This study aims to conduct the Turkish adaptation, validity, and reliability study of the Theory of Mind Inventory-2 (TOMI-2) developed by Hutchins and Prelock (2016) for 3-5-year-old children. The study group consists of 310 mothers with children in the 3-5 age group in Konya city center. Personal Information Form and Theory of Mind Inventory-2 (TOMI-2) were used as data collection tools in the study. After the TOMI-2 was translated into Turkish, the normality assumption was checked with the "Shapiro-Wilk" test. The relationship between two continuous variables was evaluated with the Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Content Validity, Criterion Validity, and Reliability analyses were also used in the study. The findings of the analyses show that the Turkish version of the TOMI-2 is a valid and reliable measurement tool for children aged 3-5, with 60 items in the original form. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim Design Methods Results Conclusion Patient or Public Contribution To develop the nurses' attitudes towards use of a telehealth scale (NATUTS) and evaluate its psychometric properties.This methodological study involved two stages: the development of the NATUTS and the testing of the psychometric properties of NATUTS. We followed STROBE guidelines when reporting the study (File S1).Items for NATUTS were created using evidence from the literature and presented to eight experts. The scale was tested in a methodological study conducted through a face‐to‐face survey with nurses working in outpatient and inpatient units of a tertiary hospital in Türkiye. Psychometric properties of the scale, such as structural validity, content validity and internal consistency reliability, were tested. The sample, consisting of 630 nurses, was divided into two separate random groups. Exploratory factor analysis was conducted with the data of the first 330 people, and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted with the data of the remaining 300 people.A 19‐item, three‐factor structure (Satisfaction, Rejection, Development) was obtained in the newly developed scale. In NATUTS, Factor 1 (α = .93), Factor 2 (α = .86) and Factor 3 (α = .87) measured 64.4% of the total variance. The entire 19‐item acceptability survey showed good internal consistency. NATUTS is a brief survey based on research evidence validated in a large Turkish sample.Findings show that NATUTS has acceptable content and structural validity and is reliable in measuring nurses' attitudes towards the use of telehealth. However, there is no measurement tool developed for intensive care patients that examines the risks of ocular complications.This study aimed to develop a valid and reliable tool, the Critically Ill Patient Eye Assessment Scale (CIPEAS), for assessing the risk of ocular complications and determining the frequency of eye care.This study is an instrument development study. This methodological study was conducted with 151 intensive care patients in Turkey between March 2022 and March 2023. Data were collected with the Patient Information Form and the CIPEAS. The data were evaluated using SPSS 23 statistical software. AMOS 21 was used to verify the structure obtained with CFA. Exploration and confirmatory factor analyses were performed to determine the scale's factorial structure.As a result of exploratory factor analysis, a six‐item scale consisting of a single dimension was obtained, explaining 59.993% of the total variance. The fit indices of the scale were found to be χ2/SD = 2.653, GFI = 0.954, RMSEA = 0.075, NFI = 0.949 and CFI = 0.967. Cronbach's alpha of the scale was found to be 0.862.The CIPEAS was found to be a valid and reliable assessment tool.The Critically Ill Patient Eye Assessment Scale is a valid and reliable tool for Turkish society for assessing the risk of ocular complications. Excessive attachment to social media, a constant desire to be online, being driven by uncontrollable motivation, and the negative impact of this situation on other significant areas of life are considered as social media addiction. In this study, the Social Media Addiction Scale Student Form (SMAS-SF), previously developed in Türkiye to determine students' levels of social media addiction, was adapted into Azerbaijani Turkish. The SMAS-SF is a five-point likert-type scale consisting of 29 items that can be grouped under four factors. The study group consisted of a total of 1,074 students aged 18-26 studying at different universities in Baku. The sample of the study was determined using the convenient sampling method, one of the non-probabilistic sampling determination types. Within the scope of the validity and reliability studies of the scale, expert opinion, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), item total correlations, lower and upper group mean differences, and internal consistency coefficient and stability analyses were performed. As a result of the analyses, it was found that the original structure of the SMAS-SF, consisting of 29 items and 4 dimensions, was confirmed, and significant evidence was provided that it can be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine the level of social media addiction among university students aged 18-26. The lowest possible score that can be obtained from the scale is 29, and the highest score is 145. A high score may indicate a high level of social media addiction in students. Background: Individuals who have the ability to bounce back from stressful events, to recover from their troubles and adverse environmental conditions by getting stronger each time are known as resilient people. Some professions may cause more occupational anxiety than others due to their characteristics and working conditions. In this research, we aimed to develop a professional commitment scale for the ambulance team. Another aim was to analyze the relationships between professional commitment, occupational anxiety, resilience, gender, job, seniority and working unit variables. Methods: In the study, data were collected from a total of 1142 emergency ambulance workers working in Emergency Ambulance and Emergency Call Centers in 34 different cities in Turkey. Data were collected using the "Professional Commitment of Ambulance Team Scale (PCATS), Occupational Anxiety Scale for Emergency Medical Service Professionals (OASEMSP), and Resilience Scale for Adults (RSA). Scale development analyses were carried out using Classical Test Theory (CTT) and Item Response Theory (IRT). Regression analysis were used to examine the relationships between professional commitment, occupational anxiety, resilience, gender, job, seniority and working unit. Results: As a result of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA), it was determined that 8 items remaining in the professional commitment scale formed a single-factor structure, explaining 46% of the variance of professional commitment of the team. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability value was 0.867. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) confirmed the results of exploratory factor analysis. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient obtained through CTT was 0.868, and the marginal reliability coefficient within the scope of IRT was 0.877. The test-retest reliability coefficient was calculated as 0.832, which indicates that the scale is valid and reliable. Conclusions: The study revealed that resilience has a positive effect for professional commitment while occupational anxiety has a negative effect for professional commitment. In addition, having a moderate seniority has a negative (reducing) effect for professional commitment. Objectives: The aim of this study was to develop the Motivations for Coping After Disaster Scale. To test the construct validity of the scale, a total of 676 data were collected from three different sampling groups (N1: 388; N2: 194; N3: 94). Methods: Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Criterion validity analysis were conducted to test the construct validity of the scale. Results: As a result of CFA, it was seen that the post‐disaster scale had a five‐dimensional structure (spiritual values, hope, friend support, solidarity, family support). The loadings of the items of the scale are at a good level. As a result of CFA, the scale was found to have acceptable and good fit indices (χ2/sd = 2.690; RMSEA (Root Mean Square Error of Approximation) = 0.066; SRMR (Standardized Root Mean Square Residual) = 0.047; CFI (Comparative Fit Index) = 0.948; GFI (Goodness of Fit Index) = 0.917). The results of the criterion validity analysis show that the scale has criterion validity. Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient shows that the scale is highly reliable (Total = 0.923). Conclusions: The results of this study show that the Post‐Disaster Coping Motivations Scale is a valid and reliable instrument. It is thought that the scale can make an important contribution to understanding psychological recovery processes after disaster and providing appropriate support to individuals. Climate changes and Covid-19 pandemic have dramatically led to adverse impacts on not only the food supply chains but also consumers’ consumption preferences and purchase decisions in the last decade, and thus they have gradually threatened the welfare of current and next generations. The aim of the research was to determine the factors affecting consumers’ milk consumption preference and purchase decisions at TRA1 region in Turkey, and then to construct the first and second-order consumption preference models based on the factors, and finally to test validation of the models. For the purposes, the main data of the study consisted of primary data obtained from 765 households residing in TRA1 region. The data were firstly used in Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) to determine factor dimensions, and then in Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) for first and second-order multi-factor measurement models. The results of the study indicated that convergent and discriminant validities for each factor dimension in the CFA model were accepted by according to the compare and goodness-of-fit test threshold criteria. On the other hand, the results also highlighted that hygiene, sensory quality, and reliability factors at a higher level, and brand image, concern and nutrition value factors at a moderate level and milk supply source factor at a minimum level were major indicators on consumers’ milk consumption preferences and purchase decisions. All the factors out of concern factor covering the variables related to climate change and Covid-19 pandemic were of positive relationships on their milk consumption pattern, indeed, but concern factor created the negative impacts on the others. Consequently, contraction of animal-based milk diet consumption could be relatively contributed to mitigate the effects of climate change by being transited gradually to moderate-mixed plant-based milk sources, and then to preparation of new national diet programs related to milk consumption. Background: The transition to motherhood is an important life event in a woman's life and represents an important developmental process that brings physical, psychological and social changes to gain a new role. However, research on the transition to motherhood in Turkish society is scarce. There is a need for a comprehensive, practical and reliable tool to evaluate the transition to motherhood in primiparous mothers. This study evaluated the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Transition of Primiparous Becoming Mothers Scale (TMP-S) to evaluate the transition process of primiparous mothers to motherhood. Methods: This methodological research was carried out in obstetrics and gynecology outpatient clinics, pediatric outpatient clinics, and family health centers of a hospital in Türkiye. The sample consisted of primiparous mothers of 0 to 6- month-old babies who visited clinics and family health centers for routine postnatal examinations (n ​​= 305). After evaluating the language equivalence and content validity of the scale, test-retest reliability, internal consistency and construct validity were examined. Factor analysis, Pearson's correlation, retest reliability, and Cronbach's alpha were employed to evaluate structural validity and reliability. Results: The final TPM-S had two dimensions with 25 items. Exploratory factor analysis revealed a two-factor solution, which accounted for 59.276% of the variance. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fit of the two-factor model also reached a satisfactory model ft after modification. The comparative fit index was 0.894, the Tucker‒Lewis index was 0.882, and the root mean square error of approximation was 0.079. The content validity index of the scale ranged from 0.56 ~ 0.77. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.93 for the total scale, and the test–retest reliability was 0.96. Conclusions: It is a valid and reliable tool for evaluating the transition to motherhood among primiparous mothers of 0 to 6 month-old babies in Türkiye. Turkish researchers and healthcare professionals can routinely apply this measurement tool to primiparous mothers in the first six months after birth to evaluate their transition to motherhood. Summary: Food technology neophobia refers to the unwillingness/avoidance and neophobia to foods produced using new food technologies. Identifying this neophobia in a society is significant as it affects the demand for these products in the food industry. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Food Technology Neophobia Scale in a Turkish sample. We conducted this study in two stages. In the first stage, which we conducted with 182 participants, we determined that the scale had high reliability and was suitable for validity testing. In the second stage, which we conducted with 610 participants, we performed exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. The results of these analyses did not confirm the thirteen‐item and four‐factor structure, unlike the original scale; however, they pointed to a twelve‐item and three‐factor structure: 'New Food Technologies Are Unnecessary', 'Perception of Risks', and 'Healthy Choice and Information/Media'. This study addresses the pervasive human experience of loneliness, shifting from a traditional unidimensional perspective to a more nuanced, multidimensional understanding. The Social and Emotional Loneliness Scale for Adults (SELSA) was developed based on this conceptual shift, and this study focuses on adapting the scale to Turkish culture. Data from 197 Turkish adults (Mean age = 23 years, SD = 5.12) were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, revealing a three-factor structure consistent with the original scale. The factors, namely social loneliness, romantic loneliness, and family loneliness, explained 23.7%, 17.5%, and 10.4% of the variance, respectively. One item was excluded from the scale due to the lack of contribution to any factor. Clear factor analysis results and high Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficients (0.92, 0.93, and 0.90 for social, romantic, and family loneliness, respectively, and 0.90 for the total scale) indicate strong internal consistency. The findings not only affirm the applicability of SELSA in the Turkish context but also contribute to a nuanced understanding of loneliness. The multidimensional approach, supported by robust psychometric properties, offers a valuable tool for comprehensively assessing and addressing diverse facets of loneliness in Turkish young adults. In recent times, the rise of urbanization, industrialization, population growth, food security, and the COVID-19 pandemic have led to an increased demand for indoor spaces with efficient air conditioning systems. As a result, there is a growing interest in creating more complex HVAC systems to improve indoor spaces. Building information modeling (BIM) offers numerous benefits to the HVAC industry, such as clash detection, budget and time reductions, and increased efficiency. However, its implementation is currently hindered by various challenges. This research aims to identify the major barriers to BIM implementation in the HVAC industry in Turkey, using a questionnaire survey of 224 domain experts working in 42 different companies across various fields of the HVAC industry. The study utilized several statistical analyses to categorize and prioritize the most critical barriers, including reliability tests, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), the Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin (KMO) test, Bartlett's test, and ranking of factors (IRI). The results indicate that the "Deficiencies of Infrastructure and Lack of Qualified Personnel (DIP)" factor group constituted the most significant barrier, followed by "Lack of Documentation and Specifications (LDS)", "Deficiencies of Case Studies and Project Drawings (DCP)", and "Lack of Motivation and Resistance to BIM (LMR)". Moreover, our research revealed that 60% of the participants' companies allocate less than 40% of their budgets to technological infrastructure, which hinders the adoption of BIM. To promote BIM in the HVAC sector, we recommend enhancing personnel capacity building, improving skills and knowledge about BIM, promoting guidelines, and providing free access to documentation for practitioners. Penal attitudes represent how people justify punishment assigned to offenders or what they perceive punishment's function to be. The purpose of this study is to adapt the Penal Attitudes Scale (PENAS) for use in Turkey in Turkish and to test the resultant psychometric properties of the translated scale. For adaptation, a translation/back-translation method was applied. Respondents (N = 389) voluntarily participated in this study and completed the PENAS, Moral Foundations Questionnaire and Perceptions Toward Criminals Scale. The results of exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses showed that the six-structure PENAS is reliable and valid in the Turkish sample. Finally, the penal attitudes scale demonstrated good construct validity, showing statistically significant correlations with moral foundations and perceptions about the morality and social networks of criminals. This study aims to develop a scale to measure the fear level of individuals towards earthquakes. The population of the research consists of individuals who were directly and indirectly affected by the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş province of Turkey on 6 February 2023. The sample of the research consists of 357 people who voluntarily participated in the survey. Data were collected through an online survey. Experts' opinions, literature review and pilot study were utilized in the creation of the scale items. Psychometric properties of the scale were analyzed by test-retest, calculation of internal consistency coefficient, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and calculation of CR and AVE values. It was observed that the internal consistency levels, structure and adaptive levels of the statements on the scale of fear of earthquakes were very good. In addition, the validity and reliability of the scale were revealed through explanatory factor and confirmatory factor analyses. It was concluded that the earthquake fear scale is a measurement tool that can be used to measure the level of fear of earthquakes in Turkey and in the world. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study aims to develop a measurement tool that involves parental support for the language skills development process in mother tongue education or language arts classes (Turkish course in Türkiye, L1). Family is an undeniable factor in a child's academic performance. In this context, there is no measurement tool that examines the support provided by families to their children in the field of language arts (mother tongue education). Considering that such a measurement tool would be useful for researchers and teachers, the study set out to develop it. The scale is not language specific, but in order to apply it to the Turkish parents it was created in Turkish. In order to develop the measurement tool, first, a literature review was conducted. The relationship between family and academic achievement, family social support, and parental academic support were investigated. In addition, interviews were conducted with five parents on a voluntary basis, and the actions that parents can take to support language skills were investigated. Thus, the item pool of the measurement tool was formed as 32 items. These items were prepared within the framework of the relevant literature and interviews with parents in a way to cover the following topics: parents' guiding and activities that can support language skills, parents' emotional support to the child, parents' material support that can enhance language skills, parents' support to the child in homework assignments in language arts classes (Turkish course in Türkiye). The items were presented to the inspection of two field experts and one measurement and evaluation expert. In addition, the items were presented to a field expert and two parents for the inspection of language and expression, and measures were taken to ensure that there were no incomprehensible items. After these stages, a total of 439 parents formed the participants of the study. While 204 of these participants were used for item analysis and EFA (exploratory factor analysis), 235 of them were used for CFA (confirmatory factor analysis), convergent validity and reliability analysis. Based on the findings obtained, 24-item, 4-factor "Parental Support in Language Skills Development Scale" can be considered as a valid and reliable measurement tool. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Adapting to a nursing home has a significant effect on facilitating the transition to a nursing home. However, a tailored nursing home adjustment scale for Turkish nursing home residents is not yet available. The purpose of this study was to translate the nursing home adjustment scale from English to Turkish and assess its reliability and validity in a sample of nursing home residents in Turkey. Methods: A total of 202 older adults from four nursing homes were included in this study. The reliability of the Turkish nursing home adjustment scale was tested using Cronbach's alpha values for internal consistency. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used to examine the factor structure, whereas correlation analysis was conducted for convergent validity. Results: The Turkish version displayed satisfying internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.88) and perfect convergent validity for life satisfaction (r = 0.482). The Turkish scale included five factors: difficulty fitting in, acceptance of new residence, emotional distress, depressed mood, and relationship development. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the Turkish version of the scale is a valid and reliable tool for measuring the level of nursing home adjustment among older adults in Turkey. The belief that individuals with special needs should receive their education in the same environment as their typically developing peers has been a topic of discussion worldwide for approximately the last fifty years. This idea has paved the way for the emergence of mainstreaming that have been evolving in Turkey since the 1990s until today. Mainstreaming are important within the scope of educational activities. In the process of mainstreaming, school counselors take an active role in the activities carried out and their qualifications are of great importance. Therefore, it is believed that the competencies of school counselors are crucial for the successful implementation of mainstreaming education. In this study, the "School Counselors' Competence Scale for Inclusion/Integration Education" was developed. For this purpose, it was carried out on 155 school counselors who are inclusion students at all levels affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. In the study, Cronbach Alpha reliability analysis was performed together with exploratory factor analysis. As a result of the analysis, it exhibited a threedimensional structure: Peer, Stakeholders, and Expertise. In the first stage of the exploratory factor analysis study, a total of 53 items were evaluated within the scope of the analysis, and as a result of the analysis, 39 items formed the final form of the scale. As a result of the analysis, a three-dimensional scale format with an explained variance of 49.999% and a KMO value of .885 was reached. As a result of the analysis, Cronbach's α reliability coefficient of .969 shows that the reliability is high. On the premise of the scale scores obtained from this study, it will be possible to plan new studies in the literature. Purpose: The construction industry is a crucial industry for national development worldwide. Because the construction industry is tied to national and international economic activities, the COVID-19 outbreak has limited construction projects. Therefore, this study investigates the most influential factors regarding COVID-19 and their effects on the construction industry. Design/methodology/approach: The potential impacts of COVID-19 on the construction industry were identified through a realistic literature review and interviews with professionals. A questionnaire was distributed via e-mail to architects, civil engineers and contractors who play vital roles during the construction processes. The data were analysed using SPSS 22 and LISREL 8.7 software to quantify the most influential pandemic-related factors faced by the construction industry. Findings: Ten influential pandemic factors affecting the construction industry in Turkey were identified. Among them, "increased costs and price escalations due to shortage of raw materials and supply chain disruption" and "challenges with payment and cash flows" were determined as the most influential pandemic factors. Research limitations/implications: This research aims to advance comprehension of pandemic impacts and contributes an incipient assessment framework based on 10 determined pandemic factors. Therefore, contractors, architects and civil engineers may analyse their weaknesses and organise precise priorities so that their firms may remain competitive, thus minimising the adverse impact of COVID-19 and possible forthcoming waves. Originality/value: Few studies have identified the effect of pandemics on the construction industry qualitatively, forcing management to make projections to the current situation. Moreover, no study has provided insights into the influential factors of pandemics using quantitative methods. Therefore, this study comprehensively and quantitatively determines the relevant COVID-19 pandemic factors using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and utilises confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modelling to present a structural model of how pandemic factors affect the Turkish construction industry. As a result of the diversity of preschool education environments day by day, it has become inevitable for teachers to make some sensitive arrangements to meet the needs of children based on their differences. For this reason, it is important to determine the awareness of teachers about anti-bias education.This study aims to investigate the psychometric properties of the scale called The Self-Awareness Scale toward Anti-Bias Education and to assess preschool teachers' self-awareness towards anti-bias education in Turkey. Before collecting data for first study, items were determined by benefiting from literature and getting opinions of field experts. 270 preschool teachers participated this study to test validity and reliability of the draft scale. Firstly, Exploratory Factor Analysis was applied and the KMO value of .840 and the Bartlett Test of Homogeneity (χ²= 794,814, p = 0.000) were found to be significant. The factor loadings of the items ranged from .75 to .48. The model fit indices were found as acceptable with Confirmatory Factor Analysis. As a result, 11 items were included in the created test scale. It was also decided that the scale would be in a 5-point Likert type. 120 preschool teachers participated to the second study and it was found that preschool teachers' self-awareness for anti-bias education was high. In addition, their professional experiences had an effect on their awareness. Teachers who have more professional experience had more positive self-awareness for anti-bias than teachers who have fewer professional experiences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examines the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on hazelnut cultivation. Data were obtained from 196 hazelnut farmers in Turkey. Farmers' socioeconomic characteristics and satisfaction with COVID-19 precautions are compared by geographical region. Exploratory factor analysis is used to examine the impact of COVID-19, with comparisons made before and during the pandemic via a paired-sample t-test. The results indicate that, despite having similar socioeconomics and farm assets, farmers in Ordu and Sakarya were differently affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Fertilization costs increased by 60.5%, pesticide costs by 64.4%, and labor wages by 19.1% during the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas hazelnut sales prices only increased by 5.2%. Overall, the impact of COVID-19 can be explained across 4 dimensions: timing issues, increase in input prices, inability to access financial resources and logistics issues. To generalize the results, it may be appropriate to select similar farmers in different regions and compare monetary values in real terms. Aim: This research aimed to assess the validity and reliability of the "Oral Health Assessment Tool for the Elderly" Turkish form. Methods: A total of 262 elderly individuals > 65 years of age were included in the study. These individuals were selected from community‐dwelling elderly and nursing home residents in the Konya province of Turkey. A data form containing sociodemographic information and oral health behavior was used to collect the data. In addition, the Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index and the Oral Health Assessment Tool for the Elderly were used. To create the Turkish version of the tool, the form was translated and back‐translated for content validity. Expert opinion was obtained for criterion validity. Last, confirmatory factor analysis and exploratory factor analysis were performed to evaluate construct validity. Test‐retest reliability, interobserver reliability, and Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficients were calculated. Results: The Tool Turkish form consisted of 10 items and two factors. The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient was 0.86. The total variance explained by the items was 60.19%, and the test‐retest reliability coefficient was 0.95. The content validity index was 0.90, and Kendall's coefficient of concordance was 0.97. The correlation coefficient between the scales is 0.719. The mean Oral Health Assessment Tool for the Elderly score obtained by the participants was 5.4 ± 4.32 (median 5, min‐max: 0–17). This study aims to develop a scale to identify the factors influencing mathematics teachers' grading practices regarding students' in-class performance. The study was carried out with 180 secondary and 140 high school mathematics teachers from the southwestern region of Türkiye. The scale's construct validity was determined using item analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The EFA results showed that the scale consisted of a 5-point Likerttype scale with 36 items under eight factors (mathematical knowledge and skills, social behaviors, affective skills, effort, homework performance, follow-up test results, academic exam results, and external benchmarks). The scale explained 70.02% of the total variance, with factor loadings ranging from 0.50 to 0.92. The item-total correlations ranged from 0.36 to 0.64, and t-test results for the item discrimination index were significant. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the overall scale was calculated to be 0.92. The CFA results indicated that the scale model had a good fit (Chi-square/df = 1.39; RMSEA = 0.051; IFI = 0.98; NNFI = 0.97; CFI= 0.98; and SRMR = 0.062). Objective: This study aimed to develop a Resilience Scale for Parents of Children with Cancer (RSP‐CC) designed specifically for parents of children with cancer and to evaluate its psychometric properties. Methods: Based on the Resilience Model for Families of Children with Cancer, items were created after an extensive literature review and evaluated through expert consultation and a pilot study. Psychometric evaluation was conducted with the parents of 601 children with cancer in the pediatric hematology oncology services of different hospitals in the Ankara and Kayseri provinces in Turkey. Results: A 4‐factor structure was illustrated by exploratory factor analysis and confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis, explaining 62.192% of the total variance. In the reliability analysis of the scale, Interclass correlation = 0.993 and Cronbach's alpha = 0.994 were found for the scale. Robust correlation coefficients were found between test‐retest, and the correlation between the two measurements was statistically significant (r = 0.990; p ˂ 0.001). As a result, the validity of a 24‐item scale structure consisting of 4 dimensions was validated. Conclusions: It may be said that the RSP‐CC meets the necessary criteria to examine the resilience in parents of children aged 0–18 with a cancer diagnosis, and its psychometric properties are reasonable sufficient. The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to reveal geography teachers' knowledge of place names. A systematic approach was followed to develop the measurement tool. In line with this purpose, the study was carried out in accordance with the methods of the research. The form created in the 2020-2021 academic year was applied to a total of 457 geography teachers working in secondary schools across Turkey who were contacted by the accessible sampling method and volunteered to participate in the survey. Both exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted on the sample group. As a result of descriptive analysis, it was determined that the scale consists of 17 items and 3 sub-dimensions. The dimensions of the developed scale are named as length-depth level, geographical education relationship of place names and culture-affiliation relationship of place names. The Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient for the entire scale is .89, while the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient for each sub-dimension is between .83 and .86. (first factor related to .83, second factor related to .86 and third factor related to .84). A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted as part of the validity of the scale. The result of the analysis confirmed a 3-factor structure. In conclusion, it was revealed that the scale measures the attitude towards place names in a valid and reliable way. A valid and reliable scale was developed that can be used to determine the attitudes of geography teachers about place names. The current study was conducted to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that can measure middle school students' ability to understand and use the language of mathematics. The study was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, data were collected from 359 middle school students studying in a city in the north of Turkey in order to determine the structure of the scale. Exploratory factor analysis was performed on the collected data. In the second stage, data were collected from 217 middle school students studying in public schools in a province located in the east of Turkey in order to verify the structure of the scale. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed on the collected data. For the reliability of the scale, the Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficients of the entire scale and its sub-dimensions were checked. As a result of the analyzes made, a valid and reliable "Mathematics Language Understanding and Using Skills Scale" consisting of nine items and two dimensions was developed. This study aimed to develop and validate the Live Online Classes Engagement Scale (LOCES) to measure higher education (HE) students' live online classes (LOCs) engagement levels. The scale items were created after reviewing the studies focusing on engagement and those developing engagement scales. For validity and reliability, data were collected from 1039 students (Female = 749, Male = 290) who were receiving distance education via LOCs in 34 different departments of 21 universities in Turkey. As a result of exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, a structure with six factors (social, instructional, technological, emotional, behavioral, and withdrawal) and 46 items was obtained. The total variance explained was 63.45%. As a result, the LOCES met the criteria necessary for validity and reliability. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many disruptions to individuals' everyday lives and caused wide-ranging, drastic effects on their well-being, mental health, and physical health. This study sought to validate the Dark Future Scale (DFS) and examine its reliability and validity in Turkish. The present study also examined the relationship between fear of COVID-19, dark future anxiety, and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey. Four hundred and eighty-nine Turkish athletes (mean age = 23.08 ± 6.64) completed measures on fear, anxiety, resilience, and demographic information. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed that the DFS had a one-factor solution with good reliability. Fear of COVID-19 significantly predicted resilience and future anxiety. Furthermore, resilience significantly predicted anxiety and mediated the effect of fear of COVID-19 on future anxiety. The findings have important implications for improving mental health and developing the resiliency of athletes during public health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With ownership estimates of up to 25%, Turkey is at the forefront of cryptocurrency adoption, rendering it an interesting example to study the proclaimed use cases of cryptocurrencies. Using exploratory factor analysis based on a sample of 715 Turkish cryptocurrency owners, we identified 3 different owner groups and their underlying motives. The first group (payment users) looks at cryptocurrency as an option for payments, thereby disregarding its speculative element, while the second group (crypto investors) can best be described as experienced investors holding cryptocurrency as part of their investment strategy. The third group (crypto traders) consists of risk-tolerant traders. Further analyses show that groups not only differentiate by demographics, income and education, but also by factors such as ideology, purchase intention and the use of domestic or foreign exchanges. The results contribute to the understanding of Turkish cryptocurrency owners, their intrinsic and extrinsic motivations and can be incorporated into the pending regulatory processes in the country. The findings suggest that cryptocurrencies have outgrown the use case of mere speculation in Turkey. Those in the group of Turkish payment users are identified as potential lead users whose current needs may represent common needs for crypto users in similar markets in the future. Religious coping refers to an individual's turning to religious beliefs, worship, and practices while overcoming situations. Recently, the number of studies on the religious coping strategies of individuals has increased in Turkey. These studies, which are generally conducted with the literature review method, utilise scales developed in foreign countries and adapted to Turkey. This study aims to develop a religious coping scale that conforms with Turkey's religious and cultural structure for people of different sexes, ages, places, educational levels, and piety. For this purpose, a pool of concepts was created by also benefitting from interviews carried out with the participation of people in the close circle first. Afterwards, a draft scale of 76 items was formed based on this pool of concepts. Six experts' opinions were taken to ensure the scale's content validity. Considering the experts' opinions, three items measuring two features at once were divided into two, seven items were excluded from the scale, and two items were added to the scale. Additionally, the scale was revised according to the opinions of two grammar experts and two measurement and evaluation experts. Finally, an eight-factor and 74-item scale, in which items are grouped under four positive religious coping dimensions and four negative religious coping dimensions, was obtained. Designed as a 5-point Likert type, the scale was conducted with a sample group of ten to test its comprehensibility and duration. After identifying that the expressions are comprehensible and the scale is completed in five minutes, the Ethics Commission application was made. Approved with the 2022/110 numbered decision of the Ethics Committee on Scientific Research in Social Sciences and Humanities of Necmettin Erbakan University taken at the 11/03/2022 dated and 03 numbered meeting, the draft scale was first conducted in April and May 2022. The scale was filled in by 373 participants appropriately; it was seen that KMO and Bartlett's Test results were significant, and exploratory factor analysis was made. The analysis resulted in the exclusion of 38 items that gave a similar load ratio to more than one factor and whose distinctiveness level was below 0.40. The scale was conducted again with another sample group of 257 participants to validate the factor structure of the 36 items grouped under six factors. It was seen that the confirmatory factor analysis results of the scale complied with the exploratory factor analysis results. As a result, a religious coping scale, which has high-level reliability for all sub-dimensions; has two dimensions as positive and negative; comprises six factors; is valid and reliable, and has a solid theoretical basis, has been designed. The aim of the study is to develop and psychometrically test the Mindfulness Breastfeeding Scale among postnatal women. Cross-sectional data were collected during 2017–2018 in Antalya Education and Research Hospital. The total sample comprised 500 post-partum women who met the inclusion criteria: (1) Women older than 18 years, who were literate in Turkish, (2) women without a disease or drug treatment that would prevent breastfeeding, and (3) mothers with a healthy baby. Missing was low in frequency (5.4%). A unidimensional solution has been observed as a result of exploratory and confirmative factor analyses. Low reliability and validity were obtained in seven of the original 16 items; excluding these items, the one-dimensional 9-items measurement model revealed good model fit, indicating good internal consistency and validity. Significant factor loadings, goodness-of-fit indices and a significant correlation in the expected direction with breastfeeding self-efficacy supported reliability and validity of the Mindfulness Breastfeeding Scale. Exploring the essence of mindfulness in breastfeeding and its health-promoting potential is highly warranted. This study aims to adapt the thriving scale into Turkish by considering its academic context and to examine the mediating role of thriving in the relationship between mindfulness, GPA scores, and entrepreneurial intention. The sample of the study has involved the participation of 134 students from five different departments of Istanbul Medeniyet University in Turkey, using data collected at three-time points in the spring semester of 2019. At the first and second time points, students filled out an online survey made up of questions regarding demographics, mindfulness, entrepreneurship, and thriving; while at the third time point, researchers obtained the students' GPA scores from a software-based university information system. The construct validity of the scales was tested via an Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The Cronbach's Alpha coefficients were analyzed to test the internal consistency, while the intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) was used to analyze the test-retest reliability. Finally, a structural equation analysis was used to test the research model. Academicians who always contribute to the literature and have an important place in the world of science by doing academic studies are always valuable. While academics contribute to science, they make sacrifices on many issues and continue to do their work, even though they face different challenges. In the study, it is aimed to determine how the difficulties encountered in the process of contributing to science directly affect individuals, and what factors the fatigue experienced while doing academic work depends on. For this purpose, no scale has been found in the literature. For this reason, this scale development study is planned to eliminate the identified deficiencies. Academicians working at different universities in Turkey and in different fields of expertise participated in the study. In the study, in which 152 academicians participated, a questionnaire is used as a technical data collection tool. Based on the data obtained from the questionnaires, validity and reliability analyzes are applied. After these analyses, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis is performed to evaluate the construct validity. As a result of the study, it is seen that the negative situations experienced by the academicians while carrying out their studies should not be ignored, and these negative situations should be eliminated. It is thought that the developed scale will guide different studies in the future and other deficiencies identified in the literature will be eliminated. The COVID-19 pandemic adversely affected the physical and mental health of individuals. Measures required to prevent the spread of the virus, such as isolation, hygiene, mask use, and lockdown, led individuals to develop obsessive thoughts and behaviors. This study aims to adapt the obsession with COVID-19 scale (OCS) to Turkish culture. This four-item scale aims at measuring obsessive thoughts related to COVID-19. The study group consisted of 870 participants from seven regions of Turkey. Data from different groups were collected for exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. Data for the exploratory factor analysis were collected from 296 (71.5%) females and 118 (28.5%) males (n = 414). For the confirmatory factor analysis, data were collected from 301 (66.0%) females and 155 (34.0%) males (n = 456). As a result of the analysis, the one-dimensional structure of the TR-OCS was confirmed in the Turkish sample. It was revealed that TR-OCS scores had a positive relationship with depression, anxiety, and stress but a negative relationship with resilience. The findings confirmed that the TR-OCS was valid and reliable. This scale is a short and effective tool for measuring obsessive thoughts related to COVID-19. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The existence of the psychology of religion emerges from the moment one starts to think about religion. The psychology of religion provides support to religious education and religious educators both in theory and in practice. Individuals who learn the main concepts of the field and the religious lifestyle have the ability to better understand their own feelings, thoughts and behaviors and the feelings, thoughts and behaviors of others. In this context, it can be said that the psychology of religion course is necessary for the theology faculty students, and the knowledge they have gained in the course will contribute their ability to communicate in the jobs they will be assigned and to perform their duties effectively. The main purpose of the psychology of religion course is "to understand and try to explain the religious life of the individual in all its breadth and depth." Achieving this goal for the psychology of religion course is related to the attitudes of the students in theology faculties towards this course. Since it is known that there is a relationship between the attitudes of students towards courses and their academic achievements, students with positive attitudes towards the course are more easily motivated to learn, and those with negative attitudes are less interested in the course. In this context, it is important to investigate the attitudes of theology faculty students towards the psychology of religion course. One of the main reasons for studying attitudes is that it allows behavior to be predicted. The intensity of people's attitudes is attempted to be understood by determining the degree of interest or indifference towards certain things. For this purpose, it is aimed to conduct a scale development study that can be used to determine the attitudes of the theology faculty students towards the psychology of religion course. It is assumed that knowing the attitudes of the theology faculty students towards the psychology of religion course, revealing their negative attitudes, if any, and their reasons will guide the future decisions to make the course more qualified. This study uses the survey method. The study group consists of junior and senior year university students of theology faculties located in different provinces of Turkey. The study group consists of 481 students, of which 354 (73.6%) are female and 127 (26.4%) are male. Following the literature review, a pool of 42 items was created and the number of items was reduced to 39 after receiving an expert opinion. The data collected through the pre-test were loaded into the SPSS 25.0 and made ready for analysis. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) technique was used for the factor analysis of the scale and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to test the accuracy of the factor structure. After the statistical work performed on the validity of the scale, its KMO value was found to be 0.965. A KMO value above 0.90 is considered "excellent" for the sample size. Bartlett's Test of Sphericity was significant (X2= 11144.785; p<.05), which indicated that the data set had a multivariate normal distribution. When the slope graph was examined, it was observed that three factors with eigenvalues greater than one emerged. Since it was seen that the scale had more than one dimension, it was decided to perform the rotation process. For this, the vertical rotation (varimax rotation) technique was used. Following the repeated rotations, 25 items were found to be gathering under three factors greater than 1. Following the inspection of eigenvalues and variance explanation ratios through factor analysis, it was observed that the scale items were grouped under three factors. The variance percentages of these factors are 34.078, 19.428, and 16.717 respectively. All factors account for 70,223% of the total variance. Factor loading values of the items were between 0.627 and 0.792. Considering the items with the highest loading values under the emerging factors, the factors were named as "Attaching importance/value", "Showing interest/fondness", and "Disapproval/Avoidance". The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient of the scale was found as α=0.97. To determine whether the scale distinguishes between the participants who demonstrated the measured behavior and who did not, the averages of lower 27% and upper 27% group scores were analyzed with independent samples t-test. After the statistical operations, the independent samples t-test results between the average item scores of the groups were observed to be varying between 18.291 and 43.252 and were statistically significant (p<.01) for all items. Analyses were performed on the correlations among the sub-factors of the scale and significant positive correlations were found between dimensions including Attaching importance/value and Showing interest/fondness (r=0.76;p<0.000), Attaching importance/value and Disapproval/Avoidance (r=0.58; p<0.000), and "Showing interest/fondness" and Disapproval/Avoidance (r=0.64; p<.000). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed to confirm the emerging structure of the scale. According to the analyzes, the fit indices of the scale were χ2/df= 2.7; NFI= .98; NNFI= .98; IFI= .98; RFI= .98; CFI= .98; RMR= .04 values indicate "perfect fit", while GFI= .85 and RMSEA= .07 values indicate "acceptable fit". When the results of the EFA and CFA were evaluated as a whole, it was concluded that the "Attitude Scale towards the Psychology of Religion Course" (ASTPRC) is a valid and reliable scale that can be used to measure attitudes towards the psychology of religion course. Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the adequacy of foot care practices and the influencing factors of patients diagnosed with tinea pedis. Methods: Participants are 187 patients who were examined in a dermatology outpatient clinic in a state hospital in Anatolia between January 10 and April 15, 2021 and were diagnosed with tinea pedis. The research was carried out by applying a face-to-face questionnaire to the participants. Results: Exploratory factor analysis was performed on the scale used in the study. The total foot scale mean score of the group was found to be 39.31±7.98. The average age is 40.370±0.693, and that of men is 37.313±1.018. The majority are university graduates (69.1%), health insurance is obtained by the social security institution (41.0%). Employees working as civil servants more (32.4%), equal to the income and expenses of the majority (46.9%) and 67%; I smoke 6 cigarettes. Those with chronic diseases are 21.8%. 17% of them regularly use medication. Conclusion: It was determined that the foot care witchcraft scores of women, those living in the city, those who have the habit of wiping/washing the inside of their shoes, daily airing and changing daily socks were found to be higher. It may be suggested to the society; training on foot hygiene, the use of shoes and socks, foot care and its importance, it may be suggested to organize it in a way that includes the residents and the male population. This study aims to adapt the Situated Academic Writing Self-Efficacy Scale into Turkish and conduct validity and reliability studies. The study group of this research consisted of 245 (62 male, 183 female) university students. In the study, the Situated Academic Writing Self-Efficacy Scale, the Academic Procrastination Behavior Scale, and the Student Attitudes and Beliefs Regarding Authorship Scale were used. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, it was seen that the scale had a three-factor structure, and this structure explained %57.01 of the total variance. The results of confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the fit values of the three-factor structure were at a good level (χ²=65.870, df=51, p=.079, χ²/sd=1.292, IFI=.966, CFI=.965, SRMR=.036, RMSEA=.047). In the criterion-related validity study, there was a negative relationship between the Situated Academic Writing Self-Efficacy Scale and the Academic Procrastination Behavior Scale scores (r=-.38, p<.01), and a positive relationship between the Student Attitudes and Beliefs Regarding Authorship Scale scores (r=.64, p<.01) meaning that a significant correlation was found. The McDonald's ω coefficient calculated within the scope of the reliability study was .84 for the whole scale, .73 for reflection, .73 for creativity, and .68 for writing skills. In addition, the peer-half correlation was calculated as .73, and significant differences were found between the lower and upper groups of %27. When the item-total test correlations of the scale were examined, it was seen that all items were above .40. Finally, the test-retest correlation was calculated as .94. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Coronavirus Worry Scale and related factors with COVID-19 worry. Methods: The data were collected through online survey from 846 participants and final sample was 804 after excluding missing data. The psychometric properties of the Turkish Coronavirus Worry Scale were assessed through exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency reliability analysis, and Pearson product moment correlation with other psychological constructs. Finally, the one-way analysis of variance and independent samples t-test were utilized for comparing the Coronavirus Worry Scale scores between different socio-demographic and clinical variables. Higher Coronavirus Worry Scale scores suggested higher COVID-19 worry. Results: Exploratory factor analysis explored the single-factor structure of the Turkish Coronavirus Worry Scale and confirmatory factor analysis confirmed this single-factor structure with good model fits. This scale had good internal consistency reliability (Cronbach's α = 0.92, McDonald's ? = 0.92). The Coronavirus Worry Scale scores were significantly positively correlated with the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale (r = 0.41, P < .01), Fear of COVID-19 Scale (r =0.67, P < .01), Obsession with COVID-19 Scale (r = 0.54, P < .01), and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (r = 0.36, P < .01). COVID-19 worry was higher in females, those who had a chronic disease, the loss of first-degree or other relatives or close friends due to COVID-19, or those who had never been vaccinated for COVID-19. Those who obeyed the COVID-19 rules, such as wearing masks and physical distancing had higher Coronavirus Worry Scale scores. Also, those who avoided crowded environments to protect themselves from COVID-19 transmission had higher Coronavirus Worry Scale scores. Introduction: The main objectives of this study were to present population norms and the construct validity of the WHOQOL-OLD using classical and modern (Rasch) psychometric analyses. Methods: This study was conducted on the pooled data of 29 studies, 16 of which were representative of the population (n=6951). The psychometric properties of the WHOQOL-OLD were evaluated with classical (confirmatory factor analysis and multivariate regression model) and probabilistic test theory (Rasch and DIF) analyses. Results: The mean age of the Turkish WHOQOL-OLD data pool was 73.2±6.8. The mean overall scale score was 81.27±13.57 and the range of the mean dimension scores was between 12.34 (social participation) and 14.59 (intimacy). The elderly (advanced age) and women are more sensitive to the decrease in quality-of-life (QoL) scores. Both Cronbach's alpha values and item analyses indicated good internal consistency for all dimensions. Exploratory factor analyses (EFA) generated five factors instead of a six-factor original scale structure. "Past, present, and future activities" and "social participation" were combined in a single dimension in the EFA. Confirmatory factor analyses resulted in acceptable goodness of fit indices, such as Confirmation Fit Index (CFI)=0.951 and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA)=0.055. Turkish elders perceive the death and dying dimension as culturally closer to the culture of developing countries than developed Western cultures. Conclusion: Turkish older adults' QoL scores were more or less like those of other older adults in developing countries. This study's results confirm that the acceptable psychometric properties of the WHOQOL-OLD-TR with some items (items 9 and 20) need to be worked on further. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The main objective of this study is to identify reliable and valid performance dimensions for both the identification and quantification of logistics performance that continues its development in the academic literature. Design/methodology/approach: Quantitative research approach was used in the scale development process. First, the logistical performance literature was analyzed in detail, and it was evaluated that the logistics performance consists mainly of logistics efficiency, logistics differentiation, logistics agility and logistics effectiveness dimensions. During the scale development process, opinions were obtained from academics, industry managers and pilot applications were carried out. For the implementation of the developed scale, a total of 108 companies engaged in logistics activities in Turkey were identified, and the developed scale was applied to 398 logistics professionals. Findings: A 28-item logistics performance scale has been developed based on the resource-based theory to measure totally five-dimensional performance. First, the three items under the logistics agility dimension were separated from this dimension as a result of the exploratory factor analysis, and it was understood that these items belong to the "logistics flexibility" dimension. The established structure was supported by confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability and validity of the scale are within the range of acceptable values. Research limitations/implications: The research data were collected from the Western Mediterranean region. The scale should be tested in different geographies. Originality/value: By means of establishing a valid and reliable scale for logistics performance and its sub-dimensions, it is evaluated that this study will contribute to future research based on the measurement of logistics performance. Recent years have witnessed a substantial increase in the interest in violence occurring at home or school, as well as in neighborhoods. Yet, there is no standardized instrument to measure community violence in Turkey. Thus, the present study aimed to adapt the Exposure to Recurring Community Violence Scale into Turkish and explore its psychometric properties. The sample consisted of 210 participants (57% were females) between 18 and 64 years (Mage = 38.33, SD = 10.67). For criterion‐related validity, we evaluated the participants' scores on the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI), the Traumatic Life Events Form, the Relationship Quality Scale, and a Demographic Information Form. We performed all statistical analyses using the FACTOR and SPSS v.20 programs. Exploratory factor analysis revealed a 2‐factor structure for the scale (victimization and witnessing), explaining 52% of the total variance. As expected, the witnessing and victimization scores were correlated with the subscales of the BSI, the number of traumatic life events, and the subscales of The Relationship Quality Scale. For reliability concerns, we calculated Cronbach's α coefficients to be 0.79 for the victimization and 0.90 for the witnessing. Besides, the findings revealed acceptable psychometric properties for the Turkish version of the Exposure to Recurring Community Violence Scale. Thereby, we concluded that the scale can be used as a reliable and valid measure in the Turkish context. The aim of the study was to evaluate the validity and reliability and to test the psychometric properties of the Turkish culture version of the Pediatric Rating of Chronic Illness Self-Efficacy Scale (PRCISE). The sample of this methodological study consisted of adolescents with chronic disease who were followed up in pediatric polyclinics. 220 adolescents aged 10–17 were included in the study. The study was conducted between April and November 2019 at a university hospital in Turkey. Data were collected using face-to-face interviews with the participants visited to the outpatient clinic in the hospital. Questionnaires (personal information form and Pediatric Rating of Chronic Illness Self-Efficacy Scale) were administered to the adolescents. Psychometric testing consisted of internal consistency reliability (item-total correlations and Cronbach alpha coefficient), test-retest reliability, and validity (exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis). In the exploratory factor analysis, Barlett's sphericity test was (χ2(105) =497.953; p = 0.000). The five-factor model with an eigenvalue value of more than 1 in the exploratory factor analysis obtained the best and acceptable fit indices in the confirmatory factor analysis. The factor structure was verified by the confirmatory factor analysis. In the confirmatory factor analysis, the model fit indices of this scale were obtained as follows: Goodness-of-Fit Index = 0.92, Comparative Fit Index = 0.87, and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation = 0.55. Cronbach alpha value indicating the internal consistency of the entire scale was.703. The PRCISE is a reliable and valid instrument for Turkish adolescents with chronic illness. This is a methodological, cross-sectional descriptive study designed with the purpose of developing a valid and reliable measurement instrument allowing determination of the Comfort of PPE used by healthcare workers. The draft scale which was reduced to 20 items after content validity analysis was prepared as a 5-point Likert-type scale and applied to 502 volunteering healthcare workers employed at state, university and private hospitals in the province of Istanbul in Turkey. The scale was tested for validity and reliability. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability analyses were used to assess reliability, exploratory factor analysis was conducted with the SPSS software, and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted with the Lisrel software. As a result of the analyses, a 20-item scale consisting of 3 dimensions and explaining 63.14% of the total variance was developed. The Cronbach's α value for the entire scale was determined as 0.93. For test-retest reliability, the scale was applied again on the same group with a two-week interval, and the correlation coefficient was found significant. The three-factor construct was confirmed with the confirmatory factor analysis. The PPE Comfort Scale may be used in a group of healthcare workers as a valid and reliable instrument.
