Turkey is ranking the first in the world production of seedless raisins in the world with a 24.64% share in the 2016/2017 production season. The subsequent producers are the USA, China, Iran, and Uzbekistan. Depending on the climate factors, there have been yearly fluctuations in the production of world seedless raisins. Despite the number of seedless raisins exported are highly year dependent, it is about 750 000 tons in the world, 34% of which belong to Turkey. At the same time, with the export rate of approximately 85% of the raisins produced; Turkey is a key country in the world seedless raisins market. In terms of the exported amount, Iran, the USA, Uzbekistan, and Chile follow Turkey. Seedless raisins are usually exported out from Izmir, Turkey. It is also traded on the Izmir Commodity Exchange, and the market is taking place there. Turkey's main problems in the production of seedless raisins; climate-dependent fluctuation in raisins production in differing years, excessive pesticide residues in the products, lacking efficiency and number of producer organizations. In this study; seedless raisins production of Turkey and the world were elucidated along with the structure of the international market and consequently, the required policies in order to increase Turkey's raisins export were suggested.
