This paper looks at three areas impacting online education at the community college level. Community colleges account for more than half of all online students in the United States as of 2006. This makes the success of online learning at the community college level a critical part of the growing online learning movement. Using data for postsecondary education in general, and where available, community colleges in particular, this paper will look at the issues that impact student success in online courses, issues that impact the faculty's ability to successfully transition learning to an online format, and issues that college administrators must consider to facilitate a successful transition. Only by understanding and addressing all three areas will online education at the community college level be successful.

Training for interprofessional collaboration is important because professionals are increasingly required to work together in a coordinated and collaborative manner to meet the complex needs of clients. However, few published reports exist on interprofessional training for community counselors and marriage and family therapists. The authors discuss the use of a mock interdisciplinary staffing with students who are training to be counselors and marriage and family therapists. This method of instruction holds promise as an effective means of introducing students to a range of issues, including the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for interprofessional practice.

The aim of the educational system in Victoria, Australia, is the integration of all students, both disabled and nondisabled, into regular classrooms, while the United States' aim is placement in the least restrictive environment. The article presents some comments on the proposed federal rules of criminal procedure. The proposed Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure present a matter of immense importance to the fair and efficient administration of criminal justice. On numerous questions the practice of various districts and circuits is in conflict. Existing legislation is fragmentary, and has not been periodically revised in any systematic way to conform to experience. The highly technical and specialized nature of the problems involved hardly recommends the ordinary processes of legislation as a means of rule revision. The judicial process as exercised in particular cases, on the other hand, is necessarily limited to dealing with specific situations, as they chance to arise. A judicial proceeding involves something more than adjudication of a particular case. It is also a public demonstration of a conception of law and of a political system. Confidence in the integrity of judicial proceedings, and in the capacity of the system to protect individual rights against arbitrary encroachment, is thus a sine qua non of democracy.

This article focuses on the enforcement of criminal laws in the U.S. in times of war. Vast files of information was collected about residents of this country whose conduct or utterance indicated that if war came they ought at least to be watched. Some of these were aliens, some were naturalized citizens, and some were native-born citizens. As for alien enemies, denaturalization program was initiated which provided for the internment of those regarded as a threat to internal security. Fraud in naturalization may of course be proved by conduct subsequent to naturalization from which the courts may infer a fraudulent intent at the time of naturalization. There are about seventeen hundred cases under consideration and investigation for denaturalization. The statute allows the defendant to a cancellation proceeding sixty days in which to answer the petition which to some extent slows down these cases, but there should be many actions of this type completed within the next few months. When the citizenship is finally revoked, the persons concerned are apprehended under the Alien Enemy Control program.
