Background: Since human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is known as one of the main causes of cervical cancer, medical researchers pay significant attention to this issue2. The current study applies the bibliometric method to identify the trends and advancements of research on HPV worldwide. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted using a bibliometric approach. All HPV-related scientific publications in the Web of Science database until 2022, August 30 were included in the statistical population. The Bibliometrix package of the R programming language was used to analyze the data. Results: In the field of HPV, a total of 45,657 scientific publications were retrieved, the majority of which were articles. The countries with the highest publications were the USA (45,954 document), China (9977), and UK (6652). The words "Infection," "Cancer," and "Women" are the most important keywords of scientific publications on HPV. "Cancer," "infection," and "women" are the more developed and essential in HPV subject area. "Protein," "gene-expression," and "human-keratinocytes" are in this quadrant. "DNA," "squamous-cell carcinoma," and "head" keywords are basic themes in the HPV subject area. "Human-papillomavirus vaccination," "knowledge," and "attitude" are in this quadrant. Conclusion: The study suggests the need to enhance the focus on global and public health aspects within HPV research to encourage greater participation from various countries in international research endeavors. Background: Technology has the potential to remotely monitor patient safety in real-time that helps staff and without disturbing the patient. However, staff and patients' perspectives on using passive remote monitoring within an inpatient setting is lacking. The study aim was to explore stakeholders' perspectives about using Oxehealth passive monitoring technology within a high-secure forensic psychiatric hospital in the UK as part of a wider mixed-methods service evaluation. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with staff and patients with experience of using Oxehealth technology face-to-face within a private room in Broadmoor Hospital. We applied thematic analysis to the data of each participant group separately. Themes and sub-themes were integrated, finalised, and presented in a thematic map. Design, management, and analysis was meaningfully informed by both staff and patients. Results: Twenty-four participants were interviewed (n = 12 staff, n = 12 patients). There were seven main themes: detecting deterioration and improving health and safety, "big brother syndrome", privacy and dignity, knowledge and understanding, acceptance, barriers to use and practice issues and future changes needed. Oxehealth technology was considered acceptable to both staff and patients if the technology was used to detect deterioration and improve patient's safety providing patient's privacy was not invaded. However, overall acceptance was lower when knowledge and understanding of the technology and its camera was limited. Most patients could not understand why both physical checks through bedroom windows, and Oxehealth was needed to monitor patients, whilst staff felt Oxehealth should not replace physical checks of patients as reassures staff on patient safety. Conclusions: Oxehealth technology is considered viable and acceptable by most staff and patients but there is still some concern about its possible intrusive nature. However, more support and education for new patients and staff to better understand how Oxehealth works in the short- and long-term could be introduced to further improve acceptability. A feasibility study or pilot trial to compare the impact of Oxehealth with and without physical checks may be needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Coastal vulnerability and its physical, economic and social consequences at national and international scales is of high scientific, political and policy interest. Anthropogenic climate change and coastal erosion threaten the very fabric of a society. Indications, that coastal hazards are impacting diverse coastal areas severely across the world, and it is no longer a vague future threat that can't be ignored. Rising eustatic sea levels synthesized by the growing frequency and scale of coastal hazards like storm surges, coastal erosion and coastal landslides threaten low-lying and unprotected coastal areas in the United Kingdom even if they have coastal defenses. However, there is still significant uncertainty about the degree of vulnerability along different coastal stretches, particularly in England. To fill this uncertainty, the current study estimated the coastal vulnerability of the coastal erosion hotspot Camber, England, by establishing a coastal vulnerability index. This index was developed by compounding various existing parameters and termed as Erosion Coastal Vulnerability Index (ECVI). Results illustrate that 67% of coastal area fall between high and very high vulnerability categories, and current coastal defenses are not strong enough to tackle the severe coastal erosion in Camber. Within the evaluation, thematic maps were generated to enable the intensity of the vulnerability for different coastal stretches to be identified. The evaluated vulnerable hotspot should be treated urgently by regional and national policy organizations to ameliorate the impacts of coastal erosion and other associated risks. Without action, the hotspot is likely to encounter unprecedented new vulnerabilities, disasters and humanitarian catastrophes. Purpose In this study, we conducted quantitative analysis of 1706 scholarly literature published in Journal of Documentation during the period of 1970 to 2019 (fifty years) using a series of scientometric indicators. Annual scientific production, most local cited sources, the ranking of authors; profiles, contributions, correlation, collaboration and authorship pattern, most contributed countries, most cited articles, frequently used search terms/keywords, and the legend of historiographic mapping were analysed in detail to measure the impact of the source. Design/methodology/approach We used the Scopus database for retrieving the desired sample data. In total, 1,706 numbers of publications records were considered for the literature analysis considering their relevancy. Biblioshiny data visualization tool is used to create the various maps. Findings The present study found that annual scientific production and average citations constantly have had an uptrend. The journal's had tremendous impact with an h-index of 80, with a g-index of 148, total citations of 37,161 within the studied period. Although Bawden D contributed the highest number of research papers (n=78), the work published by Hjørland B received the highest citations. Lotka's Law reveals that about 75.04% of the authors (1319 authors) have one publication, and approximately 12.73% of the authors (225 authors) have two publications. The United Kingdom was the dominant country in terms of number of papers and citation count whereas University of Sheffield topped with 128 publications. The thematic map consists of eleven clusters and 'information retrieval' found to be the largest cluster comprehending 56 subthemes occurring 995 times. Co-citation network identified four clusters with revealing Wilson TD as the most cited authors. The study also indicates the most collaborative authors are from the United Kingdom. Research limitations/implications The study exclusively deals with 1732 published research literature indexed in the Scopus database covering a span of fifty years (from 1970 to 2019). Thus, documents which are not covered in Scopus are excluded from the purview of research. This study is significant in order to measure the impact of Journal of Documentation and useful to identify valuable research patterns from publications and of developments in the field of Information Science. Introduction: Medical career preferences are influenced by a multitude of factors. Currently several specialties are undergoing recruitment problems; we must develop our understanding of medical career decision-making to ensure the production of an appropriate workforce. We aimed to explore the changing career preferences of students during medical school, to better understand this. Methods: This was an interpretivist, qualitative study. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with seven final-year students to explore why their career preferences had changed during medical school. Transcripts of these interviews were thematically analysed. Results: Three overarching themes emerged from the analysis: The 'influence of medical school', 'perceived suitability to specialty' and 'belonging and fitting in'. A thematic map captured the participants' perceptions on why their preferences had changed, with major influences echoing existing research. However, novel findings included participants' personalities and enthusiasm changing over time, the need for a 'sense of belonging' and participants defining the term 'variety' uniquely, perceiving their current specialty preference to match their definition. Discussion: This was an original, in-depth study on changing career preferences, which is an ill-defined subject within the literature. Analysis revealed preferences changed for a variety of medical school, personal and specialty reasons, leading to the construction of an updated model of medical career decision-making. Medical career preference remains a dynamic and ever-evolving phenomenon, influenced by an intricate interplay of internal and external factors. The article presents a study that examines the significance of creative thinking in addressing the challenges of epidemiologists who explored spatial patterns. An overview of the adaptive, visualization for electronic science (ADVISES) visualization tool carried out by academic epidemiologists and public health practitioners in the UK National Health Service (NHS) is also discussed. Findings of the study suggest the appropriate use of the software to build excellent thematic maps.

Maps of a range of human health related surface ozone metrics for the UK have been generated using empirical measurements based models for the years 1995, 2003 and 2005. These years have been chosen to illustrate two recent years with higher and lower photochemical ozone contributions (2003 and 2005) and a year with higher photochemical ozone contributions combined with higher urban NO emissions (1995). A comparison of monitoring data with a transect of mapped values for London suggests that the empirically generated maps include a reasonably realistic description of the regional ozone concentrations and of the urban decrements of ozone concentrations. Estimates of the health impacts associated with ozone have been calculated from the mapped concentrations and are highly dependent on the metric chosen and thus on the implicit assumptions concerning the threshold concentration for effect (0, 70 or 100μgm−3). The year of maximum health impact is also dependent on the metric used. Estimated derived from the annual mean of the daily maximum of the running 8-h mean concentration with a cut-off of 0μgm−3 vary little from year-to-year, while the greatest impact was estimated to be in 1995 for annual mean of the daily maximum of the running 8-h mean concentration with a cut-off of 100μgm−3. Estimates derived from the annual mean of the daily maximum of the running 8-h mean concentration with a cut-off of 70μgm−3 were greatest in 2003, reflecting the fact that this metric (closely related to the SOMO35 metric adopted for European scale integrated assessment modelling) is influenced by both the magnitude of summer photochemical ozone episodes and the extent of titration with local NO emissions (the urban decrement). The models used should be applicable across much of NW Europe and other locations where there is little or no urban scale photochemical generation of ozone. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

This paper examines trends in internal migration flows within England and Wales. Spatial trends are presented using tables and thematic maps. Temporal trends are presented more efficiently using a contemporary visualisation method, the heat map. Sample data from the National Health Service Central Registrar (NHSCR) are presented and discussed as a case study. The analysis includes in‐, out‐ and net migration, as well as migration flows, for the Newcastle district. It also considers the Family Health Service Authorities (FHSAs) that are net migration losers and gainers. In addition to the methodological contribution of this work, conclusions are drawn on temporal trends, the degree of dispersal in migration linkages, and the continuation of the counterurbanisation phenomenon in the 1990s. This paper examines issues surrounding the detection, measurement and characterisation of landscape changes by remote sensing and other means. First it compares the remotely sensed Land Cover Map of Great Britain (LCMGB), 1990, with the UK Land Cover Map 2000 (LCM2000). Then it considers the more general circumstances where users compare any two thematic maps incorporating independent inaccuracies, to record changes. The paper concludes that the measurement of small to medium scale changes over large areas requires levels of precision in mapping which are near impossible to achieve with satellite image classifications alone; indeed they may be difficult to achieve in any form of survey unless it is tailor-made and rigorously applied specifically to the recording of real changes. The paper argues that users of all such data products therefore need to treat with extreme caution their maps of differences and their conclusions about change. It suggests that users need also to develop intelligent approaches, which draw upon a broader knowledge of the directions, patterns and scale of the changes to be recorded, in order to refine their assessments.
