trajetória social e familiar do jornalista, etnógrafo e folclorista Edison de Souza Carneiro (1912-1972). O foco do texto é duplo: de um lado, reconstruir a posição social e política dos Souza Carneiro nos espaços das elites dirigentes de Salvador, atentando-se aos efeitos dessa posição na forma como questões relativas à raça e à negritude da família foram vivenciadas por seus membros, e, de outro, desvelar como estas coordenadas de natureza familiar, política e étnica rebateram nos primeiros experimentos intelectuais de Edison Carneiro, no final de década de 1920.Based on an ethnography of the history of the early twentieth century Bahian society, the article addresses the social and familiar trajectory of the journalist, ethnographer, and folklorist Edison de Souza Carneiro (1912-1972). The paper's objectives are twofold: on the one hand, to reconstruct the social and political position of the Souza Carneiro family among the ruling elites of Salvador, especially regarding the effects of their race and blackness in their personal experience, and, on the other hand, to reveal how these familiar, political and ethnic experiences affected the early work of Edison Carneiro in the late 1920s.

Introducción. La hemorragia digestiva baja (HDB) masiva es un cuadro grave asociado a elevada mortalidad en pacientes hospitalizados con comorbilidades. Recientes publicaciones internacionales han destacado el rol de la embolización en el tratamiento de esta patología, aunque en Latinoamérica existe escasa experiencia. El objetivo de esta comunicación es describir una serie de casos tratados en la misma institución mediante embolización como tratamiento efectivo y seguro de la HDB masiva. Pacientes y métodos. Este es un estudio observacional descriptivo con inclusión prospectiva de pacientes con diagnostico clínico de HDB masiva, durante el período 2003-2009, en un hospital universitario de tercer nivel. La embolización fue realizada por cateterismo superselectivo luego de un abordaje percutáneo transfemoral. Resultados. Se incluyeron 26 pacientes (10 mujeres) con una edad media de 62 años (rango 2 a 92 años). Veinticinco (96%) pacientes tenían comorbilidades, incluyendo trastornos de la coagulación en 18 casos (69%). Todos los pacientes presentaron hematoquezia, hipotensión y/o shock hipovolémico con requerimiento transfusional de glóbulos rojos (media de 3,8 unidades, rango 2 a 12 unidades). La embolización fue efectiva para detener el sangrado en 24 pacientes (índice de éxito inmediato del 92%). No se observaron infartos digestivos ni complicaciones relacionadas al procedimiento. Conclusiones. La embolización superselectiva de la HDB masiva fue segura y efectiva en esta serie de pacientes. Se recomienda la embolización como tratamiento de elección para cohibir la HDB masiva en aquellos centros que cuenten con los recursos humanos y tecnológicos apropiados.

Antecedentes. En los pacientes con cáncer de recto sería útil contar con un método por imágenes que pudiera determinar la presencia de tumor residual postneoadyuvancia con el fin de establecer el planteo quirúrgico o la vigilancia. Objetivo. Describir el rol de la resonancia magnética con técnica de difusión (RMD) en la valoración de tumor primario residual (TPR) o respuesta patológica completa (RPC) post-neoadyuvancia en pacientes con cáncer rectal (CR). Material y métodos. Entre junio de 2009 y septiembre de 2010 se incluyeron 18 pacientes, 13 hombres y 5 mujeres, promedio de edad 58 años (rango 34-80 años), con CR localizado en el tercio medio e inferior, con estadio inicial T3-T4 o N positivo, definidos por examen físico (tacto rectal) y estudios por imágenes, RMD o tomografia computada multidetector (TCMD). Todos los pacientes recibieron neoadyuvancia previa a la cirugía. Posteriormente fueron reevaluados con una RMD utilizando una escala visual y otra cuantitativa para la medición del coeficiente de difusión aparente (ADC). Los resultados fueron comparados con la anatomía patológica (AP) como gold standard. Los estudios de RMD fueron realizados en un equipo Avanto, Siemens, de 1.5 T. Resultados. En la AP 15 de 18 pacientes presentaron TPR, mientras que 3 de 12 mostraron RPC. Cuando se empleó la RMD utilizando la escala visual se detectaron 14 de 15 pacientes con TPR mientras que al utilizar la escala cuantitativa todos los casos fueron detectados. En los pacientes con RPC por AP, la RMD con escala visual permitió detectar 2 de 3 casos, mientras que al emplear la escala cuantitativa en el ADC los 3 casos fueron detectados. Conclusiones. La RMD permitió una valoración adecuada de TPR y RPC post-neoadyuvancia en pacientes con CR, particularmente cuando se realizó la valoración cuantitativa del ADC, permitiendo mejorar los resultados obtenidos mediante el análisis visual cualitativo.

We present a preliminary list of the Culicidae species collected in seven localities at the province of Misiones, Argentina, since the mosquito fauna of this region is poorly known. Mosquito sampling was carried out during spring-summer, between August 2006 and January 2007, the months of highest abundance of these insects. Collection of specimens was made with a CDC-like trap (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) in peri-urban zones. Sixty-five species were identified. The geographic distribution of Anopheles darlingi, Uranotaenia davisi and Howardina fulvithorax is extended.

En este trabajo se presenta un marco de trabajo para caracterizar el bocetado de interacciones enactivas. Se pasa revista a los conceptos básicos de interfaces enactivas y al rol del bocetado para el diseño de interacciones. Luego se propone un marco de trabajo que organiza el bocetado en un mapa en dos dimensiones. En una se expresa la interactividad que corporizan las diferentes representaciones utilizadas por los diseñadores (bocetos 2D, maquetas y bocetos en hardware). La otra, organiza el rango de expresividad que esas representaciones alcanzan en términos de la experiencia de usuario. Las diferentes categorías de bocetos se vinculan en el marco propuesto mediante los atributos de la interactividad que busca el diseñador. Se presentan dos casos de estudio exploratorios sobre el uso de bocetos para la generación de ideas de interacciones enactivas. Finalmente, se esbozan los requerimientos que surgen para el desarrollo de herramientas que soporten el bocetado de interacciones enactivas.

RESUMEN. Se brinda un inventario preliminar de los insectos acuáticos de la Meseta del Somuncura y su área de influencia (Patagonia, Argentina) realizado sobre la base de colecciones y registros previos de especies pertenecientes a los órdenes Ephemeroptera, Odonata, Hemiptera (Heteroptera), Trichoptera, Diptera (familias Ceratopogonidae, Culicidae y Psychodidae) y Coleoptera. Se han relevado diversos tipos de ambientes en 14 localidades. El número de especies registrado asciende a 78, agrupadas en 51 géneros y 26 familias, de las cuales 33 se citan por primera vez del área. De los taxa registrados 83% de los géneros corresponden a grupos de amplia distribución (neotropicales, americanos o cosmopolitas), mientras que 41% de las especies presentan una distribución patagónica o andina.ABSTRACT. A preliminary inventory of the aquatic insects from the Somuncura plateau and its area of influence (Patagonia, Argentina) is presented. It was done on the basis of the study of collections and previous records of species belonging to the orders Ephemeroptera, Odonata, Hemiptera (Heteroptera), Trichoptera, Diptera (families Ceratopogonidae, Culicidae, and Psychodidae) and Coleoptera. Different kinds of environments were surveyed in 14 localities. Seventy eigth species grouped in 51 genera and 26 families were registered, and 33 species are new records for the area. Eighty three % of the registered genera are widely distributed (neotropical, american or cosmopolitan), while 41 % of the species exhibit patagonic or andean distribution.

The present investigation revealed the existence of hybrids belonging to the Culex pipiens Complex in four localities of La Pampa Province, Argentina, thus expanding the distribution of the hybrid form south to the northeast of that province. The identification was based on characters of the male genitalia and the siphonal index of the fourth-instar larval exuviae. A summary of the geographical distribution of species of Culex pipiens complex in Argentina is also presented here.
