The article discusses a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies which investigated the effect of alcohol consumption on biomarkers associated with coronary heart disease risk. The review compared mean change in the levels of biomarkers after a period of alcohol use and a period of no alcohol consumption. The systematic review revealed that moderate alcohol use produced favorable changes in the levels of selected biomarkers, increasing the levels of adiponecti and high density lipoprotein cholesterol and decreasing the levels of fibrinogen.

The article discusses a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies about the link between alcohol consumption and reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases. The study evaluated the association of alcohol consumption with mortality for overall cardiovascular diseases, as well mortality from and incidence of coronary heart disease and stroke. The systematic review and meta-analysis found that light to moderate drinking of alcoholic beverage is associated with a reduced risk of multiple cardiovascular disease outcomes.
