The article provides information on how to create a hardware solution to perform the required curve fitting for a nonlinear sensor, instead of using a software linearization algorithm in the U.S. The author stated one of the circuit that may address to the system is the use of type-E thermocouple to measure temperatures that are expected to vary from 0°C to 500°C. In addition, one may also use an Excel spreadsheet to create the nonlinear mathematical relationship between the output of the thermocouple amplifier and the input to the analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
