The experiment was conducted at the Acarology Laboratory, Department of Entomology and Agricultural Zoology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. The results of morphometric measurements revealed that the mean egg length and breadth were 0.58 and 0.33 mm, respectively. The mean length of different instars namely first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth was found to be 1.15, 1.36, 2.79, 4.98, 5.79 and 8.43 mm, respectively and the average breadth was 0.16, 0.23, 0.33, 0.67, 0.84 and 1.46 mm, respectively. The mean length of the pupa was 8.04 mm, and the breadth was 1.23 mm. The mean measurement across the expanded wings of male moths was 17.44 mm and in females it was 19.17 mm, whereas the mean body length of males was 9.43 mm and in females, it was 10.22 mm. A field experiment was conducted at the Vegetable Research Farm, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi during Rabi 2022-23 to study the effect of weather parameters on the incidence of sucking insect pests infesting brinjal. Aphids, Jassids and Whitefly were the main sucking pests infesting brinjal during the period of study. The aphid began appearing from the last week of November and the incidence increased up to the mid of February. Infestation of jassid and whitefly started in the first week of December and the incidence increased up to the end and mid of February, respectively. Correlation of the population data with the meteorological parameters revealed that all the three insects showed non-significant negative correlation with rainfall. Temperature (maximum, minimum and average) also showed negative correlation, significant in the case of whitefly and non-significant for aphid and jassid. Aphid population had a non-significant positive correlation with morning, evening and average relative humidity. Evening and average RH also showed a non-significant positive correlation with jassid population, but morning RH was negatively correlated. Whitefly incidence was also positively correlated with RH, significant in the case of evening RH and non-significant for morning and average RH. An experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Research Farm, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India from November 2019 to March 2020 at eight locations. The experiments were conducted for seasonal responses of Chrysanthemum aphids and thrips. The first incidence of aphids on chrysanthemum plants was observed in the month of November at 46th Standard meteorological week (SMW) and attained its peak in January at 4th SMW. In the case of flower thrips, the first incidence was observed on 46th SMW and attained its peak at 4th SMW. The correlation analysis of aphids with weather parameters exhibited a significant negative correlation with temperature (minimum, maximum and average) whereas, negative and non-significant correlations were found with humidity (morning, evening and relative) and rainfall. The correlation analysis of thrips with weather parameters exhibited a significant negative correlation with temperature (minimum, maximum and average), whereas, it showed a negative non-significant correlation with morning relative humidity, average relative humidity and rainfall, but a non-significantly positive correlation with evening relative humidity.
