SWIMMING competitions - Abstract
The article reports that the U.S. swimming team has performed well in the Amateur Athletic Union Championships held in Lincoln, Nebraska. Debbie Meyer won in the 400-meter freestyle with a world record time of 4 minutes and 26.7 seconds. She also won in the 1,500 meters, setting a world 800 mark. However, she was defeated in the 200-meter freestyle by Eadie Wetzel. Ralph Hutton and Mike Burton won in the 400-meter freestyle. Catie Ball won a gold medal in the breast-stroke relay.
