The article presents a study on a survival from laryngeal cancer in England and Wales up to 2001. It notes on the changes in practice of diagnostic techniques between 1985 and 2001 such as routine use of the flexible laryngoscope in ENT outpatients and advances in computed tomography and adoption of various therapeutic advances with improved standards of diagnosis. However, it suggests on further and prospective studies to examine these contributions important for future management care.

The author reflects on the new post-Certificate of Specialist Training (CCT) posts in England and Wales that will entertain interviewees for September and October 2008. He expects CCT to be an ideal solution for the ideated shortage of training years of surgeons because it will provide trainees minimum but high standards of education. He adds that post-CCT will support and encourage more trainees to become efficient with their career.
