The search-engine-based surveillance methods for the early warning and prediction of infectious diseases cannot achieve search engine keywords automatic filtering and real-time updating, lead to powerless for the early warning of emerging infectious diseases. The aim of this study is to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) method for search-engine-based surveillance to improve the early warning ability for emerging infectious diseases. The 32 keywords (444 million search queries) that may be related to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak was collected from December 18, 2019 to February 11, 2020 from Baidu's search engine database. The graph convolution network (GCN) model was used to select search engine keywords automatically, and then, multiple linear regression was performed to explore the relationship between the daily query frequencies of keywords and daily new cases. The GCN model was used to automatically select keywords. The prediction trend of the GCN model was highly consistent with the true curve with a mean absolute error of 81.65. Three keywords including "epidemic", "mask" and "coronavirus" were selected. The selection keywords in the search queries were highly correlated with the daily number of confirmed cases (r = 0.96, 0.94, and 0.89; P < 0.01). An abnormal initial peak (3.05 times the normal volume) in queries appeared on December 31, 2019, which could have served as an early warning signal for an outbreak. Of particular concern, 17.5% of query volume originated from the Hubei Province, 51.15% of which was from Wuhan City. The coefficients of determination (R2) of our constructed model were 0.88, 0.88, 0.84, 0.77, 0.77, 0.75, 0.73, and 0.73 for a time lag of 0–7 days, respectively, using selection keywords. The model we constructed was used in the Beijing Xinfadi outbreak as an independent test dataset, which successfully predicted the daily numbers of cases for the following days and detected an early signal during the Beijing Xinfadi outbreak (R2 = 0.79). In this paper search-engine-based surveillance based on the AI method was established for the early detection of the COVID-19 epidemic for the first time. Background: Fetal skeletal dysplasia is a diverse group of degenerative diseases of bone and cartilage disorders that can lead to movement disorder and even death. This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic yield of sonographic examination and genetic testing for fetal skeletal dysplasia. Methods: From September 2015 to April 2021, the study investigated 24 cases with suspected short-limb fetuses, which were obtained from Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. To identify the causative gene, multiple approaches (including karyotype analysis, copy number variations and whole exome sequencing) were performed on these fetuses. And further segregation analysis of the candidate variant was performed in parents by using Sanger sequencing. Results: ① Out of 24 cases, likely pathogenic variants in FGFR3, FBN2, COL1A2, CUL7 and DYNC2H1 were detected in 6 cases; pathogenic variants in FGFR3, IMPAD1 and GORAB were identified in other 6 cases; and variants in WNT1, FBN1, OBSL1, COL1A1, DYNC2H1 and NEK1, known as Variant of Undetermined Significance, were found in 4 cases. There were no variants detected in the rest 8 cases by the whole exome sequencing. ② Of 24 cases, 12 (50%) were found to carry variants (pathogenic or likely pathogenic) in seven genes with 12 variants. Four fetuses (16.7%) had variants of uncertain significance. Conclusion: Genetic testing combining with ultrasound scanning enhances the accurate diagnosis of fatal skeletal dysplasia in utero, and then provides appropriate genetic counseling. Although its theoretical and methodological applications have been discussed since the 1970s, the theoretical framework of the four basic systems of practice has not been widely used to analyze or explain critical real-world social work practice problems. This qualitative study adopted and advanced the four basic systems of practice framework to analyze the current status and future directions of trauma-informed social work service among COVID-19-affected communities in Wuhan, China. Fourteen frontline social workers who directly served COVID-19 survivors were recruited and completed semi-structured interviews. The analysis revealed that COVID-19 survivors experienced physical and psychological posttraumatic stress from their infection and, after recovery, trauma from discrimination in their communities and on the job market. Interviewed social workers reported a lack of power and skills to provide efficient and adequate services. The roles of the acting parties in the action systems were also identified. Building on these findings, this article proposes several key objectives in the target systems that could contribute to the develop future trauma-informed systems of social service practice. Since the outbreak of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Wuhan (China) in December 2019, the epidemic has rapidly spread to many countries around the world, posing a huge threat to global public health. In response to the pandemic, a number of clinical studies have been initiated to evaluate the effect of various treatments against COVID-19, combining medical strategies and clinical trial data from around the globe. Herein, we summarize the clinical evaluation about the drugs mentioned in this review for COVID-19 treatment. This study builds upon the traditional ecological footprint model by adding two new accounts of resource flows and using two new calculating method. This first account concerns water resources and accounts for water consumption in cities. The second account tracks basic types of pollutant accounts. Energy theory and net primary productivity were used to calculate the ecological footprint. Aiming at the problem of application in city, a city hectare spatial scale was used and a regional carrying capacity correction parameter was referenced. This framework provides insight into calculations of the bearing capacity of certain areas. The Wuhan City Circle was used as a case study with the objectives of calculating the ecological footprint and regional carrying capacity and analyzing its spatiotemporal evolution and capacity for sustainable development. The results indicated that from 2000 to 2015, the average annual rate of decline of the carrying capacity of the Wuhan City Circle was 9.18%, and from 2015 to 2017, the average annual rate of increase was 38.91%. The ecological footprints of fossil energy and build‐up land accounts increased over the years, exposing problems with land and energy utilization in the Wuhan City Circle. The continuous decline of the water resources carrying capacity reminds policy makers to pay attention to the protection of water areas. These results can help policy makers integrate historical data to adjust existing plans and make more specific future plans. Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the psychological status of and its influencing factors in health care workers (HCWs) during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak so as to provide sufficient theory and scientific basis for the formulation and implementation of relevant policies and measures in improving the psychological status of HCWs. Method: During February 1 to February 20, 2020, 1,002 members of the HCWs from Xi'an and Wuhan completed a 12-item questionnaire regarding pressure about the COVID-19 influenza pandemic, along with the 12-item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). The GHQ-12 scale was divided by three points. The positive group was scored more than 3. All data were analyzed by SPSS. Results: More than half of the participants (61.1%) reported psychological distress. The HCWs have sufficient information about the COVID-19 symptoms, prognosis, treatment, infection route, and preventive measures (medians ranged from 6/9 to 8/9). Female, engaged in clinic work less than 7 years, married person, and working in Wuhan were risk factors affecting the psychological status of HCWs (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Psychological distress is common in HCWs during the COVID-19 outbreak. Hospitals and relevant departments should provide psychological support to HCWs, and strict infection control measures should be developed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The rate of decline in the levels of neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) greatly varies among patients who recover from Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, little is known about factors associated with this phenomenon. The objective of this study is to investigate early factors at admission that can influence long-term NAb levels in patients who recovered from COVID-19. A total of 306 individuals who recovered from COVID-19 at the Tongji Hospital, Wuhan, China, were included in this study. The patients were classified into two groups with high (NAbhigh, n = 153) and low (NAblow, n = 153) levels of NAb, respectively based on the median NAb levels six months after discharge. The majority (300/306, 98.0%) of the COVID-19 convalescents had detected NAbs. The median NAb concentration was 63.1 (34.7, 108.9) AU/mL. Compared with the NAblow group, a larger proportion of the NAbhigh group received corticosteroids (38.8% vs. 22.4%, p = 0.002) and IVIG therapy (26.5% vs. 16.3%, p = 0.033), and presented with diabetes comorbidity (25.2% vs. 12.2%, p = 0.004); high blood urea (median (IQR): 4.8 (3.7, 6.1) vs. 3.9 (3.5, 5.4) mmol/L; p = 0.017); CRP (31.6 (4.0, 93.7) vs. 16.3 (2.7, 51.4) mg/L; p = 0.027); PCT (0.08 (0.05, 0.17) vs. 0.05 (0.03, 0.09) ng/mL; p = 0.001); SF (838.5 (378.2, 1533.4) vs. 478.5 (222.0, 1133.4) μg/L; p = 0.035); and fibrinogen (5.1 (3.8, 6.4) vs. 4.5 (3.5, 5.7) g/L; p = 0.014) levels, but low SpO2 levels (96.0 (92.0, 98.0) vs. 97.0 (94.0, 98.0)%; p = 0.009). The predictive model based on Gaussian mixture models, displayed an average accuracy of 0.7117 in one of the 8191 formulas, and ROC analysis showed an AUC value of 0.715 (0.657–0.772), and specificity and sensitivity were 72.5% and 67.3%, respectively. In conclusion, we found that several factors at admission can contribute to the high level of NAbs in patients after discharge, and constructed a predictive model for long-term NAb levels, which can provide guidance for clinical treatment and monitoring. Consumption of fish is one of the predominant sources of human exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs). In this study, the effect of various cooking methods (boiling, steaming, grilling and frying) on the levels of PFASs in fish muscle and the intake of PFASs was explored by using grass carp collected from Tangxun Lake, Wuhan, China. Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) was the predominant PFASs in raw fish fillets, with the concentrations ranging from 59.6 to 136 ng/g ww, followed by perfluorobutane sulfonate (PFBS) (7.73–51.9 ng/g ww). The concentrations of long-chain PFASs in fish increased after cooking, while those of short-chain PFASs decreased. The amounts of PFASs in the cooked fish fillets decreased except PFOS. Short-chain PFASs, including PFBS and perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA), were dominant in cooking juice. The highest amounts of PFBS in the juices were observed after boiling and frying, even higher than those in cooked fish fillets, suggesting that the release of short-chain PFASs to the cooking juices could not be neglected. Based on these results, the intake of short-chain PFASs amount through cooked fish fillets slightly decreased, but the intake of PFOS amount increased. However, consumption of cooking juice (fish soup) could increase the exposure risk of PFBS. Comprehensively considering the increase of PFOS and decrease of total PFASs, boiling may be the relatively better method to cook fish. As PFASs are ubiquitous and inevitable in aquatic food, it is thus important to choose appropriate cooking processes and dietary habits for reducing the intake of different PFASs from fish. The construction of metro line energy management center (MLEMC) is one of the important parts of metro line, which is the key organization to realize the energy consumption management of the metro operation. To protect the safety of adjacent high-rise buildings during the blasting of subway foundation pit engineering, it is crucial to study the response characteristics of building structures. This paper takes the MLEMC vertical pit blasting project of Wuhan Metro Line 8 as an example. The law of blasting vibration attenuation along the earth's surface and the vibration velocity response characteristics of the building structure were analyzed by small explosive test. LSDYNA numerical model was established, and the reliability of the model and parameters was verified by experimental data. Combined with the relevant specifications, the maximum charge in single delay was calculated and analyzed. The numerical model of the maximum charge in single was established, and the prediction model of the vibration velocity related to the floors of high-rise buildings was further proposed. • Urbanization level of Wuhan metropolitan area were assessed from 2000 to 2019. • The urbanization process was divided into four periods. • The evaluation index system of the water system pattern was established. • The downward trend of water system pattern indicators correlated with urbanization. • Correlation varied in different urbanization stages. With the rapid economic development and continuous urbanization, the status of river ecosystems is undergoing profound changes. Therefore, quantitative assessment of the impact of urbanization on the water system is highly desirable. Considering Wuhan metropolitan area as the study area, this study constructed an indicator system and used the entropy technique for order preference similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method to quantify the urbanization level of each city. The urbanization process was divided into four periods based on the results of the urbanization level measurement. Then, the theory of landscape ecology was used to establish the evaluation index system of the water system pattern. Finally, the study used the grey relational analysis model to analyze the relationship between urbanization and evolution of water patterns under different periods. The results indicate that (1) from 2000 to 2019, the urbanization level of Wuhan metropolitan area exhibited an increasing trend, while the four indicators of the quantitative attribute and the two indicators of complexity showed a decline. (2) A negative correlation was observed between urbanization level and water system pattern indicators, with the correlation ranging from 0.55 to 0.62 (maximum value is 1). The urbanization process shows the most significant impact on the quantitative characteristics of water systems. (3) After classifying the urbanization stages, the correlation further increased between 0.55 and 0.95. (4) The four indicators of water patterns with the highest correlation with urbanization in the given periods are class area, area-weighted mean patch fractal dimension, edge density, and number of patches. • Numerical simulation software was used to establish the numerical model of the ancient pagoda under the blasting load of the underpass tunnel. • The maximum primary stress and vibration velocity were analyzed by numerical modeling in order to safeguard historic structures. • The reason why the vibration velocity and stress of each part of irregular tower vary greatly is analyzed. • The safety of the ancient pagoda is assessed according to the relevant norms. In the blasting excavation project of the subway tunnel in the urban area, ensuring the safety of the surface buildings (structures) above the crossing area is the key concern. This paper is based on the blasting project of the ancient pagoda (Shengxiang Pagoda) under the tunnel between Pengliuyang Road Station and Simenkou Station of Wuhan Metro Line 5. To protect the integrity of the ancient buildings, this paper mainly adopts the numerical simulation method to analyze the dynamic response characteristics of the tower above the subway and realizes the safety assessment of the tower based on the maximum principal stress and vibration velocity control. The results show that the maximum error rate between the measured data and the numerical simulation results is only 11.9 %, which verifies the reliability of the numerical model and parameters. In the process of blasting vibration propagation, the vibration velocity of the tower body is affected by the whiplash effect and the elevation amplification effect. The vibration velocity of the tower bottom is 0.29 cm / s, and the vibration velocity of the tower tip reaches 4.29 cm / s. The vibration velocity of the upper part of the tower is much larger than that of the lower part. The stress distribution of the tower body is accompanied by stress concentration, with the maximum reaching 0.0442 MPa and the minimum only 0.014 MPa. The safety assessment of the ancient pagoda from the aspects of structural strength and vibration velocity can determine that the structure is safe under this condition. The research results are of great significance to the analysis of dynamic response characteristics and safety evaluation of ancient buildings under blasting load in urban complex environments.
