Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common and heritable neurodevelopmental disorders which may last through the life-span. A consensus report on diagnosis and management of ADHD among Turkish youth was prepared previously. However, the participants as well as the management options were rather limited and developments in the past decade necessitated a revision and update of the consensus. Therefore, this review aims to summarize the consensus among Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists from Türkiye on the nature andmanagement of pediatric ADHD. For those aims, the etiology of ADHD, diagnostic and evaluation process, epidemiology, developmental presentations, differential diagnoses and comorbidities, course/outcome and pharmacological as well as non-pharmacological management options were reviewed and suggestions for clinical practice are presented. Since ADHD is a chronic disorder with wide-ranging effects on functionality that is frequently accompanied by other mental disorders, a multidimensional therapeutic approach is recommended. However, since the disorder has neurobiological basis, pharmacotherapy represents the mainstay of treatment. Additional therapies may include psychosocial therapy, behavioral therapy, school-based therapeutic approaches, and family education. This review provides recommendations for ADHD at the national and global levels. It contains information about ADHD that will contribute to and facilitate clinicians' decision-making processes. The National HIV/AIDS Congress, organized every year by the Turkey HIV/AIDS Platform, which was formed by the five physician associations operating in the field of HIV infection in Turkey, was held in Antalya on 24-27 November 2022. This congress, AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases Association (AIDS and STD Association), HIV/AIDS Prevention and Education Association (HAKED), HIV Infection Association (HIVEND), Turkish Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist Association (EKMUD) and Turkish Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (KLİMİK) Association. In addition, the Red Ribbon Association, Positive-iz Association, and Positive Living Association, three subject associations operating in the field, contributed. This report aims to summarize the data presented by the health professionals, health authorities, and non-governmental organizations working at the forefront of the response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in our country, their shares and discussions during the congress, and to determine the needs by analyzing the current situation in our country in the light of these. Bovine ephemeral fever (BEF) is a vector-borne disease of ruminants in tropical and subtropical areas, leading to significant economic losses to the cattle and milk industry in many countries, including Turkey. Cattle showing high fever, stagnation, and recumbency have been extensively reported in Turkey's south and south eastern regions in 2020. Here, the genetic analysis and molecular epidemiology of the virus obtained from the last BEF outbreak were investigated. Of 32 symptomatic cattle selected from three provinces in Turkey, 23 were positive for bovine ephemeral fever virus (BEFV), and three entire G genes were identified by sequencing. The new BEFV isolates were genetically similar to some Turkish and Israeli isolates from 2008 and 2012 (>98 nucleotide (nt), 97% amino acid (aa)), and phylogenetic analysis based on the surface glycoprotein (G) gene revealed that BEFV isolates are of Middle Eastern origin. The G protein amino acid alignment showed that BEFV circulated in the same region with minor differences over the years. In this context, we recommend closely monitoring BEF outbreaks in neighbouring countries and prompt vaccination of susceptible cattle in areas at risk for BEFV in Turkey in the event of an outbreak. After Adolf Hitler became prime minister in 1933 in Germany, various reactions have emerged against this situation in the world and Europe. The reactions that emerged in Europe increased in 1935, and within this framework, bilateral or multiple alliance systems were started to be established between European states. The main purpose of these alliance systems is to prevent Germany from violating the Versailles Treaty and to prevent its revisionist policies. Turkey has felt the need to develop policies against changes that may occur by closely monitoring these developments. In this context, Mehmet Emin Ali Türkgeldi, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, prepared a general report that also discussed the developments in Europe, taking into account the evaluations from the Turkısh embassies in various European capitals. This report was also approved by Numan Menemencioğlu, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Menemencioğlu added some analysis to the report. Both the name of the detection and evaluation of these issues form the basic approach of Turkey's foreign policy. In the article, the important developments that took place in Europe in the first half of 1935 and how Türkgeldi and Menemencioğlu evaluated these developments were discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The world has become bipolar right after WWII. The democratic US on the one side, and the communist USSR, on the other, tried to dominate the World. In this rivalry, some states sided with the US and some others with the USSR. The post-WWII period witnessed several developments initiated both by the US and the USSR. The US declared "the Truman Doctrine" which was a life saver for Turkey and Greece against the Soviet threat, and then activated "the Marshall Plan" aiming at strengthening Europe economically. The Marshall Plan was declared in order to prevent the Soviet influence in these countries which were not yet controlled by the USSR. The US has invited the European countries to be part of the plan. Some countries in Europe which were under the Soviet control have refused this invitation, the other countries have declared that they are willing to benefit from the plan. The aim of the Conference for European Economic Cooperation (CEEC) which assembled in July 1947 was to report the needs of the countries that will benefit from the Marshall Plan. Turkey has declared that it will benefit from the Marshall Plan and participate in the CEEC. Ali Rıza Türel, the Konya deputy of the Republican People's Party (CHP) was a member of the delegation that went to Conference. He presented his opinions about the congress to the government as a report. In his report, Türel explained the reasons for the announcement of the Marshall Plan by the US, the organizational structure and the working phases of the CEEC. Türel also gave detailed information on the general report laid out at the conference and evaluated the report from the stand point of Turkey. The main aim of this study is to put forward information given by Türel and his personal assessments on the Marshall Plan, the CEEC and their impacts on Turkey. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Therapeutic apheresis is an extracorporeal treatment that selectively removes abnormal cells or harmful substances in the blood that are associated with or cause certain diseases. During the last decades the application of therapeutic apheresis has expanded to a broad spectrum of hematological and non-hematological diseases due to various studies on the clinical efficacy of this procedure. In this context there are more than 30 centers performing therapeutic apheresis and registered in the apheresis database in Turkey.
