Abstract

The article evaluates the Department of Health Internet-based Partner Notification (IPN) program of Washington, D.C. on early syphilis infections. It states that the evaluation makes use of the standard Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Disease Investigation Specialist (DIS) disposition codes. The study shows that 43% of the sex partners that are investigated are via IPN, which leads to an eight percent increase in the overall number of syphilis patients.
