The article provides an overview on the legal system of Venezuela. It notes that the system is basically a code law system in which the jurist is a confirmer of the written code. It also mentions on the internal conflicts that prevented the enactment of codes including Commercial Code, Civil Code, and Code of Civil Procedure wherein all underwent significant reforms. Moreover, even the country ran a parallel organization of courts, the judicial system did not have an independent power.
