Abstract: The article discusses the highlights of the 2012 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry held in Tucson, Arizona on January 9-14. 12 symposia, three topical workshops, four poster sessions and 50 preconference short courses are cited as features of the event. Topics discussed include flow injection analysis, nanomaterial analysis, and laser-assisted plasma spectrochemistry. A lecture by Michael Ramsey on the use of microfabricated fluidic devices is also mentioned.
