This research examines the horsecar that developed as an alternative to the urban transportation system after the construction of the Anatolian-Baghdad Railway line to the city center of Konya, which is located on the central plateau of Anatolia, in 1896. After the arrival of the railways in Konya, while there were significant economic and social developments in its appendage with the city center, a modernization practice was also followed in urban transportation. The construction of the Konya train station at a certain distance from the city center in the relevant period brought about the problem of the transportation of passengers and commercial commodities and this situation prepared the emergence process of the horsecar that was not experienced in Konya and its surroundings until that period. Before the horsecar, single horse and spring carriages and coaches were used for passenger transportation in Konya city center, while horse carriages were generally used for the transportation of commercial goods. It is understood that this process has changed with the construction and opening of the horsecar. In order to understand this change process, a number of factors such as the establishment of the horsecar company, the construction of the line and the opening of the line to the operation and the effect of the line on the urban space were examined in our research and the importance of the horsecar in the history of the city was tried to be revealed. This study focuses on The Oriental Carpet Manufacturers Limited [OCM], which plays an important role in the production and trade of Ottoman carpets as well as the marketing and export of Anatolian carpets to foreign markets. OCM, played an active role in the Anatolian Carpets from 1908 to the First World War and was able to reach a remarkable production volume in this process thanks to the agencies and workshops it established in various parts of Anatolia. In this success of OCM, six founding companies that make up this company and OCM's home employment system [putting - out], which is applied in carpet production, have an important role. OCM, also took the carpet raw materials into hegemony with the production facilities it established in Bandırma Beyköy and Izmir Mortakia and in this sense, it became a monopoly in carpet making. Moving marketing strategies, which are changed through digital channels, into the social media environment, has led to changes in customer preferences in the tourism sector and is affected by the comments made in social media. Despite the fact that numerous studies have examined the impact of online customer comments on purchasing behaviour, most of these studies have used descriptive statistics and have ignored the empirical estimations. This study is aimed at examining the influence of the criteria obtained by content analysis on the star ratings given to the hotels based on the comments about the hotel on the TripAdvisor site. In this context, Mediterranean region hotels, which hold an important place in the tourism sector of Turkey, have been viewed, and the 25 hotels with the highest number of comments on the TripAdvisor site were selected, and 9000 comments from these hotels as well as the topic of the study were analysed with panel data methodology. As a result of the analyses made, it was determined that the criteria of the location and the accessibility of the hotels, the food and beverage concept presented by the hotels, the quality of the personnel–service, the cleaning elements, and the entertainment–animation programs were influential on the star ratings given to the hotels. It was also found that the architectural structure of the hotels and the other customers' recommendation criteria are less important than the star ratings given to the hotel when compared to other specified criteria.
