The article presents study which investigated the short-term impact of oxidizing iron (II) on sea trumpeter Therapon humeralis in seawater. The study collected sea trumpeter through beach seine from Whitfords beach near Perth, Western Australia and were preserved in filtered flowing seawater at the Western Australian Marine Research Laboratories. Results suggest that large accumulations of iron (III) oxide on sea trumpeter gills have contributed to the death of the fish.

The article presents a study on the cadmium (Cd) uptake of western rock lobster Panulirus cygnus. It states that lobsters from Five Fathom Bank near Fremantle, Western Australia, transported in aerated seawater to the laboratory aquarium, and were analyzed after 57 days of exposure to Cd-enriched food. The result showed that Cd was accumulated in the digestive gland, which prevent Cd from reaching the tail.
