The article examines the impact of conservation incentive programs on sustaining wildlife values in the U.S. There are several conservation incentive programs in the U.S., including the Forest Stewardship Program, the Forest Land Enhancement Program and the Crop Reserve Program. The 1990 Farm Bill in the U.S. showed that conservation incentive programs such as these were expected to address a broad spectrum of multiple-use natural resource activities. The authors also estimate the effectiveness of various conservation incentive programs in achieving wildlife sustainability and objectives.
