First world countries are those that are highly industrialized, have high per capita incomes in relation to most other countries, high levels of education, and other economic and social attributes one might expect from nations such as Australia, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, France (in fact, virtually all of Western Europe), Japan, the United States, and a few other countries. These countries are also referred to as the highly industrialized countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
