This article presents information on top twelve swimmers from around the world. The six men and women who comprise "Swimming World" Magazine's first-ever World Masters Swimmers of the Year are a diverse group, ranging in age from 38 to 91, they include four who were Olympians, three with only modest pre-Masters experience and one whose first race came at the age of 65. The dynamic dozen hail from six different countries, four are from the U.S., three from Great Britain, two from Japan and one each from Italy. Nick Gillingham has been swimming Masters for six years and, though rheumatoid arthritis and his duties as the director of Sports Communication Group Ltd. limit his workouts to short yardage only three days a week, he still managed to set five impressive world records for men 35-39 in 2004
